  2. WOOOO!!!! THAT ENDING GAVE ME CHILLS!!!! OMG!!! I need a minute. I gotta get my thoughts together!! HA!!! Holy crap!!!

  3. Awesome. My favourite episode. This week has been great for Arrow and Flash.

Nyssa is probably my favourite female on the show so I immediately enjoyed the episode a lot. Loved Oliver's interactions with Merlyn and his dynamic with Nyssa. I don't like Thea but I understand that it's done purpose. Cap Lance's voicemail to Sara at the end was very sad, but that final scene has me super excited for the new episode.

  4. Geez War is coming, Amazing episode, that ending !!!!!

Great!!! I love Nyssa (Katrina Law)!! :D
I love that Felicity is back!! ♥

  6. Best episode so far I love Thea but I'm not liking her trusting her father so easily and that ending gave me chills

  7. I really don't get why Oliver wouldn't at least try to imprison or hurt Malcolm severely. I really really really can't wrap my head around it.
With that said I'm happy he didn't because I can't wait for all the drama.
Nyssa is such a badass, now that Sara's gone, can we keep her forever? Pretty please?
I don't like when Laurel questions Oliver's decisions on killing people, 'cause I don't think she has enough insight on his post-island struggles to critize him on those grounds, but the speach she gave him about Merlyn being dangerous and a killer was great. She's a lot better when she's not being judgemental.
I have no idea who killed Sara at this point and I don't mind, but I hope all the mystery and crossed accusations pay off.
I've loved Felicity on Flash but I'm glad she's back and I can't wait for her origin next week!

  8. Am I the only one who didn't found Ra's Al Guhl THAT menacing? And I mean the actor, I expected a stronger voice and, I don't know, I'm not convinced, yet.

    ReplyDelete
  9. same BUT I'm willing to wait for more

  10. Hey there 'The Calm' and 'Corto Maltese' (and every other sub-par episode of Arrow): THIS IS HOW TO DO AN EPISODE.

That was awesome. Even Laurel was tolerable - and that has to be a sign of a good episode. Loved Nyssa's return. And Malcolm's. It was pretty obvious Malcolm didn't kill Sara but the episode made the hunt entertaining nonetheless.

Roy was pathetically hilarious. The spin off the car in front of Thea only to get immediately knocked unconscious by Nyssa's dart... don't ever change Roy.

Flashbacks were awesome too. Knew that Waller was behind Fyres, but woah that she only wanted China White dead. Which, of course, means that she'll be in flashbacks very soon.

This episode put the season back on track where it had tailed off slightly in 3.01 and 3.03.

  11. BEST EPISODE! THEA ROCKS!!

  12. I found it contrived how Oliver is now protecting Malcolm

    ReplyDelete
  13. That Flash episode was great wasn't it? Man i loved it last night. But i'm sooooo glad she's back on Arrow as well.

    ReplyDelete
  14. your comment is my favorite. lol

    ReplyDelete
  15. I was expecting Rha's voice to be deeper and more menacing and was it just me or was his hand shaking when he was putting on the rings???? But looks wise he has that haggered look that is fitting of someone like him. Loved Nyssa....she is very effortlessly cool whenever she turns up!!!

As much a fan of Olicity as I am I did wonder last night watching the Flash if her character would be better suited for that show. And when Dr Wells said to her that he foresaw great things from her was that the writers maybe testing the water to see if she could be someone that he would recruit? She is obviously a fan and what's another adorable geek to add to the pool that could all talk the same lingo or would that be too many nerds on one show. I don't think they will now but down the road is it an option

And my favorite evil Dad is finally back in Starling City!!! He's just so damn good in the part and he makes SA lift his game in the scenes that they have together imo. Love him and I am glad that Oliver has a policy of not killing anyone so that we never completely lose him from the show!!!

And next week we finally get to learn more about everyone's favorite IT girl. Hopefully there's more in the extended promo and where are the promo photos????

  16. Mac is that you? You change your name?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Fixed! Thanks! I actually copied the name from someone who wrote it before me, I had no idea how to spell it! :D

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree with you regarding Felicity. I actually didn't notice she was gone from the episode until I heard her asking what was going on. Not sure if there was a coincidence between her being gone and this being one of my favourite episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  19. BTW did you read my comment in the Flash section? it's dedicated to you LOL

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oliver lied to her for the most part of the series and suddenly Thea is not telling him the truth and the entire fandom is after her, odd double standard.

We don't know enough about their relationship yet but it seems to be genuine.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm a huge Felicity fan and I actually thought that the change of tone in this episode was necessary and welcomed. This episode was pretty much about Oliver, Nyssa and Malcolm and it worked just fine that way. I think last week's episode should've been more focused on Thea and Diggle and I hope next week is going to deliver a pretty great Felicity backstory. There are some great characters in this show and it is only smart if they use them wisely.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You said everything i said last night.....but shorter. lmfao!! I just went on and on last night. I mean Jesus did you see my comment??? I really should write for a newspaper. LOL...I WISHHHHH she would wear something like that in front of Oliver. Maybe then he could give her a freaking compliment!!! I'm still waiting for that!!!

Eddie's remark to Iris when she walked through the door was priceless!...."Feel free to buy yourself that dress." Hahahaha even if Iris did, Idt she could work it like Felicity did. Felicity killed it!! That girl works every dress she wears. but THAT one, that just became my favorite. That whole episode was amazing. Barry, Cisco, Felicity, Harrison, aww man. Can't wait til Nov 11. and Yesss, i'm so glad she's back with Team Arrow. Can't wait for next week.

  23. It's actually eerily similar to the comic books, Merlyn, whenever he went up against Ollie, was for some reason of special interest to Oliver.
That's the reason why Cupid slit Merlyns throat, to get to Oliver.
The twisted relationship is taken up a notch on this show I guess, in the DC canon it was a master/apprentice appreciation thing on Arrow it seems to be sub-familiar

it's odd though, I admit. I don't want him under his protection of "in Olivers boat" (wich seemed to be the case tonight -,-).

But view it like that: Batman will never kill the Joker, why? He doesen't kill and on a subconcious level the Joker completes him. Same with Green Arrow/Merlyn.

    ReplyDelete
  24. No, i haven't been there. I had work all day, then when i came home i stared at the clock for 3 hrs waiting for this episode. LOL I was going crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think if we judging ral al Ghul not being scary right away.........we should wait......they don't need to make him scary right away since this is the first appearance.......

    ReplyDelete
  26. If you take the romance side out of it they as in everyone really do need her to do her IT thing or they would be screwed so this show needs her more. I did get a kick out of the fact that Felicity got Oliver's old office and when you think about it she probably has more knowledge and skills to run QC than Oliver would even though his name is on the door. It is an interesting storyline that I am curious to see how it plays out. I know very little of the background to Green Arrow in the comics so whatever poetic license they are taking with developing that storyline will be interesting as it takes her out of her element in the cave with Oliver and Diggle. I do like the chemistry between Felicity and Oliver but not to the point that it would ruin her spot as one of the 2 people that Oliver has depended on most since he came back from the island. That dynamic in the cave works well so I hope the writers don't screw that up.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Uhhhh huhhh. Knew it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Am i the only one who thinks Dig, Roy and Laurel acted weird? They all pushing for Oliver to kill again or letting someone kill a person on his city? Wasn't that way weird?

    ReplyDelete
  29. It's anything but a secret that Malcolm totally has a secret motive there, that it's still a means to an end. He cared about Tommy, still ended up dead because of him, he loves Oliver as a son, but tried to kill him and is going to. He might love Thea, but that doesn't mean that he isn't simply corrupting her, manipulating her, or that even though he says he will protect her, he won't get her killed, or wouldn't try to kill her if she turned somewhat against him once, like Tommy.

And again, Oliver lied to her to protect her, and he was prepared to tell her about being the Arrow, but didn't because of Diggle and it wasn't necessary, sort of. Thea is lying directly to his face, to protect Malcolm, while Oliver is telling as much truths as he can, and she just keeps shrugging it off. He says he will always protect her, she doesn't really seem to care. Malcolm says it and she smiles like she's in the clouds... So how are those five/six months so much more important than those years with Oliver?

Either way, it just really makes her a hypocrite, she doesn't even feel bad about it, she sounded proud that he didn't know a thing!

I love her, that's what makes it suck so bad, 'cause it's just gonna get worse obviously, so I just don't know how that'll turn out to brother-sister being able to trust each other again.

Not to mention, how realistic is it REALLY if Malcolm is really the one that makes them accept that about each other? For someone that's the Arrow's nemesis, they sure as hell are making him seem like one hell of a guy.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yeah same here lol and it was awesome but my problem with it is that it had too much Laurel and Malcolm in it I mean his scenes were very powerful but I'm not a fan he's just so sick and twisted and creepy and now he's making Thea lie to Oliver and I HATE that because I love Thea and Oliver it's like you said "BUT the relationship with Oliver and Thea is soooo precious to me." to me too, I know Oliver lies a lot to her but he's only doing it to protect her and he doesn't like it and he's trying to be more honest with her plus he's not hiding the fact that he's been away for months with his serial killer father!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think the difference is that we know why Oliver was lying to her, but we have no idea if she has a hidden agenda or what are her motives for lying to him. Malcolm obviously has his own motives to come back to Starling, we just don't know if Thea knows anything about it or if she's just a pawn.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think because it exposes the hypocrisy. Thea made a big thing about honesty being important, without trying to understand why Oliver kept certain things secret. Now she's in a similar position and keeps it as secret, and it doesn't look like her motivation is to protect Oliver. She's siding with a murderer (or at least appears to be) who tried to blow up a city, so I don't think it's a double standard.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I have to say that I am underwhelmed by Nyssa. Although she has a badass attitude and is highly skilled she has yet to win a fight with any man to my satisfaction. If I was her father I would kill her and start again with my next offspring.

I didn't much care for either the actor who is playing Ra's al Ghul or his attitude towards Sarah. By his comment that she 'wasn't really one of them' was he implying that as she wasn't born into the league and had ties to her family and a continence that she wasn't truly a member? Or that she was just a random white chick his daughter picked up f*cked and trained? Either way I didn't like him. But I loved the fake Petra location for his home.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well it's still dumb. At least test out the "no jail can hold him theory" and get him arrested. Or let the people who want to ill him get the job done and don't make a pointless enemy in Ra's Al Guhll../oh wait too late.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree Thea is being a total hypocrite now. And she' siding with a terrorist/mass murderer. And I feel the whole Thea/Oliver relationship is fake.

    ReplyDelete
  36. True, Ra's would come to Starling anyway given that it was most likely him that killed Sara (or had her killed), his behaviour tonight way clearly indicative that he hated her to begin with

    ReplyDelete
  37. I just read your comment and I agree with everything!OMG Eddie! HIs face literally dropped when he saw Felicity!

I doubt she will ever wear something like that in front of Oliver. He would break and would not be able to function properly. That would be really bad for Arrow business, he needs to be focused to keep Starling safe! LOL.

Have you seen Oliver's face when Felicity returned? It was like... DON'T YOU EVER LEAVE ME. I'm exaggerating a little because I'm obsessed with this couple, but I'm sure he missed her so so so so so much. Are you ready for next week's episode? Marc Guggenheim twitted that is going to be Olicity heavy. We are going to meet her mother, her ex-boyfriend.... we're going to see her in MIT.... I'M TOO EXCITED, it's too good to be truth, I only wish we had some promo pictures.

PS.: I bet you're really happy Ray Palmer was MIA this week ;)

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think it's kind of a lazy way to bring Ra's Al Ghul to Starling.

    ReplyDelete
  39. yeah I definitely agree with that and a lazy way to keep Meryln as a regular on the show

    ReplyDelete
  40. I hope they will give us answer how Malcolm know about the island.......definitely someone in ARGUS is his source

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think one of the reasons Felicity worked so well on The Flash is because they finally gave her things to do. She flirts! She plays trivia! She worries about Barry's mental health! She hacks into the police computers! She tells Barry to trust his team! She tell the team to back up Barry! She talks to Harrison Wells! We learned more about her in one Flash episode than 2 seasons of Arrow.

On Arrow, she's usually reduced to the person behind the computers. Sometimes they let her spend some time drooling over Oliver's body. But the writers pretty much keep her in a little box, and as The Flash showed, she can be so much more.

    ReplyDelete
  42. "He would break and not be able to function properly" Your point? LOL And hey hey hey!! There is no such thing as over exxagerrating when it comes to Olicity. lol remember that. See you saw that, (don't ever leave me) I saw, "I want to smile but i can't this is such a trying time." LOL...I'm just glad that he stared at her and no one else. lol (yeah that's right i'm counting that). As for Felicity, well it doesn't have to be THAT dress, but i do want her to wear a sexy dress in front of him. Actually, i'm just looking for a compliment on his part. Am I ready?? Is Stephen Amell sexy?? lol what kinda question is that?? lmao

I didn't even NOTICE!!! No wonder i loved it tonight. hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  43. Correction...there was too much, YKW...Malcolm, otoh, was amazing. lol

    ReplyDelete
  44. we don't even know if that is why he is coming to the city.......there is a bigger motive than just revenge on Merlyn come on it not that simple

    ReplyDelete
  45. I do like the fact that she has her job at QC and am curious to see how they develop that storyline going forward so that she is out of the confines of been the person that everyone needs to answer all their IT related questions. I do wonder if the writers are testing the water to move her over to the Flash at some point in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hope so. Because the whole we gonna kill Oliver Queen because of Malcolm Merlyn thing is not that great.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Actually I wrote YKW then deleted it, didn't want to wake the "you are bashing her" bear lol

    ReplyDelete
  48. "- Nyssa blatantly blaming Saras death on Merlyn despite it's pretty obvious that it wasn't him"

Why wouldn't Nyssa blame the only suspect she really has? It goes back to Laurel blaming Komodo, the only person she even thought could have done it. If anything, it's more odd that Laurel hasn't learned one thing after wrongfully accusing Komodo already.

"- Thea/Merlyn relationship, I liked it but...he's still the guy that basically killed her father and half brother…"

The way the story has developed, I would bring up the idea that Thea doesn't REALLY care enough about Robert anymore as she didn't really show it whenever Oliver tried bringing up how Robert even knew that Malcolm was Thea's real father. I do agree that Malcolm did kill Tommy and that should bother her, but perhaps that just shows how much more evil Thea has evolved.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Do we think that Malcom has or hasn't told Thea that Oliver is the Arrow yet? from their last call it sounds as though he hasn't but at the same time you are the big bad evil Dad back to win your daughters mind and solidify the whole I'm the only one you can trust because I'm telling you the truth isn't this the best way to permanently break that bond between brother and sister, your nemesis. When she finds out he has trained a loose weapon and who knows what she will do!! There is no doubt that he loves her in his own weird way but I maybe I just haven't seen enough of them together to understand their dynamic or what it is that Merlyns intentions are for Thea!!!! Then again maybe some part of him does look upon Oliver as a son and doesn't want to ruin their relationship.

    ReplyDelete
  50. HE definitely hasn't told her. It doesn't seem she knows

    ReplyDelete
  51. Terrorist that killed over 500 people and destroyed half the city? Nah don't really thin it's that weird lol.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Another great episode!

I loved Roy's feeble attempt to stop Nyssa! XD
Roy ~ "Don't worry Thea, I'll protect you!"
    *Hood jump to Side-flip-twist*
    *Poses for camera*
    "Dart!"
    *Thud!*

Interesting to see how ARGUS fits into Oliver's time on the island! Does ARGUS also factor into Melryn having intel on Oliver's time on the island?

I get why Oliver left Merlyn unharmed.. He's in a tough spot trying to gain back Thea's trust and cannot go killing, arresting or even maiming her dad!

    Notes:
    - The Thea and Roy interaction has gone from tedious to something close to entertaining!
    - Nyssa bonding with Laurel was odd. On one level I understood and respected it, but on another level I kept wanting Laurel to mouth off so Nyssa would kill her!
    - Loved the twisted threesome action - I mean twisting Arrow v Merlyn v Nyssa fight scene!
    - Not much Diggle in this episode, but after the last Diggle-centric ep that's okay.
    - Not much Felicity either, but next week should thankfully be Felicity-centric!
    - Absolutely hated the pseudo-Petra headquarters of TLoA! Hated it!

Another solid episode that moved pieces forward and connected nicely with the flashback to HK. This season is shaping up quite nicely!

    ReplyDelete
  53. We can't forget up until one of the late scenes they also though Merlyn killed Sara!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I do think that merlyn/Oliver/Nyssa fight scene would be good enough to submit for next year emmy for stunt coordination?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Oliver doesn't know Thea has a relationship with Merlyn. AS far as he knows she thought Merlyn was dead this whole time. Also she doesn't know he's the Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  56. None of that matters in his mind though..
In his mind he wants to make it work with Thea. Killing her father would not be a good start, even if she did not find out who killed him.

Whether or not he knows Thea has a relationship with Merlyn, Oliver knows they are father and daughter. Thea and Oliver have lost so much of their "family", I cannot see Oliver killing her newly discovered father, estranged or not.

    ReplyDelete
  57. mmm i don't really see it. If my biological father who I never met and had no relationship was a terrorist who killed a bunch of people I would be kinda sad and shocked and ashamed but I wouldn't want him roaming around the city being able to hurt more people. But I guess it's tv.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Don't get me wrong...
If I were Oliver I would have killed him and dealt with the fallout!

They don't write Oliver like that though. *Shrug*
Oliver may face many dangerous baddies on the show, but at times I think his inner turmoils are his most dangerous enemy!

    ReplyDelete
  59. You know, I really didn't miss Thea at ALL. She's still a victim who keeps getting kidnapped. And even worse. she's a huge hypocrite. Whining about being lied to, but doing the exact same thing. The show's better off without her.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Holy shit, that was a fan-freaking-tastic episode! This season is really turning out to be my favorite season yet, IMO. They are not holding anything back!

Nyssa's big return to the show was long-awaited and it did not disappoint in the slightest! She was looking to avenge Sara's death in the biggest way possible and she was not messing around whatsoever. The scene where she went to Sara's grave to finally see for herself and said an arabic prayer was pretty emotional. Also, I loved her interactions with Laurel throughout the episode, especially when she gave her a little training tip at the end of the episode. Awww, that was nice.

Roy was absolute gold in this episode and totally made a fool of himself XD. The scene where he flipped over the car, trying to impress Thea, only to have been shot by Nyssa with a dart was definitely one of the highlights of the episode. Classic Roy!

That three-way action sequence between Oliver, Nyssa, and Malcolm was mind blowing. Jesus christ, that was such a well choreographed fight. All three of these characters venting their frustrations all at once, all to each other, it was all fantastic and made me tear up. It was THAT good.

Felicity was definitely missed in this episode but it was understandable considering the major plot point was Oliver and Nyssa looking to find Sara's killer and she had just stole the entire episode of The Flash last night (But more Felicity is always a plus). I died laughing when she came back from Central City and came down to the Foundry and said "What'd I miss?" XD. Ohhh, Felicity. You sure do know how to make an entrance out of no where haha.

Lance calling Sara's voicemail hoping that she will return his messages and saying that he wants to hear her voice broke my damn heart. Damnit, this is really going to crush his soul when he finds out what happened :/

I'm looking forward to seeing Roy work for Thea at Verdant. It should be interesting and I really hope this will repair their relationship even though she said it will only be platonically. Mhmm, sure Thea. We'll see how long that lasts ;)

And we have our first look at Ra's Al Ghul! Also, Nanda Parbat!! and the Lazarus Pit!! It was pretty hard to make a final judgement on Matt Nable's portrayal since he only appeared in the final scene for like 3 seconds so hopefully he will show up again very soon. I'm impressed so far, though.

Can't freaking wait for Felicity's big backstory episode next week!

    ReplyDelete
  61. That actually makes a lot of sense. Would be awesome if it actually happened.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Love having Nyssa back again, she is such a badass. Her finding out about Sara was really sad.

Malcolm/Oliver scene was intense, I love Stephen acting with Barrowman, he raises SA acting game.

The Oliver, Malcolm, Nyssa fight scene was awesome.

Laurel continues to annoy me. I don't find her compelling or engaging at all.

Detective Lance calling Sara made me feel so bad for him. He is going to be so broken.

Roy's little parkour move off the car made me giggle. Showoff! Unnecessary dude!

Missed Felicity but big episode for her last week so it's all good.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I just feel bad for Roy. Months of training, becoming badass (or more badass), finding his place in the world, learning to deal with his anger and the guy just gets knocked out by a tranq dart.

    ReplyDelete
  64. That Ra's al Ghul voice/ SO awesome! and Nice base.
I also like how Merlyn explained clearly he didn't kill Sara making sure Oliver believed it.
And damn I guess when you have someone as bad ass as Ra's al Ghul, you have to make him an enemy rather then a friend. Now that Oliver swore to protect Merlyn while he is in Star City.

Laurel is uncool till she is some day.

Roy/Thea, good for them being friends. It might get awkward when the club opens with that sub character DJ.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I thought he looked relieved like he was thinking "you're home! The world makes sense again" lol
you know what? He probably didn't mean any of these things and we are reading way too much into his look because we are going through an Olicity withdrawal lol but I really loved that even if she is not in the episode they put her in one scene, a while ago someone asked (I think Marc) on Twitter if she's not going to be in the episode since she's going to be on the Flash and he said "she will be in it because we love you guys" l loved his answer he knows us so well lol (and who was missing from 3 episodes last season without any scenes? Couldn't resist lol)

    ReplyDelete
  66. This was Arrow at it's best. Ahh.. So good. I loved every bit of it. Even Laurel.. See show it only takes good writing. Nyssa, Oliver and Malcom killed it this episode.

Before Arrow I was unaware of Paul Blackthorne and never understood the hype about Malcolm Merlyn. Then I followed him off screen and understood what a great personality he was. Still I was not a huge fan of resurrecting Malcolm. But dear lord did he steal the show this episode. That scene at the Plaza and when Nyssa tied up was great acting. He was wonderful. I am a fan for life.

Nyssa needs to defect the League once she realizes Ra's killed Sara and join Arrow permanently. Or made a strong recurring character. She is such an asset to this show. Nyssa's grief at Sara's death made me sad we would never see that relationship ever. Nyssa's scenes with Laurel made me sympathize with her as I never could before on Arrow. This actually brought to light how bad Oliver/Laurel scenes are. That scene at the gym where Nyssa cheered Laurel on and Laurel smiled was great. At last I wanted Laurel to suceed in what ever she wishes to do.

I respect Oliver's reasons. But him not even trying to put away Malcolm Merlyn and give him protection is baffling. The least he could have done was let SCPD know about Merlyn and make it impossible for him to be in Starling City. If League kills him outside Starling it's not his beef. I think Oliver still loves Malcolm from his childhood days.

Thea is wonderful this season. How great was that tied up scene. Also how come I am more invested in Thea/Roy relationship now that they have broken up. I was apathetic to them last two seasons. Now I am rooting for them.

Some one please tell Quentin. My parent heart cries for him every time I see him. Not much of Diggle. Booo. Welcome back Felicity. You belong here.

    ReplyDelete
  67. This was concise way of what I said in a long rant.Just add Malcolm was awesome. I love this comment.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I liked that Felicity was absent this episode. There was no need for her. Last season in the episode The Promise they should have done the same. Felicity was not needed there too. Lack of Felicity actually made me more excited for next episode.

I thought JB was perfect this episode. He is so sincere when he talks to Oliver, Nyssa and Thea it makes me doubt him. He present a strong case though. I don't think he killed Sara but man has some long game planned.

Nyssa still doubting Malcolm and wanting to kill him was believable. League knows more about Malcolm and his abilities than Oliver and Co. ever could. Oliver is blinded by his love for Thea where as Nyssa is not.

I don't think it was Sin who killed Sara but if it turns out it's her I would be happy. Who ever shot that bow is just a follower and was acting on Ra's orders. That much was clear. So from whom should Team Arrow exact revenge from? the trigger man/woman or the big guy himself.

    ReplyDelete
  69. If only Nyssa/Sara was not a couple and a great one at that, I would have shipped Laurel/Nyssa. But no. Enough with dating sisters.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Second verse, same as the first. This episode felt really repetitive of "Sara." Go after a bad guy, who may have killed Sara and definitely needed going after, fight about being a killer in the name of vengeance, guy turns out to be a red herring. Meanwhile, emotional, angry, partly irrational girl yells at Oliver to kill. I'm not sure I needed it twice, but I am completely sure I want a different plot when Lance finally finds out. TELL THE MAN! Laurel lying to him is so unacceptable. I get that they got a lot of drama out of the voicemail, but the amount it is making me dislike Laurel when they are trying to rehab her isn't worth it. He is a cop he takes stress on a daily basis, he took finding Laurel beaten to a pulp in the hospital, he takes the stress of worrying about Sara. The line "He has a heart condition" isn't flying (not that it ever was).

Sometimes these writers turn and look at the audience and say "This is the official story of why we are doing this. Deal with it." And then they never address it again. I don't like it, especially when I disagree with the logic and want something more nuanced. For instance, I'm not buying "no prison can hold me" so Oliver has to "project" Malcolm? That makes no sense! Yes, Oliver shouldn't kill him. Yes, Oliver shouldn't give tacit approval for LoA to kill him for him (Dig, what are you thinking?) because that's just killing him by proxy. But to not attempt to bring Malcolm to justice at all? Or shortsightedly making it all about Sara? He destroyed the Glades! He needs to go to prison, face trial, whatever. That is what being a hero is, not being judge, jury and executioner: Doing the right thing. fighting for justice. And Malcolm doesn't deserve to wander around Starling City. It is a lazy way to leave him running about and get Oliver on LoA's sh*t list.

Thea's transformation is so radical and unrealistic that I'm having a very difficult time anytime she is on screen. The cold-blooded lying in the face of Oliver trying to make good on his promise, followed by thanking Malcolm when Oliver was the one who saved her? AH, she's frustrating, where did her brain go? I will give Katie Cassidy points that I WILL NOT give to Willa Holland, at least she went to the gym and obviously started punching stuff. She has muscle tone. And she has boxing muscles. So thank you, Katie Cassidy, for taking your job seriously, so my suspension of disbelief isn't stretched way past it's breaking point. They need to have a new plot for Thea because if she doesn't become a villain, I'm done with her. I put up with whiny party brat, I put up with fuss at her boyfriend and flipflop on everyone else, but I'm done with drastic irrational character shifts, just turn her evil so I won't be forced to try to like her anymore.

  71. I love Thea/Malcolm and their scenes. But Thea keeping secrets is not same as Oliver keeping secrets. Unless Thea has something planned. Malcolm is a mass murderer who killed Robert who brought Thea up, he blackmailed her mother for years, kidnapped her step father and killed 502 people along with her step brother. How can we not blame Thea for being loyal to Malcolm? She is a hypocrite and they are eroding Oliver/Thea relationship piece by piece. I am excited to see where it leads. I hope they resolve it and bring Thea to the fold soon.

  72. Even last season in a deleted scene Nyssa kicks Roy's ass. They have a connection.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The double standard is Thea's. If you are going to be mad about people not being truthful, then you need to be truthful yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I agree. That headquarters of LoA was so bad. I hope they never show that cgi shot ever. Also wasn't Nanda Parbat in Nepal on a snow covered mountain somewhere in the himalayas?

    ReplyDelete
  75. I missed her, but have to agree that it was not bad she was not in there.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Digg and Roy didn't push for Oliver to kill Malcolm. They asked him to let Nyssa do it if she wants to as Malcolm is a dangerous man. Laurel pushed him at first but later trusted Oliver's judgement.

    ReplyDelete
  77. imo they are cleaning out her lovelife (301 and 104 The Falsh) to make for better storytelling.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I think if we had not seen her in The Flash this week her absense would have been noticable. It was fun to see Diggle manning the coms.

  79. There one main reason why i loved this episode. I knew the moment Sraa got shot with the arrows it was either Ra's or Malcolm. I lend more towards Ra's the last 2 weeks. Thank God i went with my gut. After last weeks episode.
Other reasons why i loved this episode Ra's making his grand appearance (FINALLY). Nyssa return only to find out her father was behind Sara's death. Malcolm returned to Starling City with the return of the Black Arrow...
I didnt care too much for the flashback until the very end. I still cant stand Amanda. In anything. Even in the animated movies.
only depressing part was no Felicity..She was was in Central City with Barry so I'm not too mad. OVERALL: A+++ episode.
I cant wait for the Felicity centric episode next week

  80. Question to comic book fans: Wasn't Nanda Parbat supposed to be a mountain in Nepal which is snow covered and a part of the himalayas. I only know from Nolanverse. This head Quarters of LoA looked like it is in Egypt or somewhere in the middle east.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I loved how Oliver quoted Felicity that an idiot could manage the program and he grabs his head ;-) (although that was not the reason).

Have been suspecting Ras all along, but I thought they would lead us on a chase tale of suspects before. Maybe it was not Ra's. The Sin theory of Mac is pretty cool, the murder did feel personal.

    ReplyDelete
  82. it looks very much like Petra in Jordania. if i remember correctly in history the Assasins (or hashashin) originate from the arab world. Maybe there are references to that in the comics?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Nyssa does speak a lot of arabic. So it could be in middle east. The first episode when Sara said Nanda Parbat was hot I was like no. Its never hot in tibet. The word Nanda Parbat has hindu influence and its in hindi language. So I hoped its around India or Nepal. Doesn't make sense to have a Nanda Parbat in middle east. In arabic mountain is jabal.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I did not like the choreography of Arrows and Nyssa fighting alone. It was nice how they tried to show that the Arrow is much slower than Nyssa but for me it lookd as if the suite was hindering Arrows movement (which is probableyvery close to the truth). Loved how Nyssa stopped the Nyssas arrows with the scarf. Cloth is a very interesting fabric which hinders a lot of weapons.

Like your Sin theory, nice twist. I was supsecting Ra's and I'm ruling out Thea my no 2. Submitted a poll regarding Saras murder, hope it's up soon.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I get it he doesn't want to kill anyone and do not want league operating in Starling city. The least he could do was detain Malcolm and give him to SCPD even if he will break out. This will make the fact Malcolm Merlyn is alive out to everyone in the city and difficult for Malcolm to operate there. If he leaves Starling and League kills him its not Oliver's problem. Just listening to Malcolm say you can't contain me and give into his whims was contrived. It looked like Oliver has residual feelings for Malcolm from his childhood.

    ReplyDelete
  86. well if you think about the persian empire mabye that explains the connections.... ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Maybe. According to wiki Nanda Parbat is in tibet Nepal.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I think they are many cultural influences into the league of shadow.
You have arabic, all names are in arabic (ras 'al ghul, nyssa, ta-er al sahfer) and asian by the way they dress.
But i didn't get the language that Nyssa use when she visits Sarah grave.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Personal or not I think Ra's was behind the murder. Or Malcolm is playing a long game and Thea is completely brainwashed and it is her who killed Sara. That would be so twisted. SA said in an interview we will be really surprised by the reveal of Sara's killer. Will we be surprised if it is Malcolm or Ra's? I hate mysteries. It needs to be solved.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Thea and Roy are my no 2 suspects, but I am ruling out Thea atm, cause I don't think she is already a killer, but on the other hand if she was brainswahsed..... and SA interview also leads me to believe that maybe Saras murder was something personal and has a ripple effect like invlolving Ra's but is actually not connected to the big bad.

    ReplyDelete
  91. well, I know a little about arabic and the way it sound. It didn't sound like arabic. But like you said with Oliver's russian can be said about Sarah's arabic skills. About Nanda Parbat, it looks like a middle eastern desert, i'm thinking Jordania. The reference with Petra was obvious.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I am an Indian who live in middle east. That is not arabic that we hear in these areas at least. But that's fine. This is an American show they always butcher languages unless it's spanish. It does look like middle east. But the term Nanda Parbat for a middle eastern location irks me. It has Hindu/Buddhist influence which is completely absent in middle east.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I am ruling out Sin because we won't be that affected by her deceit as we are not that attached to the character. Also Oliver is not that connected to Sin. But if it is Roy or Thea we will be gutted. I still think Komodo has something to do with all this.. He is too big to be such a minor character.

  96. Crazy (but awesome episode)...I think I'll have to watch it again! Great to see Nyssa back. Katrina Law really needs her own show.

I feel terrible for Detective Lance. I think that Sara's death will hit him the hardest. I can understand Laurel not having the heart to tell him, but eventually he'll have to know.

Totally agree with you! Awesome episode, but Felicity is the best of Arrow, I need MORE Felicity :P Thank you!!!

  99. Best episode of the season by far. I love that Laurel is finally having thick skin. Also, Nyssa was the best part of the episode especially with her accent.

The scene where Felicity randomly came in after Nyssa left was flat out hilarious.

Also, it's great to see Malcolm and Oliver have scenes again together!! I love the rivalry between them.

  100. I confirm Arabic, and an academic one, like spoken in Emirates and near by

"Oksimu bi hayati", if I remember correctly that's the begining of her speech, she swore on her Life to avenge her death
North African arabic got a lot of slang (argo in french) and different accents
Nyssa was speaking with for sure an accent but I understood her lines, she did pronounce correctly every sound, "e saher" means litteraly Magician

    Katrina Law did very well,

    ReplyDelete
  101. Best episode yet...HOWEVER...they are making Red Arrow look like a bafoon. That whole twisting jump move, only to land and get taken out by a tiny dart made him look weak. And all he ever does is mope around and doesn't do anything. They need to give him better writing AND something to do.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Thanks, I think I couldn't pass through Katrina Law's accent. Now i get it. Get you write it all ?

Yes, you're right north african arabic got a lot of slang and different accents but I know ,in Algeria for example :-), that when people speak academic arabic the accent tend to disappear.

    ReplyDelete
  103. To be fair, had he had the skill that he has now, with the Mirakuru he would be able to give Nyssa a fair fight.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Absolutely amazing episode. Every character tonight hit the mark. In particular I loved seeing Nyssa come back and how the show explored her grief. Also loved how invested Malcolm is in Thea and zomfg shit went down at the end. Oliver... you've got a fight on your hands. Looking forward to next weeks episode too where we'll see felicity's origins. Really nice work arrow!

    ReplyDelete
  105. I definitely agree. He could at least put him in prison or let the league tell him. The fact that he listened when he said "no prison can holed me" was really dumb and I just don't get it. It just seems like a way to keep Malcolm alive ad roaming around Starling city and keep him a regular on the show. If this is the reason why Ra's comes to Starling City, I think that is absolutely ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Actually the extent at which Thea is brainwashed, that creepy, almost in love smile when she talks to Malcolm, is really making me doubt if I really want to keep on watching this show... The writing for Thea hating Oliver so much and leaving was already shabby at best, and now she just doesn't even relaly seem to give a shit about Oliver or anyone anymore? All she seems to care about is dear old "daddy"

But seriously, I would especially stop watching completely if it did turn out that it was Thea, so much brainwashed that she killed Sara, either way if they already made her a killer... So I personally don't exactly see the relationshuip as brilliant, yet still more lame writing because they just... I swear, this whole season they're making me feel like JB is ten times more the star in the writers and producers eyes than SA will ever be, and that's why they're making the Arrow's nemesis seem like such an amazing guy, that's father of the year somehow...

Besides, I think that per episode that Thea is going to keep up this hypocrisy, the less chance there is of that relationship between the two of them ever recovering. Let's be honest, Oliver has good reasons for the secrets he has left, but is doing his best to be honest with her, and she? She again just doesn't seem to care like I said, it actually seemed more when she was on the phone with Macolm that she was feeling freaking proud of herself for Oliver being in the dark and not knowing anything.

By now I just think they should just come out and say that she's never going to become Speedy, and they just want her as a mindless evil Merlyn-drone...

    ReplyDelete
  107. I don't really get at all why it's would be Roy... And if it was Thea, twisted and gutted would be super understatements... I mean, I'm still hoping for Oliver and Thea actually being brother-sister again, working together, but I'm really sincerely doubting that they are ever going to do that, or that Thea is ever going to come back from this, so who knows, maybe it was her... I'm definitely losing all bits of faith in their plan for her anyway.

I still think it's really weird and fake what they're doing with Malcolm, having Oliver protect him against the entirety of the League? And for what? So he can continue corrupting Thea, and she can continue lying to his face and loving every second of it? 'Cuase she definitely doesn't feel bad about it, so she probably does love to lie to him. And then what? They're going to force it on us that Malcolm is supposedly even more of an amazing good guy, when he makes both Thea and Oliver realize to each other that people just have secrets? Well, really, if they're going that route, that's even more bullshit and bad writing than everything else, 'cause again that's more of a: 'We just love john Barrowman SO much.' then actually caring about your storytelling, or your actual characters, 'cause my love for Thea is definitely being ruined more and more this way, which just really frustrates me >.<

    ReplyDelete
  108. Yeah, it's purpose seems to be more and more about making sure that Oliver and Thea will hate each other's guts and never trust each other again for the rest of their lives, and Mini-Merlyn, so yay...

    ReplyDelete
  109. Which is why I keep saying that it feels like the writers and stuff are just completely forcing JB down our throats, and i get it, he's awesome, but that's causing them to totally screw up the storyline there.

I still thought that the Dark Archer was supposed to be the Arrow's real true nemesis, instead they're making it seem like also Oliver secretly sees Malcolm way more as his father than he eer viewed Robert... Which makes me wonder why put Robert in this show in the first place? 'Cause it's really unfair to the memory of that guy that the mass murderer seems to be way more important in every way.

I was really hoping that it would be until the halfway point of the season, the whole Malcolm/Thea thing, but I feel like they're really going to keep her on his hip as his little pet, and thatt when Ollie gets in trouble with Ra's, they're even going to make Malcolm come to the rescue, well... Great way of ruining your show guys, because I can tell you now that I'd just laugh in dissapointment if this all keeps being so predictable, yet destroying multiple characters pretty much in the process.

    ReplyDelete
  110. A lot of them are really good, but there's still some things in their relationship that feels really forced. And what could Thea possibly have planned? All she's thinking about is having Daddy's approval it seems like, and taking revenge on her brother that she doesn't exactly seem to care about anymore. It's SO easy for her to lie to him, it doesn't seem to bother her one bit, after all the fuss about not keeping secrets, being truthful, and never giving Oliver the chance to explain.

I really want them to bring her to the fold soon too, but I doubt it, so much right now.. At least in a believable way. I mean honestly, if she's going to keep lying like this, almost with joy and pride, how strong the hypocrisy is with this one, how do they, or we, ever expect the Oliver/Thea bond to become the same again, or better? How can they expect there ever to be trust again? That's what I'm really worried about.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Or he did tell her, and Thea just doesn't give a crap... Like seriously, all she seems to care about is Malcolm telling her what a good little girl she is and she seems in the clouds...

Either way, no matter how you put it, per episode it seems way more likely that no matter what, Thea will choose Malcolm over Oliver any day.

    ReplyDelete
  112. If I didn't want Nyssa as a regular on Arrow so badly, I'd petition for Katrina Law to have her own superhero show.
My favorite scene - Nyssa punched Oliver in the face and it was GORGEOUS. I wanted to watch it over and over in slow motion.
I'm really not sympathetic towards Oliver at all. Roy, Thea or Laurel either for that matter.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Thank you for clearing it up. I have only heard arabic spoken in emirates and KSA. It didn't sound like those :)

    ReplyDelete
  116. "If that is true, then Oliver Queen courts war with us."

    ReplyDelete
  117. So, if anyone can answer me this, that would be impressive in a way:
I don't understand for a second, how the producers and stuff told so tough how this was going to be Thea's season on the island, before she would become a hero, even though I still think they'd rather keep goign in against it as much as possible, than actually let her become Speedy.

I mean, I know Roy didn't really suffer much either, but there was SOME involved, now with Thea... She might be brainwashed, and she might have endured some pain during trainging, but she CHOOSE that... There is no real "hell" factor for her, she isn't suffering, she doesn't have a hard time at ALL lying to Oliver's face, she even enjoys it/feels proud...

So again, how does any of that come back to this being her version of the island??

    ReplyDelete
  118. I Googled it and it is suppsoed to be in Tibet high in the mountains.

    ReplyDelete
  119. The more I know about her it just makes me think she's more suited to Flash or Firestorm. In the beginning it was different because she was just someone working for QC.

    ReplyDelete
  120. On another note, I loved how Nyssa called Sarah her Beloved. That's a great little nod to Batman given that Talia calls Bruce Wayne her Beloved.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I shouldn't have used the word "pushing"... My english vocabulary is pretty limited.
It just seemed weird to me. The point is he can't let somebody enter Seattle and start killing people. He's a guardian who is above that. That's the whole point of comic books heroes like Batman or Supes, for example.
This is his city and killing is wrong. He who brakes the law, should be punished by the law.
Diggle should know that wasn't right... Oliver knew this and he made the right choice at the end, but the words he used where poorly selected. No kidding Nyssa went to papa al Ghul to take down Ollie.

Diggle, more than anyone, should know that wasn't the answear. You see how Oliver looks for Roy for help and he is just nodding to Dig.

To me it looked way out of character... Well, might be only me, then.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Also contrary to the flash where the characters are a lot similar to her, on Arrow there is no character like felicity, and im referring to her personality.

    ReplyDelete
  123. She's more suited to the flash because on the flash every character is lke her witch is why Arrow is in much more need of a character like felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  124. That's because she was there just for one episode, obviously she's gonna do more.

    ReplyDelete
  125. It's clearly Slade no doubt bout it lol. Manu Bennett could have secretly signed on for a guest spot on Arrow. secondly the voice was a man and in the finale Shado told Slade to avenge her what better to not only kill his mom but kill the women he chose to save on the island.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Right now I can't even predict where they are going with Thea. On one hand she loves Oliver very much as seen in last episode. He is the only weakness she has. But on the other hand she is lying on face to her brother for the sake of this bad person. We know Malcolm has something devious planned down the road. But he also seems to care about Thea in his twisted way like Oliver said. Nothing is going to change the fact that Malcolm is a psychopath. However twisted they take Thea, whatever mistakes she makes along the way how she responds once Oliver comes completely clean to her about his time away, the torture he suffered and his reasons to be Arrow will decide the path for her. Until then I will believe she has just lost her way.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Roy is young and I don't know what goes on his head. But the way I see it Diggle is reacting like a soldier. He is a 3 tour special forces veteran. And in real life terrorists like Malcolm who tries to level a city and almost succeeded will most probably be hunted down and taken out. Diggle must have taken care of lot of bad guys like Malcolm in his time with the force.

That does not mean Oliver is wrong. Oliver is completely right in not allowing LoA run free in Starling. But at the same time he is not right in providing protection for Malcolm. He should at least put him away in some kind of prison or send him packing from Starling city. He does not deserve to stay in a city which he helped to go to ruins.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Me too. Then it should be super cold there. Nanda Parbat is a part of himalayas iirc.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Imo Oliver can give Nyssa a fair fight and Roy will still be whooped one on one with Nyssa. She held her own facing both Malcolm and Oliver this episode. Pshhh.. Roy is nothing for her.

As I said they have a soul connection now. Every time Nyssa visits Roy will get kicked or poison dart to the neck. Let's make it a tradition.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Last season in the episode League of Assassins Al Owal tells Sara "just because you are the beloved..... blah blah" before Sara killing him. I then thought she was the beloved of Ra's Al Ghul. It's good to get a call back on that.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I don't think Thea hates or disliked Oliver. Instead I think Oliver is her only weak point in her armor now. I am not justifying Thea here. What she does is utter hypocrisy and some what childish and self destructive.

But what I think the show is trying to portray here is with all the lies that Oliver, Moira and Roy piled up on Thea last season and to see Moira being killed in such a brutal way in front of her made her distrust anything and everything in her life. Swoops in Malcolm who promises her "gee I am a bad guy but trust me Thea I will never lie to you" and she went with him with open eyes. She wanted to be strong. He didn't coddle her, he made her strong. Now she trusts him to never lie to her and somewhere along this 5 month break she connected with him as a father.

What I saw today was her lying to Oliver was to protect the secret that Malcolm is here in Starling city. She does not know Oliver is the Arrow and he already knows Malcolm's where abouts. Malcolm knows what is going on in both Oliver and Thea's minds and he is expertly manipulating them and using them to make his ends meet. He could have easily told Thea at least this episode that Oliver is Arrow and he already knows Merlyn is here in Starling. What do you think Thea will feel when she knows Merlyn made her unnecessarily lie to her brother. Malcolm used Oliver's love for Thea and Thea's need for fatherly love to manipulate them. When the siblings realizes this Malcolm better run fast.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Dude, don't get my hopes up! If and when Slade comes back this season it will be at the season finale last scene I am afraid. But I hope he comes and this time a little less crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  133. We are predicting Roy because he was mirakurued last season. Even though he was cured if there is any residue effect on him due to the drug and he goes bat shit crazy once in a while that could explain his killing Sara. Most probably it will not be either Thea or Roy. Making Thea a killer will not help Oliver realise he can have both identities as Oliver and Arrow. That will just f**k him up more. they won't go that way.

I had a problem with the way Oliver giving protection to Malcolm. To let Merlyn loose in Starling city is really out of character for Oliver. I think he has backlog of feelings for uncle Merlyn from his childhood lol. And in his on twisted way he does not want Thea to loose another parental figure from her life. Let's see how this goes. Don't loose hope. They have some twist planned for her I am sure.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I really do hope he'll have to run fast, because this happened way too early in my opinion, Oliver completely vouching for Malcolm and them basically putting him in now as some kind of wannabe Anti-hero or something... I just still really fear they're going to keep this there forever or something, and that they'll always keep Thea in between Oliver and Malcolm...

    ReplyDelete
  135. I REALLY want to believe that too, but I just couldn't help but notice and keep thinking of how proud and joyful she sounded and looked when she told Malcolm that Oliver was in the dark. Which just brings me to the fact that they can still let her make too many mistakes, or not to mention actual choices, like this level of lying already, while Oliver is trying to be as honest as possible. It just hurts xD

I do still really believe and hope that him coming clean and her knowing it will change it and make her fully choose him, but I don't know, after reading an interview, there's still the possibility of them going for some weird twist and making Malcolm Dr. Phil and being the one to make them accept each other's lies and secrets...

    ReplyDelete
  136. I am afraid Thea is always going to be between Oliver and Malcolm. And Malcolm will milk that connection as much as possible. So that's why I think one day Thea herself will ask Oliver to take Malcolm down. He is not going to stay down. That's another thing.

    ReplyDelete
  137. I detect a slight case of Stockholm Syndrome where Thea is idealising Malcolm. Granted she was not kidnapped and went away with him voluntarily but he did use extreme tactics to train her. Such tactics usually changes a person. Even if Malcolm plays the anti hero card for some time how long do you think it will last? He definitely will do something that will put more people in danger and then the rose glasses will fall off.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Hm, I hope not at least, Roy has had his attention already. This was supposed to be Thea's version of the Island, though until now, she definitely doesn't have anything close to a hell-ish time like Oliver mostly, and they "kind of" gave Roy xD

Yeah, that also really bugs me, just like the fact that he does seem to have some of those feelings, it's not just for Thea, though it's part of it, but it is also indeed a part of him, which is just so... It again makes me worry they are actually gonna try and redeem Malcolm, which would be entirely out of character.

I'm trying my best, to not give up hope, but those twists until now are seriously the problem... The way of lying just frustrates me, and then we're also still gonna get her 12-year old love interest... I'm doing my best not to give up, but it's also hard to keep the hope up lol xD
Honestly, they made plenty clear that they regret hinting so much to Speedy from the start, and that now they want to do anything possible to go in against that expectation, and I'm just still worried to what lengths their gonna do that, or how much longer.
Or just simply put, what kind of twists. That is really stressing me out xD

I'm just saying, I'm REALLY not going to hold onto my hope if it's actually this entire season...

    ReplyDelete
  139. Well, that I could definitely live with, and somehow I could even see that happening.

I'm more worried that it's going to be that exact thing, but that it's not just going to be Malcolm milking that as much as possible, but also the writers. Honestly, these 4 episodes, they have managed to hint WAY more to wanting to redeem Malcolm and keeping him around until the end of the show, than actually something really pointing to Speedy.

So I just worry that she's never going to become Speedy because of that, and them always keeping her somewhat loyal to Malcolm. If you get what I mean, I'm tired xD

  140. They should still just really, before the last 4/5 episodes of the season at max, make him do something like that, yeah. Kill someone, or it actually being the case that the weirdly young looking "love interest" is going to turn out fairly quickly as some creep that Malcolm hired.

But you definitely have a good point, just like I said, the weird smile every time she talks to him, or he says something good to her, just seems REALLY brainwashy more than anything, so that could definitely be a form of Stockholm. That would definitely make sense to me, so I just hope it's something like that, and not just Thea actually so simply accepting him and getting close, that still feels... Weird and forced in a way xD

  141. If they didn't have any plans to make her speedy they wouldn't have planted that Mia reference in episode 1. Whatever roundabout way these producers may talk in interviews the foreshadowing usually pans out in this show. They said Laurel getting a jacket does not mean she will be BC. But its very clear that the way they are going. Be it Slade's mask, Laurel's fishnet comment, Roy's hoodie every thing has worked out for these characters. I strongly believe they will make Thea speedy.

  142. Keep faith!! We will do a prayer circle for Thea LOL. I don't see her becoming speedy this season. But by sometime next season yes. Also I think there is always going to be a connection for Thea with Merlyn. Mostly adveserial but some times emotional. Things will work out you will see...:)

  143. Hahah lol, we probably should xD

Hm... It does kinda make me sigh though, I mean, I really don't feel like watching an entire season of Thea being Malcolm's pet and her only in the last minutes of the last episode of the season turn around, then it would kinda feel too late... She doesn't have to fully become Speedy, but I do hope it's going to be this season that she actually joins team Arrow. Three completely seasons of her being clueless, annoying and unreasonable, and now also a hypocrite, might be more than I can handle xD

  144. I still do too, and it would just be dumb if they didn't.

I'm just saying, they've admitted themselves they want to do anything possible to go in against that expectation, so much so that they definitely manage to give me the impression several times that they'd rather have her as some Merlyn sidekick than with Oliver.

  145. Don't remember exact words but he said that Oliver had got himself at war with the clan.

  146. How about being just a young girl surrounded by psychos, being afraied, learning her real father is a killer and a crazy person to the world, hitting on her own brother - Tommy, not having anyone to talk for real cause everyone hides some kind of secret and ultimately watching her mom to get murdered right in front of her... It's a lot to take. She is annoying whining about secrets, yes, but in general it is really hard to process for a sane person. It's a comics world so from that point of view she has not reached her island yet, I agree, but from human perspective, I guess, she's just landed on it. Anyway the number of bad days Oliver has suffered and still counting can't be beaten by any current character close to him (Sara, rest in peace! and even if she was still alive). :)

  147. I suppose that's very true, but we all know that almost all those things were season 1 or season 2, so that doesn't necessarily really count...

They literally said it themselves about this being her season for that, both the producers as Willa herself, but my problem with that until now is just that unlike those other two seasons, now she's suddenly acting like she doesn't care about much at all, except for Malcolm's opinion about her and ppproval, and that just seems partially like a step back again from this being so hard on her.

For now it's just kind of ridiculous that the season they said was for her, is the season they mostly make her seem brainwashed, or just only caring about Malcolm, and not really allowing herself to REALLY care about Oliver again, or it would really hurt her more to lie, like it hurts him every time.
Then again, not that I want her to suffer or have a hellish time, but I just really want her on his side, on the team, and they're just doing so much to go in against that at every turn xD

I'm just saying, no matter how you put it, lying so much to Oliver should be a hard thing for her, at least a little bit, but it still seems the complete opposite, like she feels SO proud for doing that, and again, all kinds of signs that point to her having found some sick twisted Stockholm "happy place" or something xD

  148. I haven't read or checked much of those interviews so I guess I missed some meaning you tired to say. Anyway she could just mask all that feelings of weakness and suffocation with the lies under tough girl exterior. She said it herself that she doesn't wanna hurt or get hurt ever again. She is more like Oliver in the beginning of season 1. Several months had passed for her to get prepared to meeting the outside world so when she faced it again she was all cool and... cold, deepening all the feelings of joy and happiness inside. Season has just stated so a lot for her to face in the future and more importantly imminent confrontation with her own brother, though I hate that version of events... It's such a cliche for me. Maybe something will happen with Oliver considering the pictures of later episode (him in the mountains) that will make a whirlpool out of her cool life.
