great ep... interesting cotw and nice to see that Bullock was a little like Gordon 10 years ago before the city/corruption jaded his outlook on things...nice to see Nygma get a little more involved with things (liked his "?" coffee cup), and the MCU case agains Gordon didn't play out like I was expecting: I thought that in order to prove his innocence, that Jim would give up/produce Penguin, exposing his existence to Fish - thereby leading Penguin to feel that his one trusted friend had betrayed him, but him walking into GCPD himself was an interesting play and one that I wonder where it will go from here...
A near perfect episode (no Fish Mooney, but a Selina Kyle sighting)! Seeing Harvey Bullock 10 yrs. earlier and hearing Dix call him a "White Knight" was great character backstory. The Penguin is clearly playing chess, while everyone else in Gotham is playing checkers (surprise ending/no spoilers). Finally we got some Edward Nygma and the actor did not disappoint at all.........great job, Cory Michael Smith! The first 5 episodes gave us our first glimpse of Gotham's "theme villains", while this episode gave us a future glimpse of Arkham Asylum's "head cases"............was I the only one thinking of Harley and Ivy by the end of this episode (again, no spoilers)? 4 A KILLER JOKE, I am the Nobody!!! QUOTE OF THE EPISODE: Harvey Bullock QUOTE: "I believe in the tranquilizers you clobbered Mrs. Hastings with and if you're giving out samples!" (LOL.....Bullock is just to funny.....Ben McKenzie look like he almost laughed in that scene.)
i'm so glad gordon got vindicated with barbara but what kind of game is cobbelpot playing here, i wonder what selina took from bruce, gordon is looking more and more like a future superhero instead of a cop honestly but maybe it's just me
That was the first episode I thought was ood! It didn't annoy me like some of the previous eps and at last they rounded out Bullock's character, getting to see who he was makes him less of a caricature now. I hope the show can build on this and maybe its potential can be fulfilled.
Oswald continues to be by far the best thing about the show though, I relish every scene he is in.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This had Ben Edlund written all over it - the quirky humour with the Ed Nygma scenes, exceptional character moments. Best episode of the season.
ReplyDeleteEdward Nygma shined in this episode, Cory Micheal Smith is a scene stealer.
ReplyDeleteThe bath scene with Oswald and Mama Cobblepot was slightly strange. The ending was prtty awesome :)
