Great episode love John Noble he great actor but his character is getting a bit annoying they can't keep giving him leverage understand he hating his mother but his father didn't even know he exist
Love the show, but one of the things of Sleepy Hollow that has been a consistent problem is there are too many conveniences to move the plot forward, 'oh, let's have a clue there, let's have a clue here, let's bring in this character out of nowhere who can help them." I found this episode was guilty of too many conveniences, but nevertheless it still enjoyable.
I liked it. I enjoyed Joe and really liked all his scenes with Abbie. The flashback of Abbie and John made me go "awwww" it was sweet. That Wendigo was awesome. (But I think I loved the weeping lady more) loved the make up with that one. But yeah I felt so bad for Joe throughout the whole thing then happy for him when he asked Abbie for the letter of recommendation.
Hawley and Crane, that scene was hilarious, and when Hawley said, "Unbelievable." I LOL'D and said, "Right??" He does his whole "Ichabod thing" and these guys are all for it. Lmao that was funny. I really get a kick out of Hawley and Ichabod not liking each other, it's so funny. Hawley and Jenny however, that scene with them preparing for the wendigo I thought, "seriously writers? This is the time you choose for them to have this conversation?" I would've preferred a , "ok so you ready? Yeah, I'm ready, okay watch your back." Not Jenny googling her eyes asking questions, while Hawley just seemed annoyed while he was loading the gun. It just seemed like it was just squeezed in there, and it was awful timing.
Irving and Henry, I get more and more interested in Irving with every episode and when Irving confronted "The driver" I think that was the best part of the whole episode. Well, ok maybe not BEST, but certainly the top 5 of the night. Haha I felt so bad for him though when he called Abbie, "You've been my one phone call for a long time." Awwww, he seemed so tired and hopeless. I hope Ichabod and Abbie can save him.
Abbie and Ichabod, always fun, duh. Loved all their scenes. I loved when Ichabod cut his hand after Abbie cut hers and she gave him this look, and he goes, "well of course iI'm coming with you." I cracked up. Also enjoyed Ichabod trying to remember Superman's alter ego, that was really fun. "Peter Parker." LMFAO!!! That was so cute. Next iI'd love to see Ichabod read a comic book.
The ending was great. I was hoping the spider would kill her, but by the looks of it, she'll be going through a slow painful death which is also good enough for me. Well okay, that was my second thought, my first thought was "why does is always have to be a f**king spider?!" (Yes I have a terrible phobia), then came the wishful death. Third thought....As much as I love Ichabod, and hate Katrina (although i'dI'd be sad for Ichabod if Katrina bit it) they are very naive when it comes to Henry/Jeremy w/e you want to call him. Yes yes, he's your son, you love him, that's all fine and dandy. But he is NOT your son. Your son is not in there. I feel they're really wasting their time trying to "get him back" he has had yearsssss of hatred built up, it's not going away any time soon, may never will. And the more they concentrate on trying to get their son back, the more the world is at paral. They need to start thinking with their heads and not their hearts. Easier Said then done of course, but shit make it a freaking option, and don't be blind.
great ep... loved getting some more background about Abby and Sheriff Corbin's relationship thru Joe and thought that we might get another ally with Joe as it seems that it was something that his father wanted, but it seems that he may return later. I was going to complain that Henry just waltzing into the Masonic prison and scoring a win was just a bit too easy, but I get that the writers will have Henry get some wins and then get overconfident and then that will be his downfall.....
I really enjoyed this episode, but then I always enjoy Sleepy Hollow! Last episode saw a ratings boost (5.02 mil)............perhaps it will carry over to this episode. Excellent MOTW, backstory on Abbie and Corbin relationship, and of course Crane is just to funny.........the last scene.........."HaloIsMy8!TC#12" was just priceless (lol)! 4 THE SLEEPY HEAD ARMY VICTORY, I am Nobody!!!
DAMN IT PARRISH!!! yeah this guy needs to die, just when i thought our heroes would get the upper hand but nope, loved all the ichabod moments as usual especially the "arachnid fellow" lmao and him being a gamer great episode
Loved the episode. I liked Joe Corbin a lot. His and Abby's relationship was so sweet. Ichabod as usual was very funny. I love it when Crane and Hawley team up. Hilarious. Only thing I don't like Jeeny being jealous of Hawley's attraction to Abby. Unnecessary as the sisters already went through hell and found each other. No need for additional relationship drama. Next week is going to be so cool.
What took Irving so long to call Abby. :-) Glad he did though. Is there no intent required in evil mythology? I'm more used to tales of deals with the devil. Liked Ichabod jumping on the gaming bandwagon. Wonder if Abby has to preform the log in ritual every time he plays. :-) I want the guy who played the leader of the biker gang to get more acting work. I liked him. Headless isn't going to be happy that War has attacked his beloved Katrina. I'm guessing everyone knew that Joe Jr. (I hope I have his name right) was stupid to trust War. Good ep. I'm liking this season but not loving it like I did season 1.
I agree with you about Noble's character. At least he hasn't always won. That would be too much for me.
I get why he hates his father though. It's not logical but I think he hates his father for not being there (despite the fact that he was 'dead')....blames him for it even though it was his mother who gave him away. It looks like they're going for the angle that Ichabod's love is the the thing that may save him. I think Ichabod is the only one with a chance *because* he had no part in creating Henry's situation.
I like that idea about Ichabod's love being the thing that could save him. That's a good point. It's tough, 'cause I sympathize with Ichabod and Katrina wanting to save their son...but I like Henry being evil and causing havoc, too, so... If they were able to somehow redeem him, though, that makes me wonder where on earth they'd go next. Use Henry's history with Moloch to give them ideas on how to defeat Moloch?
The tone of Irving's voice when he was talking to Abbie at the end unnerved me a little. Like you said, he sounded tired...and also sounded like Henry was starting to get to him, like he was starting to feel like he was in a hopeless situation. I'm hoping, of course, he isn't going to give up, that he'll fight back, but still...I couldn't help but worry about him at the end there, and Abbie looked pretty concerned, too. I too am liking the interaction between Irving and Henry, though, so I'm very interested to see where that goes, to see how long it takes until Irving falls into Henry's trap-if he falls into his trap. I too liked the interaction between Joe and Abbie. I especially liked Abbie reminiscing about her days babysitting Joe when he was a kid-her care for him, and the memories of her affection for the Corbin family in general, were sweet. I'm just nervous about the idea of someone who used to turn into a freaky creature wanting to go and work for our government now, though, LOL. I like how they tied his transformation in with the crushing of the bones that Henry did a few episodes back. That guy's meticulous, slow plotting and deliberate targeting of anyone tied to Abbie and Crane has me very nervous. Agreed on the Crane/Abbie scenes. The Peter Parker conversation was cute, and I loved the running joke about "buns" throughout the episode, too. Abbie's right, though, "double jugs" sounds a lot weirder than "buns". But it also sounds funnier, so... We'll disagree again on Katrina-I'm hoping they don't kill her off. I suspect things will be tense between her and Ichabod for a while, but I'm hoping they'll figure some stuff out with the issues they're dealing with. And Ichabod revealing he still cares for his son surprised me-he's been so determined in his mission so far. But he's also been known to pine for what he's lost over time-he wants things to be back to normal with his wife, and he never really got a chance to know his son in the proper way a father should know his son, and so I can see why he's so desperate and longing to fix all of that. Whether he'll be successful or not, though, that I do not know. I do agree with you on the spider. Bad enough they already showed up on another series I like last week, not keen on seeing them show up here as well :p. Ugh. Spiders are evil little creatures.
Your reply was great. I just have a few things to add. I do think that Joe will return, and since he is cured, (right?) I don't have an issue with him going off to work with the gov't. Lmao!! The "double jugs" bit was TOO FUNNY! I laughed even harder when Abbie corrected herself and Ichabod smiled. Lol The crushing of the bones tie in, was perfect! That was a real nice touch. I like when they connect little things like that together. I do hope Irving gets through it, but right now, it's not looking good. But I'm not giving up on him.
Ichabod and Henry. Sigh...things won't be normal with them ever, and I really don't see Henry "returning from the edge" now if they ever do decide to "redeem" Henry, they better not make it lame. B/c redeeming him would just be lame on its' own. But I wouldn't be opposed to a sweet goodbye betweean him and Ichabod.
Aw, thanks :). I think he will, too, and I hope he does. LOL at the (right?) after the cured thing...yeah, it looked like all was well at the end of the episode with him, but with this show, who knows? But I definitely could see him doing some good things while working for the government-he sounds like he's got a pretty good head on his shoulders. Just needed a little sorting out, thanks to Abbie :D. Hehe, I loved that, too. He plays in her world, she'll play in his in return. Yeah, I'm trying to pay attention to those little connecting threads, to see how they add up as the season goes on-I just know a lot of what's been happening thus far is going to come back in a big way down the line somehow, just like how everything culminated in the finale for last season. I'm not giving up on Irving, either. He's tough. He's a fighter. He'll figure something out. There's gotta be a loophole somewhere. As of now I tend to agree with your sentiments on the idea of redeeming Henry. If they DO come up with some cool way to do it, fine, but otherwise, yeah, he's a good villain for the Witnesses to deal with, and the tension between him and Ichabod alone is fun and fascinating to explore, so I'm all for keeping it going. A sweet, emotional goodbye scene would be lovely, though, yes. I do get the feeling someone in the Crane family will not have their story turn out the way they want-who that person will be, I'm not sure. But someone's in for a world of pain down the line, I think.
Joe's a good kid. I wouldn't say "Thanks to Abbie" for the sorting out, but i will say, i'm glad they talked it out, he resented her for so long and blamed her for his father's neglect and death. So it was really nice when he let it go. I do hope he returns and doesn't get killed in battle, however, i would find that bittersweet, he'd go out like a hero just like he wanted, b/c that's how John went out. But yeah i would like it if he returned. But it would work either way, that's just me.
The connecting i love in particular b/c not only does it connect a certain SL, it also makes up for amazing flashblacks. It's the little things like that, that hold so much sentiment. I love when writers do that in shows. We'll be introduced to something in season 1, then they won't go back to it til like season 4, 5, 6. lol it makes me go, "awww." "omg." "finally we have answers." lol it's just great.
Oh i LOVE the interactions between Henry and Ichabod, they're soo intense and filled with such suspense. The way they play off each other is pure gold. I look forward to their next scene. They really sell that they're father and son gone terribly wrong. Better yet, they really sell that they're father and son, despite Henry being much older than Ichabod. lol It's totally works. But yeah if they redeem him, honestly i'll be pissed. I'm getting so tired of my shows having villians and they become redeemed or their backstory on WHY they became evil is just sooo lame. I think Henry's story is great, and i like him the way he is, like you said, he is a great villian for them right now. But IF he gets redeemed, I better not see him crying his eyes out to his mommy b/c i'll be HIGHLY upset.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
That was great. I love Ichabod trying new world things and whoa at the end. Poor Irving, too, but at least he asked for help.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode love John Noble he great actor but his character is getting a bit annoying they can't keep giving him leverage understand he hating his mother but his father didn't even know he exist

A lot of fans complain about that. It never bothered me, but tonight I did see it, a lot of it, it was too much at once.

ReplyDeleteI don't feel that Ichabod and Abbie will be a couple or even a partner like Bone and Booth in the first seasons of BONES.
Loved the episode. I liked Joe Corbin a lot. His and Abby's relationship was so sweet. Ichabod as usual was very funny. I love it when Crane and Hawley team up. Hilarious.
