  1. Elias is going to war with Dominic. Harold is going to war with Samaritan. Loved Harold getting Bear to eat his food.

  2. 1)Badass Harold. He seems to be pretty determined after his chat with The Machine.
    2) Enrico Colantoni is having so much fun with this. You can see it it. How about Scarface shooting the super rifle?
3)Was Shaw driving a Ferrari wearing high heels?

  3. Another everyweek awesome ep for this incredible show.... loved all the layers in this ep, and that everyone except for Root got to play.... very interesting development with the brewing war between Elias and Dominic... and we've yet to see if there will be a tie in with Samaritan and Dominic, and that Harold was off conducting a sly mission of his own, being proactive against Samaritan.... fun cotw that gave us some really fun/funny moments..... "How do you do that with your voice?" - love it, Shaw putting Bear on the phone with Finch to get him to eat, and of course the slow mo walk up of Shaw and Fusco.... outstanding....

  4. This show is just so awesome. Another fantastic episode.

Can't say I missed Root this week. Looks like Elias will be the one that dies in the near future. Harold is so ballsy going to Decima HQ. Loved Shaw running point until she couldn't resist. Reese and Fusco were priceless. Seeing what happens between Elias and Dominic will be awesome to watch

  5. Not only that this episode was a real fun way to introduce a geeky fanboy for john's man in suit identity like an actual comic book hero

  6. Miss Bridges looked like an older Root. lol

  7. Another good episode. Can't wait to see the war between Elias and Dominick. Finch being a bad ass was cool.

  8. She also played Harold's therapist in The Devil's Share, but her face was never seen on screen!

  9. I'll go with "Good" but only because of the 2nd half. Most of the 1st half seemed very...odd to me, I don't know. I didn't like the number case very much and the also the character. They had some scenes (the scenes surrounding Bear were great), but others felt so... weird placed, like when Sameen and Fusco joined Reese and the fake detective. Can't really explain it.

The episode improved when the connection to Elias was established, Finch's plot was pretty good and, in the end, the episode did fit into the larger context.
Interesting though that not even Greer seems to have much insight into Samaritan anymore. I don't think it's up to good things.

  10. Batman and Commissioner Gordon~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!XD

Between the Finch, Greer, and Elias/brotherhood plot twists, along with Walter, this was a good one!
    (Hope we see Walter again)

  11. Elias makes any episode better. That's because he was introduced and given a rich backstory in season 1. More recent additions (Dominic, Greer, etc.) are not as intriguing because many of the characters have now become flat with too much emphasis on the battle of the machines. I agree that the HR storyline was much more fully developed with fascinating recurring characters such as Simmons, Donnelly, Szymanski, etc. I think that many viewers are "tuning out" because of this; great characters used to be the hallmark of POI!

  12. It was ok. It didn't wow me like last week's, but it was better than Brotherhood.

  13. I don't think Harold will just spy or work on Bridges... He's attracted to her. and viceversa. Hoping a conflict of interest. And he'll have to try to reclut her.

Love the way they keep trying to prepare the audiance about a possible romance john and sammeen. I'd really like to seem them together. With Carter it didnt work that well.

I'm liking the new line, and hope Harold will start to speak with the machine again. Maybe union Bridges and harold is the key to help the machine beat samaritan. 2 exceptional brains who seem to also have chemistry... I cant wait for the next episode.
Also curious about the war elias and dominic. I'm glad they give him some story...

  14. Hmm, what to say? This episode was strange. Don't get me wrong, it was a good episode but I felt like watching two very different episodes at the same time.

The part where Reese, Fusco and Shaw were helping the fake detective was okay but this story line only really kicked into high gear towards the end when the shootout happened and the guns were confiscated which in turn led to Elias meeting Dominic. So, in a way, the whole gun smuggling case was a set up for the important meeting between the two crime lords. I like Elias but I am also intrigued by this Dominic. He was not afraid of Elias at all. He named Elias' friend at the NYPD (notice how Elias' smirk vanished when Dominic told the name John Riley) and it was a subtle indicator that he (Dominic) is in the know how and is not doing this blindly.

Regarding Dominic - I am not in any hurry to name him as 'not a compelling character'. I am confident that the writers have a good story line in place for him. The little we have seen of him - he is clever, smart and ruthless. He is slowly but surely trying to take control over the city's organized crime. He is pushing Elias and we all know that sooner or later war is going to break out. The moves that Dominic makes against Elias in this war (and his success in this war) will help determine if his character is compelling or not. Because if he is shrewd enough to defeat Elias then he is a character worthy of my full attention.

Regarding Harold's story line - it started out innocuously but the path where it ended up was amazing. Too many burning questions were raised:

From the premiere and the subsequent episode, we know (and Harold has a hint) that Samaritan has set out to throttle all other AIs in the world either by acquiring/absorbing them or shutting them down. Why is Samaritan so interested in the lady's algorithms? It has even allocated seed money for her company, Geospatial Predictive Analysis - that means it is supporting her company and does not see her as a threat. But why? Does Samaritan feel that it can benefit from her algorithms? Will it use/absorb/co-opt her algorithms and then send one of her agents to kill the lady? Or will it just use her as a pawn to be sacrificed later?

How and where does Harold come into all of this? Who really organized Harold's trip to Hong Kong? Is the Machine already
talking to Harold and gave him the lady CEO's number? Or were events
maneuvered by the Machine to get Harold to Hong Kong (like the way it
made sure Reese would get on a specific plane in 4C) and he was then
given the lady's number? Or maybe the Machine had nothing to do with it
and Harold is taking a proactive approach? But then again, how would Harold know about the lady's research? What did Harold get the 'mugger' to install on her laptop? Bug? A back door?

    Thoughts?

  15. Excellent episode, I like the confrontation between Elias and Dominic, look foward to see more of the this urban war. In the other side of the plot we have Finch flirt with a woman in Hong Kong that end up being his first target after talk to the machine (we need a flashback back of this talk). Great case of the week with Reese protect a fan and fake cop.

The title call "Pretenders" and we have three case of people pretend to be a person they're not, Reese, the POI of the week and Finch.

  16. I have to admit that I am not completely sure what her company does/intends to do but the impression I got is that her system is potentially more sophisticated than Samaritan (or The Machine). Perhaps a combination of Minority Report and Cap. 2 Dr. Arnim Zola's algorithm? Where it predicts what people are likely to do before they actually do anything that would be detected (i.e. emails, wire transfers and meetings) by something as sophisticated as Samaritan. Samaritan, like The Machine is interested in evolving. That is my best guess.

  17. It was a very excellent episode, with Walter's great scenes with Reese, Harold getting Bear to eat again, Harold taking out the mugger, and lots of Elias. I just love having Elias in again as a prominent character--he's great!

  18. It's early days yet on the Brotherhood. We had a lengthy period of development with HR, remember. I do agree about Dominic not being a very dynamic character yet, however.

  19. Fantastic episode yet again! Love all the different but ultimately intersecting elements, from Finch, Miss Bridges & Samaritan to Reese, this weeks-PoI-Walter, Alias & The Brotherhood. Plus loved to nod to the fans in the form of Water fangirling all over Reese and the gang!

  20. That was so much fun! My favorite bit was at the end.... Reese: Don't say it. Walter: It's just a scratch. If you're ever looking for the perfect geek flirt dialog....that was it! "What's your favorite equation?"

  21. I liked Harold's secret mission to indirectly infiltrate Decima and Samaritan. He had good chemistry with that lady. Hoping to see more of that when they meet again. Harold, talking to Bear on the phone, to get him to eat, was great.

Elias is finally doing something proactive, yay! Hopefully, he'll either take out Dominic, or they take each other out in an epic blowout.

I enjoy John and Fusco's partnership, as cops and off-the-grid. Hoping they don't get rid of John's cop cover identity any time soon. It's a nice change, seeing John being forced to work somewhat within the confines of the law, while still secretly doing his "man in the suit" stuff. The fanboy fake detective was a funny and entertaining guest star.
