  1. Nice. I can always use more Felicity/Quentin interactions.

  2. they can't put Brother Eye into Arrow....it's better suited for the Flash IMO

  3. it seems they trying to explain it with SCIENCE! Lol

  4. Agree but i think this will be a case of "we use the name, yet it has nothing to do with it". Yet, they have been teasing OMAC this season already...

  5. damn you science! ;P

But still, using Brother Eye and OMAC as an Ultron esque character would help DC cashing in on Avengers 2

  6. At least, something!!!!

  7. felicity always almost calls lance detective lol

  8. Not cashing in on Age of Ultron Mac. If agree cashing in the NSA conspiracy type stuff/ skynet. Even then though...

  9. OMAC can easily be turned into an Ultron esque villain

  10. Felicity calling Lance. I love their interactions. I wonder if the brother eye will be a one episode thing or it will have far reaching implications?

Laurel acting DA!! *sigh* Is it bad of me to just want the lawyer part of her go away and focus on her training and wild cat.

  11. Brother Eye as well as OMAC eh. They're going all in on that plot.

I wonder if Amanda Waller is pulling the strings of this hacker from Felicity's past. They're gearing up for something with ARGUS alright. Pprobably for the winter/spring episodes once we've had a big clash with the Ra's and the League for winter finale.

  12. so where are those sneak peek for this week episode

  13. There's no problem with Brother Eye appearing on Arrow as that, a terrorist group and later be revealed that it was a program stolen from ARGUS and it is in fact a satellite launched by Amanda Waller, and then we have Brother Eye and possibly OMAC being used on Flash but in separated ways...

  14. During 2005-2007 the OMAC concept was pretty Ultron esque. Because Brother Eye could turn basically half of the people in a town into an OMAC easily and make them counterattack every super being in the planet. There was a group behind the OMACs that was checkmate, but the real villain was the Satellite itself. recently in the new 52 Omac was just one guy but he ended up being controlled by Brother Eye, and in the Brother Eye has managed to transform the majority of superheroes into cyborg bugs. Pretty awesome, that would be well played in the Flash, but the conspiracy part would be well done in Arrow.

  15. I'm wondering if they are going to do Checkmate for Season 4... They kind of teased it by something Waller said.

May i point out that in an interview about the crossover, in the article was stated that The Arrow fights Flash because the latter isn't "himself" and needs to be stoped.

If they manage to do the whole Brother Eye satellite concept grounded, it should be a great start for Waller and Checkmate on Season 4.

I was worried about how they could top Ra's al Ghul as a villain on Season 4 and 5... This would be cool IMO.

I still haven't read Future's End, but may get sooner than i think...

  16. Ladies and gentlemen, Captain Quentin "Detective" Lance the head of the Felicity Smoak fan club lol I love their interactions and it's nice that they will kind of have a scene together in her episode.

  17. Felicity and Lance don't interact enough. I'm hoping the brother eye thing won't be a one-off thing, this season has been pretty meh when it comes to their contained villains/story arcs.

About Laurel- You'll get both this episode, based on the NZ promo. We'll see her training with Ted (and I'm hoping the two will end up stopping a bit of crime during the chaos of the blackout), but she's still a lawyer, even if they're not showing it much this season, it could be interesting to actually see her conflicted between the two.

Oh and does Diggle have a job anymore? Is Oliver still paying him, or is Lyla providing for both of them? It's just something that I suddenly wondered about.

  18. The problem with the lawyer part of Laurel is it always makes her look dumb. They makes her say and do stuff which would never ever happen. I don't mind blinking stuff away as tv liberties a lot when it comes to shows like Arrow. But to believe they will make Laurel who has less then a year's experience in DA's office, who during that time ws fired once for being a drunk is made acting DA (which is a political position) is asking too much. I hope soon Laurel would decide she can't be a lawyer anymore and leave the job.

I thought about Digg too. How is he paying his bills. I guess he is happy being a baby Daddy and house husband. I believe Lyla is providing for both of them.

  19. Laurel as acting DA is a bit contrived. It just seems like the writers want to make her seem relevant (when they don't really have to) so they conveniently made the DA go away on vacation... I was also hoping they will drop all the lawyer stuff because all the lawyer stuff and business/finance stuff is the show's weakest link in terms of writing... Laurel becoming acting DA is just kind of ridiculous :p that's not how the system works because Laurel can't be a senior attorney already. :/ It's no wonder Marc Guggenheim changed his career. He would've sucked as a lawyer.

I too hope she quits the DAs office. She's just a bad lawyer :p Also because there's 24 hours in a day and I find it difficult to believe she works at the DAs office AND learn to fight AND help team Arrow find Sara's killer AND go to AA meetings AND have time for a social life (with Quentin at least). So if they want me to believe that Laurel will become a master of whatever she's learning by the end of this season, she should drop something.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if they make Laurel do a fantastic job and let her become the DA. Hmm.

  20. Poor Quentin, so oblivious to the fact that his daughter's dead. Sigh. On another note, I like Quentin and Felicity interaction. It's fun, hope this isn't all we get of it in this episode.

  21. Okay but the the writers of Arrow one day didn't say, "hey guys let's rip of THe Avengers."

    ReplyDelete
  22. Again doesn't mean they're cashing in on Ultron. There are so many things in fiction that are similar unintentionally. I would be disturbing surprised at the writers of Arrow or DC/WB in general saying they were trying to cash in on the Avengers since they're doing their own thing and trying to be differnt from Marvel.

  23. Meh, I'm ok with ignoring terrible procedural writing when it comes to cops/lawyers, otherwise I'd never be able to watch Hannibal. Characters acting OOC or shows ruining characters bothers me more than any case aspect. But that's just me. I also don't know how Lance went from a police officer to Captain, when even before the demotion he was just a detective. He makes Gordon's rise in ranks in the Nolan trilogy (or Debra's rise in Dexter) look average. I need to see first what they do with the whole "the DA is out of town" story line before I judge it. I do think eventually Laurel will have to decide between being a lawyer and a vigilante (though she'd still have to find a job to pay the bills, maybe open a florist shop or take over the one that's popping up soon).

I hope Amanda is paying Lyla enough to support her family, if Diggle isn't working. I guess it works out, if Lyla (if she's done with maternity leave and is working) works during the day and Diggle helps Oliver out at night.

  24. I don't mind convenient writing for criminal, medical or technological procedures on the show as long as it keeps the show interesting. Otherwise how would I believe half the things that come out of Felicity's mouth? But Laurel and her lawyer part is always written badly and added on as an after thought. I liked it during the initial episodes of CNRI days. Once she joined DA's office it's become ridiculous. It's not Laurel becoming acting DA that irks me it's the fact of her being sacked for being a drunk part. At least Quentin never lost his job because of his drinking problem. I just want Laurel to decide she can't be a lawyer any more and do something else for a living.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think they are using this as a first step for her to choose between her job and training. I think she will decide she wants to be a vigilante more than being a lawyer. I hope they do so.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, they really suck at writing Laurel-the lawyer and I have so many issues with S2, the whole "Laurel getting fired and then blackmailing her way back into the job" is just a small issue for me. If I could handle Debra's rise to Captain on Dexter, I can accept a lot of BS from shows. But I'm with you, I'd rather Laurel quit being a lawyer, find a different job and just focus on being a vigilante.

  27. After writing the above comment about Quentin I realized he was fired and arrested in season 2. But the funny thing about that is he was arrested for aiding the vigilante and he was promoted again for the same reason. LOL. Individually when you look at lawyer stuff of Laurel each blunder is not that big deal. But when you look as a whole you realize that is a major aspect of the character writers screwed up. She was working at CNRI in season 1. Then come season 2 no mention of CNRI or it's clients whose papers she bravely saved. I always felt they put her in DA's office only to make her the prosecutor in Moira's trial. They should have shown us Laurel building CNRI back up instead of all the crap in season 2. The character can only benefit not being a lawyer.

    ReplyDelete
  28. LOL, I also forgot about Quentin getting arrested for helping the vigilante, I guess that issue runs in the family. They really half assed things in S2 and I feel like a lot of Laurel's (and Thea's) character development ended up on the cutting room floor or the writers not expanding on things they should have. Laurel really didn't do much in the DA's office in S2 and hasn't actually been seen working a case in S3, I like your idea of her building CNRI back up. If Laurel isn't a lawyer, I wonder what she'd end up doing. Either way, I just care about her Black Canary story line with Ted at the moment, so as long as I get plenty of that, I'm good.
