  1. I still think Ray is a little creepy.....

    ReplyDelete
  2. They're trying way hard with Ray. It comes off as way too written and convenient. Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Ah I can't watch it. Anybody got a link for YouTube?

    ReplyDelete
  4. "You and I are going to be best friends." I cannot say how much I love Felicity.

I'm not sure how I feel about Ray yet, but that he knows that she's valuable as more than an assistant and buys her nice things is a good start. Plus, Oliver gets every other love interest in the world, and Felicity deserves one of her own. So basically I know I like the idea of Ray, but am not sure I like Ray himself yet. He needs to have some flaws other than personal boundary issues to ground him, at the very least.

  5. When the stills for this scene were released I was hoping it was some kind of a misdirect and we wouldn't get the creepy "I bought you a nice dress to entice you to attend this party I want you to attend with me that you don't want to attend with me" kind of thing, and it's exactly that. Disappointing.

    ReplyDelete
  6. This for me was the final strike against Ray. No chances i will ever like him. I am sure it wasnt the writers intention but he creeps me out.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I agree with about Ray, I still don't know how I feel about him. Felicity definitely deserves to have her own love interest but I'm not sure I want it to be Ray. The producers built up the Ray and Felicity scenes a lot and they said that they have great chemistry but I think their scenes are strange. Ray vacillates between being a little pushy/invasive and letting Felicity do whatever she wants (while seemingly not doing much work.) I guess we'll get a better look at their relationship tonight but I find it all rather weird.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I can't see Felicity with another one, OK?! but I think Felicity made it clear at episode 2 that she wants more of this life. so she has this right to move on or change at some points.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ray seems a bit manic here. Superficially it may seem charming but it's also a little troubling.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Its written by the same pople who wrote Time Of Death. I am gonna keep my hopes low.

    ReplyDelete
  11. She could always move on with a guy who isn't creepy and doesn't manipulate her by buying her nice things. But I guess that might be too much to ask from the show at this point in time.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Or a lot creepy...

    ReplyDelete
  13. But this reaction from Felicity is OOC. You know how i would believe that reaction if he bought her an amazing electronical device that isnt on the market yet. But not over a dress.
Remember the Can i touch it comment when her & Dig visited ARGUS while they were looking for Oliver.. I would have expected her to be all in love with that thing. But over a dress? HELL NO.
But seems writers have a theme going on. Last week they made Diggle OOC, this week Felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Is it just me or did Felicity seem kind of out of character? I just don't see her being the type of woman to fawn over couture. It's just not HER.

Ugh I hate how they have to writer her to be out of character to push the Ray/Felicity thing forward. It's safe to say I'm disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Is it weird to ship Felicity with that dress. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Exactly give her a doohickey (sorry Stargate reference) and i might expect it. But not over a dress.

    ReplyDelete
  17. When I saw the promo picture of Ray giving her an expensive necklace, I immediately thought that she would be uncomfortable by that because she has never been the type of character that has been impressed by money. So I was a little surprised that she was so into the expensive dress but I guess she has always liked dresses sooo

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ugh, really? Time Of Death is one of my least favorite episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I ship it too.

    ReplyDelete
  20. This is going to be amazing. They should show Olly pics of his face when he finds out. AWESOME!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Its a great dress. Ray gets points for amazing taste.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Felicity always dresses very well like a Barby and it's obvious she loves it and she said the dress costs more than her apartment. it's not so hard to believe, we saw her mom and she has her gene too. :)))

    ReplyDelete
  23. Felicity and the dress are my OTP
    :P

    ReplyDelete
  24. But we never seen her go all gaga over a dress before. But a electronical device we know how much she loves those.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sorry bub, Felicity with that Black dress on The Flash is the ultimate ship. :p

    ReplyDelete
  26. OK it's not a big deal see it now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. No, Felicity and that dress were made for each other. If there's one good thing to come out of Ray being a creepy creep, it's that.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's official, this people really can't write Felicity!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah, bribing someone with a dress to go out to dinner with them (work or not) is really creepy... But that's just my opinion. I'm sure others will disagree.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Also he got the dress just for her, knew her size and the style of dress she likes. That's cute if people are already dating and/or know each other pretty well but creepy if you're trying to get someone to go out with you.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love Ray and don't care about his crazy eyes and stalker behavior...he's not meant to be taken so seriously. This scene is adorable. That dress looks like she bought it at TJ Maxx, though. Really, if you're going to make a huge deal about a dress it needs to be better than that.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well, leaving aside how not impressive the dress is...we've also never seen anyone buy her a dress before. Her clothes consistently are like, $80-$400 dresses and $600 shoes, which in tv land are supposed to be average affordable clothes. This reaction seems fine for what it's supposed to be from a 25-yo who loves fashion, which she does.

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is the final straw, I hate Ray, he is creepy! I actually hate the total conversation. And the hideous dress. What happened to my favorite show?... this season I cannot recognize it! I want team Arrow back going on missions together and not this soap drama.

    ReplyDelete
  34. So let's recap, her boss asked her to be his date while he was shirtless at their place of work and gave her an expensive dress AND told her that it's expensive, awwww how very appropriate and sweet and quirky and romantic, seriously guys my heart is melting.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'd say considering how BLATANTLY creepy Ray is, there's more to him than meets the eye... he's too open about his stalking of Felicity to not be hiding something else. Just watch.

    ReplyDelete
  36. As Marc Guggenheim said, no one who runs Queen Consolidated seems to have good intentions (except Walter, I guess.) Apparently we'll learn more about Ray's plans tonight. I'm interested to see what he's really doing.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Brandon Routh channeling Shaw err Plywood levels of creepiness here. ;) :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. lol

I feel like you are being sarcastic....lol

It is very weird, but I am willing to go with it, just to see some good Olly and Felicity scenes after the "work dinner" aka date.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Of course I am sarcastic, are they kidding us with this?????

Honestly Oliver's reaction is the only thing that's keeping me from throwing up right now.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, it feels like the writers felt like Felicity needed a love interest, but couldn't figure out a good way to work one in, so they just married that with the story about Oliver losing QC and stuck a DC name on the character to appease anyone who called it random. I'm trying to get on board with it - I still have fond feels for Brandon Routh from Chuck, although he turned out to be a villain on that show - but Ray is just coming off very Mary Sue (is there a dude term for that?) and now is ending up a little creepy. They need to make him into a normal person, instead of just a plot device.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm sorry. Who was that woman? Looks like Felicity, but Felicity would never agree to go out to dinner with someone for a dress. I haven't been opposed to the idea of Ray and Felicity until now, but if they have to write Felicity that much out of character to make this Ray thing happen, that's a good sign that maybe they should just stop. There was nothing funny or charming about their interaction.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't think that this is OOC at all, really. Loving tech doesn't mean you don't love fashion, and considering Felicity changed outfits three or four times during her brief stay in Central City, I think it's pretty clear she loves her clothes. And I personally don't care that much about fashion, but I would lose it a little if someone gave me couture - the fabrics are so nice and pretty, it just unleashes the girly in me. And Felicity is always enthusiastic about everything she loves, so this feels pretty well within parameters. I'm not sure it should be enough to convince her to go out with her boss - that I do think that should take a technology-style bribe - but I don't think it's surprising at all that she flipped out over the dress.

    ReplyDelete
  43. And accepting such an expensive gift from her boss????? That's not our Felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You're better off not watching.

    ReplyDelete
  45. His reaction is going to be epic.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Let's hope so because I have such high hopes for this episode but I'm starting to think that I will be disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It is going to be ok. Olly has to get his act together to be worthy of Felicity. The guy does not have any money, or a place of his own....personally I think she deserves a guy with a job.....Dunno....

    ReplyDelete
  48. Who took Felicity's brain because she needs it back, fast.

Is the show trying to kill my love for Felicity as well as shove Laurel down my throat? I choke, I leave.

    ReplyDelete
  49. That dress is awful, isn't it?

Apparently being on a CW show ate Felicity's brain.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh, no. Time of Death skewered Felicity, and this looks just as bad.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Lust and shiny things can do that to even the smart ones.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Personally, I don't find it charming in the least.

First he buys her a very expensive dress without asking her first if she'll go with him. And then Felicity's brain turns to bubbles because she fall in love with the dress. There is not enough Ewww for this scene.

    ReplyDelete
  53. nah just having the episode written by Wendy Mercer & Beth Schwartz.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm not saying that she doesn't but can this guy be a decent human being? That whole scene was screaming "sexual harassment in the workplace" but the really disturbing part is that she accepted his invitation and didn't tell him that what he's doing is not appropriate because he gave her an expensive dress! What does that say about her? What is happening to the writers?? I hate them for doing this to her, and in my opinion Oliver is 100 times better than Ray even if he doesn't have a place of his own and is currently unemployed.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I actually think the people at CW thought that scene was adorable (plus it had a shirtless BR) that's why they chose it as a sneak peek. No comment.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Seriously!!! After defending Ray and saying about felicity getting a life outside of Arrow cave they give us this. Why are they ruining an awesome character. Last week it was character assassination for Roy this week its Felicity. She is fan girling over a dress? My enthusiasm for Arrow is waning as every episode goes by. I think I just threw up in my mouth. It's time of death and that leather jacket again. I am so disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well its the same female writers who wrote Time of Death. And that think Ray is the male Felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  58. They are essentially writing Felicity OOC in order to push Ray/Felicity forward. This is basically what I call writing for plot and not character. It's just terrible. Felicity is one of the only characters the show gets consistently right, so it's quiet jarring to see her obviously be bribed into a work date by her boss (which is creepy). And the fact that they are going to kiss in this episode makes it worse imo.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I can't wait for this episode to be over so we can get to the crossover with The Flash and the midseason finale. At least they sound like decent episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't care if Felicity has a one night stand with Ray. I don't care if she accepts a dinner invitation from a good looking guy. But I draw a line when a grown ass intelligent woman swoons just because a guy piles her with gifts or costly dresses. That's not romantic. That's degrading the character of Felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's very 'Pretty Woman'... I hated that movie. The Felicity I know wouldn't let herself be bribed like that over a dress no matter how much it costs.

    ReplyDelete
  62. People thinking that Ray is the male Felicity is just insulting to Felicity's character. Ray is just straight up creepy. I thought he was better last week, but then they come up with this... smh

    ReplyDelete
  63. My problem is that the writers think that. And label his behaviour as charming.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I do not care if they are female writers they need to be fired immediately. They are ruining the most likable character in one scene. I have been patient this season. Even though I don't agree with most of the story lines happening this season I get it that we need to change things up.

But the lack of good foundry scenes, lack of Diggle/Felicity, OOC Oliver, OOC Diggle and now superficial air head Felicity... Why on earth am I watching this show when they are butchering all the favorite things I tune in for?

    ReplyDelete
  65. If he wasn't handsome, I'm pretty sure everyone in this fandom would have a problem with him.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Handsome? With those eyes?

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B208WzYIAAEuFgA.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  67. In Pretty Woman Julia Roberts was a hooker. Felicity is an intelligent genius even woman who metaphorically kicks ass of villains every night. The comparison itself is flawed.

    ReplyDelete
  68. In this particular scene I have less problem with Ray and more problem with Felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  69. i have problem with both. And it just seems they are writing the Oliver/Felicity/Diggle trio so OOC this season.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Lmao I can't help that it reminded me of that which in itself is troubling.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Haven't you heard? Laurel is becoming BC, YAAAY. Let's focus on this storyline and ruin everything else, HORAAAY.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Laurel becoming BC has nothing to do with the writers making Felicity OOC. Sorry. As much as I don't care for Laurel, she has nothing to do with this. :/

    ReplyDelete
  73. That actually made me smile, thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Like hot chicks in bikinis to smart guys. Not everyone is like Sheldon Cooper.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Not only Felicity, the whole season is a mess, everyone is acting way OOC

    ReplyDelete
  76. Usually I wouldn't up vote you on something like this but I am bitter now so I will. I get a feeling we are getting the treatment Laurel fans got in season 2 where her character was knocked around to service Oliver and Sara. Now it's our turn and Felicity is getting knocked around to service Barry, Ray and Oliver. Wohoo!!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah, they're both not great here. Him for manipulating her, and her for allowing it.

    ReplyDelete
  78. No doubt. Olly is way hotter than Ray.

Interesting about the whole sexual harassment angle....I wish TV of today was more socially conscious....as you are sooo right. Why would any working woman put up with this stuff?

    ReplyDelete
  79. I am so angry you have no idea, the writers are giving their main focus to some specific storylines and as a consequence they are halfa**ing everything else and writing the characters in the way that serves the plot instead of spending some time on developing the stories naturally.

    ReplyDelete
  80. How ironic that the people who write Felicity the worst are the female writers of the show? I'll be in the corner starting the prayer circle for my girl Felicity. Here's hoping they don't screw her up like how they screwed her in 2x14 (WORST episode of Season 2 BY FAR)

    ReplyDelete
  81. I'd agree but I think the EPs really believe he's charming and a good guy. They talked up the Cary Grant aspect so much in the summer.

I am so tired of this storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Shiny things like new computers and tech, yes. But Felicity has never been an idiot over clothes and why should she be impressed with Ray when she's got Oliver and Diggle shirtless all the time?

Diggle out of character last week, Felicity this week. Who is running the asylum?

    ReplyDelete
  83. I know this has nothing to do with Laurel or BC story line. She most probably won't be featured much this episode. It's the bloody writers of this particular episode the problem.. They have no idea how normal human being behave in situations. Last season it was the awful Lance dinner, this season it is the Ray/Felicity date.

    ReplyDelete
  84. With Oliver/Diggle/Felicity split up, all three of them OOC and most of the episodes about Laurel, this season is a huge disappointment to me.

I want O/D/F back to where they were last year.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I meant he is a better man than Ray but I agree he is more attractive lol

Exactly, she shouldn't put up with this at all especially since we didn't see any romantic sparks between them so his advances should be unwelcomed but for the sake of the plot and since we don't have enough time to develop this relationship naturally let's pretend they are and you know what let's make them kiss while we're at it, if any boss does something like that in real life the subordinate should be at the HR department filing a complaint. What kind of a message are they sending here?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Agreed on crazy message to viewers.

On another selfish note, if they kiss and Olly sees it....OMG...it would be amazing....I will screen capture his face....cause it is going to be epic...

I feel bad, I should have warned you...I am unashamedly shallow when it comes to hottness on tv!

    ReplyDelete
  87. The fact that these two writers are the ones who wrote that god awful Lance family dinner featuring Oliver last season, gives me little hope for this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I thought it was out of character too at first, but than after thinking about it, Felicity is always dressed up really fancy. She's always in nice shoes, heels mostly. If you follow the Arrow fashion blog on Tumblr that finds the actual pieces that she wears and prices them, a lot of them are pretty expensive dresses and outfits. You could argue that was just for work, but then looking back at the first few episodes, even when she didn't work at QC and was just at that Tech Barn place or visiting Barry (not working), she was still really dressed up in nice dresses. Remember the Quiz Night dress she wore on The Flash? Very Fancy! I think fancy clothes may be one of her 'things' along with computers.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I was speaking specifically about his demeanor. His inappropriate decisions are a different topic... and yes, "ewww" does seem to accurately describe them.

    ReplyDelete
  90. LMAO. THIS. I SEE NO LIE.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Ambar Moreno Candelas19 November 2014 at 21:18

This scene is very ridiculous and strange for several reasons:

    1) Is he doing gymnastics at work? What kind of businessman is this man? What kind of businessman does that in his working hours? :S

    2) The dress, her size... Creepy is a small word compared to this :o

    3) He has a nice body (he was Superman) but I don't think Felicity can suspire with that facility. Directors, don't make the ridiculous. Felicity has seen the body of Oliver many times and she has not made this gesture.

    4) Perhaps he is sweaty but is very creepy that he did not put to himself the shirt when Felicity appear. It seems pretty clear that the boss wants to mesmerize the employee.

    5) Of all the employees, of all the women... you ask Felicity one 'date'. Really? Ray knows what he wants.

Sorry, I don't buy a non-existent romantic chemistry between these two. Two characters, 'falling' for each other in one episode. RIDICULOUS! All I hope is that thanks to this, Oliver can see what can lose and do something already!

    ReplyDelete
  92. LOL. I love Felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Its not that bad.

    LMAO!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Hilarical!

Its sooo true....his eyes are nutty in scenes....

    ReplyDelete
  95. Agreed.

To be fair it is hard to kind of come to any conclusions out of context....I think the point that they are trying to make is that women love fashion (whether this is true or not) ....I saw the scene maybe a bit differently, where Felicity was not even worried about Ray so much....she sees the dress and then is all about the clothing and wearing it....Its kinda cool to see, for nerds like me, that are into geeky things and yet still appreciates fashion and being girly once in a while.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Meeee Toooo!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Thank you for a different perspective. I also saw while Felicity was flustered due to less clothing of Ray once the dress came out she was more interested in it than even her tablet. I get where they are going with it. I feel this scene would have worked better in another show but not on Arrow. I am still not impressed.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Yeah, I hear you....but the scene may be used for balance...we may be in for a super dark epi....who knows....

I just can't wait to see Olly's face, a) when he sees her in the dress, b) when she is on the date. Epic I say, epic!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Is she going on a date with Palmer or with the dress? It's funny how she pays more atention to the fact that it's a super expensive dress than her boss asking her out xD

Still, i find it pretty damn hard to defend Ray Palmer... Every time he does a more weird thing. I know he's supposed to have no boundaries, but knowing her sizes is beyond my ground... That was weird...

    ReplyDelete
  100. Liking fancy clothes and shoes is one thing. Accepting them from her boss as a bribe to go out with him is something altogether different. Felicity is smarter and better than that.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Are the writers doing this on purpose? Is Ray continuously buying Felicity off and over stepping his bounds meant to make us uneasy? Or do they actually think this is cute and endearing? I don't think Felicity's reaction to the dress is OOC because just by the way she dresses you know she's into that stuff. What is OOC is Felicity not seeing or commenting on Ray behaviour.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I really think the writers think that this is cute and funny, as opposed to scary and stalkerish.

Felicity does like clothes but the idea that she would agree to go out with this guy just because he got her an expensive dress is very out of character. The real Felicity would have all her warning lights flashing at the inappropriate behaviour, especially knowing her size and buying her clothes. Ewww. This is the woman who stands up to Oliver Queen every time, she's not going to fold for a dress.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I don't like him...

    ReplyDelete
  104. I don't usually approve of guys buying clothes, but Felicity's reaction is too cute.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Sadly he saw them :( I didn't want him to, my heart broke for him he was actually smiling before he saw them :(

I'm starting to see that lol

    ReplyDelete
  106. I too felt for Olly when he saw them, it was definitely bittersweet. However, I hope that this incident gave him the push he needed to man up and really start to realize that the Arrow persona is but part of his life, he needs to assume the mantel of being Oliver Queen AND the Arrow to really be successful and to LIVE. Having a special someone, no matter how dangerous one's lifestyle (I'm talking TV world), is a needed ingredient to be and feel human. IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I agree and I really think that he is trying, it will take him some time but he is trying to live and let the people he loves in his heart, that's why he told Dig that he doesn't want to die alone in the foundry like Sara and that's why he went to get his sister back and is trying to fix his relationship with her and he didn't give up on Roy, he was even willing to open up to Felicity but sadly the season is 23 episodes and he can't do that in the seventh episode lol but kidding aside the fact that he went to Dig's house is a very good character progress, he didn't brood in the dark or suit up and go punch some thugs, no he chose to surround himself by family and allow the people he cares about to be there for him, he wants desperately to live as both Oliver Queen and the Arrow but he doesn't know how to yet, people think that because he is shoving his feelings down and not showing them then he doesn't feel anything, that's not true, it's always the quite ones who are suffering the most and that's a big problem, superheroes carry a huge weight and suffer deeply and they need someone to keep them centered and help them balance their life and make them feel happy and human and give them a reason to live and go on and fight otherwise their mission will consume them and they will lose themselves in the process.
