Wow, I did NOT expect it to be Garnett. That's almost like if they killed Rick off on Walking Dead. This ep had alot going on. And I'm surprised Murphy didn't turn. I think he may actually be turned but he's retained the human part of his brain so far. This was one of the better eps.
You can thank Craig Engler for that. He wrote the episode and knowing how he's pretty much open to viewer-pulses on social media, he probably knew what to expect when he wrote Garnett's death in.
YIKES -- did not expect that one at all. Garnett was my favorite character! Plus he was so clearly the leader of the group. I feel like they just blew a big hole right through the rest of the season, but I'll be interested to see what they've got in mind. It seems to me that a show like this one (based so much more on straight-up action than complex character development) takes a huge chance when they take out a central player. The other characters are more sketched than totally fleshed out, so you REALLY feel that void. Still, the show has a pretty unique voice -- obviously they've got something specific brewing with Addy's weird flashbacks and Murphy's transformation.
It was actually a good episode, but that ending. I can't believe they would kill off Garnett, who even wrote the episode? Why not get rid of a character who does nothing rather than a really likable.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that it has to be Charlie still.

ReplyDeleteCan they bring Garnett back somehow?
ReplyDeleteI think the episode was really good outside of killing off Garnett. Bad move this early on.
