Thank God we didn't have to witness Booth and Brennan telling their three year old that Uncle Sweets is dead. Pretty sure that would have emotionally destroyed me.
Whoa at the fight scene. That got pretty intense, and the ending scene was perfect and emotional. Glad he got the "Lime in the Coconut" send-off.
Yes. I think. But it was so convoluted that I could never explain it. There's a big Sweets-shaped hole in the show now. Sigh. But kudos to Carla Gallo, who crushed my heart with the scene of her "reading" Sweets' bones with Brennan. And Emily Deschanel's speech at the end was beautiful. Those were the high points. Would have liked them to give David Boreanaz more emotional material re:Sweets, but liked the song. Good luck, JFD. Hope you're back in front of the camera soon. (To make myself feel better, I might just go binge watch a little Bones, a little Freaks and Geeks... Maybe even some Kitchen Confidential! Woo!)
thank god they finally stopped the conspiracy, and god i literally couldn't stop crying especially the scene with daisy and brennan, i was really scared they were going to show booth and brennan telling christine about sweets, sweets in the end helped destroy the conspiracy, and i hate stephen nathan a lot more for making aubrey a series regular in sweets' spot how dare he i will never accept him, what the hell's wrong with aubrey praising the bad guys ARGH
I agree with pretty much everything you said. I think this entire conspiracy was convoluted. In the end, I think it was a pretty weak storyline that left serious, permanent damage. I honestly believe the better route to work around JFD's schedule was to temporarily write Sweets off the show until he could return. Even if it meant the viewers only got to see Lance one more time before the Bones series finale. Zach was written off the show, but at least viewers can hope that he will return just one more time before Bones ends.
I cried. I cheered. I smiled. I laughed. I cried some more and i sang. That sums it up. I'm so glad it's over, and I'm going to miss Sweets so much. Overall, amazing episode.
It was a good send off for Sweets. I don't like the new guy. I'm just glad Booth didn't go off the rails trying get justice. Now let's see what the next be bad evil will be coming after the team.
I wonder if Daisy will use Seeley in the end. I'm assuming they'll have the birth be part of the show, and I'll definitely tune in for that. It'll feel like a true wrap up of Sweets story. Hopefully they'll promote the date for it!
I actually like Aubrey. He's a little odd, which is amusing to me. I don't see him as taking Sweets spot. I see it as JFD has the wonderful opportunity to further his career and has taken it, leaving an opening in Bones. Sweets has been on the show for a long time, I would hate to see JFD pigeon hole his career so young and miss his chance to become bigger than just being Sweets on a Fox TV show. I wish him well, will miss him, and look for his next projects and in the meantime I will enjoy Bones, Aubrey and all.
Maybe therein lies the problem then: It didn't hold my attention enough for me to try and understand it. I just found myself glazing over and doing other things during the conspiracy exposition scenes. Reminded me of my X-Files days with the mythology eating the show eventually. For me, the conspiracy was like that on Bones. I just didn't care anymore. Great if others thought it was gripping. It just didn't work for me, Sweets' death aside. To each his own as always!
Eh, I'm ok with it. I don't know how she doesn't do it now, considering it was presented as his wish, vs. being presented as something they argued about. Maybe she'll put her name in there to break up the S thing! Seeley Wick-Sweets. Hope they announce the episode when the baby is born, as I'd expect that to be a nice final callback so I'd like to see it!
Ya know, what really made me tear up (and I'm not a huge Sweets fan!) was his place in the opening credits now being filled by Aubrey. It made me sad for the whole episode. Funny, that....

have to wait a few hours but is the conspiracy destroyed?

the conspiracy has been destroyed right? I hate waiting two hours

ReplyDeleteSo sad but wonderful tribute to Sweets.
ReplyDeleteI think the person who votes awful never likes anything great!!!!!

ReplyDeleteThe conspiracy is easy to understand as long as you pay attention.

ReplyDeleteI truly hope not. It's a lovely gesture if Daisy honors Lance's wish to name the little guy after Booth, but the name Seeley Sweets just doesn't work.

ReplyDeleteLOL, I never thought about the two names together!! good point, although I do like the name Seeley.
