A webseries about Kol was previously announced by Buzzfeed here.

As per Nate Buzolic Online:
It will explore the character, we will discover what are the relationships, and also the way he is today and was with Klaus, Elijah and his sister Rebekah.

It was written by Carina MacKenzie and directed by Matt Hastings. Words of Michael Narducci: “Nate is fundamentally awesome throughout it.” The web series will begin airing in about 4 weeks.

  1. 4 weeks, so roughly around the midseason final and run over Christmas.

  2. So it will star Daniel as well as Nate? Or will Kol find a way to get his old body back?

  3. It's a flashback webseries. Nate will play Kol, of course. The Kol played by Daniel Sharmas is only on the main show.

  4. It will star Nathaniel Buzolic. No mention of Daniel.

  5. Excited, but the original post could have been a little more informative. Super confusing if you don't already know. Doesn't even mention Kol by name.

  6. I had no idea what was going on haha.

  7. I'll add in a reference to Kol, thanks for letting me know.

  8. The first part we already know half of that. But if they do it differently then cool. I'll watch.

  9. Can't wait to see what aspect they will explore throughout this web-series.He had way too small screen space among the originals,it's time to see his character in detail!

  10. No problem. Thanks for the post and the quick update :)

  11. OMG... BRING ... IT .... ON ... !!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Yay!
I hope they finally give him some more layers. As fun as it is to watch Kol bring chaos and death, it is already starting to get repetitive. Especially when he just randomly lashes out at innocent people.

  13. the article mentioned "the way he is today" so I assumed they also showed him in present day... my mind started daydreaming... :P

  14. Carina was the worst possible person for this project. She's been pretty vocal about hating Kol in the past so I'm really worried that she will destroy his character.

  15. To me, there's two ways to read between the lines of this project.
    1. They're building Kol's history for a potential full-fledged return after the new year, which would violate Plec's dead-is-dead statement from last season when the other side went poof.
    2. The web series is just a fun filler project and also to appease fans who won't be getting a full-fledged Kol return because, shockingly, Plec will be sticking to dead-is-dead.

  16. Why is everyne soo excited about this Nathaniel guy? l didn't find him to be anything special... and Kol was/is douchbag bully...

  17. I am worried it's the second. She is trying to appease Nate as well. Since despite being kicked off the series for no good reason whatsoever he is still willing to wait around to show up for flashbacks. She decided he deserves some kind of payment.
I'd like to point out that Mikael is back in his usual body despite it burning so the other side being gone means nothing. It didn't even happen in TO universe, only in TVD.

  18. - Plec has no reason to appease any guest-starring actors.
    - Buzolic isn't waiting around, he's taking a job and actors need to work like anyone else. It's work and it's the most notable work he's done to date. Reprising the role is a no-brainer.
    - The condition of Mikael's body isn't relevant (just like it wasn't for Elena when she was blown up in Damon's car). The other side being gone is. Mikael returning has nothing to do with his body and everything to do with the fact that he was pulled from the other side before it disappeared.

  19. I used to ask myself the same question. I didn't get why everyone liked him that much because Kol wasn't that great .. but then i got to meet Nate at a convention and now i totally get it now.. that guy is awesome .. he just won me over. I don't even know what it is about him that makes him so special but at that convention i could have listen to him talk about life forever

  20. Kol is entertaining to watch and no more a bully than any of the other Originals. Nathaniel aces what it is he does. Thank God we all have different opinions, though :)

  21. Do we know how the two timelines work between the shows? I guess what I mean to say is, the writers could easily just slip in that Ester pulled Kol out right before the other side went poof.

  22. sure.. lm not saying the guy is a jerk in real life but that has nothing to do with his character which i simply couldn't stand... he seemed like yet another angry, haughty, bad boy with issues.... been there done that but again lm happy the fans will get what they want

  23. exactly... he's just another bullying, angry, haughty bad boy... too repetitive if you ask me... but sure at least the fans are happy :)

  24. The timelines are always wonky and end up being whatever the producers say they are. I think they keep things vague specifically for that purpose.

  25. I like Kol. He just seems more fun and carefree than the other Originals - Klaus/Elijah are way too serious so we need someone in the mix who isn't.

  26. YEEEEES! I am so excited about this! How long are the webserie episodes going to be?
