EWW couldn't come up with a better example that doesn't include throwing up? I understand why you are so sick of all the Felicity stuff I admit they are over doing it but still.
sorry, I didn't find a better way to state that I per se like the character but hate the way she's retooled from a fun sidekick to a overly romantisized focal point.
Felicity is wearing the dress she was wearing when Oliver asked her out, I don't like that :/ I think she will say "I'm the fastest woman alive" after she hacks into something while helping the team. Do you think they know about Oliver? I know they must have figured out that Felicity works with the Arrow but do they know it's Oliver? I'm not familiar with Captain Cool and I've never watched PB so I can't show the proper excitement for this episode lol but it looks promising.
yes, if my other reaction would be a flat out bash of how they shove that character down our throat. I get that you love her but it's not really neccessary to push that character into almost every product you have.
I'm genuinely baffled by how this overexposure is recieved, people are cheering for that. Yeah...it's annoying to me. And I somehow will have to vent. Wether through sarcasm or criticism. I tried it with the latter, wasn't taken too well
looking at the vast variety of dead horses they beat with a crossover of a fan favourite character, a triangle, 60% promotional images of Felicity and having the love interest overshadow the villain I would have to ask "wich dead horse" but since every response will go against me I'll have to assume its "go and bash my Felicity somewhere else" ? ;)
also: is the blatant positivety necessary in every comment section? I'm partially enraged with all these shipper comments but COME THE F**K on what do we get served with here?
"You get a Felicity, and you get a Felicity AND you get a Felicity..." "But I don't want one, there has been too much of her already" *gets killed by the batsh*t crazed out mob*
Put down the cross, Mac. No one (Okay, almost no one. There are nutters, after all.) minds opinions, even opposing ones. This place is all about opinion. The thing is, you... well you tend to mercilessly inundate topics with the same opinions over and over again like take-out menus in apartment buildings. I don't think people would mind if it were constructive criticism or you offering alternate suggestions but that kind of bashing wears on people after awhile.
Oh, for what it's worth (relating to your post below) I'm also not a big fan of the "empty positivity" posts. The "yay" this and "woo!" that doesn't exactly lend itself to conversation.
Captain Cold looks awesome, can't wait to see him on screen. I liked Barry-Felicity on Arrow, so I'm curious to see them together on The Flash, though I suffer from secondhand embarrassment, so I hope the double date from hell isn't TOO awkward.
"as much as I enjoy her snarky comments I think I'm officially done with her after all this overexposure" oooooooooooppppppssssssssss somebody got hurt, he even made a statement....!
When most of your focus goes toward what you don't like about a show and its fans instead of what you genuinely enjoy then it probably is time for a break.
Oh, one last thing I thought I should mention. I actually agree with you. This one-character crossover seems especially superfluous given there's a full-show crossover happening later in the season.
true, that was uncalled for but unless you're not willing to take a punch you shouldn't throw a rock. This place is turning me vicious However I don't intend to discuss with someone that throws himself into a discussion after its done. The hyena principe is really not working here
The only thing that I care about in these photos is Wentworth Miller is back on my TV!! He looks great. I cannot wait for Captain Cold. This is going to be fun. I love that the DC universe loves my Prison Break favorites. Wentworth Miller, Robert Knepper, Peter Stormare, Dominic Purcell. Now they just need to find a role for Stacy Keach and William Fitchner.
generally enraged by the writers, the fact that this is happening to the Flash ALREADY just pains me as a fan. Or better...as someone that is trying to highlight the creative side of this show. Sadly it can't be highlighted if it's overshadowed by the "oohh our fanfavourite" aspect.
I admit, I was totally out of line but everyone telling me NOT to be sarcastic if they already managed to shut me up was the last drop for me. I held back with my criticizm and what did I get? People wanted me to shut up about my dislike of this writing completely. And I'm just done with that now...
"I held back with my criticizm and what did I get?"
well you did get a new account !
"People wanted me to shut up about my dislike of this writing completely. And I'm just done with that now" i thought you were not ok with the promoting, now its the writing? Man, this is more drama than the "Sara" episode.
He was amazing on Prison Break. I always thought he was so underrated. On The Flash, I love that they have DP and Wentworth playing off of each other again. DP was my least favorite actor on PB but I really loved the relationship between Michael and Lincoln. Wow, Bradley. You're going to make me break out the DVD's. I miss this show.
Yeah, agree. How he never even got nominated for ANY award in his PB role is beyond me. I like Purcell. Not the best though - but I agree, it'll be great to see him and Miller play off each other again.
Netflix is the way forward - that way you don't have to keep changing DVD's ;)
i loved Sara. She and Mahone i believe were the most realistic characters but then the writers screwed up and killed her just because the actress got pregnant(amateur)
Dude, chill a bit... It's just a comment section of a tv show. People have diferent opinions: There are they bats**t crazy people and then there are people with whom you can actually talk about. You need to ignore some of them. I like your opinions a lot, since you seems to be one of the few people here that read comics too.
I get what you think about Felicity, but there's something you haven't tought(i think): The whole show got re-tooled on Season 2 to make Felicity the main love interest of the show, for example, and every hero's journey in literature NEEDS a lover, one who thinks for himself and make him walk the right path, when in doubt. Arrow has been very "by the books" on that matter regarding Oliver and Felicity on Season 2 and Season 3(Writing is my passion, i kind of know what i'm talking about). You actually had the same you have now(episodes 3x01 and 3x02 with all the Olicity focus) on Season 1 with Oliver and Laurel and that hideous love triangle that was unrealistic(Why would a character like Laurel, one who sees the world in black and white, seeks for justice and it's an empowered woma, be seeking a relationship with Oliver? Even when he came back a changed man and make the f**king same mistakes again! If she wanted a romantic relationship with him, it would be totally out of character). Still, the hero needs a love interest, and the character of Felicity made the most sense... Felicity might be my favourite character, but it's a way underdeveloped character; one we know crap about(Felicity could be a dude for all we know). Hopefully, Season 3 will change that and i think it already did, since we will get a backstory and see her outside of the "Team Arrow/Oliver bubble".
When they introduced the character it was going to be an easter egg, they didn't need a "3 dimensional" character for that and that problem got carried away to the whole second season.
Felicity is a likeable character, the one more likely to fit on The Flash... This is just a mere excuse to make the Arrow audience watch Flash and see if some Flash audience go see Arrow then(This whole episode will be they teasing Olicity and Barry and Felicity ending up as friends, because they want that "Flash only audience" to go like "Okay, so this chick is in love with the green dude that gave advice to Barry on the premiere? I'll watch what that's about" and i know i'm right because the next week it's actually Felicity's episode so that Flash viewers see something they're familiar with.
Your problem shuldn't be with the character but with the marketing division of theCW... And it's theCW, for God's sake! We're talking about a network that promoted Chair(Gossip Girl's #1 couple, wich was the most toxic, unrealistic and badly written couple i've seen). They promote the ships because they think it's what girls want nowdays.
As a closing comment, i will say again that people have diferent opinions: you think Katie Cassidy is Arrow's best actress and i'm possitive she can't play a realistic lawyer even if she went to Hardvard Law School for real... She will be an amazing Black Canary the moment she takes the mantle(I'm quite happy with her casting, since i'm a comicbook reader and a Supernatural fan who loved Ruby 1.0), but before that i had to see a badly acted/written character on Season 1 and then the writers reseting her character on the whole Second Season. And believe me, Laurel's arc is what i'm more excited for Season 3(Beside seeing Arrow's take on Ra's) and she is the second most developed character on the show.
We'll have our diferent opinions on the matter, but your way of thinking it's totally childish.
yes, the last time she was on a based-on-comic tv show it didnt exactly go too well (Lori gained much hate). But also she tends to get roles in drama shows and not scifi genre.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oh my. OH MY.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for this ep! Wentworth, team flash out in the field, and cutie pie Felicity \O/
ReplyDeleteGood to see Wentworth.
ReplyDeleteFelicity and Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold get me excited. YES!
ReplyDeleteFINALLY!!! Barrlicity is back together <3
ReplyDeleteWho is that shaved guy with the gun? Already shipping him with Godlicity <3

(note: sarcasm, not mean spirited. Throw away you pitchforks shippers)
Oh Oliver is such an idiot... Felicity looks ridiculously gorgeous here! I so can't wait for this episode
ReplyDeleteI think you got the name of your ship wrong xD.
ReplyDeleteYou are a very bitter man lol
ReplyDeleteever been feed too much cookies, puked them out and from then on never enjoyed cookies again? That's what's happening here
ReplyDeleteHellicity?
ReplyDelete(as much as I enjoy her snarky comments I think I'm officially done with her after all this overexposure)
EWW couldn't come up with a better example that doesn't include throwing up? I understand why you are so sick of all the Felicity stuff I admit they are over doing it but still.
ReplyDeletesorry, I didn't find a better way to state that I per se like the character but hate the way she's retooled from a fun sidekick to a overly romantisized focal point.
ReplyDeleteWell then you can relax since she wont be much in episode 4.
ReplyDeleteBeating a dead horse - that's also what's happening here.
ReplyDeleteFelicity is wearing the dress she was wearing when Oliver asked her out, I don't like that :/ I think she will say "I'm the fastest woman alive" after she hacks into something while helping the team. Do you think they know about Oliver? I know they must have figured out that Felicity works with the Arrow but do they know it's Oliver?

Wentworth Miller!!! Felicity and Barry Allen!! What else do you need? I am super excited for this episode.
ReplyDeleteEven sarcasm is good in small doses mac. Is it necessary in every post?
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping she will have a bigger storyline with Ray one that doesn't only revolve around them dating, she deserves a proper storyline.
ReplyDeleteyes, if my other reaction would be a flat out bash of how they shove that character down our throat. I get that you love her but it's not really neccessary to push that character into almost every product you have.

Back away from the riding crop, Mac. It's that simple.
ReplyDeleteknow what? F**k it, I'm done.
ReplyDeleteI love how other opinions are met by this fandom
Put down the cross, Mac. No one (Okay, almost no one. There are nutters, after all.) minds opinions, even opposing ones. This place is all about opinion. ReplyDeleteOh, one last thing I thought I should mention. I actually agree with you. This one-character crossover seems especially superfluous given there's a full-show crossover happening later in the season.
thank you for being so rude, it is the easiest way to make me realise that i dont need to make a discussion with you.

ReplyDeleteNo need to warn me now, should've told me not to open this entire article
ReplyDeleteand Paul Adelstein!
ReplyDeleteoh mac is that you? im confused ...i guess i should have known its you but anyway.( *goes undercover *)
ReplyDeleteeveryone likes to forget Amaury Nolasco...
ReplyDeleteyeah, I deleted my mac account in my rage...
ReplyDeletewell if we put Sucre , we put Sara ...right?
ReplyDeletebut why? there were quite a lot of inspired people using "the captivity of negativity"(see what i did there?) moto of yours.
ReplyDeleteor Gretchen
ReplyDeleteor Whistler
or Kellerman
....man I miss Prison Break
but never Sofia! (most useless character ever created)
ReplyDeleteGet Fichtner on to something ASAP. His performance in season 4 so far (I have eight left) is incredible.
ReplyDeletehe is doing crossing lines ! (he is amazing)
ReplyDeleteI don't watch Crossing Lines. If it doesn't get a third season (not sure if it has already/will do) then get him on something else.
ReplyDeletegenerally enraged by the writers, the fact that this is happening to the Flash ALREADY just pains me as a fan. Or better...as someone that is trying to highlight the creative side of this show. Sadly it can't be highlighted if it's overshadowed by the "oohh our fanfavourite" aspect.

People wanted me to shut up about my dislike of this writing completely. And I'm just done with that now...
With Miller playing such a good guy on Prison Break, can't wait to see him play a bad guy here.
ReplyDeleteisn't that show on the verge of cancellation?
ReplyDeleteGreat quotable.
ReplyDeletenever hated her but she sadly got demoted to a bystander in season 3
ReplyDelete"I held back with my criticizm and what did I get?"
ReplyDeletewell you did get a new account !
"People wanted me to shut up about my dislike of this writing completely. And I'm just done with that now" i thought you were not ok with the promoting, now its the writing? Man, this is more drama than the "Sara" episode.
i believe you mean season 4 ;)

ReplyDeleteNo, no to Sarah.
ReplyDeleteYeah, agree. How he never even got nominated for ANY award in his PB role is beyond me. I like Purcell. Not the best though - but I agree, it'll be great to see him and Miller play off each other again.
ReplyDeleteNetflix is the way forward - that way you don't have to keep changing DVD's ;)
Adelstein recurs on Scandal.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I saw him in after PB was when he guest starred on SVU and I really didn't like him there. He was still Michael to me.
ReplyDeleteno, season 3. The SONA season, she was introduced as a important part of the cast but ended up as...well...Lincs partner who never did anything
ReplyDeletetrue story
ReplyDeleteWell it's something I guess...
ReplyDeletethe promotion is one issue
the promotional campaign of Felicity focus carrying over to the Flash however is a new issue alltogether
He always will be. Same as Kiefer Sutherland who will always be Jack Bauer, Aaron Paul who will always be Jesse Pinkman etc etc
ReplyDeleteYeah, his SVU character was a real douchebag.
ReplyDeletei loved Sara. She and Mahone i believe were the most realistic characters but then the writers screwed up and killed her just because the actress got pregnant(amateur)
ReplyDeleteI liked her too, I just don't see Sarah Callies on The Flash.

ReplyDeleteAwwww, I can't wait to see Felicity geek out over Barry's suit! This is Sooo exciting. Felicity! Love the hair!
ReplyDeleteReally excited, wanna make streaming again http://po.st/hLknzo
ReplyDeleteHe looks pretty bad ass also as CC.
ReplyDeleteAnd Wade Williams.
