Returning Dramas Join the Reality Hit "Big Brother" and the
New Drama "Zoo" on CBS's 2015 Summer Line-Up
CBS announced today that the hit series UNDER THE DOME and EXTANT will return for broadcast in summer 2015. Both from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, UNDER THE DOME returns for its third season, and EXTANT for its sophomore season.

EXTANT, starring Academy Award winner Halle Berry, won its 10:00 PM time period with 8.64 million viewers, 1.7/06 in adults 18-49 and 2.3/07 in adults 25-54. In addition to their broadcast on the Network, UNDER THE DOME and EXTANT had additional viewing on Amazon’s Prime Instant Video, which provided exclusive online subscription streaming four days after the airing on CBS.
For summer 2015, UNDER THE DOME and EXTANT will join the previously announced freshman drama ZOO, based on James Patterson's bestselling novel, and the next edition of the summer reality hit BIG BROTHER, which has been renewed for 2015 and 2016.

Oh I've been considering picking up Extant so this is good news :)
ReplyDeleteYay!
ReplyDeleteWhat?! Extant is renewed?
ReplyDeleteI loved the show and honestly didn't expect this.
Wow, I am shocked that "Extant" got renewed.
ReplyDeleteHow did Extant get renewed?
ReplyDeleteGreat news for Extant, I was getting doubtful. I feel like UtD is best towards the very beginning and very end of the seasons, they should just wrap it up with season 3, maybe they could recoup some viewers if they advertised it as such.
ReplyDeleteBecause it's awesome, and one of the few unique things CBS has to its name? lol. Although I'm a bit surprised too.
ReplyDeleteUnder The Dome is a bit of a mess, but it's something to watch during the summer and I am curious to see how things will turn out so I'm glad it was renewed.
ReplyDeleteI imagine the deal CBS has with Amazon Prime for the show makes it financially feasible.
ReplyDeleteLol. I watched the first episode and thought it was awful. Weird.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with a new strategy this season. Just wait and see.
ReplyDeleteWow - Extant ranks right up there with BatB & TM as unexpected renewals. Waiting to hear about UnF....
ReplyDeleteTrue.
ReplyDeleteIs that strategy... to starve yourself?
ReplyDeleteBad shows have an interesting habit of dragging down the good ones. Or taking up valuable air time that could be better devoted to good television.
ReplyDeleteSo, can you eat them, rather than letting them live?
ReplyDeleteI'm betting on getting a bigger meal later on by releasing the small fries. I'm still more or less in hibernation, I don't NEED to eat them right now.
ReplyDeleteYou're a very particular bear, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteLast season I ate a lot of popular shows. This season I'm looking to step up the rampage.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you steer clear of my shows, feel free to eat whatever you want.
ReplyDeleteExtant's renewal surprises me, Under the Dome not so much. Let's see how messy the new season will be.
ReplyDeleteHow the hell did Extanat get renewed?
ReplyDeleteI liked reckless. pity!
ReplyDeleteFor purely curiosity's sake, what are your favorite shows?
ReplyDeleteSurprised about Extant, must be really cheap.
ReplyDeleteReally pleased about Under the Dome, loved the finale! But no surprise there, the show is still a great performer!
waiting for CBS to renew Unforgettable
ReplyDeleteScorpion, Blacklist, NCIS, NCIS LA, Person of Interest, Flash, Arrow, The 100, Criminal Minds, Elementary and Hawaii Five-0. Take any of those and I might take up hunting ;)
ReplyDeleteDon't really want Red Band Society, Madam Secretary, The Following or Stalker gone but I can cope.
Have free choice at the other stuff.
Was just going to ask about this one..Hoping they do..
ReplyDeleteDidn't see this coming for Extant, xpecially after Halle Berry signed a deal with CBS for some show produced by herself.
ReplyDeleteYes for Under The Dome! Now I'm just waiting for Witches of East End and Graceland
ReplyDeleteI liked Reckless, but i never really saw how the story can continue after one season. Still sad, though, because it was a great summer show.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised about Extant.
ReplyDeletenever watched Extant, guess I'll pick it up
ReplyDeleteHow in the hell was Extant renewed?
ReplyDeleteDon't bother. It's not good. I wasted my life watching it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think any of these would get renewed. I fell asleep during the first episode of Extant and I just wanted Under the Dome out just so Dean Norris can find a better role to play in xD
ReplyDeleteI want the longshot, Reckless, to be renewed.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear UTD was renewed. Hope the story gets better next season, this one was kinda all over the place. But still fun to watch lol
ReplyDeleteWell no suprise here, Reckless was pure camp, you could say that by only watching intro
ReplyDeletehmmm interesting news.... UtD for me started off well, but by the end of S1 was losing steam and after a decent 1st ep for S2, went off the rails for me and I dropped it and some of the reactions from the polls seemed to indicate that it didn't improve much, but I'm not aware how the ratings were for this latest season so perhaps that is what saved it. Extant started off with a lot of promise and overall was a decent show, but after a promising start, really slowed down and the writing felt to me like it meandered around a bit with no sense of urgency and the season finished with some large unfinished plot holes, but enough that I could see where they might continue if renewed.... I may check out Extant next summer depending what else is on, but it wont be a priority
ReplyDeleteSeriously? Sorry, but no. I gave up on Under the Dome after one season, and I'm doing the same with Extant. It was pretty much all I could do just to get through it this summer.
ReplyDeleteits surprising to me both of these got renewed...i even actually kinda enjoyed Extant to a degree (b/c i would run out of other stuff to watch basically)..the husband is the most bland character on tv and to be honest Halle B. needs to step it up a notch..could be a great show if they update the plot w/more action..under the dome i quit watching after the first episode of season 2..just couldnt do it anymore, took to long to get to the point and the acting is just cheesy at best..too many kids in it slowing that one down, dean norris is decent but needs to move on to something more high profile for his skills
ReplyDeleteSo sad about Reckless, I really liked the character interaction.
ReplyDeleteWord is that Amazon is paying $900K per episode for each series. There you go! I think Variety had a story on lit in June.
ReplyDeleteGood for Under the Dome! It's not high-quality television but they can't end in a cliffhanger. Surprised about Extant, I might watch it now.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but not surprised that Reckless was cancelled
ReplyDeleteI like Under the Dome despite how bad it is. I'll watch it the next summer.
ReplyDeleteI liked Extant (didn't love it though) but I'm not sure I'll be returning fro season 2. Under the Dome is utter rubbish. I feel bad for Norris and Vogel, who I like as actors and continue to be associated with such a bad show.
ReplyDeleteExtant started with a lot of potential, had its faults but it was still a solid summer show. Better than almost anything else on CBS these days.
ReplyDeleteI love Under the Dome. Fantastic news!
ReplyDeleteOh dang it!
ReplyDeleteYeah it is fancy and solid at the same time and the actors are very good. Not bored by characters interaction as I am with Under the Dome.
ReplyDeleteWith all the reviews on Extent, I'm very surprised.
ReplyDeleteglad Under The Dome got renewed :)
