Though it centered around Maggie a lot and I'm personally a big Ellen/Meredith fan I actually really liked it! Especially that end! Can't wait for next week's though! it looks AWESOME!! I'm loving the sister rivalry
This show never disappoints, I'm Loving Maggie, once you get to know her she's really brilliant, I wonder what Yang would think of her, and the sibling rivalry between Meredith and Maggie is going to be fun to see unfold!!!! All these years this show is still amazing!!!!
I wasn't sure what to expect from an episode centered Maggie this early but it did a really great job at introducing her to us. He seems like a smart, kind and funny person who brings the thunder when it needs to be brought.
Also, I don't know if this is what they were going for but it was also one of the funnier episodes. Maggie repeatedly saying something/getting Wilson's name wrong, Amelia grinning about Derek being "the other Shepherd" for once, the Sherlock/Watson reference, the dim-witted guy from the gym. There were some great comedic in this episode. I hope we get more of Amelia and Maggie, they really seem to hit it off.
The whole episode about the new "grey" was too much, it's lame plus she's is racist, "white bashing" is racism too, because she didn't like Meredith she marked her as incapable of relating to other races and even less reaching to children and adopting a black baby?
Loved the whole Maggie all about work and seeing how everyone is related and all has personal history with each other and they bring it to work with them. Also loved the singing fish with balloons and loved that Maggie secretly loved it. I have a lot of love for this show and Maggie so far.
Excellent episode. First I thought, I think Megan will not be a good regular character, but she grow on me so fast during the episode that now I like her even more. She make a good duo with Amelia Shepherd, I hope both become good friends. The final scene was a little bit fast for me, I think they could be more careful to reveal the truth.
I love how smart the writers are in that scene with Megan close the case of three kids parents, finish Yang works (with the help of Bailey program of course) and get the trust of Hunt in the process.
I think ppl are being abit harsh on Mer, when she found out she had sisters by her father it wasn't a total surprise, she new it was a possibility. But another sister by her mother? Who she was raised by day to day, surely you would remember mom getting fat? So I think it's unfair to expect a logical response to such an emotional upheaval.
On the Maggie side, I found I quite enjoyed it, I find her more interesting then some other characters and between her and Amelia it's nice to have some fresh faces! (Or maybe it's nice to drown out the ones who bore me lol) I just hope they don't try and lay Maggie on too thick!
That was amazing! great way to know her! and the reaction from Meredith was everything i was expecting! Im glad they close the case with Sabine kids! not even Yang could do it xD
I was initially quite sceptical of this storyline of another Grey sister out there (are there no brothers?!) but I found this episode completely turned me around.
Maggie was really thrusted into the deep end of the show as a new character and the season 10 finale had me shocked at how it seemed like a cheap ploy. Fair play to the writers for sticking to it and delivering a fantastic episode to introduce the audience properly to Maggie, it worked extremely well and I was really rooting for her when everything seemed to be getting to her. The infrequent phone calls to her parents were a nice touch at highlighting her isolation and I was heartbroken when she spoke to them about the present and it was obvious Maggie was struggling.
All wasn't lost however, I'm really looking forward to seeing the fallout of the final scene and I'm glad Maggie's started making a couple of friendships.
I enjoyed this a lot more than the premiere. Maggie was great and I like her 'bringing the thunder' haha. Grey's used to be a lot of fun, so I like it when they keep some fun storylines.
Amerlia showed how awesome she can be this week, so I hope they keep using her well.
I wasn't that crazy about this episode. It had it moments and I'm glad we found out a bit more about Maggie. I was glad she didn't take any shit in this ep,but doled it out when needed!
I still can't stand Jo! What surprised me was after Maggie screwed up and congratulated Alex nothing happened. I thought for sure Alex would have been upset with Jo but nothing. Did they drop the ball on this?
I enjoyed the episode I really like Maggie, is she a regular? I liked her dynamic with Jo this actually might be the first episode I actually liked her, and I'm so on board with this friendship Maggie is developing with Amelia and I hope she finds out soon that Richard is her father, Meredith was horrible in this episode and the way she acted when Maggie told her was so uncalled for but it wasn't out of character, I hope they get along eventually.
That was a fabulous episode. I have found it hard to connect with some of the patient stories over the past few seasons but they did a great job with conveying the entire story behind each patient in a short period of time this episode. The storytelling and patient stories reminded me of the early seasons of Grey's. I was interested in the whole Ellis Grey had another daughter storyline before this episode but not really interested in Maggie. This episode made me LOVE Maggie. I think what I love the most is that the writers aren't trying to give us another "Lexie". This show has the tendency to try to make new characters like old ones that left the show, so i'm glad they didn't go that route with Maggie. Honestly, with a little reworking, this would have been a better premiere. I don't understand where ppl felt Maggie was making any racist implications. I think she was looking at it like the some is better than it's parts (just b/c Meredith is being crappy to her doesn't mean she's a crappy person). I love how Maggie is starting to build with Amelia even though I'm still slightly confused as to why they need Caterina Scoresone (forgive me if I butchered her name) as a regular but I'm sure there's more to come. And am I the only Private Practice fan wondering where James is???? I need answers like yesterday. Anyway this was a great episode and I predict Meredith will out Richard as Maggie's biological father before he gets the chance to tell her.
Am I the only one there who totally hates Maggie and isn't interested at all in her story and drama? Are the writers going to give her this Cristina vibe? Because they are trying to do that already. Mer's reaction was predictable (or did you expect her to welcome her with open arms and yay, I have another sister?). And Maggie was a real bitch to Jo (not that I like the lattest very much, but this was just rude!). But it was nice to see some closure for McNeils.
Mer is in ddenial and at 5 who really pays attention unless mommy would have told her. Let's not forget that the chief was not even made aware of the pregnancy. Mom could have gone away for a while or found a great way to hide it
Seriously, it's getting harder and harder for me to find Amelias story believable. First, we get no word on why exactly she left LA and now she says that Meredith is the only "sister" she's ever been able to relate to. What about Addison, for God's sake?! Shonda, please fix this!
Amelia told Mer that she couldn't be herself in LA. They would watch her every move to see if she messed up again and she liked that Mer and Derek needed her.
I remember that but is that all they're going to give us? Amelia had a great storyline on PP it would be a shame for them to bring it up and not give any real answers
I could see it happen. Meredith spent so much time afraid she was going to get it earlier, like her mother, and, potentially, Maggie having it and Meredith not would be hard and ironic, you know?Like, she almost envy Maggie for having cool, fun and loving parents while she got the crappy mother and all... And then Maggie being the one with the early alzheimer.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
That was a amazing epsiode
ReplyDeleteOkay, I am officially starting to hate Meredith. I loved that most of the episode was about Maggie, I love here character already.
ReplyDeleteIt was so great to see Sabine again!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how the relationship bt Meredith and Maggie changes.
ReplyDeleteThough it centered around Maggie a lot and I'm personally a big Ellen/Meredith fan I actually really liked it! Especially that end! Can't wait for next week's though! it looks AWESOME!! I'm loving the sister rivalry

I didn't like it, it's only the second episode of the season, so it felt like it's too early to already have a Meggie-centric episode
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure what to expect from an episode centered Maggie this early but it did a really great job at introducing her to us. He seems like a smart, kind and funny person who brings the thunder when it needs to be brought.

Totally agree

very different format, but a great was to introduce a new character
ReplyDeleteI only realized that April wasn't in the episode when Sarah Drew tweeted it out, lol.
ReplyDeleteshe was, only for one scene though, when she introduces Amelia and Maggie to the girl who had a stroke after sex.

A+
I was wondering if the forgetting of wilson's name did not have anyting to do with alshaimers

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't read too much into it. It could be a potential storyline if she sticks around for a while but at this point, it's too early.

ReplyDeleteI think you missed the scene where Alex was yelling at Jo.
ReplyDeleteAmelia broke up with James when she decided to stay in Seattle. It was last season.
ReplyDeleteAmelia told Mer that she couldn't be herself in LA. They would watch her every move to see if she messed up again and she liked that Mer and Derek needed her.
