this show is taking all the knowledge of Arrow and running with it. So well done…with remnants of Superman/Lois Lane thrown in for good luck. And OMG at the ending..wth?? Can't wait to find out.
This was so much fun! I loved everything about it. The Flash references, the jokes, Caitlan and Cisco. That line he said about Chips and Guac and it being a whole other level of equations had me cracking up!! 815 tacos. Lmao. Omg! Him looking like a hamster on that treadmill was priceless. And when he was fighting, I was shouting, IT'S OK BARRY! You don't have the combat training yet, but you will!! Loved the scene with him and Iris as she was pouring her sugar. Haha that was fun. The dialog in that scene was cheesy, but I'll take it! Barry at his job working his magic and them using special effects to show us what he sees was awesome.
I felt so bad for Joe when Barry was telling him he wasn't his father and he couldn't stop him. Joe looked like he wanted to cry. I was all, dayummm Barry! I mean he felt bad about it, but still. And I'm so glad he fixed it! And Joe cried for me, (during the apology scene) so I didn't have to. Lol
I really enjoyed the flashbacks too. Grant Gustin is doing a great job as Barry Allen. And I have NO CLUE what to think about this Doctor whose name I keep forgetting, someone help me out?? This is going to be epic. And as a fan whose loved The Flash since birth, I can say, Idt I'll ever disappointed with this series. Right now there's no way I could be. There's SO much they can do with this series. I mean wow! Just thinking about it. I'M PUMPED! Lmao, anyways great episode, loads of fun, great cast, can't wait for more. Cheers all around. Oh and last thing....anyone else love that thunder strike every time the show goes on commercial? Lol I think that's so cool. Very nice! And I want that STAR LABS SWEATSHIRT!
Ok time for Supernatural, oh god, "Demon Dean" better not disappointment me again. To go from a fantactic episode to a lame ass episode...it just sucks, and I had a good day today, I'd like to keep that going...Shannon out!!!
Although my stream was very bad, I've enjoyed it a lot, I'll rewatch it tomorrow with proper HD video. But this is seriously CW's best series atm. (and Arrow and Jane the Virgin are behind it as other good CW series.)
I like that Barry is still adjusting to his new powers and isn't this perfect superhero that doesn't have any problems right from the bat. Also, I wish I could eat 850 tacos in one sitting. That would be heaven.
Joe acting as a father figure and protecting Barry at all costs is so damn sweet (even though Barry didn't want him to at first and then yelled at him which was really harsh). But awww, at the end where Barry finally acknowledges him as a father. Can't wait to see Joe and Barry working together to find Nora's killer.
Barry running through all of Danton's replicates and knocking them out was so damn cool. Phenomenal SFX and loved seeing him dodge bullets Matrix style.
Cisco and Caitlin continue to be great supporting characters and I love their scenes with Barry.
That final scene was very interesting. So it's almost confirmed that Harrison is from the future but is he good or evil? Does he want to keep Barry safe from anyone that wants to harm him or does he want to keep him for himself?
It was awesome I was sad for Joe when Barry told him wasn't his father but I like that he apologize said that you were what the hell at the end still don't know if Wells a good guy or bad guy hope this show stays fun and light I mean I don't mind it being dark just keep it lighthearted
- I enjoyed the Star Lab rats banter a bit more this time although I still think the actors portraying Cisco and Caitlin overact. - Really liking Jessie L Williams as the emotional center of the show! - Surprise! Your crush Iris is investigating you. Okay, not much of a shock after all. XD - Multiplex was fun and the VFX were pretty good as well! - I really liked Wells going dark to protect Barry/ The Flash/ the future he needs.
That said, it did feel a lot like the pilot to me.. - Barry encounters growing pains as The Flash - Star Labs rats figure out a solution - intro villain - Flash meets villain and loses the fight - Failed encounter leading to self doubt - Barry gets confidence from father figure - Flash overcomes villain. Only two episodes in so I cannot hold it against the show, but if we keep seeing Barry overwhelmed with doubt I fear it could take on a melodramatic Smallville feeling. Ugh!
Some people needs to loosen up, this is from a comic book and the cw dont expect award worthy drama, im getting what I was expecting. I like it exactly as it is some character development will happen as the series progresses. Other thant that 2nd episode was entertaining enough to keep me coming back next week.
Barry and Joe's father/son relationship is by far my most favorite dynamic on the show. I also love where they're heading with Team Flash! I can't wait to find out more about Cisco and Caitlin as well.
I'm having trouble making out Harrison. Is he a good guy, an anti-hero, a villain? I so can't wait to find out!
pretty good ep that gave us some good background story... I'm still warming up to it, not as fast as I liked Arrow, but things seem promising for this show..
I think Wells is the time-traveling Professor Zoom.
Multiplex in the comics was an antagonist of Firestorm (who's father marries Felicity) so I wonder if that will lead to some sort of crossover where Felicity means Ed Raymond - her future husband.
Another fun episode. I guessed why Barry was fainting, and now he has to eat that condensed energy bar. Tho if I was him I would take this a chance to eat all I can eat really, one day 50 plates of pasta, another day pizza, then thai, shit the joy of eating....
Caitlin Snow is cool, I like her character and the actress so she makes the show even better for me. Wells is going all out it seems to protect the Flash, he knows more so he must have his reasons, personally I didn't care that he killed Stagg, I rather not have another scientist type coming after Barry all Season long.
awesome episode, wells definitely has to be barry but i find hard to believe that he would kill to protect his secret maybe he changes after his years as the flash, i've missed a speedster dodging bullets so much, loved barry calling west his dad, still loving caitlin and barry and cisco is hilarious, this is going to be a great show
This show is so great. Lots of fun. It feels like you are in a comic book. Star lab crew was great in the pilot but in this episode they stepped it up. I love all the father figures in Barry's life. Detective Joe West (Jesse L.Martin) killed it this episode. Iris investigating Barry is so comic book tropey thing. Yet given their history and current friendship its lot of fun. How cool was that scene where Iris is putting sugar in her coffee and Barry running around her telling stuff. Loved it. I thought I would dislike Eddie Thawne from the pilot but he was so likable in this episode. He genuinely cares about Iris and is not a douche bag. Multiplex was great. Seriously good vfx this episode. They kept the standard. Harrison Wells became a lot more interesting this episode. I predicted him to be Barry's grandson from future but if he is the Flash then he wouldn't simply kill some one.
- Jesse.L. Martin KILLED it this episode as emotional anchor. Anyone who's a son, or a father or even HAS a father should be getting a little misty eyed. Barry's relations with his father figures will definatly be an important aspect of the show
- Iris investigating "the Red Streak" is of course wonderfully comic book tropey. - Tom Cavanaugh's Harrison Wells is mysterious and creepy and a good way to leave a "hook" at the end of the episode. - Cisco and Caitlin aren't firing 100% quite yet but they're okay. Hopefully Caitlin/Danielle gets some thing more substatial to work with in scenes with Ronnie Raymond/Robbie Amell. Cisco should get some development beyond "namedropping sidekick" with the whole cold gun debace in ep 4. - Just like in the comics Flash's power is somewhat limited to the speed of sound at first, until he gains experience with tapping into the Speed Force. Also liking that they're keeping the "science" somewhat sound despite being a comic book show with the speed burning a tremendous amount of calories.
Well, I'm already loving this show. It managed to both make me LOL hard and shed some tears in the same episode. I love the relationship between Joe and Barry, I like how Barry doesn't take himself too seriously. The villain wasn't developed enough (something the Arrow writers are still having issues with also in Arrow..) but it looks like they are setting Wells to be the big bad of this season and I actually like that.
I have not read the comics, but I get the same vibe about Wells. He feels like someone from the future who needs Barry to become the full on hero The Flash for one reason or another... I don't have a clue about his motivation though.
This was a good episode. Right now I'm mostly invested in the Wells story, I'm really curious as to who he is, where/when he's from, and what his ultimate goal is.
I love the Flash team, Wells, Cisco and Cailyn they're highly entertaining and work well together and play off each other well. Cisco is still my favorite it would probably be Wells but I can't love the character when he does dark things and it's wrapped in a mystery (not sure if that makes sense). I just spend all my time with Wells wondering, is his interaction with X genuine or playing a part? Is he evil or is this a road to hell story?
I love Joe and the Joe/Barry relationship. I was really upset with Barry when he said Joe wasn't his dad (I get it) but it really hurt Joe and I was not OK with that.
Finally we get to Iris and Eddie and unfortunately I still don't care about either character, I don't care about their relationship or their relationship with others. Hopefully I'll warm up to Iris eventually, maybe this reporter Iris storyline will make her most interesting but right now, she hasn't clicked for me.
But does Wells want Barry to be a hero? I doubt. I just think he is keeping Barry happy so that Barry will remain in contact with Star Labs. Remember he did not want Barry to run around and save people in last episode. He wanted to do experiments on Barry to study regenerative properties of his body. Harrison Wells is a conundrum. On one hand it looks like he has Barry's best interests at heart and inspire him and on the other he is shady as hell. One thing I am almost sure is he is someone from future or someone who visited the future. The latter could be possible as Harrison Wells have a solid past in this show where he had colleagues and friends.
"This is the part where I'm supposed to do the whole intro thingy: Barry Allen, fastest man alive, but you know all that already" hahahahahahaha (wink wink Arrow people lol)
I LOVED IT. It had a lot of funny moments but it also had heart in it and the VFX are REALLY good. My favourite relationship on this show is Barry and Joe, he IS his father, "your ability to multitask is truly remarkable the way you can embarrass me and yourself and the captain at the same time" lol when Barry told him you're not my father I thought "ouch! that was cold, Barry" but that last scene was so sweet it brought tears to my eyes.
They are building Wells to be the big bad but ever since I saw him checking the future newspaper I knew that he was checking to see if the future has changed and that Barry is safe, I know he killed a man but I'm still not sure he is trying to keep Barry safe for villain reasons I think he actually cares about him.
I loved the The Flash team dynamic, the first scene was so funny "HEEEEEEEEY Caitlin, how was your day? " lol he and Cisco were afraid of her lol and rightfully so she IS scary but that last scene when she told him to stop the robbery was cute. I don't ship
So true... Assuming he is from the future his goal may be to keep Barry alive so he can accomplish some task important to Wells. Saving a loved one, giving birth to an ancestor etc...
So he may have ulterior motives not related to actually caring for Barry. Maybe he did not want him to get into hero-mode last week because he thought it was too risky at that point?
I think the name itself is a nod to Wells being from the future (or alternate time) being that it is so close to HG Wells, author of The Time Machine.
Regardless, Harrison Wells is the most intriguing role on the show!
Now look what you did. You mentioned H.G. Wells. Now I have an itch to binge watch warehouse 13 again :). Everyone is talking about Harrison Wells as that is the only over arching story line on the show. I hope the meta human of the week format changes a bit after mid season finale like Arrow.
It was amazing although Harrison wells keeps surprising me I love team flash though Caitlin has loosened up a little and Cisco is a riot. I loved Barry he's a fun superhero even with his history it doesn't make the show dull its fun and interesting
I loved that they made fun of the intro bit when it comes in arrow I actually recite it with him automatically like the national anthem or something lol! I don't ship Barry and iris they don't interest me but their friendship is supersweet
It wasn't perfect (growing pains) but it was fun. Liked character work...the look into Barry's childhood and his relationship with Det. West and the West learning that he can protect Barry better by letting go rather than holding him tight. Unfortunately, if Iris stays in the place she is currently she's going to get old fast. Not really sure what's to be gained overall by ripping a close foundation relationship from Barry. The show ended with a good news/bad news moment. At least we know Wells is trying to *protect* Barry? lol
Professor Zoom aka Reverse Flash wants to kill Barry, that's why he went back in time to kill him but failed to succeed. If Dr. Wells was Reverse Flash why the hell would he protect the one person that can defeat him. Wells clearly is scared that the events that took place in April 20, 2024 might happen and he is doing everything to make sure it doesn't happen.
Let's not forget Wells has an Article from 4/20/2024 stating The Flash disappears and Wells is probably making sure he still alives so those events don't happen and i have a feeling future Dr. Wells contacted his past self telling him to do everything to keep Barry Allen alive.
Btw loved how it said Waynes Inc and Queens Consolidated Merger successful lol
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This show is all kind of awesome !! EPIC.
ReplyDeleteI just wish that is a Netflix show so i can have all the episodes at once lol... the waiting sucks.
this show is taking all the knowledge of Arrow and running with it. So well done…with remnants of Superman/Lois Lane thrown in for good luck. And OMG at the ending..wth?? Can't wait to find out.

ReplyDeleteA fantastic follow up to the pilot!
ReplyDeleteI like that Barry is still adjusting to his new powers and isn't this perfect superhero that doesn't have any problems right from the bat. Also, I wish I could eat 850 tacos in one sitting. That would be heaven.

ReplyDelete2 for 2, this is so EPIC!!! Grant Gustin is so amazing as Barry!!! I almost teared up towards the end when Barry called Joe a dad!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the third episode!!
Another very strong episode overall I think.
ReplyDelete- I enjoyed the Star Lab rats banter a bit more this time although I still think the actors portraying Cisco and Caitlin overact.

Great episode, even better than pilot... Reminds me of Smallville in the beginning... Hope it doesn't get strange and confusing like Smallville did
ReplyDeleteTom Cavanaugh really pulls off the creepy vibe.
ReplyDeleteWas fantastic. So far pretty much everything thing is working for me. Except that CGI fire.
ReplyDeleteSome people needs to loosen up, this is from a comic book and the cw dont expect award worthy drama, im getting what I was expecting. I loved it! I thought it was great. I like Barry and Joe's relationship.
ReplyDeleteI loved Gone Girl. That's like the best movie this year..
ReplyDeletepretty good ep that gave us some good background story... I'm still warming up to it, not as fast as I liked Arrow, but things seem promising for this show..
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell is wrong with Wells... I just can't make my mind about what he might want... It's a cool character. My favourite so far.
ReplyDeleteI like Barry and Joe's dynamic. Iris i guess is ok. Don't feel to atached with Cisco and Caitlin. I want to see her react to Ronnie Raymond's return.
I'll keep watching. The action is really good for theCW and the CGI is remarkable for a show of this budget.
I think Wells is the time-traveling Professor Zoom.

ReplyDeleteI had to hit IMDB cause I couldn't remember either. It's Wells. Harrison Wells.
ReplyDeleteHahaah thank you! Idk why i keep forgetting his name, i like him and everything. Watch by next week i'll have it. lol
ReplyDeleteDr. Wells is clearly making sure Barry remains alive. Which tells me he's hiding something or keeping someone's promise.
