    Weakest of the season for me, didn't hold my attention much, bit of a shame considering how good the season has been but the finale looks epic so I can't wait for that.

    I really loved it, great episode and great way to show that nature is there to protect us ! Also, I love those worldwide phone calls :D

    Didn't expect to see Missy but I guess she was behind everything... Next week's episode looks epic and really intriguing !

    OMG, THAT TRAILER!! That was far more interesting that the whole episode imo!! lol.


    Voted poor I'm afraid, all of my reasons were pretty clear in my preview I'm sure. The direction and acting were good but the story was weak, twee and far too easily resolved, meh.

    I thought this was a pretty good stand alone episode with a couple of exceptions to be addressed later. In The Forest of the Night had what I thought Time Heist and Mummy on the Orient Express were missing which were plot details threaded throughout the episode that come together and made sense at the end of the story. In TH and MotOE, The Doctor seemed to deduce and resolve the problem in the last five minutes out of nowhere.

    The soundtrack, editing, and sets were all really good in this episode. The children were enjoyable because they were rambunctious without being obnoxious. I loved the interaction between the Doctor and Maebh. It was also enlightening to see Danny tell Clara that there is wonder and beauty encountered in everyday life, which implies Clara is missing the magic in the ordinary as she spends more time traveling with the Doctor. Danny's point was punctuated when the children were more interested in being reunited with their parents instead of going in the Tardis to see the solar flare. It was great to see the Doctor once again connected to humans as he was willing to put his life at risk to save Earth. It was so clever for Clara to trick the Doctor back into the Tardis and convince him to stay there to save himself along with all the other planets and beings he has yet to encounter. As far as Clara is concerned, I'm not sure if she is addicted to her travels with the Doctor or if her judgement and actions are somehow being clouded. I just get the feeling Missy is the puppet master pulling Clara's strings. We shall see.

    Now for the reasons why I thought this episode was good instead of great or awesome. It wasn't really explained how Maebh was connected to the sentient beings controlling the forest or how she was able to hear Clara's thoughts which lead the girl to the Doctor. Also, how did Anna Beth's disappearance play into the plot. Was Anna Beth the first human the "forrest" took action to save by concealing her or did the "forrest" find Anna Beth and return her home? Was the "forrest" able to communicate with Maebh because it accessed a connection or link between the two sisters? If these details were addressed, then this episode would've been awesome.

    Apart from Maebh strange connection with the-ones-who-were-here-before-and-who-will-be-there-after, it was a pretty solid episode. Who am I kidding, I loved it. Don't ask why, probably the farytales references (ok, red riding hood was maybe a bit forced). I was afraid of having the children around for the whole episode, but they were not obnoxious. And way more space for the Doctor than on previous episodes. And I enjoyed it this way. I want more of the Doctor, not more of Clara Boring Oswald :)

    I thought it was a good episode even though it still was the weakest so far. For me it was a typical standalone episode of Doctor Who and even had some good moments between the Doctor and Clara. I can't say i agree with all the negative comments this episode has received.

    Going to have to be an "OK" for me - good Doctor/Clara and Danny/Clara stuff, the kids were fairly inoffensive, and it looked very nice, but the story was both boring and confusing, which is never good. Compared to the rest of the absolutely fantastic season we've had, this feels like they ran out of ideas or time at the last minute, or possibly forgot an episode when they started planning out the season, and someone said "Let's do something about the environment or whatever" and someone else said "Let's do fairytales," and maybe somebody else really wanted to give that Christmas special with the trees another go, and here we are with ... this. It didn't make any sense - how did the trees communicate? What were the fairy things? How did the little girl communicate with them? How did the sister come back, and where did she go in the first place? Did the fairy things help the trees grow, or was that a decision made on their own, and if so, can trees always do that? And where did they go after? Why were they willing to die for us, anyway? And the person who wrote this knows this is a sci-fi show, not a fantasy show, right? If you're going to involve fantasy elements, you've got to give at least a passing scientific explanation somewhere.


    That being said, it's still not one of the worst Doctor Who episodes, and this season has been so great and the finale looks so good that I can't find it in myself to fuss too much about one misstep. I mean, come on. The trees were really pretty.

    Trees I love trees. and I loved this episode. It was a fun episode for me. I liked the way Maebh talked and thought. And the Tree Event was an interesting on Earth story. I liked how The Doctor talked about how the people will just forget about it and create legends out of it, which is sort of true.
    Oh and damn, the Trees gave a nice gift "Annabel" to Maebh at the end. Whether she was a run away, or dead, she came back, good for them. I don't need explanation in sci fi, especially in Doctor Who.

    Now time for the Final 2 episodes, oh the twist and turns we will face. I'm a bit worried.
