Dean is going to get darker with every episode until DD is gone, which is by ep 5. That should take care of major complains about too much Dean on screen and lame/ not-enough-evil-ish Demon Dean concept.
Yeah, I remember one of Jensen's interview saying that Demon Dean will get a lot darker than the way presented at the season premiere.
But is there a new spoiler stating that Demon Dean will stay until episode 5? All the spoilers revealed points for it to happen by episode 4. But I'm not sure because it might be my wishful thinking (I want Dean back 'yesterday'. I miss him)
May be, all I know he's not gonna last more then 4 eps. Which is bummer for me because I was hoping for at least half-season. Another purgatory-long arch.
I believe Dean is cured by the end of episode 3 as episode 4 is titled, "Paper Moon" and is a werewolf episode. 5 is the musical episode about Chuck's books. So I'd imagine that there would be no time to work on curing Dean in either of those two episodes. Expect Dean to be cured by the end of episode 3 while still having the Mark of Cain moving forward beyond episode 3.
He can't be cured since he has the mark and the mark needs to be fed. It maybe temporary and he may act like our Dean but guessing Demon Dean will come back again by second half. Dean needs to be somewhat of a demon to be able to have the mark other wise he will what again DIE. That is the problem he will have throughout the season. So Sammy maybe temporary putting demon to rest but he will be back by the second half. We need cain back to figure out how we get rid of the mark or how he is able to not have to feed the mark and go on with life.
You know, something that sorta bugged me is the little 'black eye moments' in the pilot with Dean. We only see his eyes go black once I think, and that's during the security footage.
Looks like a bit of a flashback to me. Dean's hair is shorter and the way they have Crowley sitting appears to make him look heavier than he was in the season opener and considering Mark Shepherd has lost a lot of weight that is a tall order.
If it is, then it explains a lot. Crowley is throwing Abaddon supporters at Dean because he won't go on a killing spree so the mark is fed, not simply to keep Dean sharp as he said while getting rid of the last of Abaddon's lot. Does that mean that Lucifer let Cain create the knights not only to have an army but to keep the mark occupied and Cain from turning on him?
But not only that if they are also trying to suggest that Crowley's weight lose happened during his time partying with Dean then he is in a lot of trouble. If so that kind of means he can't keep up with Dean, he can barely manipulate him and Dean isn't playing into the same trope that Sam and Cas fell into when offered a whole load of power.
Also even if we lose Demon Dean effectively by the fourth or fifth episode it does ask the question what is going to happen with the mark? Is that the storyline we are going to get for Dean instead of simply Demon Dean. What happens to it if it isn't fed and the person who has it is a demon already? Also what happens when Demon Dean is gone and he still has it - does it go back to him being unstable and his body trying to turn into a demon?. Does he continually have to take the demon cure to ensure he doesn't become a demon while going through huge killing withdrawal symptoms, or if becoming human and alive again does he have to sneak out of the bunker to kill to prevent his body giving out?
I have a feeling, and that due some things being said between Dean and Crowley that demon dean will be there longer but not on the surface. It was mentioned that Crowley send demons to try and kill dean to feed the mark because otherwise it would turn him more into a demon and more violent. Crowley was pretty pissed last episode that Dean doesn't want to move on from where he is now al though it feels like Dean is staying there on purpose partly because his good side is also still there. I think that if Dean doesn't kill things and doesn't feed the mark that he will become more of a demonic version of himself, if he does he pretty much remains how he is now or more like how he was. Crowley is most likely keeping of the prey now to get the darker dean to come out and ruin his current situation and so forcing him to move on and become his partner. Dean however showed that he does have some good left in him but he knows he's damaged goods so he tries to stay away from the old crew and doesn't want to move on to the new, this last part could be due to his self resurfacing when he calms the mark after a kill. I think this is also how they will roll it, I hope so because it can make for an interesting character struggle and give more depth to what Dean has done and what he wants to become.
Adding that basically what I hope for is that Dean's side when he doesn't kill ruins the peace he tries to build for himself by killing people he might get too attached to. The less killing he does the more of a jerk he becomes until the full on demonic side comes out and murders people that he has no control over before turning back to a more human driven demonic version which we had in episode 1 and realizing what he has done. This could also be why he is chasing Sam at that point, al though I also feel that could be because he wants to hurt Sam in that way so that Sam can't be killed by him later on while he is not in control. This whole Dean at the bar seemed quite human to me but more or less struggling with himself in terms of what he now is. Crowley is merely trying to bait him out and invite him to the other side.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I love that Crowley basically quoted a song there.
ReplyDeleteAAAAHHHH!!!! Dean with black eyes!!!!! I'll never get used to it but it's awesome and scary at the same time :)

ReplyDeleteI'm loving Dean & Crowley, but I miss Dean & Castiel

Dean will get a lot darker in the sense that he will visit another karaoke bar and then sing death metal.
ReplyDeleteIt'll actually be in the sense that he'll try to kill Sam. For me there is nothing more scary and evil than Dean trying to kill his little brother.
ReplyDeleteI know that. It was just a joke.
