“The Flash” Lifts The CW to the Strongest Premiere of Any Series in Six Years

Household

CBS 9.1/15
NBC 5.8/ 9
ABC 3.1/ 5
CW 2.6/ 4
Fox 1.8/ 3
-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Tuesday 10/08/13:
CW: +86, NBC: – 6, CBS: – 7, ABC: -18, Fox: -25
———-
Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. As always, these overnights are your first look at the ratings and a precursor to what could lie ahead. And we take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence.
-Winners:
“NCIS” (CBS), “The Flash” (CW), “NCIS: New Orleans” (CBS)
-Honorable Mention:
“The Voice” (NBC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“Selfie” (ABC), “Manhattan Love Story” (ABC), “New Girl” (Fox), “The Mindy Project” (Fox)
———-
Ratings Breakdown:
CBS, as expected, dominated the Tuesday household overnights with its line-up of “NCIS” (11.1 rating/18 share – #1 for the evening), week three of compatible “NCIS: New Orleans” (#1: 9.8/15) and “Person of Interest” (#1: 6.4/11). And a two-hour clips edition of “The Voice” (#2: 6.1/ 9 from 8-10 p.m.) leading into reliable “Chicago Fire” (#2: 5.4/ 9 at 10 p.m.) should be enough for NBC to compete in the key demos. “Chicago Fire,” which built year-to-year by eight percent, will have no trouble winning the time period in adults 18-49. But worthy of accolades was the series-premiere of The CW’s highly anticipated “The Flash.”
“The Flash” finished third in the 8 p.m. hour with a 3.4/ 5, which was The CW’s highest-rated premiere in the overnights since “90210” on Sept. 2, 2008 (translation: six years). Comparably, episode one of “The Flash” bested “The Originals” on the year-ago evening (1.3/ 2 on 10/08/13) by 166 percent. It beat the first hour of special “The iHeartradio Music Festival” last Tuesday (0.7/ 1) by a mammoth 386 percent. And “The Flash” outdelivered the debut of parent series “Arrow” (3.0/ 5 on 10/12/12) by 13 percent. And also very promising was the growth of one-tenth of a rating point (or three percent) at 8:30 p.m. (3.3/ 5 to 3.4/ 5). Given the available platform, “The Flash” is off to a fast – and “winning” – start on The CW, which is also expected to resonate via the DVR and in social media.
Lifted by the solid sampling for “The Flash,” season 10 of lead-out “Supernatural” opened at a 1.9/ 5 at 9 p.m., which was 27 percent above the 1.5/ 2 (out of “The Originals”) on the year-ago evening.
In week two news, ABC comedies “Selfie” and “Manhattan Love Story” both dipped by double-digit percentages from their already soft starts last Tuesday. “Selfie” opened with a fourth-place 2.9/ 5 in the overnights at 8 p.m., which was 22 percent below the 3.7/ 6 one week earlier (and that translated into 5.31 million viewers and a 1.6 rating/5 share among adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data). And “Manhattan Love Story” dropped to a 2.3/ 4 (#4) at 8:30 p.m., which was 28 percent below the already anemic 3.2/ 5 debut last Tuesday (which translated into 4.70 million viewers and a 1.5/ 5 in the demo). The two sitcoms, on average, dropped from year-ago Tuesday 8-9 p.m. time period “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” (5.3/ 9 on 10/08/13) by a hefty 51 percent.
Given the lack of lead-in support, relocated “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” dipped to a series-low 3.0/ 5 in the household overnights from 9-10 p.m., which was six percent below the 3.2/ 5 one week earlier and 43 percent below the aforementioned 5.3/ 9 on the year-ago evening.
Episode four of drama “Forever” capped off the evening for ABC with a series-low 3.6/ 6 at 10 p.m., which was still a marked improvement (+57 percent) over a repeat of “Scandal” on the year-ago evening (which replaced canceled “Lucky 7”).
Struggling Fox closed the night with a repeat of the one-hour “Family Guy” season-opener (featuring the crossover with “The Simpsons”) in place of “Utopia” at a 1.6/ 2 from 8-9 p.m. Comparably, that was actually one-tenth of a rating point below “Utopia” last week (1.7/ 3 on Sept. 30), and it led into the pairing of tired sitcom “New Girl” (#4: 2.1/ 3) and “The Mindy Project” (#4: 1.8/ 3).

I don't want to get ahead of myself with the overnights... but holy crap at the flash!!!
ReplyDeleteThe CW beat Fox!
ReplyDeleteEpic for The Flash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, congrats The Flash.
ReplyDeleteThat was expected. The CW promoted the hell out of it
yesssss THE FLASH !!!!!!!! Thank good! I was scared it would fail miserably.
ReplyDeleteGoooooo Flash!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to give NBC credit for CF. It hardly seems like an original show, but it was smartly scheduled the first year and, after being given time to grow, which it is still doing, is now really working in its time slot. Slowly but surely, NBC is rebuilding its schedule, particularly at 10:00.
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to see the numbers of audience and the ratings!!! I'm so happy for the show and for CW!!!
ReplyDeleteYay for The Flash!! But sad for Agents of Shield.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking firmly in HH ratings, The Flash beats the entire ABC line-up and the etire Fox line-up. In the 8 pm hour, The Flash might actually come out as third in the demo behind only NCIS and The Voice. That's pretty impressive.
ReplyDeleteHopefully with The Flash doing really well, it boosts Arrows premiere numbers!
ReplyDeleteReally great for The Flash!
ReplyDeleteCan we assume that the comedy's are dragging down AOS and Forever?
Wow for The Flash!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see CW shows can get decent ratings when promoted properly. Hopefully they use this as an example for how they should support all their new shows.
ReplyDelete"You were scared it you fail miserably" ....Really? lol
ReplyDeleteI really like both of those comedies but they really aren't long for this world. ABC should rush the Beyond the Tank show (Shark Tank spinoff) and launch it at 8 to provide Shield (and Carter) a solid base audience to work with.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I really want to check out those numbers.
ReplyDeleteI know Supernatural isn't a ratings beast, but I really do think that Supernatural might take at least a little chunk out of AOS.
ReplyDeleteNooo shield that's horrible its defintelty because of the bad lead in
ReplyDeleteGreat for flash though sure shot hit for the cw
I was worried about it because the first episode leaked and many people have watched already!!!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more. I don't know why they would have two new comedies as lead outs anyway for Shield.
ReplyDeleteThe Flash is doing so well even with the leak. I am impressed.
ReplyDeleteYeah I am really hoping for that too. Arrow's Spring numbers last year were very undeserved in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteEven when Supernatural wasn't on last week , Shield did pretty bad.
ReplyDeleteYeah a bit! Don't know why, maybe cause of the leaked screener, the awful CW ratings these days.
ReplyDeletei am really not since they promoted it like crazy.
ReplyDeleteWow ... Flash beat Agents of Shield! Very curious to see the 18-49 demo and total viewership numbers. Glad to see the strong start.
ReplyDeleteThe Flash is gonna outperform most of the ABC lineup. Should be a wake-up call to them. If The Flash bests SHIELD, that'll really be a low-point for ABC.
ReplyDeleteNot happy with the softening POI numbers. But hopefully the writers plan reasonably to not leave the show dangling on a cliffhanger. I still think it'll get out of this season alive but they should probably plan to end at 5 or 6 at the latest. Serialized entertainment just doesn't resonate as much with a low-attention audience.
I know they promoted it a lot but I thought everyone would have already watched it already becuase of the leak
ReplyDeleteThe only shows to have posted really awful ratings on the CW these days have been Reign and Whose Line on Friday. The Vampire Diaries and The Originals did fine IMO, especially The Originals.
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest is still doing pretty good. I think the show should end when the writers find it appropriate to do so. I think the show should last at least 6 seasons.
ReplyDeleteWell flash setting a record on ratings was totally expected.now let's see abt ep 2
ReplyDeleteStill kind of surprised CBS hasn't tried to feature this show more. It's unique in what it is doing, and I've only seen one episode, but it's gotten good reviews. It probably couldn't last as long as NCIS, but so what?
ReplyDeleteI don't think POI will end this year at all. I think it has Sundays at 10pm death slot written all over it before it retires. Besides, there will be plenty to cut on CBS at season's end, I don't think POI will be that much on their radar.
ReplyDeleteAnyone has top25 markets for the flash? I am extremely curious today.
ReplyDeleteMeh the internet group that has watched it most likely arent a part of Nielsen households. But CW droped the ball on most of its other shows because they were promoting Flash so hard.
ReplyDeleteFlash doing so well should definitely help Arrow since their connected.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember what 90210 premiered with in the 18-49? Was it a 2.0 or something?
ReplyDeleteYeah, you're right. I don't think airing against Supernatural helps things though. I wasn't a huge fan of AoS but it really picked up at the end and I want to see it do well.
ReplyDelete2.1/2.2
ReplyDeleteI think they should have dedicated a bit more time to The Originals, The 100 and Reign but I can understand why they went all in with the flash since if that one really works, not only it boosts that hour but it also boost Supernatural (lead-out) as well as Arrow (parent show) which in turn should boost The 100. It's a smart bet.
ReplyDeleteI kind of think that they should have done The Originals/Supernatural and The Flash/ The Messengers on Mondays and Tuesdays respectively instead of going with placeholder Jane the Virgin and having TO fend for itself, but well, I can understand that they really wanted to focus everything on The Flash.
OMG if they would stay that way that would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteOMG! This is beyond any expectations! CW suites are getting wasted right now! What about SPN?
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that they saw SHIELD as lead-in independent, since it started off the night last year.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree. Arrow was brilliant last season.
ReplyDeleteI am still annoyed that they didnt even bother for promo cast photos with Arrow or scheduled any interviews with actors for the premiere. Since MG did the promo tour for premiere.
ReplyDeleteI checked STVPlus and it said 2.6 I'm pretty sure. That would be crazy if it's around there.
ReplyDeleteWhat???? If they stay anywhere close to that in finals it's absolutely insane. Wow I am shocked
ReplyDeleteYeah 2.6 is correct i think :) That would be so amazing!
ReplyDeleteArrow will be fine though. And Flash doing so well will only help Arrow. And Arrow got a lot of marketing as well. All that interview stuff and promo pic stuff on`t help the views that much.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
ReplyDelete2.6
ReplyDeleteApparently it did a 2.1/2.2 in the top25markets. If that holds anywhere close to that... I am shocked.
ReplyDelete1.3/1.1
ReplyDeleteWow that's monstrous rating for cw
ReplyDeleteI agree. I also think Shield is lead-in independent but surrounding it with more compatible pieces and providing it with a solid base audience to work with would help for sure.
ReplyDeleteLet the Nielsen gods hear you.
ReplyDeleteEhm, I have read tons of Arrow interviews with actors and EPs. There has been so much promotion that I'm even wondering if the episode has a scene I didn't see coming.
ReplyDeleteThat said though, it did drop to 1.7 in ep 2 so hopefully Flash didn't have that many uninterested people.
ReplyDeleteNo but i saw Arrow fans that got annoyed because the Arrow crew was constantly pushing & pushing Flash. Very little promo was about Arrow.
ReplyDeleteThey have applied some smart scheduling there.
ReplyDeleteAlas, the networks rarely care about what the writers think is best. I am not worried about this season as much as next season. The biggest encouragement there is that CBS shows seem to be in a demographic freefall. Where most of these shows were pulling in above 3.0 just two seasons ago, now most are well below 2.0. So the fact that all shows are falling could be a help.
ReplyDeleteGreat for The Flash, I really didn't like it though so I won't be watching it again. Did they promote The 100 during it or SPN at all? I'm getting seriously annoyed at the lack of promotion for it.
ReplyDeleteOk arrow got tons of promo. Moreso than most shows on the CW. If Arrow fans were annoyed that the Arrow crew was advertising CW`s new potential huge hit, then they are very entitled.
ReplyDelete18-49 Rating:2.6 Viewers:4.70m
ReplyDeleteI am not n expert and understand that there is a lift for SPN coming from Flash, but just can't wrap my head around the idea that series premiere can boost 10 years old show. Who would start watching season 10 premiere because of previous hour show?
ReplyDeleteI afraid there will be serious adjustment today for SPN due to 3 min overlap with Flash last night. I hope its 0.1 only.
I wonder if it would have been higher without the leak
ReplyDeleteMost of it was from SDCC, European Tour with Emily & Colton, Con appearances from the actors. Most of talking was from the EPs. And even that was from the big interviews from SDCC that were reused.
ReplyDeleteYeah I think it might be because of the 3 minute overlap with the Flash/Flash lead in.
ReplyDeleteHow many shows has SPN helped launch? I stopped watching years ago but have to recognize is incredible....
ReplyDeleteEven though I think it's a bit far-fetched, I certainly hope you are right about that Arrow and The 100 boost. Especially The 100 needs it!
ReplyDeleteSounds great for Flash! Loved the Arrow cameo! "Cool"
ReplyDeleteToo bad for Selfie.
really? i thought the Arrow cameo was the worst part of the episode, way too cheesy IMO
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the overnights for Flash and Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was cheesy too, but a lot of people (mostly huge Arrow fans I guess lol) like it.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I liked about it:)
ReplyDeleteArrow got spoilers, they practically spoiled everything they could. It was basically social media promo. But we all know that doesnt matter in the ratings. You also need presence in the real world. That was scarce.
ReplyDeleteI agree ;) Maybe I am being too optimistic though. We shall see .A big problem all 4 of these very male skewing shows will have in just a few weeks is the World Series. That's extremely inconvenient, especially for the 100 since it will be launching late.
ReplyDeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteI don't watch it, but isn't every superhero show cheesy by definition?
ReplyDeleteHmm, that's sounds pretty low. SPN got 1.2 last year with 1.5 overnights. Hope final number is 1.3 or higher.
ReplyDeleteArrow is my favorite show and to me Arrow is The Flash and The Flash is Arrow. The Flash's promo should hopefully help Arrow too, especially during their crossover episodes and the sucess of The Flash will hopefully make the CW pick up another Arrow spin-off and expend Arrow universe more.
ReplyDeletelol in a way, but the Arrow cameo on the flash was pretty cheesy. MY friend who doesn't watch Arrow and only watched the flash was like "lol what is this..."
ReplyDeleteI hoped but didn't believe! The Flash deserves it.
ReplyDeleteThe Flash is going to premire high, 1.4 or higher. What are your bets?
ReplyDeleteWith a 3.4 in households, I'd say it's a 1.7.
The ABC comedies will be pulled soon if ABC can think of a replacement for them
As a long time Supernatural fan...I just have to shake my head at some of the comments I see regarding Arrow is being treated like crap this season.
ReplyDeleteMy poor SPN was the ugly red headed step child of Dawn O's CW. Hell in S5 SPN was taking money out of their episode budget to make their own Promo's.
S3 of Arrow is getting treated just fine.
They did during Monday's SPN retrospective, multiple times.
ReplyDeleteI knew it about Flash!!!Yeahhhh
ReplyDeletePeople wouldn't probably start watching the show if they never watched it before. But people might watch the show live instead of DVRing it to watch it later, which would give a boost to the Live+SD numbers that we see here ;)
ReplyDeleteIrony for me is that I only really even bothered to watch The Flash because it was on before SPN. Same reason I gave Arrow a shot.
ReplyDeleteJesus christ! That's even higher than TVD! If it holds that number of course
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable!
ReplyDeleteA lot of CBS shows are really old.
ReplyDeleteBeyond the Tank should be their replacement in my opinion. Since it's only reportedly ready for later in the season, I think they ride out the comedies until Christmas and launch Beyond the Tank in the winter as lead-in for Agent Carter.
ReplyDeleteThanks :) I would have thought they would use the premieres to promote it, I don't get why they didn't.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but this scene turned the cheese factor to 11
ReplyDeleteI get that the CW wants to show a repeat of The Flash after Arrow, but it doesn't appear like The Flash really needs that. I would rather have The 100 premiering tonight (both for the ratings and because I don't want to wait any longer to watch the premiere)!
ReplyDeleteWhat I liked most about The Flash was the guy playing...The Flash! A show is only as good as its lead actor/character, and this guy was fun to watch. The show's brighter colors make it easier to watch that dreary Arrow. Keep the fun alive Flash!!!
ReplyDelete😊 Supernatural was very good, a GREAT episode, season 10 will be BIG .... And Flash that was Very, very well with a wonderfur episode.
ReplyDeleteGreat expectations for the next episodes of both. 🎉😍😍😝😄🎉
If The Flash goes above a 1.5, and it looks like it will, Pedowitz would certainly be getting drunk tonight.
ReplyDeleteProbably because premiere ad time is more expansive?
ReplyDeleteyeah I'm sure Sarky is just a huge fan of Arrow but I just can't even with saying Arrow was sidelined. promotion for season 3 has been so much. Almost every aspect of the episode has been spoiled in interviews and it has got so many different trailers. The flash doing so well is only going to help Arrow's ratings more. Shows like Supernatural, The Originals and the 100 should be complaining more.
ReplyDeleteThe Top 25 Martkets are predicting 2.1/2.2
ReplyDeleteAgreed, I'd feel much more comfortable if they had premiered The 100 with Arrow. I'm getting worried about it's ratings though since they're not promoting it properly at all. We don't even have a promo or a trailer yet.
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap! That could be easily a 1.9 or even 2.0 in the preliminaries! The CW got itself a real winner!
ReplyDeleteThe numbers for Forever make me sad. I guess I better enjoy it while I can. I'm remembering now why I mostly stick to cable shows these days.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with that. The only positive is that by then it should have the entire CW promotional machine focused on it but I don't think it's worth it, I would rather have them launching the 100 tonight.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 is however one of my favorite shows so I might be partial when talking about it.
And ABC!
ReplyDeleteBut doesnt the 100 still have like 2 weeks till premiere? That is still plenty time to increase the promo.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if The Flash's success on the ratings could cause synergy with Arrow and rise its numbers tonight?
ReplyDeleteExactly! It only didn't beat Forever (in HH ratings, that is, it wil likely still beat it in the demo).
ReplyDeleteI am very optimistic about it, yes.
ReplyDeleteI think it will help!
ReplyDeleteWe can only hope so!
ReplyDeleteIt's a show on their own network though, they should be trying to give it it's best chance. Scheduling the premiere so late isn't going to help either.
ReplyDeleteyeah but Arrow had way more promo 2 weeks ago than the 100 does now. Arrow had a trailer in July!
ReplyDeleteI agree, The CW shouldn't have left The 100 waiting, they should have premiered it ASAP to help its ratings.
ReplyDeleteI still think it's going to do good though, but it could really benefit from Arrow's premire, especially now that so many people checked out The CW with The Flash. If they needed a repeat that bad, they could have set one on Fridays
Damn, that's amazing for The Flash. All the promotion paid of for CW. So around 1.5/.6, I'm guessing?
ReplyDeleteHow long before FOX sells off its office furniture?
ReplyDeleteThe leak probabyl didn't affect the ratings at all.
ReplyDeleteThat would be outstanding
ReplyDeleteI was bumbed when I saw Super Girl going to CBS. CW has proven to be able to handle its superheroes greatly, and I would love if eventually they could have many DC comic books heroes in the channel and even do some kind of Justice League. It would just be EPIC!
ReplyDeleteGood point about the overlap. I forgot about it.
ReplyDeleteThough, I don't know... Supernatural is pretty solid. It might adjust down (probably will), but it can hold its own ratings, like it proved already for various seasons, especially when new shows lose stream. I'm not saying it's going to happen with The Flash. I think this show is a keeper. :D
So The CW is definetely going to outrate FOX for the night. If Forever does badly in the demos- let's hope not- maybe it can outrate ABC too?
ReplyDeleteOMG, I'm gonna need to see those The Flash numbers, because it sounds like an amazing start and a new hit for the CW.
ReplyDeleteFlash beat AoS .well this is real ppl.
ReplyDeleteFirst time watching AoS s1 .quite good
yeah Supernatural can hold it's own definitely! It's done so for 10 years (sometimes with very little promotion) SN is a beast. Just saying that the 3 minute over lap might have artificially increased the ratings for now.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I think the shows are getting:
ReplyDeleteCW:
Flash: 1.8
SPN: 1.3
FOX:
New Girl: 1.3
The Mindy Project: 1.0
CBS:
NCSI: 2.4
NCSI: NO: 2.1
Person of Interest: 1.7
NBC:
The Voice clip show: 2.5
Chicago Fire: 2.0
ABC:
Selfie: 1.3
MLS: 1.1
AOS: 1.6
Forever: 1.2
It won't.
ReplyDeletePOI numbers... no! that's really low!
ReplyDeleteStill huge
ReplyDeleteThe top 25 market ratings is around 1.9 and 1.8... Not exactly ouch.
ReplyDeleteYes, I found it cheesy too, especially the "cool" part.
ReplyDeleteOuch those early POI numbers! What the hell...?!
ReplyDeleteIt will be higher anyway because you have to adjust for the historical decline throughout the years. Can't wait for finals.
ReplyDeleteLet's weait for the prelims, I hope it's in the high ones.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for The Flash and well deserved. Lol at all The Flash and CW haters who predicted like a 1.1 at most.
ReplyDeleteYes! 1.4 (as it says on top) would be.. well, really bad. :o
ReplyDeleteShield appears to be up judging from the top25 markets? What were the top 25 markets last week for it, does anyone know? I wouldn't be surprised if The Flash was working as a "de facto" lead-in for Shield. I want it back to a 2.0 though.
ReplyDeleteMajor ouch at those POI early numbers, but CBS always seems to go up from the top25 to nationals!
I hope for the same.
ReplyDeleteA 1.1 would have still been good, but this... it's just wow
ReplyDeleteI am no expert but I think CBS numbers are the ones that tend to increase the most from top25 to nationals (they seem to have a lot of viewers in smaller markets). Let's hope it's the case here.
ReplyDeleteIt will definitely be higher than that in the prelims.
ReplyDeleteI want it back to the 2.0s! But high 1s would do it also.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a weird anomoly for the spin-off to out perform and improve the parent show. One you'd probably only get with something with a massive in-built fanbase like The Flash.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't have it face CSI head to head at all between November and February sweeps its first year, and it returned stronger than before and beat CSI a few times, even though CSI has a much better lead in
ReplyDeleteShould be, POI may not be a rating juggernaut, but it's a very steady player. I can't imagine it doing a 1.4 out of the blue
ReplyDeleteThe Flash most likely beat the whole ABC lineup, whole FOX lineup and POI in the demo.
ReplyDeleteI remember on TVBTN people were making fun of me because I was predicting 1.5 lol.
ReplyDeleteThere are people on TVBTN that would make fun of you for breathing!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of numbers were you expecting?
ReplyDeleteI expected it. Flash is more popular in the general population than Green Arrow. CW was smart to decide to do a Flash spinnoff.
ReplyDeleteThe Flash "WOW"! This is great.
ReplyDeletefirst of all I have to thanks Arrow cast and crew because they have done a great job in Arrow and because of them now we have the flash (except other DC shows).
Congratulations to all The Flash cast and crew.
Not way it's in the low ones all of a sudden. It should be in the high ones in the prelims.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I rarely comment there. I only really get involved here haha. Even if someone disagrees with me here it's never resorted to name calling or childish behavior. Yet anyway ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't expect a third season for AOS especially since it might go lower in the spring
ReplyDeleteLast week, AOS got a 1.9/1.9 in top 25.
ReplyDeleteAgree with that.
ReplyDeleteO look, the butthurt Taraji troll is back.
ReplyDeleteShield still has a lot going for it, I don't think it's in any danger yet.
ReplyDeleteIt is much more civilised here but there's always a lot more discussion over on TVBTN, I just ignore the haters and trolls.
ReplyDeleteif it can manage 1.5 higher yes
ReplyDeletebut lower its gone
Thanks! So we are looking at about the same rating. Could be worse I guess but should be better...
ReplyDeleteABC for next season
ReplyDeleteMonday
8- New Drama
9- AoS if renewed or new drama
Castle
Tuesday
DWTS
New Drama
I agree, but it's on thin ice; it can't fall that much.
ReplyDeleteIt's not in any danger yet, but it has to stay right where it is
I hope too. this show deserves more viewer. as a huge Arrow fan I was very pissed about the numbers last season but I'm too optimistic about this season.
ReplyDeleteABC will never move DWTS.
ReplyDeletethey need to, Monday in the fall is too competitive even FOX does better on Mondays
ReplyDeleteMore, really. We've already had 160+ comments and the ratings are not even posted yet lol :)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry I also said it was going to do better than the Arrow premiere (1.4) and I predicted a 1.6 and some people also made fun of me and said it was impossible despite the fact last season the highest rated Arrow episodes were The Flash episodes.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the reactions of the CW haters. It's going to be hilarious.
Yes I agree. Though I mean it in relative terms. If the other ABC shows fall (and they will start to), it can fall too as long as it doesn't fall more than them. It has to keep its relative standing.
ReplyDeleteNashville got renewed last year with lower numbers than that and that show has a lot less going for it than Shield. Currently, Shield is at 80% of ABC's drama average. As long as it doesn't go below the 75% mark I don't think it's in danger yet, though I would obviously prefer if it got to the 90s%.
ReplyDeleteI would keep Mondays the same and do Beyond the Tank (Shark Tank spinoff planned for midseason | Shield | The Whispers on Tuesdays.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if it skews towards males, that is a BIG mark in its favor at ABC.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's one of the things it has going for it.
ReplyDeleteLol, that's why I love these HH ratings posts, gets the discucssions going before the ratings even come out. TVBTN posts the ratings a lot later too. Now that I think about it actually most of the comments on TVBTN are arguments, take them out and it's probably the same lol.
ReplyDeleteDitto Arrow gots lots of promotion. Some people can never have enough or they just love to complain. Try walking in the shoes of other fans for e.g Supernatural, The 100 etc.
ReplyDeleteHa lol.
ReplyDeleteI'll never understand why people comment over there. Lots of trolls and rude people. Also the site owners are not fans of TV, they get delight with belittling fans when their shows are doing badly or cancelled.
I don't think they have enough money to promote all the new shows the way they promoted The Flash. I just hope The Messengers and iZombie get decent promotion.
ReplyDeleteFlash 1.7/1.9 in fast nationals
ReplyDeleteThank Smallville too.
ReplyDeleteWOW, that's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap at The Flash!
ReplyDeleteWorried about shield too but once they are done with that terrible lead in at once their mid season break is over they just have too do well. Otherwise I just hope they wrap everything up nicely eve though it would be devastating:(
ReplyDeleteHoly Smoak, Flash! :O
ReplyDeleteI've never seen much commenting from the site owners or admins, I know one of the founders or at least someone who's been there a long time is gone now. In his last post there were one or two arguments between him and some people :/ Whoever is running their cancellation bear twitter account though really loves putting people down!
ReplyDeleteGreat for The Flash! Even with the assumption of 20% drop next week, it is still fantastic to the network!
ReplyDeleteWhy is this the first I'm hearing of "beyond the Tank"?
ReplyDeleteOUTSTANDING FOR THE FLASH!!!
ReplyDelete1.6 for AOS...oh dear...
ReplyDeleteIt's ABC, expect an adjustment
ReplyDeleteStill.
ReplyDeleteOh yes i forgot about that lol!
ReplyDeleteFlash beat AoS
ReplyDeleteWow AoS is toast time for it to go
Oh dear, vene if it adjusts up to 1.7, it's still pretty low.
ReplyDeleteI did too, but it made me laugh. I take The Flash as a more fun show than serious show.
ReplyDeleteThe CW outrated ABC. 1.5 vs 1.3
ReplyDeleteHell's Kitchen?
ReplyDelete4.5m of the Flash premiere. Amazing!
ReplyDelete1.8 for The Flash!! That is freaking awesome for a CW show and they deserve it. One of the best pilots in years.
ReplyDelete
