*I haven't read the comics so can't base my predictions from them, only what I see in the TV series.
Who do you think will die?
After last Sunday's episode I thought it would be a good idea to update the article, giving any new thoughts on who might die during the rest of the season.
I created this article around the time episode 1 aired in the United States. So far I have been 50% correct with predicting, with Gareth and Bob being two of the characters I said would die this season. Tyreese and Beth also have died, but I said they were both likely to survive... (I also said I wanted Noah to die, so I got my wish)
Over 7000 of you voted in the poll and the top three most likely to die were Noah (1334 votes), Glenn (985 Votes) and Rosita (925 votes). I have restarted the poll once more after the death of Noah, so please vote again!
I think if they killed Daryl people would actually riot. He is the fan favorite. I would love for them to explore further him and Carol's relationship, which they haven't done much since early season 4. The writers say that nobody is safe, but I think we can safely assume Daryl is. I am not sure the writers want to take the risk of killing him off, as there might be a lot of fan backlash which would follow it.
Although he is probably one of my least favorite characters, I think we can say for sure he will survive beyond season 5. There is so much more character development they can do with him. He started off on the show as a weak little boy, and now he has turned into a strong character, which worryingly resembles Shane. I also think if they killed of Carl Rick wouldn't be able to move on.
Michonne is a safe bet. She won't be dying this season. She hasn't had too much to do this season, but she is slowly becoming a mother figure for Carl. She helps him through a lot. She desperately wants to find somewhere where they can call home, and I can see them finding it. She is tough as nails, and like Rick will do what is necessary to survive.
Rick is the fearsome group leader, who has become emotionless, and more violent as the show has progressed. He knows how to survive, and what he must to keep his friends, and family alive. He will stop at nothing to protect them all, and will continue to do what he thinks is right to achieve that. If he were to die it would shatter the group, he has been their leader for such a long time, and without him leading them I'm not sure who would step up. I don't think he will die this season.
After seeing Morgan reappear in the closing minutes of the first episode, I doubt we can expect him to die in season 5. They wouldn't bring him back just to kill him off. He knows how to survive alone, which he has been doing for some time at that town; he also knows when not to trust someone. I also think he has a bigger role to play within the show when he finally catches up to Rick.
She is my favourite on the show, so I hope she doesn't die. They have done so much with Carol's character over the years. She can now survive on her own and isn't afraid to kill any more like she was in season 1. I really thought she was going to die in season 2, season 3 or 4 and she has survived this long so I can see her living beyond this season. If they wanted to make a heart-breaking death though, they could have her die in Daryl's arms. That would shatter the audience. The actress herself has one a few awards for her role, so I think they still need someone of her calibre on the show. They could take advantage of her being on the show, when thinking about Emmy's, Saturn awards and others, as she always delivers an outstanding performance. Having said that I am not sure how much more they can do with Carol as she has developed a lot over the seasons. If they wanted a shock and awe death, she would be the one I would go with, because she means so much to the group.
Abraham is a strong survivor who can literally kill anything with his bare hands. He is not afraid of anything and has military experience. If it came down to it he would risk his life to save anyone in the group, as that's the type of man he is. He wont be dying this season as he is too much of an important character to die.
We haven't spent much time with her since she joined the group, we don't know too much about her. I don't think she will die this season, but she will die in season 6 for sure. I am hoping they give her an interesting storyline or something worth seeing from her in the upcoming episodes.
Out of all of the Grimes family, she is the most likeliest to die. The reason being, her inclusion in things makes it harder for the group to actually execute their plans. They always now have to worry about protecting her, and it can get in the way, especially if they were being attacked by a group, someone would have to look after the baby at all times. Moving forward this could be a real struggle. I don't think we can expect her death this season, as if they wanted to kill Judith off they would have done so in the mid-season finale when we already thought she was dead. She should live through this season, but perhaps not the next one.
I initially thought that he might die this season, but now I still think he might have a huge part to play in the groups future. The last couple of episodes he has become stronger, and is starting to understand that the world he lives in now isn't made for cowards. He is becoming an asset to the group, his knowledge of everything is what's needed if the group are going to survive. He will live beyond this season.
I now think both will survive this season,but one will die next season. They have explored enough of their relationship. The foreshadowing last season when they burned the picture of Maggie indicates to me that one won't make it. I originally said Glenn will die out of the paring, but after him witnessing Noah's death I can't see the writers killing him off. They will likely explore the impact that Noah's death had on Glenn, as he seemed distressed watching his friend die before his eyes. Neither of them will die this season, but next season I think Maggie will die just so the writers can kill off the entire Greene clan.
This is a tough one; it could go either way with her. After Bob's death, and now Tyreeses's she has no family left. Tyreese helped her through her grief after seeing Bob die, but now he is gone she is alone. She might die this season, but I think the writers will keep her around so they can focus on her grief of losing her brother. She might become a stronger survivor from it.
I think she will die this season; she hasn't done much since she arrived at the start of the season, and is one of them characters who are just there to build up the numbers (a background character like T-Dog). Her death wouldn't be shocking, as not many people would care, but it would have an effect on Abraham which could better develop his character. If they wanted to kill of a character just because they needed to she would be my guess.
Despite Gabriel being a weak survivor as he struggles to defend himself, he is in some ways the new Hershel. Like Hershel he wants peace in the world, and he has become the moral support for the group. He can offer guidance when it’s needed, and I think that's important for the group, especially now after the loss of two of their own. Having said that, after what he did in episode 5.14 I can see Rick killing him at some point, the group doesn't like betrayal, especially by one of their own.
I don't think I have ever hated a character more than I do with Noah. He has been extremely irritating to watch, and has managed to get two of the core group killed during his short time spent with them. He was partly to blame for Beth and Tyreese's deaths. I don't think he will die this season, as I have a strange feeling him and Morgan are related in some way, but if he were to die I would leap out of my seat with joy.
Tyreese is another one of my favourites on the show. Throughout the show he has remained strong, and determined to live despite everything that has happened to him. Since I think there are many more characters that are more likely to die than him, I think he will live beyond this season. He also hasn't developed much or had that many interesting storylines.
I have been saying for seasons now that Beth will die, but she has surprised me and has stayed alive. After last season surviving with Daryl she learned a few things, like how to survive. There is a lot more potential character development with her, and I think she will at least be reunited with the group before she bites the dust. I can't see her being back with the group before mid-season though, maybe even the whole season. Her storyline in that facility looks to be an interesting one which I am sure they will explore in detail. I think also she will escape it, and we will see a lot of her on her own trying to survive. This would an interesting angle for Beth.
While they explored a bit of his character last season with how he met the core group of survivors, I can see him dying this season. I really want to see how Sasha's character handles the death of Bob since they are now together. In Season 4 we only got 1 Major death from our group (not including governor). I can see at least 3 deaths this season as previous seasons there has been at least 2-3 in each. He is one of the most likely to die this season.
Gareth will almost certainly die this season, I cannot see him lasting like the governor did for multiple seasons. He will be killed off probably by the mid-point in the season, hopefully by Rick. I would also hate for them to drag out the terminus storyline too long since they have already escaped it. So it is pointless of him being alive.

ReplyDeleteI definitely think Maggie or Glenn will die. What would be the best option would be to keep one of them alive as it could make an interesting storyline especially if Glenn dies and Maggie is pregnant.

ReplyDeleteAt this point, I don't care, so long as they don't kill the power couple Carol and Daryl. But I agree with almost all predictions and also think there is a big chance Morgan was brought back for the spin-off, which leaves me wondering if this spin-off could take place from when Rick left the town. TWD followed Rick, the spin-off would follow Morgan. I'd dig that.

ReplyDeleteI'm a little worried that Carol may get the chop, if the powers that be want a death that will really shock us, it's her. On the other hand, TV Carol seems to be (to me at least) the equivilent of Comic Andrea, so maybe that guarantees her safety for now (fingers crossed!). I agree that either Maggie or Glenn will go (soooo forshadowed!).

I will be crushed, totally crushed, if Glenn dies. He's been my fave since the beginning and I just don't think I could handle it! If the couple must die, I prefer Maggie to go. I love her, but I think Glenn has been a little lucky so far, his biggest losses were Dale and Hershel...he loved them but he hasn't lost an actual love yet. I think it could talk be interesting to see how he recovers from that.

Always hoping for Rick lol but Judith could be.... If Carol, Daryl or Mischonne die, for me the show dies.... I definitely think Glenn will go over Maggie, at least I hope, but if Beth dies and Glenn dies, think it'll be too much for Maggie... So my bet is Maggie over Glenn.... Bob has to go, not interesting... Garreth maybe, maybe not, depends on how they are taking the storyline

ReplyDeleteShe has been filming. Lennie James that plays Morgan wasn't seen at all, yet there he was at the end of ep 1. She films in the studio rather than on location because of her storyline.
ReplyDeleteBob is going to die soon, before mid-season. He will be bitten by a walker, then kidnapped and partially eaten by Gareth and finally put down back at Gabriel's church. Gareth and his remaining group will be killed by Team Rick.
Second half of the season, Tyreese dies. That's all the deaths for now, but they are still filming.
Daryl won't die b/c amc not Kirkman owns the rights and he's just too great an asset right now. I think Bob, Tara and Gareth are front-runners for death. And I have to also add Carol-but it's mostly b/c Melissa has been so weepy and effusive at promos. I had a difficult time liking or understanding the character, but some research on Traumatic Brain Injury as a result of chronic domestic violence finally made the character more sympathetic. Glenn or Maggie will die but possibly not until S06. Rosita is BIG in the comics so i doubt she'll die soon.

ReplyDeleteSo do I , after a pretty slow fourth season (mostly the first half) , and some of 4b I hope they can pick up the pace a bit , and have every episode really intense like the premiere was.

ReplyDeleteShe isn't gone just yet, I know we haven't seen her for a while , but I still think she will reunite with the group. Maybe not soon , but later on. Where she is at the moment can create some great story lines for her character.

ReplyDeleteJudith isn't in the comics, but I don't think she will die. Killing a baby wouldn't go over well. Glen will die, but @ Negan's hands so that will be in another season. If/when Glenn dies Maggie will be in the spin off. I don't think Eugene really has a cure, he's just lying to stay alive.
ReplyDeleteI don't want her to but I kind of have a feeling that maybe Sasha will die. I don't know why, but I think they'd kill her off to have some impact. Bob might die instead but who would notice really. I'm worried Glenn will die and I think he will soon, if not S5 then S6 for sure. It would be devastating but I can see it happening. If both died at the same time (aka Sun and Jin in Lost) I'll never recover, but if they want to go a dark, shocking and heart-breaking route, I can see the two lovers dying together.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone has picked Glenn over Maggie to die. Bob is currently leading the poll with 600+ votes so I think everyone agrees Bob is a goner. I hope I am right about Tyreese it would be such a shame if they killed him off as we haven't seen much of him in terms of development.

And when people talk about the emotional impact his death could have and that it has been foreshadowed a dozen times I try to justify it as a reason why he'll make it. ReplyDeleteI am guessing Maggie and Glenn will go down together this season and they will make it sad and dramatic (like they did with Jin and Sun on LOST), Gareth alos wont survive the season but I dont agree abouth Judith I am thinking that the group might seperate each other again because of Terminus people and Judith stays alone with Carl (kinda like she ended up with Carol ant Thyreese)

That would be sad for them to die together , Sun and Jin's death was beyond sad even I had tears in my eyes. They could separate again as the group is very big at the moment especially since there travelling on the road again. If they are in smaller groups we could see more character development and dialogue between characters.

ReplyDeleteI don't think they can keep there humanity anymore they have been through enough to show them , that anyone can be a threat. If Carol dies I will be very mad. I was mad when Dale died and was even madder when they killed Hershel off. If another one of my favorites dies I wouldn't like the show as much as I used to.

ReplyDeleteI don't think Sasha will die , they can do a lot more with her character. Judging by the poll everyone including myself believe he is a goner. (800+). They could do more with his character , but if they needed someone who isn't all that important and would affect someone if they died. It would be him.

ReplyDeleteI saw that you have a one off article coming up comparing the comic to the show, similar to a article I will be doing later in November GOT Books vs Show. I have heard a few things about the comics , but I don't really want to know anything about TWD that hasn't happened on the show yet (I like to be surprised). I don't mind hearing about things in the comics up to where the show is now though.
ReplyDeleteWho I really really don't want to be: Rick, Carol, Maggie, Daryl, Beth and Carl (because of his relationship with Rick). This show destroys me with this fear that they will kill them off. However, I think every major death has been extremely well handled and worked very well for the show, with a major exception: Andrea. Her death was not a surprise at all, didn't serve the plot at all (had minimal consequences for all characters, if any) and prevented a lot of potential story-lines with her character such as the fallout of her relationship with all survivals.
ReplyDeleteThere are others who would be heartbreaking such as Gleen, Judith or Michonne but I could somehow survive them. Just please not the five mentioned above.
As far as likelihood goes, I feel like someone from the Bob| Sasaha | Tyresse trio will die, someone from the Eugene | Rosita | Abraham trio will die and I am pretty sure someone pre-Seaosn 4 will also die. Glenn is a very good bet and it would be indeed devastating.
I really hope it isn't her.

I believe Judith's biggest "safe" is that they already did the grieving storyline that would come from her death last year. It would feel like a repeat, not sure what it would accomplish.
ReplyDeleteI feel like both Dale and Hershel's deaths served the storyline well, both in terms of the reactions the other characters had but also in the way they propelled the storyline and allowed it to move forward. The one character I really hate that they've killed off was Andrea.
ReplyDeleteCarol just gone a thumbs up from the writers to stay, they were thinking about killing her off but Melissa argued her case and they kept her alive. I think it would be weird to then kill her this season. As for Tara, she's a very well-rounded important character from the fallout of the prison and i don't think they will be killing her off anytime soon? I want to say the same for Glenn or Maggie- every season i say they wont die but this season is giving off bad vibes :( Rosita is on my list, along with Bob and Gareth. Although i think Gareth will be the last of the 3 to die. Judith is good i mean why go through the 'is she dead?' arc and then a reunion if she's just gonna die. Morgan is 50/50 with me. He could just be here to move the plot along and then when things go south- x. Sasha, Tyreese, and Beth are a big ?who knows? And everyone else i haven't mentioned is most likely safe. :)
ReplyDeleteRick is the show for me. It wouldn't be TWD without him IMO. I love badass Carol and Maggie, and really like to see the journeys of other characters like Beth and Daryl but at the end of the day, my favorite character will always be Rick. He is the most fascinating character IMO. And I just adore Andrew Lincoln, he is fabulous and SO underrated.
ReplyDeleteI'd love Eugene to die. I'd be ok with Beth, Judith, Tara, Rosita, Bob, and Gareth dying. I could live with Tyresse, Sasha, Abraham, and Maggie (she's never been one of my favorites) dying. I would be upset about Carol, Carl and Morgan (because I want to know more about his story) dying. I do not want Glenn, Rick, and Michonne to die. Daryl can not die!
ReplyDeleteI think Gareth for sure is going to die. Like Rick said he was going to do, he will be killed by Rick's machete probably in the mid season finale. Bob will die in a way to redeem himself and to save the group in some way. And Tara will die, mostly since the cast is getting overcrowded and the audience doesn't have an attachment to her really. If I had to pick a fourth it would be Beth.

ReplyDeleteAfter Rick and Michonne, Maggie is my favorite living character. But i lot of people love her, that's one of the reason i think she'll go. More emotional death for the audience. And remember the burnt picture, was Maggie not Glenn. That doesn't bode well.
ReplyDeletepretty good predictions and I would agree that Gareth is guaranteed to perish with the earlier rumors that they were casting the next big bad of the next big plotline in the comics of Negan, Gareth will certainly not last longer than this season (I hope)... as for the others who are part of the family, Bob seems likely and if the writers want a shocker for the fans, my guess would go to either Judith or seemingly likely Tyreese - who with his plot of not being able to be hard enough to kill walkers/bad humans (and I'm guessing that he left the guy in the cabin alive and that will be his demise with all the foreshadowing) and in the comics both Judith and Tyreese didn't make it out of the prison story

ReplyDeleteIf they kill of Carol I will be so annoyed. I think the big 6 you named at the top (Rick etc) one of them could die, as they are all major characters. I saw a post earlier on one of TWD fan's fb pages that there will be more than one major character death this season which makes me fear even more that Carol will die. A lot of people including myself think Glenn is going to die, but I think in the end it will turn out to be someone we least expect like Michonne (even though I hope not).

ReplyDeletePossibly. It's going to be very soon. It looks like he gets pulled underwater by a flood walker and I am pretty sure that's when he gets bitten. He either goes off to die and gets captured by Gareth or gets captured by him otherwise. It will mirror Dale's death in the comic pretty closely after that. Poor Bob. Since Beth's stand alone ep is coming up, that might drag it out Bob's death out for another ep, but I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it'll be interesting to see what plans the writers/showrunners have for the characters and so far I like that they haven't followed everything in the comics exactly: as Shane, Judith, Carol, Tyreese, lasted longer on the show, and Dale and Andrea lasted longer in the comics than they have on the show.

ReplyDeleteIt makes sense that they would kill Glenn or Maggie but I really don't want them to. I obviously don't watch Walking Dead for the romance but their love story is in my top 3 of all the TV series I watch (and I watch a lot). Their bond is just so strong and they bring out the best in each other. I really hope they make it.

Rosita, Morgan, Gabriel, Tyreese, Maggie and Glenn have a pretty small chance of getting killed off.
Up in the air about Sasha and Beth.
I'd be pretty surprised if Gareth made it past mid-season. Bob will almost certainly die. Tara has a pretty high chance of getting killed purely because she's the least relevant character, and I simply can't imagine how they could add much weight to her beyond Rick being skeptical of her for a few episodes. I can see her sacrifice herself as a means of proving loyalty.
Gareth will take revenge for his mother. Gareth will kill Carol.
ReplyDeletethat was several seasons back. when tdog died. i think carol is a goner this season. they built her up way too much in this episode. just like they did with herschel right before he was killed off. so, yeah. a big build up for a major character equals impending death scene.

ReplyDeleteI'm expecting Bob to die from circumstances similar to Comic-Dale (though, there's no way Gilliard can pull off that "tainted meat!" scene, so I hope they don't even try), but if anything, it'd be teased out over multiple episodes. Assuming Bob dies, I think it'd be episode six or seven.

ReplyDeleteI think Carol has earned her death (Which according to Gimple and Kirkman) a character has to earn the death card in order to die. I honestly don't know what else they could do for Carol, where does she go now? I think the one thing that could have saved her "A pairing with Daryl" got axed by NR in Season 3 and I did hear that Carol was suppose to die then and didn't and with the way MMB cried while talking about her character I'm going to bet the shocker death will be Carol. No one will see it coming because Carol is the female badass (She took over for Michonne it seems) And since Gimple is all about parallels Daryl lost Beth and gained Carol and then at the end Daryl well one again gain one (Beth) but lose the other (Carol) I just hope she doesn't end up dying like the comic book because that would be a cop out.

ReplyDeleteI think Bob Stookey will become tainted meat, Beth will be a goner around Midseason Finale, Tyreese shortly after. I think Gareth will be killed thanks to the machete with the red handle in time for the hospital group to be introduced. So around episode 4, perhaps...?

ReplyDeleteGareth and bob are definitely. Tyreese is likely. He is struggling with killing and as Martin foreshadowed, that will get him killed. Carol has a good chance of going, her charter is getting built up and has an important role this season. That usually leads to impending death, add that to her reaction at NYCC and palyfest, I think she may be the big death nearing the season finale. Maggie or Glenn seem like they might be heading for a death after the burning if that photo, but i feel like they will explore Maggie being pregnant and as she already had a pregnancy scare last season I can't see it happening again so soon. Tara I'm not sure on, I can't really see the point if keeping her around except to create conflict between Glenn and Maggie and to have a representative for the lesbian community. Sasha is only just now getting her character explored, she will be around for a while longer yet. Beth will be missing from the group for a good chunk of this season and possibly part of next season, but she will not die;Not this season anyway. Abraham/Eugene/Rosita I feel will be around for the rest of the season. They have a lot of story to tell.

I understand that, I'm going to hate it when Daryl dies off (He is my favorite) and at some point that will happen as Kirkman has said time and time again. who knows though maybe they have a storyline for Carol that I just haven't guessed yet. anything with this show is possible.

ReplyDeleteMy predictions: Bob, the most obvious death in mine and everyone else's opinion. He'll probably die in a similar way to Dale in the comics which will then cause Gareth's death as well. Sasha: apparently Sonequa Martin-Green is pregnant so she will probably need to be written out. Could maybe see her death being a suicide in response to Bob's death. In the comic's Tyreese's main companion is his adult daughter who ends up committing suicide so it could shadow that. Glenn: I love Glenn but I think he's end is near. He'll probably die right at the end of the season. Abraham, Beth and maybe even Morgan or Tyreese will die in season 6.

For those who think Carol is gonna die, Gimple would rather cut his arm than killing Carol. Have you noticed two of the best episodes he ever wrote, which are 3, he chose Carol to carry them, The Grove and No Sanctuary. That should clue you in on how he feels lately about MM and the Carol's character. Oh MM was spotted filming on October 27th.

ReplyDeleteTara or Rosita might die. Preferably neither, but I could see one happening. Gabriel has a decent chance of dying. They've pretty much already burned through most of what little material he has in the comics. I figure they'll either redeem and drop him to the background like in the comics, or they'll kill him after he makes another bad move.
Noah's definitely dead. He's already out of story potential for the most part, and Tyler James Williams has booked a significant role on the potential Criminal Minds spin-off.
Sasha has a small chance of dying. They're at a crossroads where they'll either have to shape her into a greater character, or kill her off. Unfortunately, this show is known for taking the easy route when faced with that choice. Carol being the only exception there.
I'd love to see Daryl rejoice over escaping Georgia and furthering a friendship with someone, only to end up sacrificing himself immediately after. Never gonna happen, though.
Everyone else is safe -- Rick, Carl, Judith, Michonne, Glenn, Maggie, Abraham, Eugene, Carol, Morgan...
Eugene isnt going to die. He is going to become a big help to the group! Not hands on killing, but he is an extremely smart man and knows alot about everything.

ReplyDeleteA small inside leak let it fly that Tyrese, Noah, and Tara were being killed off this second half of season 5. Ty's death this past Sunday confirmed it for me. ;)
The last deaths of this season will be in episode 15, and those deaths will be noah and Tara. I know this because EVERY actor filmed for the finale except Tyler (Noah) and alana (tara). I know this is enough evidence because the same was used to predict Bob,Gareth,beth,and tyreese. All of them stopped filming on there death episodes and didn't film after that and that's what most of us who follow filming and spoilers use to determine who's dead, and so far it our track record has been 100%. So you heard it here first, noah and Tara in episode 15.

Eugene is definitely dying this season. He's useless after he admitted he doesn't know a cure and he can't even kill a walker
ReplyDeleteI agree with this, but I think Noah dies somewhere in 13-15 and Tara dies in the finale. Alanna Masterson did end up shooting the finale, though she wasn't spotted right away.

Beth also wouldn't have done that if she herself had not decided to do it; that whole thing was partly on Dawn and mostly on Beth because she made a magnificently stupid decision (of course I don't blame her, I blame the writers for not writing something that actually made sense). Also, Tyreese wouldn't have died if he hadn't let his guard down, it was certainly more his own fault than it was Noah's.
ReplyDeleteWe should first consider just how important each character is or isn't. And think of how important they are in the comics. Being already dead in the comics doesn't count for much. At least not anymore. And then consider the information about what the actor is now doing. Some have made movies but not much else. While others have signed new contracts with new tv shows. So, it's a safe bet to say Noah. And then no one else leaving us this season. Now that we have lost Tyreese. I could be wrong. And to think of the new characters we will meet soon. I read somewhere the cast should have a total of 24 characters by seasons end. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteI can see your point, and I agree Tyreese shouldn't have let his guard down. It just seems as soon as he arrived we lost two good characters, and he just happened to be there or near when they died. Both deaths though could have been better, they were stupid deaths.

I agree about Beth's death being stupid, but Tyreese's doesn't really bother me. I get the criticism about him being stupid to not pay more attention to his surroundings, but that kind of stuff happens; people let their guards down when they shouldn't, and sometimes they pay a high cost for it.

I hope (desperately) that somebody will put Father Gabriel out of his misery SOON because it seems he's gradually going mad, and he's clearly a huge threat thanks to his paralyzing cowardice. That said, I am getting just a tiny bit uncomfortable with the show's approach to its black male characters. We've lost three just this season, the fourth is a creep, and the fifth (Morgan) is a wildcard who was insane last time we checked in. I happen to be a white female viewer and don't get me wrong, I think the writing this season is stellar -- just hoping the writers aren't losing sight of this pattern.
ReplyDeleteThe other character I think might go (and I hate hate HATE to think it) would be Abraham. This show has always played it so safe with its truly "major" characters, as you note -- I never really get the sense that Rick, Michonne, Carol, Carl or Daryl (of course not) will bite it. I think TWD tries to compensate for this by bringing other characters to the fore and making them seem major-ish before pulling the plug and then hollering "SEE??! *NOBODY* IS SAFE!!" Abraham feels just major-ish enough that his death would pack a pretty good season-capping wallop. But I hope I'm wrong, because he has the potential to do some great stuff. Before "Spend" I would've picked either Glenn or Maggie instead, but can't see that happening so soon now. The other minors like Rosita and Tara, meh, they could probably go and I'd hardly notice. I'd maybe also pick Sasha because the actress was pregnant during filming and really -- how do you hide a huge baby bump while lugging an AK-12 and running for your life through the woods??

ReplyDeleteThe show has killed off a lot of characters this season already compared to the others so I think we might get 1 or two deaths in the finale, but minor ones such as Gabriel and Rosita. I really like Abraham, but the show always tends to kill off the characters I like. Merle, Hershel, Dale, Tyreese, Beth...
ReplyDeleteI could see Sasha dying, now that she's lost Bob and her brother she has nothing left, and really her scenes recently have been a few one liners here and there. I wouldn't notice much if she died. I would definitely notice if Abraham died, he may not be as "Major" as Rick or Daryl, but he's been an important part of the group trying to survive. Also, it would take a lot to take him down as he is a very strong survivor.
That's true -- I could see him taking out the entire town of Alexandria plus at least 15-20 walkers single-handedly, all at once, wearing a big grin. He'd definitely be one of the toughest to kill ... just meant his death would be pretty impactful, since we all know Daryl's not going aaaanywhere. :)

ReplyDeleteFather Gabriel is almost a guarantee to me especially after what he did. And plus the audience won't miss him if he dies. Rosita will to just because they need another member to die to get rid of some of the large cast. But there will probably be a major character death to really shake things up. And I have a feeling I know who it is. For comic readers, I predict a certain special villain will appear and the person he is known for killing will die.

ReplyDeleteWith Maggie hearing Father Gabriel's (can he even be CALLED a Father now?) frenzied psycho confession, no doubt he will have trouble. I can even see our Family Elders (Rick, Carol, Daryl, Michonne ) having Major Issues with that. Especially Rick, who told him in no uncertain terms back when they were still in the church : This IS my family - you harm them you will pay.

It's been on 5 seasons and pretty much what is said in actually interview confirmations,had been right on. So that is wrong Morgan will never go off to Sunny LA and run into the dysfunctional family. N no...Noah is NOT Morgan's nephew. N No Carol and Daryl is never gonna be a cpl. I actually say Carol is the main cast member that gets killed off on the finale. How many times can she save the day like she has. It would clearly start appearing like she is a super hero. Lol smh!
