maybe one set during the civil war? or maybe one set on slavery, as that was a true American horror, but I like it when AHS tackles social/real life issues like Season 1 was marriage problems between almost all of the ghosts in the house, season 2 dealt with lots of social issues, coven was not really about social issue, though I do think it was about the withering of a generation along with the rising of the next one and the struggle that ensues. Season 4 is clearly about the underrepresented and giving them a voice. So, I hope whatever AHS does next, it's about something more tangible and relevant
ReplyDeleteVictorian London, Hotel, and Alien/skyfi
ReplyDeleteVampires, Twisted Fables, and Space.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Hotel on the list, but I really want to see American Horror Story: Roswell. Or American Horror Story: Area 51. I know that Aliens were touched on in season 2, but damnit I want to see Area 51!
ReplyDeleteWell Victorian London is out...for obvious reasons. FX should have gone with a global horror series spin-off to AHS instead of that American Crime Story...ugh. Anyway, the way this show blends genres and is just so bizarre, it's become hard for me to even fantasize subject matters because it would probably be so far removed from what I imagined.
ReplyDeleteBut a few ideas I like that I've seen thrown around: something involving "aliens" and parallel planes of existence, something along the lines of American Gothic (look it up!), a season following paranormal investigators (like Freakylinks, look it up!), an amusement park (would have to be several seasons away since we are having a freak show right now), cursed town, something centered around an old village in older times, where a folk tale has come to life.. and something involving Native Americans and related myths for sure.
oh man, so many good ideas
ReplyDeleteI'm for a more simply setting Underground or something, about ravish street kids, prostitutes, mafia they can even introduce bloodsuckers and with a lot of killing.
ReplyDeleteSorority would be a nice option as well, if their cast wasn't that old. But College or something like that could work out well.
Victorian London would be a nice setting as well.
Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Alexander Dreymon, and Jamie Brewer would play the College / University students well Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy the teachers.
ReplyDeleteI like the Twisted Fables idea but I hope next season they do what they originally had planned for S3: a story inspired by the Manson family.
ReplyDeleteHotel, if it's really haunted and creepy like in The Shining.
ReplyDeleteTwisted Fables sounds like an interesting concept for AHS! I'd love to see their approach
ReplyDeleteTo me, Murder House or Hotel would be the same...
ReplyDeleteI bet we'll have an "Area 51" themed season next year :-)
ReplyDeleteWhatever they do, I want dark, twisty and creepy. Not freaky, cheesy and gory. I want it to actually be about horror, not cheap stunts and thrills.
ReplyDeleteI like the Twisted Fables idea and the hotel idea.
The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida would be a good back story, or
Joshua Ward House, Witch House or Lizzie Borden House in Massachusetts. All good stories to draw from.
American Horror Story - The Phantom Hitchhiker.
American Horror Story - The Devil's Tramping Ground (in North Carolina)
Something with Sci-fi. They teased it so well in Asylum. The whole thing kind of fell flat though.
ReplyDeleteIf not, something "punky" (1980ish) or dystopian.
of these choices, victorian london or the fables. Both would be very unique. The rest seem like typical horror routes, plus Ryan Murphy is doing a comedy horror for Fox about sorority/campus life now. I think one set somewhere urban might be cool too, like in NYC or something. All the seasons have been in more rural areas or suburban. A lot can be done with a setting like NYC and the history that goes along with it
ReplyDeleteJust hotel. Twisted fables is too much like Grimm and zombie apocalypse is done well on TWD.
ReplyDeleteHotel, Victorian London & Twisted Fables! No more vampires or werewolves please.
ReplyDeleteI picked Hotel / Stalker / Other, but I also like Sorority and Twisted Fables, that last one sort of like Grimm Fairy Tales Comics from Zenescope, but then more darker. With other I was thinking about maybe Prison-type setting...
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a Wild West brothel type or a summer camp.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Victorian London is an option is baffling enough but so many actually voting for it? Okay...
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see sething along the lines of a cult or a tribe.
i would like something in the roaring twenties era
ReplyDeleteHmmm to much of a Coven vibe! But if they do it right I wouldn't mind.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Horror Story in Space!
ReplyDeleteTwisted Fables would be cool... I still think next season is about aliens though
ReplyDeleteVampires and werewolves. A war between and the forever romeo and juleit stry between a werewolf and a vampire xD
ReplyDeleteCome on people..........let's try and think outside of the "old box".
ReplyDelete1) Sci -Fi - Blade Runner theme season
2) Mythological - Godlings coming of age theme season
3) Action - Monster Hunters theme season
These are the three I'd really like to see next on American Horror Story! Nobody 4 NOW!!!
American Gothic ! ......... Amazing Original Creeeeepy & So Very Very Ahead Of It's Time ! ! !
ReplyDeleteAlso- Sarah Paulson !
Sheriff Lucas Buck - that's Buck with a B
Someone's at the door
Haha it's pretty cool that Sarah Paulson is in both of the only shows l love with "American" in the title. And ironically they're both horror. :p
ReplyDeleteAmerican Horro Story: Hotel. The creepy stuff that can happen in hotels, brr.
ReplyDeleteTwisted fairy tales and Victorian times sound the best to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's AMERICAN horror story.. so Victorian London would never happen.
ReplyDeleteWould like to see a story in a water-based location (a cruise ship or a beach), a winter setting with lots of snow or a radiation/chemical waste-related incident. :P
ReplyDeleteI think there had to be a further information for the options. I don't really understand what does 'sorority', 'twisted fables', 'victorian london' or 'stalker' themed seasons mean. Moreover, zombies were used on Coven, aliens took part on Asylum, Civil war was mentioned on Coven too, same as the holocaust on Asylum. So I don't think those ideas will happen on AHS... But I do have a crazy idea for a long time about a 'hell' themed season: one character would portray Satan and maybe a character for God and other angels, and everyone else are the habitats who are being tortured for their sins (might be a little like Lost, total strangers came to a horrible place together without knowing the reasons behing their arrive and they Have to survive together). What do you think? If so, who would have the crazy role of Satan? And is Lance Reddick's Coven character going to come back?
ReplyDeleteTwisted Fables, Victorian London and Aliens.
