Victor Garber has landed a recurring role on The Flash, EW has learned.
The Alias alum will play Dr. Martin Stein, one-half of the Firestorm entity from DC Comics. Dr. Stein is a brilliant but arrogant nuclear physicist who has sacrificed everything, including a marriage, for his work in transmutation. After he discovers the particle accelerator fused him with the younger, more impulsive Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), he races to find a way to separate the two before it’s too late.

Awesome! I'm still not sure how this works, the two of them being one hero, since I haven't read the comics, but he's a great actor and it sounds like a cool role for him.
ReplyDeleteI love this and I love Victor Garber.
ReplyDeleteUh, don't like him.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they cast the other half of Firestorm and got someone older. I was afraid they were going to have just one person or cast someone around Robbie Amell's age. This dynamic is only interesting with the age difference.
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. I wonder if them fused together would be similar to Neal and Gold sharing a body in Once.
ReplyDeleteBasically Ronnie Raymond is the physical body/ controls Firestorm and Stein serves as an advisor to him and has a disembodied astral form.
ReplyDeleteoh my god, papa Bristow!! I love this men :)
ReplyDeleteHello SpyDaddy! This should be good!
ReplyDeleteI'm a semi fan! Some roles I liked some I don't, let's see how he'll fit this role.
ReplyDeleteWhy.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in seeing how this works.
ReplyDeleteLoved in Titanic,Sleepy Hollow and Alias basically love him in general!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a casting coup! This guy is one of the best actors out there and was totally snubbed of an Emmy for Alias, one of my favorite shows ever. Surprised he's doing a CW show, but maybe this shows that the network is starting to turn its reputation around: almost no teenage girl dramas, lots of action-adventure, sci-fi and fantasy shows.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! He's a very good actor!
ReplyDeleteGreat casting loved him on Alias. Totally believable casting.
ReplyDeleteGood lord! This guest cast is shaping up to be the best guest cast ANY CW show had!
ReplyDeleteGreat casting. That guy was awesome in Alias.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, they're really going all out with The Flash.
ReplyDeleteb-b-b-b-uuuudget :P
ReplyDeleteKind of worried about the ratings now though, the show started out FANTASTIC. But the ratings need to warrant the budget now. WAY more weight ontop of the Flashs head
little known fact: he was the voice of Charlie in the "Charlies Angels" reboot (on ABC a few years ago).
ReplyDeleteYeah...hopefully they ratings don't drop too much. (I'd be happy if they stayed above a 1.2. Although above a 1.5 would make me ecstatic)
ReplyDeletedoubt it'll drop too much BUT we'll see how it does. This is a first for a CW show so we have no idea what the decision making process will be like IF they do drop
ReplyDeleteso ronnie will have a guy who hates him inside him weird
ReplyDeleteEvery time Flash announces a guest star I squeal with excitement. They have such a talented line up of actors. Victor Garber is so talented. And I am happy they are sticking really close to the comics. The fusing of two people to become firestorm. How awesome it is to see a live action version of these characters. I am geeking out here.
ReplyDeleteI hope The Flash gets excellent ratings through out the season. I don't want this show to be cut like The Secret Circle due to budget issues.
I am impressed.I like him.
