Ratings Breakdown:
It was another race to the Monday overnight finish line, with first-place NBC inching past ABC by one-tenth of a rating point and CBS by three-tenths of a rating point in households. And the home of “The Voice” will have no trouble winning the evening in all key young adult demographics, while CBS remains the most improved (with year-to-year overnight household growth of 67 percent).

Tops for the evening, once again, was CBS powerhouse “The Big Bang Theory” at a 10.3 rating/16 share at 8 p.m., followed by an encore telecast at a 7.5/11 (#3) at 8:30 p.m. Most new series drop another 10 percent from week two to three in the overnights, so a dip of that exact percentage in households was no surprise for CBS drama “Scorpion” at 9 p.m. And a competitive third-place 8.0/12 was still 60 percent, on average, above year-ago sitcom occupants “2 Broke Girls” (5.1/ 8 on 10/07/13) and “Mom” (4.9/ 7). Although the real test of just how durable “Scorpion” is will occur once “2 Broke Girls” is anchoring the evening (effective on Oct. 27), three episodes in and a full season episode order should be right around the corner.

Relocated “NCIS: Los Angeles” on the Eye net at 10 p.m., meanwhile, scored a third-place 5.8/ 9, which is a considerable 53 percent improvement over failed year-ago occupant “Hostages” (3.8/ 6 on 10/07/13). “NCIS: Los Angeles” was considerably stronger airing out of “NCIS” on Tuesday last season, of course, with a 9.6/15 on 10/08/13. But facing both “The Blacklist” and “Castle” is no easy feat.

In the 8-10 p.m. battle of “Dancing With the Stars” opposite “The Voice,” the ABC dance extravaganza held a one-tenth of a rating point advantage (8.5/13 vs. 8.4/13). And both had minor slippage from the year-ago evening, with “DWTS” down by seven percent (versus a 9.1/14 on 10/07/13) and “The Voice” down by six percent (versus an 8.9/13). So, the news remains more or less consistent this season, which is a good thing. But “The Voice,” no doubt, will clobber “DWTS” in the young adult demos, with its advantage in adults 18-49 last week (4.0 rating/11 share vs. 1.8/ 5) a sizeable 122 percent, based on the Live Plus Same Day data.

Tops at 10 p.m. was NBC’s “The Blacklist” at a 6.6/11 in the overnights, which was 10 percent below the 7.3/12 on the year-ago evening. But “Castle” on ABC was no slouch at a competitive second-place 6.3/10.

In week three news, “Gotham” on Fox dipped by another 13 percent in the overnights with a 4.6/ 7 at 8 p.m. Three-week overnight track: 5.7/ 9 – 5.3/ 8 – 4.6/ 7. While this was only equal to “Bones” on the year-ago evening, the considerable early gains via the DVR and the social media presence still makes “Gotham” a definite keeper. Smaller overnight lead-in support translated into a loss of nine percent week-to-week for “Sleepy Hollow,” which scored a fourth-place 3.1/ 5 at 9 p.m. Comparably, this was down by a hefty 38 percent from the year-ago evening (5.0/ 8 on 10/07/13). But “Sleepy Hollow,” like “Gotham,” is a large option via the DVR, which is one of the more important ingredients.

In season-premiere news, relocated sophomore “The Originals” on The CW opened with a miniscule 1.0/ 1 at 8 p.m., which dropped from its year-ago series-opener (1.7/ 3 on Thursday 10/03/13) by 41 percent. And this was 10 percent below the season-premiere of former time period occupant “Hart of Dixie” on the year-ago evening (1.1/ 2 on 10/07/13). While there is much more to the overnights, don’t expect all that much based on this initial set of data.

Next on The CW was a behind-the-scenes look at the first nine seasons of “Supernatural” (subtitled “A Very Special Supernatural Special”) at a 0.8/ 1 (#5), which was not all that…well…special. Season No. 10 of “Supernatural” kicks-off this evening at 9 p.m. out of the launch of “The Flash.”

  1. The Originals started with the wrong foot. Mondays are not a good day for CW. I really hope The Flash and Supernatural do great today!!!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Bad news for the Originals :/ Damn, the CW for giving us the worst slot of the week

    ReplyDelete
  3. I think The Originals could still get 0.6 but no higher than that. Honestly, I felt the show lost its footing after Rebekah left and I couldn't really get into the 2nd half of the season after that so I'm not surprised it dropped.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Expect some heavy duty DVR gain

    ReplyDelete
  5. Guessing The Originals got around a 0.5 or 0.6. I think no matter what the show gets it will be renewed.

Looks like this is going to be a rough year for The CW.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Ouch at Gotham. FOX can't catch a break.

    ReplyDelete
  7. My guess 0.5 but if they do get 0.6 that's a win for cw on mon

    ReplyDelete
  8. DVR numbers dont help.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I m loving Gotham series. Cw ratings dance starting today . Hehehe

    ReplyDelete
  10. Rough night for CW.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I know but something is better than nothing

    ReplyDelete
  12. Any demo bw 0.5-0.6 .cw will take it gladly

    ReplyDelete
  13. It'll do much better once BBT moves away from Monday nights. And it was hardly an "ouch" once you consider DVR numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Frozen Oncers(was TeenWolfers)October 7, 2014 at 2:49 PM

I'm so glad Scorpion is holding up, I'm loving that show so much! Im getting a bit anxious to see how it does without TBBT but I think it will do well. It's just unfortunate that it's going to have a female skewing lead-in because Scorpion is male skewing.

    ReplyDelete
  15. That's not certain especially for serialized shows

    ReplyDelete
  16. Nothing is certain, but as the article says, right now it looks like a like a definite keeper.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Gotham needs to start stabilizing soon
The Blacklist is down slightly from last week but it doesn't look like it will be hitting 3s often

    ReplyDelete
  18. As feared by everyone,TO tanked.Looks like CW will have a bumpy ride ahead!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I wonder if CW can beat FOX tonight LOL

    ReplyDelete
  20. Almost everything is down. In the 25M, Gotham is down six tenths, BL is down four, TV is down three and the rest is down by at least two (except Dancing and LA). This could swing with FNs of course.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Swirch places with TO & Reign

    ReplyDelete
  22. DVR can definitely save gotham, sleepy hollow, agents of shield and forever otherwise ratings wise all these 4 of my fav shows are in huge danger

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am a bit afraid about The Originals based on this but then again, the CW is always the case in which the overnights are even less useful than always due to the extremely young skewing nature of their shows and the small numbers to begin with. Remember when he used to call Supernatural a loser on Wednesdays and it would jump to 1.0?

I am affraid but not hopeless yet.

Elsewhere, it appears that Gotham and Scorpion held well, but I want demo numbers before going further.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Frozen Oncers(was TeenWolfers)October 7, 2014 at 2:53 PM

I think as long it doesn't drop below 0.5 it should be safe

    ReplyDelete
  25. Are we sure about that? In theory it would skew towards males, but until we see numbers, I can't be entirely convinced.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Its a keeper because FOX is a mess.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thank God the dvr is saving Gotham. I really like it and it's the only new show I'm watching.

    ReplyDelete
  28. That, and the fact that the rest of Fox's schedule is collapsing.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Frozen Oncers(was TeenWolfers)October 7, 2014 at 2:54 PM

Deadline is where I got that from

    ReplyDelete
  30. Agreed the show just get better. This weeks episode was fabulous I hope it keeps up

    ReplyDelete
  31. I don't think there's a definitive show that is worthy of being called "male-skewing".. More male skewing? Sure!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh, interesting. I just remember reading, many years ago, there were a large number of female fans of Homicide: Life on the Street--more than anyone might expect. Thinking of that makes me think you can't always be 100 percent sure, you know?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Couldn't care less just as long as the show gets renewed. I've already met a handful of people on Twitter who say they can't watch it because it's on at the same time as BBT. So I trust that the numbers will rise at least a little.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If my memory serves me right, then:

    Gotham is at a 2.2.
    The Blacklist at a 2.4
    The Voice at 3.7
    Castle 2.0

And those are the only ones I remember.

    ReplyDelete
  35. With fox on a middle age crisis situation Gotham is safe.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well I hope so for TO, because Reign had a 0.9 in the overnights, which translated to 1.01 Million viewers and a 0.4 A18-49. So based on the overnight, I predict 1.1-1.2 Million viewers with a 0.5-0.6 rating.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks! ouch for Gotham and TBL

    ReplyDelete
  38. The originals isnt doing bad because of its slot. Its doing bad because Julie Plec and those in charge are alienating mass groups of their fanbases with treatment. They keep coming up with plots that no one wants, and then beg for ratings after they've sent everyone away. The Originals can take their dank queen hayley the moron all the way into cancellation.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Are the ratings for Gotham really that bad considering the competition?

    ReplyDelete
  40. DVR won't be the reason any of those shows get renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  41. 0.5-0.6 it's good for Mondays.But it was only season premiere.So i don't feel safe for TO.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm basing this on the final ratings that were available to us last week. not sure if he meant the old top 25 markets or the finals, so I'm making an assumption.

Plus, remember Scandal and HTGAWM did a 3.9 and a 3.8 on the top25 markets and they ended up doing a 3.4 and a 3.3. so these numbers are highly subjectable to change.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Very interested to see how TB is holding up in L+3 and L+7.
I think NBC would be wise to run a marathon of the series leading up to its Superbowl episode. They barely ran the show during the summer, and since it will be going away in November to make room for SOA, it will be a nice way to give the show a jolt of energy after it takes a break.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Totally saw The Originals getting creamed on Mondays.
    Still great for Scorpion.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think there is a legitimate chance that they do.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I like to call it SofA, since SOA is taken. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. No, I wasn't comparing the ratings to the official ratings last week. That's an unfair comparison but the numbers swing.

    Gotham 2.8
    Blacklist 2.6
    Voice 3.8
    Castle 1.8

    ReplyDelete
  48. That's what I said in a post down the page.

    ReplyDelete
  49. It'll have to absolutely plummet not to get renewed.
Not sure about the exact scheduling, but one problem is that it's only on for 16 episodes. Fox can't let it take a break and then try to build an audience as it runs fresh episodes in the spring, or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  50. See above. I was making an apples to apples comparison because the numbers change. There is usually a clear pattern of which shows go up, stay flat or fall from top 25 to Fast nationals.

    ReplyDelete
  51. DVR isn't saving anyone. All that matters is relative ratings. As long as Gotham's ratings are above FOX' average, the show is safe.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Once again, can't be sure until we get the prelims.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I hope Heller has an exit strategy. I don't want this to turn into the mentalist, a show that wenton for about 3 seasons too long.

    ReplyDelete
  54. are these this week? or last week?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Scorpion is definietely not male skewing http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/the-sked-monday-ratings-9-29-2014.html

    ReplyDelete
  56. Fox is just pathetic right now.

    ReplyDelete
  57. It has slightly more female viewers (in the 18-49) than male viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Premiere week aside, Gotham has handomly beaten TBL, I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Frozen Oncers(was TeenWolfers)October 7, 2014 at 3:13 PM

Woah, I got the info from Deadline but I guess it was wrong, sorry :/

    ReplyDelete
  60. Gotham being FOX's highest rated drama is saving it.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh look another entitled Klaroline stan, the show already has its family it doesnt need a blonde whiny cheerleader along with it.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Awww, I hoped/thought that the Supernatural Special would get better ratings. :(

I hope tonight's premiere gets better ones.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Meh. In relation to the rest of the FOX drama lineup it's a ratings juggernaut.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Reign had a 0.3 in A18-34 so its young skew was pretty terrible unfortunately. If TO manages to have a different skew, overnight comparisons with Reign would be meaningless. I want to believe the show did a bit better than that.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Damn Monday death slot is killing TO. Sad too cause last nights episode was great. The season looks good. I hope they move it.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Considering that Castle has been ignored for ABC, poor lead in and tough competition, 1.7 or 1.8 is what I expected for season premiere, well, the show is around these numbers this time.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I doubt they move it. Moving Supernatural to Mondays to help it on the other hand I think is likely.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Its in its 7th season
why does it need a lead-in?
Plus its the same lead in for the past couple of years and almost the same competition from last year

    ReplyDelete
  69. I think if Reign continues to drop, CW could start thinking of swapping it with The Originals. Throw one under the bus to save the better performing one. Having a Vampire Diaries/Originals night could be good too.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Isn't there only a one-day overlap? Doesn't SOA end the day after SOA (NBC) start? If so, it's not like SOA can hold that acronym forever! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  71. same competition from las year???

    ReplyDelete
  72. its only ncis La that is new and even that is not performing well-
Hostages premiered to a 1,9 last year just like NCIS LA

    ReplyDelete
  73. Not looking good for The Originals, but as long as it did a 0.5 on the demo it will be ok.
I hate to see that Sleepy Hollow is still dipping! I hope it doesn't go that much lower on the demo

    ReplyDelete
  74. do you know the ratings and audience of Ncisla last year?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Poor lead-in? Its had DWTS as a lead-in for 7 years. DWTS may not pull in the big ratings now but it did in the past which helped Castle a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  76. yes but last week premiere got 9 million with 1,9 demo

    ReplyDelete
  77. Frozen Oncers(was TeenWolfers)October 7, 2014 at 3:52 PM

I thought this weeks episode felt like a finale or a premiere episode it was just so good!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Networks needs episodes for syndication. If all of the seasons are 16 eps, expect a lot of seasons! Unless the ratings plummet that is...

    ReplyDelete
  79. yes Dwts is a poor lead in NOW, why ABC don't use dwts as a lead in for new shows? this problem with bad or god lead in is acceptable when you are talking about Revenge, don't you?

    ReplyDelete
  80. The Blacklist won on the premiere week with a 3.4 and tied in the second one with a 2.8

    ReplyDelete
  81. I wouldve killed for Revenge to have DWTS lead-in when it was pulling 4s 5s and 6s in the demo which Castle had for years. Castle should be able to stand on its own by now.

    ReplyDelete
  82. DWTS does low 2s - Castle has been in 2s
and again WHY DOES CASTLE NEED A LEAD IN? it should be able to pull its own

    ReplyDelete
  83. Revenge had Once and it was moved.

    ReplyDelete
  84. yes once was only doing 3s and high 2s
what does this have anything to do with

    ReplyDelete
  85. And Once never pulled DWTS ratings it had in its prime. Bye.

    ReplyDelete
  86. stop making excuses Castle is simply aging and to some people the writing is not the best

    ReplyDelete
  87. some people are using the same excuses for other show and this is acceptable.

    ReplyDelete
  88. No, Reign had a 0.4, and I know that The Originals skews younger, that'so why it's possible for it to have a 0.6.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Fast Nationals

    Gotham 2.5/2.4
    Scorpion 2.6/2.4
    Originals .7/.7

    ReplyDelete
  90. A show with 12-13M ( ok the demo is not that good though) of people watching is good I mean I wish some of my favorite shows had DWTS as lead-in.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Thanks!
You've been my hero since the new season started!

    ReplyDelete
  92. TO did pretty well considering the night.

    ReplyDelete
  93. is 0.7 the demo for originals or total viewers ? (not american)

    ReplyDelete
  94. Not bad for Scorpion.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Frozen Oncers(was TeenWolfers)October 7, 2014 at 4:13 PM

    Thanks for these :)
That's lower than I expected for Scorpion, im slightly concerned :P

    ReplyDelete
  96. Mmm, if The Originals did a 0.7, then it's doing really good for Monday. Could be better, but it's good enough

    ReplyDelete
  97. Not so bad for Originals.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oh thats really good considering the day, have you got a link please ?

    ReplyDelete

  101. I am a huge castle fan but even I admit it shouldn't rely on lead ins anymore. And honestly it doesn't. It beats DWTS often now. Castle is aging and ratings going down is a given. I'm grateful for DWTS for the great lead in it was in its early yrs. Now Castle shouldn't need one and it doesn't. It has its own relatively smaller and steady audience .

    ReplyDelete
  102. oh my damn really?
    3.3? ahaha that's awesome.
    tied with HTGAWM

    ReplyDelete
  103. Then, matching HTGAWM as the #2 highest drama of the week. YAAAS. OUAT is killing it!

Btw, how much did Ressurection adjust (if at all)

    ReplyDelete
  104. Happy to see Sleepy Hollow steady!
CBS should have premiered Mom a week earlier, it would have provided a better lead in than a TBBT repeat, Scorpion is still doing good, though.
Good numbers for The Originals; could've been better, but it's good enough

    ReplyDelete
  105. It did mich better on Tuesdays.. I hope they do something though.

    ReplyDelete
  106. That's great! A 3.3 is a huge rating. And it tied Scandal for the week? wow
I hope it keeps this up!

    ReplyDelete
  107. No, it's a tenth below Scandal for the week. It tied HTGAWM.

    3.3 :) Awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  109. What does this mean? Where are these from?

    ReplyDelete
  110. YES!!! the voice is going down

    ReplyDelete
  111. A tenth below! Tying Murder. It's still awesomeeeee

    ReplyDelete
  112. Have not found it yet.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Quite a drop for Scorpion sadly.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I haven't found the finals for the other Sunday shows yet.

    ReplyDelete
  115. He mustve got it from the top 25. Res and Revenge wouldnt be on there.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Banged by Corey StollOctober 7, 2014 at 4:20 PM

    Only 2.5 for Scorpion ... that's quite a drop.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Frozen Oncers(was TeenWolfers)October 7, 2014 at 4:21 PM

    Wth happened to Scorpion?!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Damn, that's a huge drop for Scorpion.
And TBBT is in low 4s already is a bit worrying.

    ReplyDelete
  119. "Once Upon A Time and Resurrection were each adjusted up two tenths and Revenge was adjusted up a single tenth while Madam Secretary was adjusted down a single tenth among adults 18-49 versus Sunday's preliminary ratings." (from TVBTN)

    ReplyDelete
  120. The Originals got a 0.7 in 18-34, too.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Look at the 1/2 hr breakdowns that i posted in the comments.

    ReplyDelete
  122. i hate that show lol

    ReplyDelete
  123. Actually, a 4.4 is still considered mid 4s. I don't think it is worriesome yet, if it keeps this rating- or goes lower- when it moves back to Thursdays, then it's worriesome

    ReplyDelete
  124. I don't like the Scorpion drop at all, I think it's a bit concerning, even if last week really was a bit of an overachievement. Gotham still did well though. Sleepy Hollow stabilizing is very good news for FOX.
As for the battles of the 10pm dramas, The Blacklist did about the same even with a depressed voice but the half hour drop is still a bit troubling. Castle had okay retention out of weak DWTS and LA was a bit of a let down falling so much after what I thought was an okay debut last week.

As for The Originals, I think it did well though I was hoping (not expecting) that 0.8. Still, unlike the other networks, CW veteran shows tend to have higher ratings during fall than the premiere, so I will remain hopeful. And given its spring ratings and the night in general for the CW, I still call it a winner.

    ReplyDelete
  125. shows that likely wouldn't hit the ratings The Voice does every week.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I would usually consider it mid 4s, if it was another show. TBBT has different standards.

    ReplyDelete
  127. it was totally dependent on NCIS i guess ,CBS is struggling with 10 pm slots

    ReplyDelete
  128. It really shouldn't be lead-in dependent six seasons in.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Frozen Oncers(was TeenWolfers)October 7, 2014 at 4:29 PM

The Scorpion drop has me concerned as well, I adore the show, I don't want to see it go much lower, I'm hoping it was anomaly or something, to do so well last week and drop so much this week is odd.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Still better than Hostages. Once The Blacklist moves to Thursdays it might do better. Also, it might get a big lift from DVR although I haven't seen any numbers yet.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Don't like those NCIS LA numbers one bit. Scorpion's drop is a little worrying. I have no idea what'll happen to it when TBBT moves in a few weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  132. 1.9 (or 1.8) for Castle - not great, but probably it will still be ABC´s 2nd rated show at 10.00!
And since ABC is on a roll adjusting up wise, I can still dream about Castle getting a 2.0:):)

    ReplyDelete
  133. Yes but it still has scorpion which is doing 2.5 in demo which is similar to NCIS yet the drops are alarming. I thought it will give competition to Castle but Castle is performing better

    ReplyDelete
  134. Well Blacklist will be against Scandal... I think one of the two will fall by the end of the season

    ReplyDelete
  135. NCIS LA will move to weekends if it keeps performing like this or probably get cancelled ?

    ReplyDelete
  136. I'm glad that Sleepy Hollow at least stabilized from last week. I was worrying it was going to drop further. Also, Gotham, The Blacklist, and Castle are still doing very well.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Oh no scorpion that's bad I'm hurting now it will be very worrying once the tbbt lead in is gone
Castle stripped to the high ones too.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Ehh at NCIS LA. This is a crazy fall.
Scorpian's ratings in the next few weeks will be interesting. Honestly it's a fun watch but not good enough for 3s for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I love scorpion too and I'm really worried for it now. One of the reasons I hate getting attached to new shows .

    ReplyDelete
  140. Wait? WHAT?! Originals did a 0.7 ?!?!
    THANK THE LORD

    ReplyDelete
  141. I thought scorpion did well.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Scorpion's drop is worrying. I don't like the NCIS LA numbers either but it's still doing better than Hostages. I'm not declaring it canceled yet.

    ReplyDelete
  143. It did win the night but the dropped is worrying from last week

    ReplyDelete
  144. Dude, I expected Originals to drop to a 0.5 or 0.6 so a 0.7 on a MONDAY night after being moved there with little to no promotion indicating a time-change is a very good sign in my book.

Keep in mind: monday+CW have never been a solid combination.

    ReplyDelete
  145. 0.7 isn't too bad for TO

    ReplyDelete
  146. Not sure. Depends on how other shows do. If there is very little else to be removed from the schedule, then it may well get cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Yes, it is. But not by that much.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I was actually referring to NCIS LA doing better when The Blacklist moves. I'm not sure State of Affairs is gonna do that great so I hope that heps LA.

The Blacklist vs Scandal will be interesting to see but I think they can co-exist. Of course both of them might drop some, but I think they will still be way above cancelation levels.

    ReplyDelete
  149. not at all actually, I'm surprised even.
I was expecting TO to perform like Reign or Hart of Dixie did last year but it getting a 0.7 is a pretty good start for a show that was moved to the networks weakest night.

I had season 3 already written off

    ReplyDelete
  150. It's extremely unlikely that LA is cancelled this year. 10pm in general is just a big problem for CBS. Elementary will struggle to even hit these numbers (it had a 1.4 finale for god sakes), CSI is doing very low 1s and while Stalker premiered with a 2.0, all likelihood says that it will drop enough in the next two weeks to put it behind LA. That leaves POI and even that one is doing only marginally better.

    ReplyDelete
  151. The timeslot typo sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  152. NCIS: Los Angeles will not get cancelled this year unless it goes to Hostages territory and even then, I think it's unlikely.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Don't forget Hostages was a serialized show and LA can easily get some higher numbers when Castle and The Blacklist are in repeat mode. It will also be interesting to see how LA does once State of Affairs enters, I am not sure it SofA is gonna do Blacklist numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  154. We might just get a 3rd season (and 4th for syndication) yet. Here's to 2 more years of The Originals gracing our screens with their presence!

    ReplyDelete
  155. Hostages was a newbie and LA is in its sixth year. Also, LA is already in syndication so I agree that it's unlikely to be canceled.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I'm interested to see what happens to the CBS Monday line-up when TBBT moves.

    ReplyDelete
  157. After last nights episode I truly hope that we make it, cheers mate!

    ReplyDelete
  158. Stuff that is certainly ahead of LA in CBS's cancellation pole list (in no particular order)
    - The Amazing Race
    - Madam Secretary
    - CSI
    - The Good Wife
    - Blue Bloods
    - Hawaii Five-0
    - Stalker
    - Two and a Half Men/ The McHarthys
    - Person of Interest (not owned)

CBS will not be cancelling NCIS: Los Angeles, it won't happen.

    ReplyDelete
  159. It's really sad for shows like Gotham and Sleepy Hollow. Going up against the colossal The Voice and way overrated TBBT, they really stand no chance.

They will both end up renewed (SH possibly moved to Friday's next year, akin to Fringe). Gotham will end up renewed very soon. To much DVR gain and social media buzz to not. Plus, with the huge troubles at FOX, these are a few of the only good shows they have (Quality & Rating wise).

    ReplyDelete
  160. Wow 0.7 for the originals did not see that coming totally .cw might have just found out their mon debacle

    ReplyDelete
  161. FOX has better things to send to Friday than Sleepy Hollow

    ReplyDelete
  162. Yeah, true. Only way NCIS LA goes if it has a massive drop and doesn't come back up again.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Maybe, but the Supernatural Special wasn't an actual scripted episode so it did well considering that and the fact it was on a Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  164. The Amazing Race is not getting cancelled anytime soon. They are already casting fir season 27. TAAHM is ending this season.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I don't think they have anything they can send to Fridays actually ahah

    ReplyDelete
  166. The Voice won the 9pm timeslot.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Cancelled or moved to summer is indifferent for these purposes. It may also be kept for the regular season but as spackle, similarly to how Undercover Boss has been held.

    ReplyDelete
  168. And there was me thinking every day but Monday was like a Friday for FOX.

    ReplyDelete
  169. What do you consider "better"? My point is simply that there is no way SH will be canceled. To much rave about it, critically and otherwise. They would send it to Friday WAY before canceling it.

    ReplyDelete
  170. I agree, it did well.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I don't see reason for getting worried just yet. But it shouldn't do this type of drops again.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Yes, I agree with you.....but, after seeing the numbers, I think TO did great, because the show had almost no promotion like you said and it aired on a Monday with so much competition. I think the show will do great.

    ReplyDelete
  173. how come they moved it to mondays? i thought it was doing fine on tuesdays.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Oh come on Castle is the best, !! they deserve a better rating!!

    ReplyDelete
  175. I guess to try and stabilize Monday nights. Last year was bad and so was the year before that. I guess their logic is it did well it has a fan base and they will follow it to Monday's.

    ReplyDelete
  176. CW's trying to fix Mondays. Last TV season they pretty much used Monday as an extra death slot.

    ReplyDelete
  177. When I say "better" I mean there are other shows that rate lower and are deemed better for a Friday move than Sleepy Hollow; the show could go to Wednesday or Thursdays first. It may not be the breakout star that it was last year, but its ratings are good enough for a weekday that is not Friday

    ReplyDelete
  178. That's true, only coming midseason something could be moved there, but really, I doubt FOX would do so.

Coming next season Sleepy Hollow may move to a different night, but I highly doubt its Fridays

    ReplyDelete
  179. Mondays this year are going to be wacky. Once TBBT moves, Scorpion and NCIS LA will most likely take another dip however I'm more interested in the 10 PM slot when the Blacklist goes away and State of Affairs replaces it next month. I'm really interested in how Castle and NCIS: LA will be affected by that. I think that change will prove whether or not NCIS LA depended on its mother ship. So far after two episodes, it's starting to show that way. I don't know if the low numbers mean that they have lost viewers or The Blacklist and Castle are their preferences but right now, they're not on the sunny side of things.
