    Klaus, the specialiest special snowflake of all the special snowflakes there is. Closely followed by Hayley
    I cringed at their scenes together.


    Yussuf Gatewood is brilliant as Finn, he's truly villainous and hateworthy. Not like Finn was on TVD but for TOs universe it works well
    Good that they switched Esthers body. Sonja Sohn is extra creepy as Esther.
    I can't stomach Josephs crying scenes, the longer he's on-screen the more one realizes that he's limited to a small set of emotions. He's not terrible but by far has dropped on my list of "best CW actors". I'd even argue that Daniel Sharman is better than him. This episode took most of the fun out of Klaus' character and made him HARD to swallow. Truly annoying. Not enjoyably evil, just plain annoying.


    I do like Gia, she seems like a great addition as an apprentice, however I need to see more of the actress.
    I need to say it again though: Klaus and Hayley interaction is conversation wise like scratching a chalk board. Horrible performances on both ends, awful dialogue and overly romanticized "feel bad for me" themes. Cringeworthy.


    Elijah was there, as usual. Did enjoy him being reluctant to mentor Gia, glad that he's away from Hayley and Klaus now and has his own arc instead of playing bystander. That being said: he still served as a bystander in the dinner scenes. Get him far away from his family. Maybe that works
    Marcel became a LOT more bearable, he actually showed some leadership qualities and knows that he's not all powerful


    I did miss Mikael though. And Cami....and Davina.


    Good episode, torn down by the gruesome realization that all that made me stomach the main character is gone all of a sudden.

    I agree. He is crying EVERY damn episode! Its not epic anymore, its annoying.
    PT is the weakest actor on the show, please just limit her scences. Her and JoMo together are the worst (one overacts, the other underacts)
    The episode was ok but didn't love it as much as I expected. Too much talk

    Yo! Esther is one crazy bitch. I have missed her. Hahahahaha She's ridiculous. This episode was great!! I really enjoyed all of it. (Except the parts with Oliver and Marcel). LOved the family reunion, but I'm looking for the REAL family reunion, with ALL of them together. Mikael and Kol were missing, and I can't believe Esther still doesn't know. I like her new body, the 16 year old was nice and all, but THIS one is so much more intimadating.

    I really enjoyed the flash backs, and seeing the ORIGINAL Esther was awesome. I really liked how they explained all the stuff with already knew about the Mikaelson's history in a different way, The way they explained it for the ones who never watched TVD, and just watch this show was nice. (Though I say we got the better reveal with the actions and dialog instead of just the dialog) And it was nice for Klaus to bring up the Eldest brother, though iI always forget his name. I do wonder if they'll ever have a flashback with him. To me, it'd be interesting.

    I enjoyed the dinner scene. Their were a lot of great lines and feelings in that scene. "It's been a long time....Finn." "Did she bring you back so you can wash her knickers?" Hahahaha Klaus that was good. And Elijah, "You're as pretentious and dull just like this meal." HAHAHAHA and when Klaus laughed at that, iI cracked up b/c it's so true. Although, iI must say, Finn did not bore me as much as FOREVER, probably b/c he was surrounded by his brothers. I see he really was fond of Elijah with his words tonight. Elijah was just sitting there bored, drinking his wine. Lol

    I liked the way Elijah described being a vampire to....iI can't remember her name. Lol But it was sexy, very very different from how it's been explained by our other TVD characters, it was...."Elijah style" Yeahhh that's a good way to put it. Also loved how he ordered Damon's drink. Another thing to add to the list of Elijah being fond of Damon. Lol

    Haylijah....Hayley, how do you expect Elijah to talk to you when all you do is give him attitude?? Ugh. But it's w/e i'mI'm not bothered by my ship and their problems, it'll be resolved later.

    Missed Camille again tonight. Missed Josh, Davina, eh, not so much. And can't wait for next week!!! Another showdown!!! Hell yeah!!!

    This was good, a little slow but I enjoyed all of the character aspects. I thought the dinner scene was great. I like the actor playing Finn and was getting used to teen Esther. However, I'm really looking forward to Lenore/Esther, the address brought a lot of warrmth to the role. Not sure if it makes sense but Lenore/Esther actually made me wonder if there really was some love there. I don't think the teen actress could have pulled off the range.

    No Cami, Davina, Kol or Mikael but there was still a lot to entertain. I really hope we get a true family reunion soon.

    Klaus being the special snowflake lol. I get that the show is Klaus-centric but do we have to move EVERY storyline to benefit just him? Doesn't make sense to have him as the favourite son but it's not entirely surprising which says a lot for the show.


    It was probably my favourite episode on TO just because of Yusuf's performance and the fact we actually got a family dinner with dialogue that kept me interested. I loved all of Finn's lines, some of the brothers' responses and the fact they changed Esther to a far more intimidating body than before. Still a psycho tho.

    Disappointing. Too much build up to this dinner and then it was like nothing really happened. My hopes were set too high. I wanted Davina and Mikael to crash the dinner party.

    finally, although I don't want it to be a final fight between either. Mikael needs to stick around until the series finale as the final villain for the brothers to face (daggers come in handy for such plot devices :P)

    The young girl esther inhabited couldnt pull off the original esther actors elegance. The more mature one didnt either. bring back her original body somehow. these body hopping is reminding me of the Greta's from chuck.

    I think they were just focusing on Klaus in this episode and the story of how Esther tried to keep him from ever finding out he was a werewolf - so she obviously knew from the beginning (which clarified things for me, because I'd always wondered if she knew for sure who Klaus' father was or if she legitimately had no idea).

    Next week: When Hayley gets a tip that Vincent (Finn) is recruiting young, unsuspecting teenagers in order to build a werewolf army, she enlists the help of Elijah and Marcel to rescue the group.

    Since she's tied to the Elijah/Marcel stuff I think she'll be in it a fair amount.

    that dinner scene was so intense and i loved that last scene with klaus and elijah, hayley and elijah's tension is making me very sad but i know they'll get through it and esther is out of her freaking mind geez

    I really enjoyed this episode! There were some really good scenes/acting this episode............Joseph Morgan (Klaus) and Daniel Gillies (Elijah) don't receive the credit they deserve as actors..........their scenes together are always great! More of Alice Evans (Esther) is a good thing, Jules. This season is great so far. 4 THE ORIGINALS, THE REPEATS, AND ALL THE COPIES, I am Nobody!!!

    Good to have Alice Evans back! I really don't like the new Finn. It's so strange to see other actors. I liked the episode but I missed Kol and Mikeal.

    Yeah, I stopped watching this show late last season, in part because I got so damn tired of "poor little me" Klaus. I started watching again this season and they still haven't moved past in. But I'll watch for a bit, I still like some of the other characters enough to make it worth it.

    Pros:
    1- Finn: the actor delivered probably the best scene for me this season, he makes a great villain, just like Mikael , and I love his back story and how he was always jealous of Klaus somehow, am on Team Finn now!
    2-Lenore: if you loved Cassie than Lenore is just way better, loved how her threats seem genuine just by the look in her eyes, she's coming for her children and loved ones, and I just can't wait .
    3- Gia: she had limited screen time, but am looking forward to see her vampire journey with the help of Elijah, god knows the latter needs a storyline of his own.
    Cons:
    1- Klaus: I still hate how the family drama only revolves around him , and Esther just dropped another excuse to give him while he acts like a monster, he called Elijah a good console and everyone should be like him... superiority complex much!
    2-Elijah : I kinda hated him for not caring abt Finn, he called him dull and pretentious and deserved to be put up in a box for 900 year....that's just messed up reason to give to your own flesh and blood.
    3- I was expecting more guests around the table, and as much as I loved Finn's monologue, I hated how Klaus and Elijah reacted during that dinner, it was just flat.

    but I sure enjoyed the episode, it's a definite 8/10 from me.

    Loved the episode.
    For me it sort of ruined Finn a bit. I used to like his character but...i felt very bad for him during his tirade and when he asked Elijah why he didn't save him from being daggered. Elijah's answer seemed cruel, uncalled for and angered me. Are we really supposed to believe that Finn whined so much that it was the only reason his siblings were ok with keeping him in the box? I always imagined it was due to his suicidal tendencies, to keep his safe from himself. No matter how annoying he was, stealing 900 years from your own brother is unacceptable.
    The flashbacks were the welcome surprise. The blonde kid that plays Niklaus and the dark-haired one are so likable, make me love the characters even more so.
    On the contrary the kid that played Finn was a miss. I really didn't get his purpose.Was he supposed to be jealous of the attention Esther gave Niklaus? Because Klaus got beaten all the time and it made no sense for Finn to be jealous. All the times he was creepily watching Klaus and Esther from afar were strange and misplaced. Did he steal the necklace or just picked it up from the ground?
    I really liked the actress that played the witch. Too bad we lost her. She is Esther now. I was hoping she would be one hell of an ally to Mikaelsons.
    Really don't see where all the "Elijah likes fixing broken things nonsense" is coming from? The only one he ever wanted to heal and care for is Nik. He doesn't even care about Rebekah or Kol etc
    They are just randomly adding a new characteristic to an already established character. As long as the dark-haired girl doesn't try to betray him for Marcel i am ok with her. I am even open to the romantic possibilities. When i first saw her on stills i instantly disliked her but now i see that the actress is likable and want to see where it all goes.

    My favourite episode of the season so far. I'm liking this season much more than the last, as the plot seems much more focused and character-driven, and I really like the continued exploration of the family dynamic.

    The flashbacks were the only good part in my opinion. The dinner was ok but I was disappointed by how nothing really happened and good grief can Klaus stop crying all the time and take responsibility for his own life and actions? He's a grown man, not an emo teenager. I recall Elijah saying in TVD that his mother may have made them monsters but they were the ones who decided to act the way they did and I really respected Elijah for that and now we've regressed back to "woe is me, everyone is out to get me, you're ruining my life." Yes, Esther made them into monsters but they were the ones that killed all of those people for 1,000 years and they actively chose to do so, so this whole blaming Esther for what they've become is pretty weak and doesn't really make me sympathize with the characters the way I'm sure the writers are intending for me to do so. I really wish we would get more of the originals but how they were presented in TVD, not whatever we're seeing now.

    The whole premise of TO seems to be making them the victims of their circumstance, but I always loved that on TVD the characters took responsibility for their actions. Elijah's line about Esther turning them into vampires but that they turned themselves into monsters was incredibly poignant. That's missing from TO.

    The focus on The Original Family is certainly helping them. If they had started off Season 1 this way, I think their viewership would have grown exponentially instead of tapering off to what it is now.
