The Dec. 2 episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will finally reveal that its mysterious blue man from outer space — the one whose rejuvenating blood saved the life of Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) — is a member of the humanoid Kree race. Yes, that's the same alien species that gave us Lee Pace's character, Ronan the Accuser, in the Marvel movie blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy. But all this means bupkis to Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team.
"Our people don't know anything about the Kree or that there's a planet full of them," notes executive producer Jeffrey Bell. "What they do know is that the strange carvings created by Coulson after he was injected with the Kree serum are actually the map of a city, and they need to find that city before Hydra does. But where is it? Here or on another planet?"
Similarly, her not-always-trusty cohort Raina (Ruth Negga) — again, no last name — was able to touch the deadly alien obelisk and survive without harm.
"You'll find out that Skye and Raina have something in common — and it's not that they're brunettes," Bennet says with a laugh. "Some of our überfans think the two of them are aliens. Or maybe they're something else — something different and special. It's all leading to a reveal that's mother-effing crazy."

maybe Raina and Skye are siblings?
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty popular theory and I could see it being true.
ReplyDeleteAlready knew this but it's still exciting. Skye's definitely an Inhuman, though (and damn it, Chloe needs to have a major role in Inhumans if that's the case). God, I'm still both excited and terrified for the next few episodes.
ReplyDeleteSure to be seeing more of the Kree when Carol Danvers shows up in the verse, which definitely needs to be before her movie in 2018 and would be kind of cool of the AOS gang ran into a United States Air Force pilot during there many adventures.
ReplyDeleteNah.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see we finally have confirmation! This confirms that the city is Attilan more and more. And I love the theory that The Doctor is Maximus the Mad (who's an Inhuman and is brothers with Blackbolt, leader of the Inhumans). The Diviner will probably be the object that will locate Attilan and will be the equivalent of the Terrigen Crystals and the mist will reveal that there are Inhumans on Earth and Skye will be among them. That would be the perfect startup for the Inhumans movie.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, that would be a cool twist.
ReplyDeleteNo they are not, they have connection but it is connection of the Diviner. When Raina touched it The Diviner changed her in some way, like Skye's mother she has connection to Raina because of the diviner.
ReplyDeleteThis will be one of the most interesting things that we will find out after Skye's secret origin and what she is.
ReplyDeleteThis makes the Inhuman thing almost definite, since the Kree created the Inhumans by experimenting on people and turning thém into half human, half Kree hybrids.
ReplyDeleteI believe Marvel said that they won't be doing any more origin stories in the movies (well, not in the foreseeable future), so it makes sense to use AoS for that instead. They can always give a brief recap of the important stuff from AoS in the beginning of the Inhumans movie so that people who don't watch the show aren't confused.
It's actually pretty clever. Movies are too short to really flesh out the mythology of the world and characters, especially a blockbuster that needs a lot of superhero action and explosions. AoS can be used to fill in these blanks and flesh out elements of the MCU that they don't have time to expand on in the movies... that's actually exactly what they've been doing with Hydra and the fall of SHIELD, which Captain America 2 only touched on.

ReplyDeleteSo excited! Raina and Skye have Inhuman heritage? Is 'Raina' even Raina's real name, or is it something she gave herself, like Skye did 'Skye'? Is Skye's Dad an Inhuman? Skye's Mum? Are they Inhumans who just happened to live in that Chinese village? SO MANY QUESTIONS.
ReplyDeleteOdds are they are both Inhumans and the Diviner recognised the Kree in their DNA so didn't harm them.
ReplyDeleteYeah i think something like that too, but about Raina i'm not so sure.
ReplyDeleteWell it's all speculation at this point but we'll finally get some concrete answers in the next episode but it would be really cool to open up the Inhumans universe this early.
ReplyDeleteRain comes from the sky...
ReplyDeleteso we have a Kree on SHIELD AWESOMESAUCE!!! i wonder if he was evil or good, did we have another Ronan on our hands
ReplyDeleteNope. Skye's bio dad did not treat like she was....I think they are both half Kree (by the way, this is also the name of an Aboriginal group spelt Cree), and half human. Skye's dad is probably the only human that knows the secret of the mixed ancestry of the two girls and how said ancestry can be determined through the obelisk. My bet, is that the city that everyone with Kree blood is carving is where the pure blood Kree's can be found.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes you think of her as inhuman....? Just curious....
ReplyDeleteI wish she would have special powers and such....
I don't get it....link just comes back to this thread....
ReplyDeleteI was leaning towards Kree before but the fact that we found out about the Inhumans movie tipped me over to the Inhuman side completely. And the city seems like it's Attilan, which is Inhuman, and everything is connected in the MCU so it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteForgive me! I totally read your comment wrong, I thought you were calling her inhuman a person with no empathy etc....hilarical.
ReplyDeleteOn another note....how did you make your is bold?
