I thought it was an awesome episode, however I'm very disappointed they're were no answers to the mystery of where Castle, had been, for him to ask to not remember, what the hell did he do? I'm loving everybody's standing by Castle, I'm still waiting on a wedding!!!!
Castle is doing better on the 10 pm slot for me cause I watch it live and leave Ncis Los Angela's and the blacklist for late but I might change that if they don't take a break on the what happened to castle storyline
To be honest, I don't get what the fuss is about the Castle storyline. And I respect everyone's opinions, but I'm pretty sure many people were sick of dragging Beckett's mother's case for 6 years. When one story wraps up, isn't it reasonable to start a new one? I mean this show is called Castle...To be frank, based six seasons this show might as well been called Beckett since she was the center of attention. I feel that it's Castle's turn now. I like this storyline. Not only does it deepen Castle and his character but his relationship with everyone else, especially Beckett. Though I am a bit hesitant that they didn't provide much answers in this episode, this will all eventually makes sense. Give it some time.
It seemed to me like that was another benefit of the four-week waiting period, although I could be wrong, I need to re-watch it and ignore twitter this time around.
Just because the show is called Castle does not mean he should be front and centre every single ep a good tv show fleshes out all the supporting cast luckily Castle is a good tv show and it wouldn't be the same without Beckett and the others period!
Well you know people complain for the sake of complaining... I agree with you. It has been all about Beckett for a long time and I'm glad they're doing something with Castle's character now.
I really loved this this episode. It had some funny bits and I still like the story line with Castle. It makes me want the next episode even more. And I like that Alexis and BeckettThis show is just getting better with very new episode. And I some so looking forward to next week's episode and the rest of the season.
What event could be so traumatic that Castle choses memory loss over the truth? The Castle character we all know and love is all about finding the truth. The only thing that I can see it being, is the death of his Father. Maybe even by his hands. Was it an accident? Was there a choice to be made that resulted in his Dad's death and he couldn't live with the guilt? I believe this could be the only event that would cause Castle chose memory loss and to live a lie. After all remember how tenacious he can be when he wants the truth. His not honoring Beckets wishes about her Mom's own death is a prime example.
what the hell is going on with you people, there is nothing can satisfy you, you are really hard to please. if the show is centered on beckett "oh no the show is called castle" if the show is centered on Castle "can you stop with his past" if the show if too light "oh no we need more drama" if the show has drama "oh no we need more comedy". Take the right pill this time and go to sleep.
Just to clarify: I don't remember that anybody in the past seasons wanted for more drama. Deeper characterisation yes, but only fools make it equal to more drama. Also nobody complained because of the show being light - the complaints were when it went for idiocy, or funless "fun". And now when it is centered on Castle the complaints and criticism are also not about the fact, but the way how they did it. Quality, not quantity.
I'm a little confused on 1 point in the epi when Castle went to Canada the 2nd time and was confronted with mystery man who told him too stop investigating, he told Castle that Castle had asked him ( Mystery man ) to make him forget an event from his past, he ( MM) then tells Castle a portion of event. So now Castle remembers said event so a waste of time erasing his memory and why kidnap him for 2 months and scare the crap out of his family why not go to a hypnotherpist ?
Misunderstood. Castle told him an event from his past which only he knew, nobody else. That served as a proof that what the guy said (that he himself wanted to erase his memory) is the truth.
I'm not talking about something that happened when he was eleven. He was grazed by a bullet. I am referring to recently, what if He somehow became involved with his Dad again and something traumatic happened.
I never said that I was sick of Beckett. She is my favorite character on the show. I have never liked a character more than hers. I just think that for a show named Castle, there isn't enough of Castle. He deserves a story.
I am not really digging the conspiracy tbh; sure, the character moments are great, but the plotting feels too flimsy. So was the camping tent all there was to cover Castle's tracks? Did the guy passing himself as the owner of the dingy honestly thought that they wouldn't come back to him? It was a pretty shoddy plant for someone who could hack DMV records. The flash cards in the safe opened just too many questions, it was really contingent of Castle's death that they worked. And when he was rescued, it did not looked like he was in any real bad shape.
It just feels really sloppy as a mystery, with no real hint of what can it even be.
I have no issues with Castle taking the spotlight actually (I really loved the revelation that his father was a spy and was looking forward how that could play on a major arc) but this disappearance plot feels just way to shoddy on excecution, to the point it vagueness makes me think it is not actually fully plotted.
A lot of the steps to cover Castle's disappearance are just not well thought for this to work. I really hope they iron this out during the season, but so far is not good writing on that front.
A good example of a "I dissappeared for and returned time later with amnesia" plot was Alias.
That be funny if Castle was riding an elevator and suddenly Coulson steps in and they talk where Coulson says he was dead but came back to life and Castle would say i was missing for 2 mons and don't why.
Dan, man I thought the same when I watched this episode, I don't like the premiere, but this episode was better and I think you're right, they now will focus on Castle.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Two episodes in and I'm already sick of the conspiracy, tbh. Please put it on the backburner for a few episodes. But it was a great episode otherwise!

ReplyDeleteI'm sticking to my previous prediction of 7.06 for the wedding.
ReplyDeleteAmnesia? Really? 'Castle' used to have better writers. What a cheap plot ploy. Please, give us some real mystery. Not a writer's cop-out solution.

Awesome episode. But this is the stupidest conspiracy ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked it a lot, and I´m even more intrigued now about what happenned, wich for me is a good thing!

ReplyDeleteSERIOUSLY? are you sure? do you read Castle articles where people leave their comments? SERIOUSLY?
ReplyDeleteWe've met his father, and the "incident" occurred when Castle was 11. Nope - something else happened.
ReplyDeleteI hope so, that's really not that far away, if it's for the sweeps, that's even better, I'm still excited!!!!
ReplyDeleteMisunderstood. Castle told him an event from his past which only he knew, nobody else. That served as a proof that what the guy said (that he himself wanted to erase his memory) is the truth.
ReplyDeleteSeriously.
ReplyDeleteok thanks for clearing that up for me
