SO GOOD. I knew it would happen but that didn't stop me from getting sucker punched. I laughed, I sighed, I smiled, I yelled at my TV. EVERYTHING a show should be. Yeah, there will be those who disagree but I'm so thrilled that my favorite show still has the power to pull me in like that. And now . . . I need a minute.
I really liked it but I think they made a huge mistake and underestimated their audience with that last move. It didn't particularly bother me but I think I'm deeply in the minority.
DAMN IT NOOOO DAMN IT ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! NO NOT SARA DAMN IT AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHYYYYYYY GOD DAMN IT NOOOOO, is should've known laurel is the official black canary BUT DAMN IT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome premiere...so much happenned!! I think this season has so much potential, but i'm a little disappointed by the final minutes..the writers could go with another path for Sara, even doing Laurel's black canary arc, but sadly it was not the case. Oh well. I will miss you Sara Lance! And Go Arrow!! this season will be a roller coaster from beggining to the end..i can already feel!
No but seriously. I think they made a huge mistake with what they did with Sara. HUGE. I honestly can't believe they built her up so much in the latter half of season 2 only to have her killed in the first episode. I truly didn't want Sara to be a plot device for Laurel. Unfortunately my fears have come true.
They could and SHOULD have killed her in the end of season 2, this was just a cheap way to actually make up for a lackluster episode. Cheap cliffhanger tbh. And I didn't care for Sara
Holy shit! I hate myself for being right about Sara and Komodo! Dammit i shouldn't write that...
The action was AWESOME! Roy is crazy spectacular: "There's no yellow wire!" Jajajaja The fight scene of Oliver VS The Arrow was too much levels of epicness!
Oliver's identity crisis is gonna be a great thing to watch and Felicity is right, he says he can't be with her but he can't say "never"... Now is her turn to make him sweat! To show him what he's missing for being a moron...
Felicity was awesome as always! Her interactions with Ray Palmer were hilarious Jajajaja I want more of that!
Now we can have Laurel go on a rage spiral of revenge, to pull a "Season 2 Roy"! Now that is the Laurel i want to see!
Diggle... Is going to be way too interesting to see his journey this year!
To each their own. I think it was a good setup for things to come. Sara dying wasn't a cliffhanger. It was a plot twist I suppose. A plot twist everyone knew was coming which makes it all the more stupid.
They shouldn't have killed Sara because there's so much she can do. This was just an obvious way of making Laurel BC and I hate that they turned Sara into a plot device. I absolutely hate it. I think that the ending sucked, but the rest of the episode was on par.
There were a couple of things I expected to happen ... and also did not want. I knew Oliver would distance himself from Felicity, yet keep her just within reach by telling her he loved her. I kind of hate that Felicity told Oliver that by having "the talk" it would end the possibility of them being together. Funny thing is that Oliver's talk was a lot of evasion because he does love her and doesn't want to let her go. Felicity knew this would be how Oliver would react, do you have to respect Felicity for taking control of the situation on her own terms. The second thing I expected was Sara's fate at the end. Now we will find out why she returned, which will unfold the story surrounding who killed her and is now the next threat.
On a happier note, Diggle has his little girl. I wonder if he will still be a part of Team Arrow now that Diggle has a family who depends on him. Also, I'm really liking Ray and am anxious to see where this character is going. It's nice to see a new character who is funny and charming and not a vicious threat who wants to kill one or more members of Team Arrow.
WHAT AN AMAZING PREMIERE. I was happy, excited, sad, and upset all in one hour. I’m happy for Diggy, Sad for Olicity, excited about the season (Arsenal, Ray Palmer, the..) coming of Ra's, and upset about Sara’s death….. Ra’s or Malcolm will pay for killing Sara. Overall: GREAT START
I can't believe they kill Sara off I understand that Laurel is going to be the Black Canary but they could've done it better it was good episode the ending I didn't like
No one would respect Laurel as Black Canary if Sara was still out there. So, even though I agree that they've spent a lot of time building her character, i do think her death was necessary to develop Laurel. I really like Sara but if we consider that she is a guest star and Laurel is a regular, there was no choice to make.
got to disagree there, the end actually was dark and had mystery to it. The rest of the episode felt pretty lifeless and written to appease a certain fanbase.
The end was actually surprisingly far away from the...well...****fest we got in the first 40 minutes. Come on, I don't really want to count the time but how much did we actually spend on the Counts storyline? About 5-6 minutes. Whereas the most was Oliver worrying about Felicity, the date, him asking her for a date, Oliver pushing Diggle away, Diggle angst etc.
I'll be honest though, I scratched my head a lot in this episode. Not only on the shipping that always annoys me but mostly on the unexplained aspects.
Where the hell did Sara come from? Did no one see her going up that roof? Who transformed Roy into a monkey?
not to say that someone went, ripped Oliver out of his body and replaced him with Stephan Salvatore
Fairly good premiere, but not awesome for me personally...
Things I liked... - Roy was full on fun in hero-mode! - As much as I like Sarah and her as Black Canary I will not necessarily miss her honestly. I watch the show for the main cast and story and she had her part. It's over and I'm okay with it. - Island flashbacks be gone! Now we are on Hong Kong time!
The things that bothered me a bit.... - Not a fan of Oliver's mindset so far this season. The on and off with Felicity is annoying enough, but thinking Diggle out of the field keeps him safe is inaccurate and annoying as well. - I am already over Quentin wanting to stay in the field. I'm done. No more "Cough.-Cough-pill-popping" He needs to accept that he is an indoor cat now! Please no more! - It sounds like nitpicking, but I really hate how when a hero puts on their mask they automatically have dark eyeliner and eye shadow on, but when said mask is removed the makeup goes with it! Now with both Arrow and Arsenal being masked I have to deal with it twice as much... Three times as much in this premiere due to Canary.....
not disagreeing that Sara had to eventually bite the dust but not like this. Not as a chaep twist to bring an element into an episode that completely MISSED said element (mystery and actual consequence)
This was (minus Saras death) the most inconsequetual episode of Arrow i've ever seen. Felicity gets blown up? She's fine. Oliver and Diggle fight? Oliver was right of course.
I actually agree with you, personally I like Sara a lot more than Laurel. But I don't think is about liking her as much as it is about believing her motivations to become a hero and fulfilling her sister's footsteps.
Team Arrows interactions bothered me the most in this episode. Roy was pretty much degraded to "do monkey, dance monkey" (poor Roy will from this day always be a monkey in my book) without many lines. Oliver resenting Diggle and ultimately being RIGHT? Dafuq? Dig had a fantastic point! And yeah, the Oliver Felicity dingle-dangle took a LOT of screentime that was needed in other places
I thought the Olicity season were kinda forced. I didn't like them. I actually like Ray Palmer though. I also liked Diggle and his little story. Roy didn't really talk but he was okay. Peter Stormatre was extremely underused. Didn't know anything about him. Such a one note villain. I feel like the show depended too much on the shocking ending to compensate for a boring episode.
....I wish they killed Laurel instead :p But that's just me. I loved Sara. I thought she had great potential because she's so complex with a rich background.
Unfortunately for TV shows, liking a main/lead character is a must lol. And something tells me that even though Sara is dead, people are always going to compare Laurel to Sara.
yeah Teem Arrow's interactions were over shadowed by Oliver/Felicity interaction. Roy just did whatever the heck Oliver said. Why? (Maybe they'll explain this when the Thea issue comes up) Oliver was right about pushing Diggle away as soon as the baby arrived. . What? Could you develop that more
And the way Felicity was written in this episode I wanter her to end up dead in the restaurant (where is the quirky, fun loving techie gone? Replaced by "ooohh Oliver, I...don't know...wether I can love you"-Elena F. Gilbert)
We never get what we want, I do hope that this episode was a one off in style
I enjoyed the pacing of this episode. It's kind of nice to have a little breather before the action is ratched up. This show can make me a little tense watching it sometimes with its dark turns. Roy is not the only one with impressive new moves. Oliver had some tricks of his own. Very nice stunt work performed for both of these characters.
I'm going on record and make a controversial statement. I love Brandon Routh. I loved his performance as Superman. I may be the only person on the planet who thinks this ... but there it is and I'm not sorry. :) I'm excited to see him on Arrow and look forward to what Brandon can bring to Ray Palmer.
Actually there's a article on TV Line saying that "who killed Sara" is going to be a mistery 'till half the season. So I don't think is Komod, since he's set to appear next episode.
I'll go with great. In general it was a good episode and I wanna see more.
I absolutely loved Roy, they seem to be going in a very good direction with him and his arc doesn't seem like it's going to stall the progression of the show which I felt it has a couple of times. His outfit is also pretty awesome and Oliver should be jealous. Ray Palmer was fantastic and no doubt will be a great addition to the show. I also really liked Diggle and Lance.
Undoubtedly upset at that ending but I understand and I'm not surprised. But where did the Olicity come from? I know it's a big thing and I know that they've been pushing towards it since early season one, but the show is totally different from the insane hype in the fandom - it felt rushed and it came out of nowhere. Honestly didn't expect that and I feel it was pointless.
I didn't mind Red-Monkey at all honestly. Roy has had Parkour type moves since we first encountered him. We've seen him leap over fences by bounce-stepping off walls, use walls to lounge at attacker etc... His moves in the episode did not seem like too much of a stretch for me I guess.
I will agree though, he did not have much in the way of dialog! No real loss to me though since Colton Haynes is not necessarily a great actor... Just saying...
Also agree on too much of a dynamic shift within Team Arrow.
The thing about Dig-Oliver was more that Diggle wanted to help and had a point with being the reason that he was still alive. I get Olivers pov but in the end it was a decision that should have been made by Dig, not for Dig.
As for Felicity Oliver, we knew it was coming and I was prepared but there a lot, for my taste way too much. I could have actually dealt with what I thought we'd get but this was too overblown for me, no pun intended. BUT I do hope that the romance factor isn't replaced with the drama factor now that she pushed away. I did like the little romantic interactions in the past few seasons but this was just waaaayy...
Ugh, I am glad they fixed it in the last minute, because it wasn't a good episode at all. Felicity and Oliver are really forced and I couldn't even recognize Oliver in his date. That kiss? People shouldn't have to wait two seasons to see something so weird. But I can say I am excited to see what Sara's death can bring to the show and Oliver.
Yeah I don't mind Ollie and Felicity and their interactions usually. But this episode came out of no where with the "love" and everything. IT was too forced.
I still think that he deliver lines passably.. I don't think KAtie Cassidy is the best actor but they give her a bunch of dialogue. His lack of dialogue was noticeably weird. They should have had him speak more.
So Sara is a plot device that dies to push the other characters, because the writers are too hack to figure out a way to make both Sara and Laurel work. Yup, fuck this show.
It just bothers me. They had such an interesting dynamic in earlier episodes but the fan pressure made them cave in and I've lost all interest. It doesn't feel real.
This ship had sailed with Laurel a long time ago. It's going to be hard for viewers to really care for her. But with Sara around we would also ask "why do we need Laurel running in leathers when we have Sara?"
That was an awesome premiere and a perfect way to open up the new season. Although my worst nightmare came true, I knew in some way, it was coming.
I had a feeling there was a storm coming and boy was it huge! That final scene was still gut punching and made me yell at the screen at the top of my lungs. Goodbye, Sara Lance/Caity Lotz. I'll miss you very much. Next weeks episode is going to give us more information on what led up to her coming to Starling City and ultimately, her death. And it looks like with this major death, Laurel is on her way for a big trajectory for her character. I hope she can handle it. The emotional repercussions from this is going to be huge and I'm so nervous to see everyone finding out. Now, I'm wondering who killed her. Was it Ra's al Ghul? Nahh, that seems too obvious. Can't wait to find out who did.
Now for the rest of the episode, I liked Ray Palmer. He made snarky comments and was pretty hilarious. I, for one, am excited to see more of him. The action scenes were once again, phenomenal and they continue to blow me away. That fight on the rooftop of the stadium should be considered as one of the best fight scenes of any TV show ever. Phenomenal. Also, I like that Oliver called Roy his partner during the mission. That was sweet.
One thing I'm kinda upset about is how they ridiculously underutilized Peter Stormare. They wasted his character and that is a crime. I would have liked to see him recur throughout the season but oh well.
Diggle with a new baby is a major change for his character and I can't wait to see how he handles the daddy role this season. I'm sure it will be great/so damn cute.
Oh I do not disagree that Roy's lack of dialog was odd and hard to ignore... (Agreed on KC's ability as well).
I guess I chalked it up to it being a premiere and them needing a lot of time to recap the off time as well as set up the new season. I think everything would have worked much better if it was a 2-part premiere. They would have had more time for each character, more time for the COTW Vertigo 2.0, and with more time given to Sara her death would not have felt as cheap.
Yep..it really felt rushed in this especific episode, and this whole Oliver speech about "I can't be happy..danger follows me" is getting old real quickly
Yeah, not sure Wildcat is even a match for the Dark Archer, still I'm not even sure it was him.
Komodo would just make sense due to appearing next week. Why would Merlyn kill Sara? Ra`s already wants Merlyn dead, killing her wouldn't benefit him since it would drive the LoA back to Starling.
Very true. I was sort of hoping Laurel and Sara to run off into the sunset. Sara would train Laurel, they would meet up with Helena somewhere and kick butt. Maybe go to Seattle or something.
I KNOW, RIGHT? But we must not go down that path! If tonight's episode taught us something is that she's not going anywhere. Let's just rejoice on the fact that LL is going to be Black Canary and expect that really young Wildcat to teach her some amazing moves that are going to make us forget all the things we dislike about her.
pretty good start to the season... liked some of the changes: the Arrow's collapsible bow, and the team performing like a well oiled machine, and seeing Sara again.... at least until the ending (I'm guessing that is the grand entrance for Rha's Al Ghul?) and I enjoyed the Ray Palmer character somewhat and am looking forward to seeing what he will bring to the show. Somewhat disappointed in Oliver's "tragic hero wants to shoulder all risk/responsibility" complex that feels all too overdone/familiar and an easy excuse to write off the romance/having Digg out in the field as an asset, but I'm sure that theme will be danced around all season. Peter S always makes for a great villain, but it barely felt like he was onscreen at all... not sure what to make out of the HK flashbacks yet...
Ok, ummmm, if anyone's waiting for MY comment, it's waiting to be approved. But i warn you. it's long. Now i'm gonna go watch the episode again, and again, and again, and once more.
Reading Marc Guggenheim's post show interview, I think she's going to be very, very angry and devastated. They've killed Sara, they better not kill Nyssa too. We need a kick ass female.
I am not a fan of Felicity and Oliver together but even I can feel for those that are when the writers dangle the romance in their faces. the entire episode was a build up to it then it just falls flat and dies.
sideline: the writers kill people just as fast as they reveal Oliver's secret to everyone... I find it very strange.
For me I LOVED THE PREMIERE...I really dont like Ollie and Felicity i thought it was forced and unnessecary.. I was pretty pissed about Sara (i wasnt a huge fan of her character/actress) but I didnt want her to die.. I dont get all the Laurel haters...shes may not be the best actress but shes pretty good in her role..and I really hope She ends up with Ollie...Solid premiere cant wait for next week!!
I am a poet, you don't know it. LOL. no seriously, I do write poetry. Well i'm a vampire, i feed off everything. Nah, but TBH, i think there's some things in there, that you'll like, I mean pfft, how could you not? it's me, Hellooo. Hahaha, and some things you won't. But i'm okay with that b/c......idc. Hahahahahah we don't always see eye to eye. But i may surprise you, we'll see.
Such mixed feelings about this episode. Okay going to start off with the highlights...
-Brandon Rouths new character. Man he's entertaining... looking forward to seeing more of him around -Seeing Oliver battle with himself. (Even though it felt rushed) -The Sarah cliffhanger at the end -The Hong Kong flashbacks seem promising too
Downers....
-EVERYTHING seemed rushed. I mean... diggle just had a kid and we saw the whole thing go down in two seconds... - I wanted to know more about how Roy got to that skill level he is now. All of a sudden he's all badass... - Can't believe I'm going to say this but there was too much Olicity! Before you jump on me guys I'm actually an Olicity shipper and I walked away from the episode feeling like the entire thing was crammed down my throat. It's like they were trying to fit a whole seasons worth of Olicity arc in that one episode. Not cool
I'm not sure how I feel about this episode, it was good, I suppose, but I expected more. Olicity felt forced, which proved once again that Arrow cannot pull romance off; I really liked Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer; I loved that in the end Dig saw Oliver was right, although I don't know how long his new status will last; Paul Blackthorne was his usual self, even with what Little he had to work with; Laurel was ok, I always enjoy her interactions with her family; and Sara, TBH I thought she waas going to die next episode so the fact that she died in this one managed to surprise me, but I still wish they'd killed her last season instead of fearing the fan reaction and putting it off only to kill her now. Now Oliver, there really isn't much to say, nothing new really happened, I mean he already went through this at the end of season one, except with a different girl. And I'm betting now that he gets that guy's family killed, that's what he was going to tell Felicity at the restaurant, hence the not getting close to anyone because they only get hurt. So in short, not really a fan of the episode. The first half, with the exception of one or two scenes, was rather aweful, by he end it got a bit better, but I've come to expect more from Arrow. Hopefully now that they got THAT out of the way, we can go back to gol old Arrow, instead of this new BatB hybrid we got today (no offence intended to BatB fans)
Good! it wasn't just me! That kiss was akward and weird, I didn't feel it at all. The idea of Olicity is by far more attractive than the reality of it.
Arrow can't write romance, as they proved on several ocations, so it was to be expected that idea of Olicity would be much more attractive that their reality could ever aspire to be. It's a fact, they should just stick to writting action and stir as far away from romance as posible, the only nice relationship they wrote was Laurel/Tommy.
Honestly, I think the kiss was supposed to be weird. It was not pretty or sexy, it was purely the glimpse of something that cannot be. I'm not saying Olicity is perfect, I'm personally not a shipper, but I do think it is a pair with potential. However, not to worry, it has been pretty clear for a long time that the writers have every intention of keeping the relationship platonic.
"It's like they were trying to fit a whole seasons worth of Olicity arc in that one episode. Not cool" This is exactly how I felt about Olicity's scene. They felt so forced.
Hey! Enough with the attitude. I don't like Laurel, so what? I have my opinion, just like you do. I don't go bashing your opinion around. I expect at least a modicum of respect on this site.
And truly, you do yourself a disservice by making such a childish comment. It doesn't do you any favors. Trust me.
I've taken a few hours to let it marinate, and this is what I've got: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! NOOOO!! You can't kill Sara!! I love Canary!! Maybe now Laurel is going to take up the mantle?
I liked that the were finally addressing Oliver and Felicity, but what? They get so close, and then yank it away? I'm not really a Oliver/Felicity shipper, but I feel like they might actually be good together. He can't keep saying "Maybe, when the time is right,"; Felicity was totally right in telling him that he clearly needs to be in or out.
Roy was freaking awesome. He really had some moves, particularly in the opening sequence!
I liked the introduction of Palmer. It's going to be fun having Brandon Routh on the show.
I feel like Peter Stormare could have been used better. I know that a lot was going on in the episode, but to have him be the big bad in the episode and then use so little of him was almost criminal. The Blacklist has done a great job in using him as a villain. I realize that there it has been over several episodes, but he has been used just the right amount in that show.
Well, we know why this episode was rightly called "The Calm" now. Lol, geez…that ending was intense! I guess this continues Laurel's turn into becoming the Black Canary, especially that one frame of Sara's domino mask and man is Komodo so going to get it!
Also, kudos to the producers for FINALLY making a sidekick that is freaking awesome.
Yeah, but I don't really think it was supposed to be weird. I think it's just Stephen. I don't think we ever had a nice kiss on Arrow. Maybe he isn't good for romantic stuff. I think it was supposed to be an emotional kiss and I am not against Olicity. I actually was expecting something big, but all the "Don't ask me to say I don't love you" and that kiss... Terrible.
I gave it "good" although it could have also been "ok". Since the shows early days I have felt "they CANT just keep stepping it up to another level...this is crazy" but they did... for more or less 2 seasons. Tonight, maybe it was a 1 off so-so episode, or maybe they finally hit that wall?
If I had to rate all the Arrow episodes of all time this would go somewhere in the middle to bottom third. BUT, the show has been great for so long I will give it a bit of time to see if this episode was a set up for some things befor eI pan it thoroughly.
One positive I think the episode might bring is Ras al Ghul finally. So it wasn't completely dreadful for that alone, and Brandon Routh & Peter Stormare were exceptional in it. Hope to see more of both of them. Some good fight scenes.
Hey! Felicity and Oliver look cute together, that's nice. Sadly it got all thrown away with the "I can't be with you" spiel. *groan* This kind of romantic tension is so cliche it pains me. Now we are in for a season of distant jealousy for each others unavoidable new love interests!! yay
THIS is the reason why it was a mistake making Olicity happen, because you can't have Oliver be happy, this is why it was a mistake pandering to the hardcore shippers. so much Urgh. Honestly, this show doesn't need, neither it can handle, romance.
-Olicity kiss: check -Felicity telling Oliver to stop stringing her along & walking away from him: check -Sara (aka Lispy McColigen Lips) getting filled with arrows & doing an epic face plant to her dupstery grave: check
Review: so much awesome! Its like the writers had my check list of things I wanted to see happen & gave me christmas early! Ahahahaha seriously the biggest evil grin in the world is living on my face! The only thing that was missing was Laurel drinking &/or ODing her way into the cemetery plot right next to her sister!
Loved the episode!!! Hate the writers for dangling Olicity in front of us just for the kill it before it really begins!!!! Oliver better stay away from Laurel!!!!! Did not expect Sara's death - I liked her so much, and for her to die like this is just so wrong!!! Laurel's death wouldn't make much difference but Sara's...!!!! This season looks great, can't wait till next episode!!!
mte about the maseo's son dying bc it was so blatantly obvious the second he told oliver about wallers threat. he's gonna bond with the kid while thinking about what life would have been like his baby mama didn't "miscarry." also may be oliver's son being introduced in s4 will also involve maseo coming to starling for revenge. i suppose this season will end with oliver merging oliver/arrow to become green arrow therefore he could have it all with felicity & then be a father to his now alive son only to have both die in the s4 finale. i mean the show is set for 5 seasons right?
Like I said. She was growing on me, I liked her scenes with Sara and Quentin because it showed a warmth in Laurel we've never genuinely seen before. But then Sara had to die in order to further Laurel's journey. They turned this strong, confident, complex character and reduced her to a plot device for Laurel. And that's what's keeping me from liking her. Not because I hate Laurel for the sake of hating Laurel. But because of what happened with Sara and how unnecessary that was.
Arrow is so much rushed in every level. They learn to many people Oliver's secret in 2 seasons,he hooked up and he loved 3 women in 2 seasons and now he is in love with Felicity that make them 4.
Not really since any possible relationship is dead for now. Even then Arrow will never just be about a relationship, the creators have made this clear. But you seem to be ignoring the fact that season 1 had a good deal of romance.
I must be in the minority because I liked the whole episode from beginning to end; The action was through the roof superb and the fight sequences where great as always, I can't seem to get enough of them. The Olicity stuff was cute as always, Oliver and Felicity are great together. However the kiss was bitter sweet because he's so afraid of losing such a good thing that he's hesitant, which made Felicity pull back this time. So yeah Olicty nice, cute and bitter sweet. Team Arrow has expanded however there's still room to grow. The original trio are great as always and yet Roy showed that he stepped up and fit in nicely. This new quartet is going to be a joy to watch continue to work and grow. Baby Diggle was adorable, daddy Diggle was adorable. Just hope he isn't sidelined too much because of it. Loved caption Lance and how he disbanded the vigilante task force and works with the Arrow now. Pretty much an honorary Team Arrow member. Look forward to more of that. Laurel wasn't quite so annoying this time, which was great. I like how she helps from the outside like her dad. I was afraid she was going to take over the lair but she's not so that's great. another honorary team member. Sara I figured was going to die at some point this season to help push Laurel to become Black Canary (because they are dead set on it) however I didn't expect it to be so soon. However I'm intrigued to see if this helps make Laurel more interesting. Ray as I guessed is going to be a pain in the backside. The intro of him at the store was okay, he wasn't bad there. At QC he was a bit more cocky and annoying. And at the hospital he was just down right being a pushy creep. Did he even need to be there? I think not. I know I'm going to get real tired of him real fast. Going after Felicity all season long is no way to win any points in my book. The only real quip I have is that it should have been 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours instead of just 1 hour as they had 5 months to cover in such a short time that it felt a bit rushed which could contribute to some things feeling a bit forced. But all in all a pretty great start to the new season.
Wow that is annoying. I may not like Laurel a lot (but so far I like her this season) but I'm pumped for her becoming BC and this episode only increased that.
I don't think he was in love with all them. Hell I'm not sure he loved them at all, cared for yes but not sure love. I think he was in love with the idea of Laurel and full of guilt for what he did pre-island that it clouded his judgment. However I think he fell out of love with her along time ago. Helena was more a pet project, someone he thought he could try and save but didn't want to be saved. Plus he realized that at the time he was no better so really had no room to talk. McKenna he generally cared for but also used for information plus she ran the anti-vigilantly taskforce so it was doomed from the start. But never the less she was the first he really tried with. Sara he also generally cared for but it was more a comfort and safe thing. Nether wanted a real serious commitment plus it was easy because they both went through the same thing on the Island and all that. So with that bond, it made it a logic chose of lover. Felicity on the other hand is the only one he's actually in love with and it scars him shitless. He wants a relationship with her yet at the same time he doesn't want one because he doesn't want to loose her. It's not that he thinks he doesn't deserve happiness per say its just every time he tries something bad tends to happen (check in point the missile at dinner) so he figure it's best not to try so hard and keep her at a little bit of a distance.
Arrow's need to cram too much into one episode is annoying me. Take some time for stories to develop. Its not always good to be fast paced. That being said I liked the episode.
Ray Palmer - Loved him till now. I was sceptical before. Its good to be proven wrong. But they need to give him a backstory soon. Quentin Lance - Already tired of him overdoing things and pill popping. Is it necessary to have one character dependent on pills or alcohol every season. Diggle - Happy for him but what does it mean for his future in the team? Vertigo - If only they had taken some time to build him up. Why??? Olicity - It was good. But too much happened in one episode. If all these happened in a span of two or three episodes I would have loved it more. Loved Felicity walking away. Oliver's angst is just plain annoying now. Felicity - Her interactions with Palmer was really good. I am glad she got another character to bounce off with. Roy - Loved his new role but why didn't he have anything to say in this episode? where is the banter and quips? Laurel - I love her relationship with Quentin. So will she keep Sara's death from Quentin now. HongKong Flashbacks - I am so excited about this. Sara/Ra's Al Ghul - Why???? I am sad. But I can understand this will open up a lot of new stories. Laurel got a great motivation to become BC. This was the only way to go for furthering Laurel's story line. But they SHOULD have killed Sara off last season. This is simply fan baiting. Bringing Caity to SDCC and all those interviews made us believe she has a long story arc this season. If her death was the last scene in S2 finale it would have been wonderful. But then they won't be able to do time jump.
Over all loved the episode. A great start to the season. I hope they pace themselves better in the future.
NOOO! The writers made another huge mistake! First Tommy, then Moira and now Sara! They keep killing off the wrong characters. I was hoping Laurel would die but now we're gonna have to watch her pretending to be Sara. This is so annyoing.
Overall, the premiere was just good. They tried to have too much into one episode which causes some storylines to feel rushed. It was clearly just a set-up episode. I felt the same way about the season 2 premiere.
Awesome! I'm shocked but it was awesome. A series premier like you want it to be. They changed everything we know and now it's storming after the calm. I hoped they wouldn't kill Sara, maybe make her paraplegic but don't kill her. Yes it was a lot Olicity centric but it was more about, Who is he really?
I still can't believe they killed her off in first episode. She had so much potential. Once again all my predictions for this show is wrong. I predicted Sara going rogue. Laurel didn't annoy me this episode. Oliver and his angst did. If Laurel is all mission oriented and avenging angel for her sister I think we will like her. She won't take the BC mantle until the revenge thing is done. Still disappointed as a Sara fan though.
awesome. and did tv critics saw this ending in their pre air dvd?? totally didnt see this sara thing coming. i think capt lance is gonna be the nxt scape goat in season 3. with Ras al ghul coming to arrow heads gonna roll. i liked ray palmer char .
- after Laurel brings a still alive but seriously injured Sara to the lair she slowly 'dies' ( after flashbacks reveal her time away from Starling City the last five months ) and is buried in the episodes final moments.
- it is then revealed via a flashback that Ra's al Ghul attacked Sara with arrows soaked in the restorative chemical pools known as Lazarus Pits / Fountain of Essence as part of a sinister plan for the Arrow or Nyssa digs up Sara and 'heals' her with the restorative chemical. - Sara is whisked away to heal but gets amnesia as a side effect of going temporarily mad from exposure to the Lazarus Pits as well is confined to a wheelchair as she wasn't completely healed . Nyssa creates the alias of Barbara Gordon for her and once she is on her way to a safe and normal life away from all the worlds evil Nyssa leaves her to be watched over and guide by a trusted 'friend'. Sara Lance becomes a series regular on the Arrow spin-off The Flash / The Suicide Squad / Birds of Prey/ her own show as 'Barbara Gordon aka 'Oracle'
I agree with everything except the little bit with Sara. I always felt he did love Sara, and could've been in love with her, if more given the chance. He did want to commit to her, (he wanted to live with her, get their own apartment), and SHE pushed him away. B/c she felt she wasn't right for him. That's how iI saw it. But he is so in love with Felicity. (That happened at a natural pace I might add) it's really bittersweet. (Oh my feels tonight).
I think so, Katrina was seen filming with Katie and Paul, so Nyssa has a scene with the (remaining) Lances, probably to figure out who killed Sara and make them pay.
Even as a non-shipper I thought they always had chemistry from the first time they met. Mostly on her side at first, but it definitely grew to be something deeper for both parties. I'm not saying they are destined to be together or anything, but their coming together has been set up since early in the series and building to the point of inevitability most of last year. I don't see how anyone says they date or feelings came out of nowhere!
i enjoyed it. It looks like there is an arrow on the show, not Malcom Merlin. That voice sounded like Oliver but I know he wouldn't kill Sarah so someone is looking to cause chaos by impersonating Oliver and killing people. Interesting.
I’m liking Roy’s new wardrobe..the red leather is working.
Ah, the life one leads that allows them to recognize an RPG by the sound.
What the heck were those guys tracking Oliver with? How did they get it planted on him? I'm gonna have to rewatch that scene.
I am in HATE with Ray Palmer!!! Star City. ewwww
I am so glad they’ve never tried to convince me that Oliver is a genius…cause he’s a dummy for pushing everyone away. Glad he started wising up.
I take it that was our introduction to Ra's al Ghul? Unexpected.
I'm still not liking Felicity and Oliver as a couple. They read (and work better, to me) as best friends. One of my reasons is that I think Oliver needs someone he can tell the stuff he wouldn't share with a girlfriends. The baby is adorable. Glad she was born before the end of the ep.
I didn't have any hate for the episode but I think it did suffer from the writers putting more emphasis on updating us on where the characters are after 5 months. Because of this the crime story got the short shrift. A waste of Peter Stormare's talents IMHO. Maybe, if we're lucky, he'll break out of jail.
TBH, I didn't start to ship them til s1 ep15, I knew she was attracted to him and it was fun and cute, but once I saw that he found her attractive (in the gold dress) I said oh wow. Then later with the "I imagined you saying that under different circumstances" episodes later, for me, that's when it stuck. And I really watched it develop from his side. Now as a shipper (in general) I've never shipped, nor will I ever ship a couple for "endgame" reasons, idc about that. I see a couple I like, I fall in love with them, I stick with them, for good or for bad, thick and through. W/e happens at the end of the series happens. TBH I hate that word "endgame, endgame endgame" seriously whoever made up that word, needs to suffer.
Anyways...yessss! I just don't understand that. They've been building since season 1 (the tension was always there) and how fans can still say "it's out of nowhere is beyond me. I mean you don't like thecouple fine. But that's on a whole other level of denial. You'd have to be deaf, dumb, and blind not to notice. Also this is FIVE months ahead, a lot has happened in that time (can't wait for those flashbacks from everyone's POV) and I think once we get those scenes then maybe the "out of nowhere fans" could possibly get a little closure. I think that's as far as it could go. They could still hate them, but they'd have closure.
Thank you for commenting. I really liked your response, and it was refreshing.
The episode could have been good...but it was too overcrowded with ideas. Oliver having no money at all is still stupid. That is not how bankruptcy works...the company goes bankrupt, the owners go, at the very worst, from multi-millionaires to standard millionaires The whole thing annoys me to no end. Well, at the very least they made clear that Felicity could secure a better job if she wanted. so....what exactly was the point of shooting Quentin last episode, showing him healthy again, just to put him into the hospital immediately???????? Or starting a relationship just to break it up again the very same episode? And they better stuff Sarah into the Pit of resurrection as soon as possible. If she dies like this, it is just an insult to the character. (plus, worst "oh good someone I love just died" acting ever). Honestly what is that with the show? All the characters I like are either killed off or constantly side-lined, with the exception of Felicity, whose only current arc revolves around the question if she should hook up with Oliver or not. I think the question if she should blew her career for the Arrow's sake is a way better question to ask.
That was a great episode..until the moment Sara was killed. I am really disappointed that Sara is dead especially since that means there won't be more Nyssa and Sara.
I can see that, I was thinking more when they first hooked up down in the Arrow Cave. It was more out of pain and wanting comfort. But later he could have developed feelings for her but nothing near what he feels for Felicity.
You hit the nail on the head, it has been 5 months and who knows what happened. That's also why it felt a little cramped and rushed, but I didn't mind.
I don't mind the word 'endgame' however I do get sick of hearing 'comic book canon' because to me there is really no such thing as it keeps changing. I mean yeah back in the day the comics say one thing however the newer ones say something else so which would you go with then? Makes no sense. I also get sick of the 'brother/sister' analogy for Oliver and Felicity. They are so far from brother/sister that it makes that sound twisted and sick. I mean really what normal brother and sister look at each other or touch each other the way they do? none that's how many.
Its like they are choking us with olicity,I'm not an olicity shipper but I don't mind however Oliver gets with but this was just stuffing more foodin our stomach than we can digest in 2 seasons you had nothing just a little flifting and then you directly jump to love at least take 2-3 episodes for it, but I guess they had to kill Sara so just shoved it in our throats There was too much going on to process anything Sara dies, Roy is suddenly a complete badass? Anyway I hope the next episode is better and there is balance in the show.
This Episode was Amazing. I enjoyed. I don't care about people who think Sara's death was a bad choice. we always knew the real BC is Laurel Lance so i'm excited to see how's her relationship with Ted Grant.
Agree with you. They are killing off every one of my favorite characters. Sara's two previous deaths were more dramatic and impactful than this one. If Sara comes back twisted from Lazarus pit I would be a little bit appeased. I am worried about Diggle and what is with Arrow and stuffing too much into one episode. Oliver/Felicity relationship scenes should have been spread out in atleast three episodes. Digg's reaction to baby should have been explored more. Sara and Vertigo deserved more scenes. Roy deserved at least one good line. I am already annoyed by Quentin's pill popping. They need to slow their pace.
You know...I would have never thought that I would ever say this one year ago, but I look way more forward to the next episode of Agents of Shield. No contrived Love triangles. No endless repetition of the same brooding nonsense again and again. Actual character development, of characters which are at least not utterly annoying and are even starting to be interesting, and who all have their own storylines. No contrived drama and characters who are actually talk to each other, and when they keep things from each other, than for reasons which are understandable. Villains which get a proper built up instead of thrown into an episode just to get killed off again immediately. And characters of every age, with different cultural backgrounds. I am not sure if I should watch next week. I guess I should since I intend to give The Flash a chance, but I am so tired of this nonsense.
I totally agree with you, I think Ray is going to be a pain in the ass. I didn't like all the duplicity. I really hope that Felicity doesn't change her mind later on and accept his job offer (although I would like to see how Oliver would handle it). I wonder how long the writers are going to make us wait before Oliver gets his company back because Oliver Queen/Green Arrow as poor just don't go. And I think this story line is getting a little bit old. We had the fact that he had to share the company with Isabel for the whole of season 2 I had hoped that they would of finally put this to bed at the beginning of this season.
When they said in the interviews they learned their mistakes and weaknesses from season 2, I hoped for a better season 3. Now I see they have learned all the wrong things. Arrow is now all flash and bang. None of the characters get to develop at all. I will watch this because I am still invested in these characters until I will loose interest. AoS is so good this season. I did not like any characters last season. I loathed Skye. But now I am so looking forward to every new episode. All the internet gushing for season 2 has made these creatives air headed.
I so agree with you, a good ending def does not make up for a flat episode. I kept getting bored and I think a lot of that is because of the romance! Can't they just keep that out. Actions scenes were fine though and I'm sad to see Sara go ... I really liked her and I wanted to know more about how she ended up with the league of assassins!
Please don't let the love fern die! hahahahahhahaahha I loved all the Olicity. I loved that Dig was the one who called Oliver on his bullshit, I loved that they were really confortable around each other, I loved that he ziplined his way to the date, O loved that she babbled about him being shirtless all the time, that was priceless! And the red pen of love? SO CUTE IT HURTS. The scene at the hospital was painfully great. Despite being really cliche for superheroes to keep away from the people they care about I think is understandable for him to do that. And Felicity asking him to let her go? Brutal. I think Ray was alright but got a little bit of a creepy vibe from him. IDK... let's see.
So, you only like action, and no character development? I agree that for a season opener it was kind of weak, but cannot have season finales every episode.
It set the plot for the season: mystery assasin, hong kong, olicity and diggle. And that's it. Some episodes have to be like that if you want a rich character-continuity series, and not the A-team.
If it's not Komodo then how about this. It's Katana/Tatsu Yamashiro taking her venegance for something Sarah did while with the League.....oh, such as killing her husband.
Here we go again with wanting Felicity dead, if you don't like it turn off you TV I bet you that if she wasn't on the show it would have not lasted that long. She's a strong female character that you don't see often on TV even if its 2014. SHE'S THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO THE ARROW & THE WRITERS, EX PRODUCERS EVEN THE ACTORS KNOW.
It was really good! And that end, I was totally surprised by it. I will miss Sara for sure. But her exit was kind of logic. She was not the Black Canary but only the Canary. Her death is going to have a lot of consequences on Laurel, Oliver, Felicity and the others. Poor Lance Family. Now, I understand why the new Count was only here for one episode. It makes sense now. The big question is WHO KILLED HER? Ra's al Ghul or someone else....
About the rest of the episode: - Roy being in the Arrow team was nice. Of course, we didn't see a lot of because it just started. I love his suit. Besides, he has some really good moves. - How can't we hate Ray Palmer?! I adore Olicity but Brandon Routh was really good. His character is charming, funny... He is like a male version of Felicity. I like his attitude with her. - Daddy Diggle: It was nice to see him terrified by the fact of being a father. Usually, he is very confident. And I wonder if he won't be on the field for good. - Captain Lance: I was scared for him because he didn't look good in the sneak peek. He is a cop and he doesn't love to be sick again. - Felicity: Okay, I am a 100% Olicity shipper but I am glad that Felicity stayed strong in the hospital scene. We had the date and the kiss but we are in Arrow, happy times don't last in the show. She is going to have others options with Ray and Barry, which will be interesting to see. And her relationship with Oliver is going to be complicated, as I expected. - Oliver: Poor man, always dealing with issues. He was so happy at the begining of the episode. He smiled more during this episode than during S1+S2! Now, he has to deal with the fact of being Oliver Queen or the Arrow. The Hong-Kong flashbacks were interesting. We saw an introduction of that. Can,'t wait to see what happened!
TO SUM UP: Great episode! The cliffhanger will have many consequences on the characters! Nice introduction of Ray Palmer and Hong-Kong. Arrow is the best show on the CW right now.
Thanks for your comment. I share a lot of points with you... I wasn't really on the hype train and I personally see this episode as solid but with some points which definitely could be improved. Additionally, although I've been an Olicity fan from basically the start, I tend to think Oliver's having a bit too many love interests in too short time (even though there was a 5 months jump). I'd be happy with a season not doing another love interest and focussing on other things instead. Also, we'll have to see where this goes. The fight of "Who am I? Oliver Queen or The Arrow?" has been going on for a while, basically, so I guess they'll have to upgrade it a little to make a foundation for the season.
Wow, yeahhhh I really wasn't talking about their reunion at home at all. But if that's what you were referring to then, he did have feelings for her, sure they were young, but as they struggled on the island it grew To more mature level. When she returned, they actually waited a decent amount before sleeping together, and it wasn't even his idea, it was hers. I wasn't even mad about that. Understood that completely. And really? = / there's no comparison...ever, with anyone. ; )
Siblings? I haven't heard that ridiculous comment in a very long time, so yeah I have no comment. I really do just ignore those bullshit remarks. Now if they refer to Diggs and her, that's one thing. The other is just LOL laughable.
I voted ok. I felt that the whole episode was too rushed. I don´t mind Oliver and Felicity together, but there was too much of that in this episode. Felicity seemed stronger, and I didn´t really like it. Sara.....I dunno, it´s ok with me I guess, but it also felt rushed, I wish there had been more of a setup. Maybe it will turn Laurel into The Black Canary?
That babble on him being shirtless was hilarious, AND idk if anyone noticed or not (can't believe I didn't write it last night but I think I was too pissed) but this was the first episode (since the episode started) that Oliver did NOT have a shirtless scene!
I think that was my favorite part through the whole episode, him telling her how he felt, I was completely smitten when he was talking, b/c for Oliver, that was reallyyy hard for him to do and he didn't even get to finish! (I'm okay sorry, snapped. a little there) but that "It was red" that was my favorite line. That was pure gold. And her face, OMG. Adorable. "The red pen of love"? CTFU,Haha Haha Haha Hahahahaha, don't EVER say that to me again. LOL..sinceriously! Don't make it that cheesy. LOL.....btw also loved the way he made it to the date as well, that was so much fun to watch, the zipling, the transformation, the right on time. I too really enjoyed that. And iI loveee his new bow!!
I love when a man holds a woman's face with their palms, omg, that's deep for me, and he kept it there. Omg it was painful and beautiful at the same time. She was hurt, he was hurt, god he was so hurt,I felt so bad for him (b/c he truly felt happy since back from the island) and ugh! I just wanted to give her a hug. I'm so glad she walked away, b/c I did not want to look at her sad face any longer. And that line!! That line was Sooo powerful. That's the closest he could come with saying it w/o saying it, and it's okayyyyy! (For me anyways) That was a huge huge step for him, and I really felt his pain into thinking, she thought that. And had to nip that in the butt. Asap! While holding her face (touches chest).
To wait for so long for that moment, and to have it taken away just like that. (For now) I mean we knew it was coming, but still, to see it....sigh. The life of a shipper sucks. LOL...the day he does say it i'mI'm going to lose my shit. But I waited 3. Yrs for this episode in general, and their love/relationship is a slow burn, so I can wait for the L word. I do look forward to their future scenes now, (but not for next week, next week is for Sara) it'll be awkward and fun, and "god why can't these two just get together" moments. Hahaha
You know what iI want? I just want him to dance with her. I really do. I just want one slow dance, it's a simple request, and yet it's impossible to get. Smh again, the life of a shipper sucks. Lol....Ray...........I have to look at his smug face for 15 plus episodes. I'll do my best to see if I can like him, starting with the 3rd episode (next week will just be too hectic).
I was wondering all through out hiatus what would be Laurel's motivation to put on a mask and fight crime. If they did that at the beginning of season 2 I would have believed it. So it was in the back of my mind that either Quentin or Sara would bite the dust. Because nothing short will be believable as Laurel is such a stickler for rules and law. Sara was just recurring character and Laurel a regular. This was bound to happen.
I know all this but still I am terribly sad a character I loved died to further the journey one I despise.
Comparing Felicity to Elena mac... She said don't dangle the prospect of relationship in front of her and walked away because Oliver did not want to pursue a relationship. how is that "I don't know if can love you" thing. I didn't like the way Olicity was done this episode. They should have spread all of their scenes this episode in a span of 3 episodes. But I don't understand how you got that from the episode. Felicity was very confident this episode unlike previous seasons with regards to Oliver.
Tommy and Moira's death were fine by me (former was sad, latter made sense for the Slade arc and to affect Oliver). This just angers me. I KNEW it was coming too. Next up on Arrow: Laurel becoming the Canary. Fml.
This was really good. Until the end, which has completely lowered my expectations for the season. I had such high hopes and now we're going to get Laurel becoming the Canary.
I may be being a little over the top - the writing may be really good and KC might act it really well - but I can't see this Laurel arc being good.
A bit frustrated about the lack of development with Vertigo, though with Stormare's VERY irritating speech (stop-start then words jumbledtogether) I sorta didn't mind. But they do need to develop their villains more.
Quentin :( if he dies I might go cry in a cave for a while
I was alright with the Olicity scenes. I felt they worked. Oliver's on-off attitude to it maybe didn't so much though.
Very little for Roy beyond action, which was disappointing but I liked they showed his progression from over the 5 months.
Flashbacks set things up nicely. And I guess we know why Oliver hates Waller.
Daddy Diggle is awesome too.
Yeah, I really enjoyed this until the end. Now I'm just pissed off.
I feel like it would've been better if they left Diggle having his kid and Oliver breaking things off with Felicity for episode 2. I feel like it was too rushed. There could've been more banter between them before he asked her out, there could've been more signs to show that he loved her etc. But they didn't. I didn't like the pacing of Olicity, but the way their scenes were acted was just... pure perfection. They overcome bad writing, and that's not an easy thing to achieve (just look at past romances)
I cheered Felicity on for walking away. It was the right thing to do and it reinforces her strength and it made me love her more.
I don't know how I feel about Ray. I thought he was a bit overbearing? IDK if that's the right word. He just rubbed me the wrong way. I can't see a relationship between him and Felicity though, at least not at this point.
You know how I feel about Laurel :p (Oh how I wish I could be excited like you). I feel mostly cheated which kind of sucks.
I felt the same way about having Vertigo as the COTW in an episode with so much time spent elsewhere. It just seemed silly to have Stormare on the show for a few short scenes when any actor could have done that. Stormare should have had a multi-episode arc!
hated her acting, loved her moves. It's bittersweet to see her go as I warmed up to her over the summer. Still it's not a loss on the acting side. Manu Bennett and Susana Thompson leaving hurt the show more on that aspect. Not that John Barrowman would be oscar worthy but now the cast is literally only having 3 main characters played by really capable actors
The idea when they started the show was for Laurel to become Black Canary right? But they wasted her character. I liked the story arc that Sara had, and she was an overall a better and well rounded character. The story clicked better with her as Black Canary rather than Laurel. One of the problems that I had with how last season ended was that Sara had gone, and I was happy to see her in the promos. It's really sad to see her go, and a waste of a one of their better characters.
IMO they should have panned out Olicity over the first four or five episodes, Oliver asks for a date in ep 1, date goes wrong - episode 2, Oliver angst - episode 3, Felicity pushes him away -episode 4. I like when they have their small lovely interactions, that would have been a step up from that but still could've been fun for non-shippers like me.
Agreed on Sara, they should have killed her in the s2 finale. wether being Slade, Ra's, Komodo, Ubu or Merlyn doesen't matter. It would have set up a solid mystery for season 3
Oliver struggling to take control of Queen Consolidated because some new mystery individual shows up out of the blue to take over. Seems like a rehash of last year's story. I am sure they can come up with new challenges for Oliver to face with respect to managing his company.
That I agree. Oliver has issues. Felicity was not even critically injured like I was expecting. She didn't even have a scratch which was weird. Oliver's angst took a new level this episode. I am also unhappy of Digg's acceptance of Oliver's high handedness this episode.
Wow that's harsh. I have to disagree. Rickards is pretty good, Amell has really gotten comfortable playing Oliver and is quite good now. David Ramsey's always great. Blackthorne despite some accent problems is fantastic. Cassidy (whom I assume is your third, although she hasn't really gotten a chance to act incredibly well so far) is good when given the right material and Haynes and Holland are although flawed good at portraying anger enough.
the actors I love and consider capable but with some flaws are David, Katie and EBR
Colton and Stephen are the lower end,
Barrowman delivers fully as the moustache twirling baddie, Blackthorne is just great in every scene and Willa sells every emotional aspect of her character
David is good, he sadly is given one-sided material so I can't judge better, EBR is great in comedic scenes and has good timing but struggles with emotional material, once she delivers, then she doesen't. Katie is great with emotional scenes but on the flip side rarely goes 'fantastic' on us. She has a solid performance, nothing you write songs about though
Colton is sadly a chop of wood, love Roy dislike Coltons acting to the core. Kind of weird since he put on a better style of acting in the bloopers video. Colton should stay out of character and just be himself :P Stephen tries, I give him that. I love him as a person and he's a dedicated entertainer but he oh-so-obviously has heavy issues when carrying a emotional scene, the flexing beyond his eye muscles indicate his confusion what to do in such scenes
again: SEASON 1 ELENA aka. the object of interest.
S1 Elena was likable, yet the main focus of the mains. I view Elena as three entities: s1-2 Elena, the likable protagonist and s3-4 Elena, the dull and selfish idiot. Followed by s5-6 Elena, the emotional abuse victim
He was pretty much what Stefan was in TVDs first season, overly emotional and highly overbearing. But unlike Paul Wesley, Stephen really doesen't have the chops to deliver that scene.
It was a different character altogether we saw in Oliver last episode. Not the comic-GA and not the broody guy we know from the previous seasons. A angsty protagonist....not that I didn't need more reasons to dislike Oliver (love Amell though)
You know me, I won't be happy until the show is the way I would want it to be. A well balanced, gritty superhero drama with comedic elements and tiny romantic undertones.
Agreed Elena sucks ass now. Except Felicity isn't selfish, she is pretty selfless. She's cares about helping others, is clear about her feelings, doesn't waiver in them, actually contributes to taking down villains and the plot and has a defined personality unlike Elena now. Oh and she isn't pedestaled unlike Elena.
She gave herself up FOR her friends and was the one to dagger Elijah for the first time (who was a villain if I don't remember correctly...and I do). There was little to no selfishnes on her part back then.
NOW she is terrible though, I agree. I never went from loving a character to hating one so much. As much as I dislike Klaus as a character I still can like him for being that character (if that makes any sense, hate his actions, love his presence) but Elena just feels like an extention of Damons arm...
I disagree on the pedestaled part, Felicity is pretty much idealized as the geeky tech wonder girl. But that's fine with me.
Oh I love Willa. She is awesome. I disagree with Katie and Stephen. I would exchange their positions. But Katie still is on top of Colton. For me Stephen is way above than KC. I tone out in her emotional scenes. It always comes off over the top and melodramatic for me. To each their own I guess. I dislike Tom Cruise a lot and people like him.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
A good ending doesen't make up for all I feared this would be, this was EXACTLY what I was afraid this would become.
ReplyDeleteHold on, typing my thoughts
That last minute... I hate this show
ReplyDeleteI NEED XANAX. STAT.
omg what an ending!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeyond amazing. Sad about the end though. Saw it coming, but still pretty sad about it!
ReplyDeleteWHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An amazing premiere but I'm so shocked about the last few minutes.
ReplyDeleteThe ending was exactly what I did not want, especially with how it was acted out.
ReplyDeleteSO GOOD.
ReplyDeleteNOOO!!!! Sara!!! :( what a premiere and what a finale :(
ReplyDeleteI really liked it but I think they made a huge mistake and underestimated their audience with that last move. It didn't particularly bother me but I think I'm deeply in the minority.
ReplyDeleteDAMN IT NOOOO DAMN IT ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! NO NOT SARA DAMN IT AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHYYYYYYY GOD DAMN IT NOOOOO, is should've known laurel is the official black canary BUT DAMN IT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome premiere...so much happenned!!
ReplyDeleteNo but seriously. I think they made a huge mistake with what they did with Sara. HUGE. I honestly can't believe they built her up so much in the latter half of season 2 only to have her killed in the first episode. I truly didn't want Sara to be a plot device for Laurel. Unfortunately my fears have come true.
ReplyDeleteI knew it from the moment that i heard the title 'Sara' for the second episode! I saw it coming..but i'm still chocked!
ReplyDeleteThey could and SHOULD have killed her in the end of season 2, this was just a cheap way to actually make up for a lackluster episode. Cheap cliffhanger tbh. And I didn't care for Sara
ReplyDeleteHoly shit! I hate myself for being right about Sara and Komodo! Dammit i shouldn't write that...
ReplyDeleteThe action was AWESOME!
Holy shit that was an epic hour of television!!!
who voted awful must some trolls
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooooooooo Sara !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTo each their own. I think it was a good setup for things to come. Sara dying wasn't a cliffhanger. It was a plot twist I suppose. A plot twist everyone knew was coming which makes it all the more stupid.
ReplyDeleteThey shouldn't have killed Sara because there's so much she can do.
ReplyDeleteOn a happier note, Diggle has his little girl.
ReplyDeleteOverall: GREAT START
I can't believe they kill Sara off I understand that Laurel is going to be the Black Canary but they could've done it better it was good episode the ending I didn't like
ReplyDeleteyeah, dislike something and you HAVE to be a troll. Amirite? I didn't even vote though...
ReplyDeleteKomodo killed Sara, neither Merlyn or Ra's
ReplyDeletebut it was probably Ra's that ordered her death
No Death allows Laurel to become The Black Canary like in the comic
ReplyDeleteNo one would respect Laurel as Black Canary if Sara was still out there. So, even though I agree that they've spent a lot of time building her character, i do think her death was necessary to develop Laurel. I really like Sara but if we consider that she is a guest star and Laurel is a regular, there was no choice to make.
ReplyDeletegot to disagree there, the end actually was dark and had mystery to it. The rest of the episode felt pretty lifeless and written to appease a certain fanbase.
ReplyDeleteThe end was actually surprisingly far away from the...well...****fest we got in the first 40 minutes.
ReplyDeleteThings I liked...
- Collapsible bow, really? Ugh!
This is not what will make people like Laurel. Just sayin'. I honestly now expect to see a barrage of resentment towards her character now.
ReplyDeleteI sure sara hater is celebrating now...........
ReplyDeletenot disagreeing that Sara had to eventually bite the dust but not like this. Not as a chaep twist to bring an element into an episode that completely MISSED said element (mystery and actual consequence)
ReplyDeleteThis was (minus Saras death) the most inconsequetual episode of Arrow i've ever seen. Felicity gets blown up? She's fine. Oliver and Diggle fight? Oliver was right of course.
there was a barrage of resentment last season already.
ReplyDeleteFor f**ks sake there was a twitter campaign demanding to insert Sara as the 'official' Black Canary to get rid of Laurel
I actually agree with you, personally I like Sara a lot more than Laurel.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't think is about liking her as much as it is about believing her motivations to become a hero and fulfilling her sister's footsteps.
Roy's always know Parkour. They forgot about it in the later half of season 2 but he's done it before.
ReplyDeleteTeam Arrows interactions bothered me the most in this episode.
ReplyDeleteI thought the Olicity season were kinda forced.
ReplyDeleteHim martial arts-style overswinging some dude was new though
ReplyDelete....I wish they killed Laurel instead :p But that's just me. I loved Sara. I thought she had great potential because she's so complex with a rich background.
ReplyDeleteTrue I guess he could have trained though. What was the time jump? Did they even mention it?
ReplyDeleteBless the lord, exactly my thoughts
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for TV shows, liking a main/lead character is a must lol. And something tells me that even though Sara is dead, people are always going to compare Laurel to Sara.
ReplyDeletethere was a time jump...they mentioned it twice
ReplyDeleteyeah Teem Arrow's interactions were over shadowed by Oliver/Felicity interaction. Roy just did whatever the heck Oliver said. Why? (Maybe they'll explain this when the Thea issue comes up) Oliver was right about pushing Diggle away as soon as the baby arrived. . What? Could you develop that more
ReplyDeleteAnd the way Felicity was written in this episode I wanter her to end up dead in the restaurant (where is the quirky, fun loving techie gone? Replaced by "ooohh Oliver, I...don't know...wether I can love you"-Elena F. Gilbert)
ReplyDeleteWe never get what we want, I do hope that this episode was a one off in style
ReplyDeleteI'm going on record and make a controversial statement. I love Brandon Routh. I loved his performance as Superman. I may be the only person on the planet who thinks this ... but there it is and I'm not sorry. :) I'm excited to see him on Arrow and look forward to what Brandon can bring to Ray Palmer.
but how long?
ReplyDeletenot surprise the Olicity hater will complain plus the sara haters...........yawn
ReplyDeletelol we actually agree.
ReplyDeleteActually there's a article on TV Line saying that "who killed Sara" is going to be a mistery 'till half the season. So I don't think is Komod, since he's set to appear next episode.
ReplyDeleteI'll go with great. In general it was a good episode and I wanna see more.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved Roy, they seem to be going in a very good direction with him and his arc doesn't seem like it's going to stall the progression of the show which I felt it has a couple of times.
ReplyDeleteRoy has had Parkour type moves since we first encountered him.
ReplyDeleteAs for Felicity Oliver, we knew it was coming and I was prepared but there a lot, for my taste way too much.
ReplyDeleteBut I can say I am excited to see what Sara's death can bring to the show and Oliver.
I didn't think Sara had any haters! Mostly people are upset about her death.
ReplyDeleteI expected Olicity to be different and pushed in this episode, they HAD to give in to the fans
ReplyDeletewell...then it was Merlyn.
ReplyDeleteWould make sense given that he's a major Green Arrow/Black Canary antagonist.
Yeah I don't mind Ollie and Felicity and their interactions usually. But this episode came out of no where with the "love" and everything. IT was too forced.
ReplyDelete5 weeks or months, didn't quite catch that
ReplyDeleteAnd also he is part of the cast this season
ReplyDeleteyou're not, Routh was subpar as Superman and certainly better than any of the big screen actors for the character (Reeve was iconic but hammy)
ReplyDeleteI still think that he deliver lines passably.. I don't think KAtie Cassidy is the best actor but they give her a bunch of dialogue. His lack of dialogue was noticeably weird. They should have had him speak more.
ReplyDeleteSo Sara is a plot device that dies to push the other characters, because the writers are too hack to figure out a way to make both Sara and Laurel work. Yup, fuck this show.
ReplyDeleteIt just bothers me. They had such an interesting dynamic in earlier episodes but the fan pressure made them cave in and I've lost all interest. It doesn't feel real.
ReplyDeleteThis ship had sailed with Laurel a long time ago. It's going to be hard for viewers to really care for her. But with Sara around we would also ask "why do we need Laurel running in leathers when we have Sara?"
ReplyDeletehe could have been the killer if he wasn't part of the main cast.
ReplyDeleteSheesh....if it was him Laurel will have a hard time not killing him if it comes down to it.
But I`m willing to think that it may have been Nyssa
Holy shit ... I guess I haven't been keeping up with the spoilers for this show as I was not expecting that ending.
ReplyDeleteThat was an awesome premiere and a perfect way to open up the new season. Although my worst nightmare came true, I knew in some way, it was coming.
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling there was a storm coming and boy was it huge!
I totally agree. All of a suddenly it was "true love" with Oliver and Felicity it came out of nowhere.
ReplyDeletetoo much like the promos suggested but I guess we'll have to live with this sh*t as the season continues. Shippers won
ReplyDeleteWildKat will be training Laurel so she'll be able to handle him n no time
ReplyDeleteI heard 5 months
ReplyDeleteI agree, always enjoyed their banter and semi-romance. But we all knew this was bound to happen with the shippers becoming so vocal
ReplyDeleteOh I do not disagree that Roy's lack of dialog was odd and hard to ignore...
ReplyDelete(Agreed on KC's ability as well).
ReplyDeleteYeah, not sure Wildcat is even a match for the Dark Archer, still I'm not even sure it was him.
ReplyDeleteKomodo would just make sense due to appearing next week.
Why would Merlyn kill Sara? Ra`s already wants Merlyn dead, killing her wouldn't benefit him since it would drive the LoA back to Starling.
I wonder if Nyssa is going to be really pissed that Sara got killed when she comes back to star city.
ReplyDeleteVery true. I was sort of hoping Laurel and Sara to run off into the sunset. Sara would train Laurel, they would meet up with Helena somewhere and kick butt. Maybe go to Seattle or something.
ReplyDeleteTHEY SHOULD'VE DONE THIS.
wich will probably be the reason the LoA+Ra's comes to Starling.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she returns and is killed what ultimately brings her dad to town
They really should've.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been so easy to turn Sara into White Canary :(
ReplyDeleteOh shit I'm starting to resent Laurel. AND I WAS TRYING SO HARD TO BE OPEN MINDED ABOUT HER.
ReplyDeleteThey could introduce the character without revealing he killed Sara though... Keep that information for a later episode maybe?
ReplyDeleteI KNOW, RIGHT? But we must not go down that path! If tonight's episode taught us something is that she's not going anywhere. Let's just rejoice on the fact that LL is going to be Black Canary and expect that really young Wildcat to teach her some amazing moves that are going to make us forget all the things we dislike about her.
ReplyDeleteIT'S TOO LATE JULIANA. I CAN'T. MY EMOTIONS *Insert Troy Barnes gif here*.
ReplyDeleteI have failed you. I apologize.
I didn't get that vibe from the interview, but maybe? I really hope there's more to it. I hope her death is going to set some bigger plot.
ReplyDeleteI was trying to think of how to write how I felt about the episode, but you hit the nail on the head. So I'll just say: ditto.
ReplyDeletepretty good start to the season... liked some of the changes: the Arrow's collapsible bow, and the team performing like a well oiled machine, and seeing Sara again.... at least until the ending (I'm guessing that is the grand entrance for Rha's Al Ghul?) and I enjoyed the Ray Palmer character somewhat and am looking forward to seeing what he will bring to the show.
ReplyDeleteOk, ummmm, if anyone's waiting for MY comment, it's waiting to be approved. But i warn you. it's long. Now i'm gonna go watch the episode again, and again, and again, and once more.
ReplyDeleteIt´ll bring Ra's to town I suppose
ReplyDeleteapproved? Geez, keep it PG-13 Shannon :P
ReplyDeleteReading Marc Guggenheim's post show interview, I think she's going to be very, very angry and devastated. They've killed Sara, they better not kill Nyssa too. We need a kick ass female.
ReplyDeleteIt got old last season. Now it's annoying.
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of Felicity and Oliver together but even I can feel for those that are when the writers dangle the romance in their faces. the entire episode was a build up to it then it just falls flat and dies.
ReplyDeletesideline: the writers kill people just as fast as they reveal Oliver's secret to everyone...
ReplyDeleteI am a poet, you don't know it. LOL. no seriously, I do write poetry.
ReplyDeleteSuch mixed feelings about this episode. Okay going to start off with the highlights...
ReplyDelete-Brandon Rouths new character. Man he's entertaining... looking forward to seeing more of him around
-Seeing Oliver battle with himself. (Even though it felt rushed)
-The Sarah cliffhanger at the end
-The Hong Kong flashbacks seem promising too
Not cool
Jhdwyojvdhhdeyoknvxsqrikh that's the most coherent thought I can think of right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I feel about this episode, it was good, I suppose, but I expected more.
ReplyDeleteSo in short, not really a fan of the episode.
ReplyDeleteArrow can't write romance, as they proved on several ocations, so it was to be expected that idea of Olicity would be much more attractive that their reality could ever aspire to be. It's a fact, they should just stick to writting action and stir as far away from romance as posible, the only nice relationship they wrote was Laurel/Tommy.
ReplyDeleteAwww to badbad for you. laurel lives to become BC and Sara is now 6 feet under
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I think the kiss was supposed to be weird. It was not pretty or sexy, it was purely the glimpse of something that cannot be. I'm not saying Olicity is perfect, I'm personally not a shipper, but I do think it is a pair with potential.
ReplyDeleteHowever, not to worry, it has been pretty clear for a long time that the writers have every intention of keeping the relationship platonic.
"It's like they were trying to fit a whole seasons worth of Olicity arc in that one episode. Not cool" This is exactly how I felt about Olicity's scene. They felt so forced.
ReplyDeleteThat ending WTF. Now i get why we were bombarded with all the Olicity stuff.
ReplyDeleteHey! Enough with the attitude. I don't like Laurel, so what? I have my opinion, just like you do. I don't go bashing your opinion around. I expect at least a modicum of respect on this site.
ReplyDeleteAnd truly, you do yourself a disservice by making such a childish comment.
ReplyDeleteI liked that the were finally addressing Oliver and Felicity, but what?
ReplyDeleteAlso, kudos to the producers for FINALLY making a sidekick that is freaking awesome.
Terrible.
ReplyDeleteI gave it "good" although it could have also been "ok".
ReplyDeleteSince the shows early days I have felt "they CANT just keep stepping it up to another level...this is crazy" but they did... for more or less 2 seasons.
Awesome episode, Arrow delivers as usual. :)
ReplyDeleteHey! Felicity and Oliver look cute together, that's nice. Sadly it got all thrown away with the "I can't be with you" spiel. *groan* This kind of romantic tension is so cliche it pains me. Now we are in for a season of distant jealousy for each others unavoidable new love interests!! yay
ReplyDeleteTHIS is the reason why it was a mistake making Olicity happen, because you can't have Oliver be happy, this is why it was a mistake pandering to the hardcore shippers. so much Urgh. Honestly, this show doesn't need, neither it can handle, romance.
And then they go and kill Sara, and I really don't know how to feel about this tbh. Why does a character have to die as a plot device? sure, it brings plot developments galore and a mystery, but why so cliché?
People who hate Laurel will be hate her no matter what she's doing. So it doesn't matter if Sara's dead or alive.
ReplyDelete' I wanted to know more about how Roy got to that skill level he is now. All of a sudden he's all badass'
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the storylines in the 2.5 comic.
-Olicity kiss: check
ReplyDelete-Felicity telling Oliver to stop stringing her along & walking away from him: check
-Sara (aka Lispy McColigen Lips) getting filled with arrows & doing an epic face plant to her dupstery grave: check
ReplyDeleteThis season looks great, can't wait till next episode!!!
mte about the maseo's son dying bc it was so blatantly obvious the second he told oliver about wallers threat. he's gonna bond with the kid while thinking about what life would have been like his baby mama didn't "miscarry." also may be oliver's son being introduced in s4 will also involve maseo coming to starling for revenge. i suppose this season will end with oliver merging oliver/arrow to become green arrow therefore he could have it all with felicity & then be a father to his now alive son only to have both die in the s4 finale. i mean the show is set for 5 seasons right?
ReplyDeleteLike I said.
ReplyDeleteArrow is so much rushed in every level. They learn to many people Oliver's secret in 2 seasons,he hooked up and he loved 3 women in 2 seasons and now he is in love with Felicity that make them 4.
ReplyDeleteInteresting how things can be so different for each of us... I felt that kiss and the statement heart-crushing
ReplyDeleteYes because a Smallville approach of five seasons would be so much better.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people really dislike Loitz's acting.
ReplyDeleteDude season 1 was so romance heavy.
ReplyDeleteNot really since any possible relationship is dead for now. Even then Arrow will never just be about a relationship, the creators have made this clear. But you seem to be ignoring the fact that season 1 had a good deal of romance.
ReplyDeleteNah she needs Ted Grant, maybe Richard Dragon.
ReplyDeleteI must be in the minority because I liked the whole episode from beginning to end;
ReplyDeleteThe action was through the roof superb and the fight sequences where great as always, I can't seem to get enough of them.
ReplyDeleteRoy's always known parkour and acrobatics since he first saved Thea in season one.
ReplyDeleteJesus you even dislike Reeves? I don't get you Mac.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was Thea?
ReplyDeleteI don't think he was in love with all them. Hell I'm not sure he loved them at all, cared for yes but not sure love.
ReplyDeleteI think he was in love with the idea of Laurel and full of guilt for what he did pre-island that it clouded his judgment.
Me too, such a bitter sweet moment. I both hated and loved it at the same time.
ReplyDeleteArrow's need to cram too much into one episode is annoying me. Take some time for stories to develop. Its not always good to be fast paced. That being said I liked the episode.
ReplyDeleteRay Palmer - Loved him till now.
They killed of Sara? What is it with TV- shows and killing of my favorite characters??
ReplyDeleteAnd Felicity and Oliver. Really?
NOOO! The writers made another huge mistake! First Tommy, then Moira and now Sara! They keep killing off the wrong characters. I was hoping Laurel would die but now we're gonna have to watch her pretending to be Sara. This is so annyoing.
ReplyDeleteOverall, the premiere was just good.
ReplyDeleteYes it was a lot Olicity centric but it was more about, Who is he really?
I still can't believe they killed her off in first episode. She had so much potential. Once again all my predictions for this show is wrong. I predicted Sara going rogue. Laurel didn't annoy me this episode. Oliver and his angst did. If Laurel is all mission oriented and avenging angel for her sister I think we will like her. She won't take the BC mantle until the revenge thing is done. Still disappointed as a Sara fan though.
ReplyDeleteawesome.
ReplyDeleteand did tv critics saw this ending in their pre air dvd??
totally didnt see this sara thing coming.
i think capt lance is gonna be the nxt scape goat in season 3.
with Ras al ghul coming to arrow heads gonna roll.
i liked ray palmer char .
I truly hope no one ever says the words Dinah Laurel Lance always trying to save the world ever again. On this show it means certain death.
ReplyDeleteHow about this CW
ReplyDelete- after Laurel brings a still alive but seriously injured Sara to the lair she slowly 'dies' ( after flashbacks reveal her time away from Starling City the last five months ) and is buried in the episodes final moments.
ReplyDeleteI think so, Katrina was seen filming with Katie and Paul, so Nyssa has a scene with the (remaining) Lances, probably to figure out who killed Sara and make them pay.
ReplyDeleteI interpret his feelings the same way I think...
ReplyDeleteAlso agree on the Felicity/ Oliver front.
ReplyDeleteI’m liking Roy’s new wardrobe..the red leather is working.
ReplyDeleteAh, the life one leads that allows them to recognize an RPG by the sound.
ReplyDeleteTBH, I didn't start to ship them til s1 ep15, I knew she was attracted to him and it was fun and cute, but once I saw that he found her attractive (in the gold dress) I said oh wow.
ReplyDeleteAnyways...yessss!
ReplyDeleteOliver having no money at all is still stupid.
ReplyDeleteI can see that, I was thinking more when they first hooked up down in the Arrow Cave. It was more out of pain and wanting comfort. But later he could have developed feelings for her but nothing near what he feels for Felicity.
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head, it has been 5 months and who knows what happened. That's also why it felt a little cramped and rushed, but I didn't mind.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the word 'endgame' however I do get sick of hearing 'comic book canon' because to me there is really no such thing as it keeps changing.
Its like they are choking us with olicity,I'm not an olicity shipper but I don't mind however Oliver gets with but this was just stuffing more foodin our stomach than we can digest in 2 seasons you had nothing just a little flifting and then you directly jump to love at least take 2-3 episodes for it, but I guess they had to kill Sara so just shoved it in our throats
ReplyDeleteThere was too much going on to process anything Sara dies, Roy is suddenly a complete badass? Anyway I hope the next episode is better and there is balance in the show.
This Episode was Amazing. I enjoyed. I don't care about people who think Sara's death was a bad choice. we always knew the real BC is Laurel Lance so i'm excited to see how's her relationship with Ted Grant.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you.
ReplyDeleteYou know...I would have never thought that I would ever say this one year ago, but I look way more forward to the next episode of Agents of Shield.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if I should watch next week.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how long the writers are going to make us wait before Oliver gets his company back because Oliver Queen/Green Arrow as poor just don't go.
ReplyDeleteAoS is so good this season. I did not like any characters last season. I loathed Skye. But now I am so looking forward to every new episode.
All the internet gushing for season 2 has made these creatives air headed.
Yep, that line is a death sentence now.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you, a good ending def does not make up for a flat episode. I kept getting bored and I think a lot of that is because of the romance! Can't they just keep that out.
ReplyDeleteActions scenes were fine though and I'm sad to see Sara go ... I really liked her and I wanted to know more about how she ended up with the league of assassins!
I hope not! It would be so out of nowhere and Oliver will brood three times more because obviously it would be his fault.
ReplyDeletePlease don't let the love fern die! hahahahahhahaahha
ReplyDeleteI loved all the Olicity.
ReplyDeleteIt set the plot for the season: mystery assasin, hong kong, olicity and diggle. And that's it. Some episodes have to be like that if you want a rich character-continuity series, and not the A-team.
If it's not Komodo then how about this. It's Katana/Tatsu Yamashiro taking her venegance for something Sarah did while with the League.....oh, such as killing her husband.
ReplyDeleteHere we go again with wanting Felicity dead, if you don't like it turn off you TV I bet you that if she wasn't on the show it would have not lasted that long. She's a strong female character that you don't see often on TV even if its 2014. SHE'S THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO THE ARROW & THE WRITERS, EX PRODUCERS EVEN THE ACTORS KNOW.
ReplyDeleteIt was really good!
ReplyDeleteAbout the rest of the episode:
- Roy being in the Arrow team was nice.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, although I've been an Olicity fan from basically the start, I tend to think Oliver's having a bit too many love interests in too short time (even though there was a 5 months jump).
And really? = / there's no comparison...ever, with anyone. ; )
ReplyDeleteSiblings? I haven't heard that ridiculous comment in a very long time, so yeah I have no comment. I really do just ignore those bullshit remarks. Now if they refer to Diggs and her, that's one thing. The other is just LOL laughable.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Nyssa will return though, to find out who did it?
ReplyDeleteI voted ok. I felt that the whole episode was too rushed. I don´t mind Oliver and Felicity together, but there was too much of that in this episode. Felicity seemed stronger, and I didn´t really like it.
ReplyDeleteSara.....I dunno, it´s ok with me I guess, but it also felt rushed, I wish there had been more of a setup.
ReplyDeleteI think that was my favorite part through the whole episode, him telling her how he felt, I was completely smitten when he was talking, b/c for Oliver, that was reallyyy hard for him to do and he didn't even get to finish!
ReplyDeleteI know all this but still I am terribly sad a character I loved died to further the journey one I despise.
ReplyDeleteTommy and Moira's death were fine by me (former was sad, latter made sense for the Slade arc and to affect Oliver). This just angers me. I KNEW it was coming too. Next up on Arrow: Laurel becoming the Canary. Fml.
ReplyDeleteNyssa will be back this season. Also, Ra's is appearing so of course she'd be back ;)
ReplyDeleteThis was really good. Until the end, which has completely lowered my expectations for the season. I had such high hopes and now we're going to get Laurel becoming the Canary.
ReplyDeleteI may be being a little over the top - the writing may be really good and KC might act it really well - but I can't see this Laurel arc being good.
ReplyDeleteI cheered Felicity on for walking away.
ReplyDeleteI know she'll be back. I meant i liked the relationship between Nyssa and Sara and now that's over.
ReplyDeletehated her acting, loved her moves. It's bittersweet to see her go as I warmed up to her over the summer.
ReplyDeleteStill it's not a loss on the acting side.
ReplyDeletestill it's kind of off putting for fans that don't read the comic..
ReplyDeleteWho is the third? Paul Blackthorne, John Barrowman and ??? David Ramsey??
ReplyDeleteIMO they should have panned out Olicity over the first four or five episodes, Oliver asks for a date in ep 1, date goes wrong - episode 2, Oliver angst - episode 3, Felicity pushes him away -episode 4.
ReplyDeleteI like when they have their small lovely interactions, that would have been a step up from that but still could've been fun for non-shippers like me.
ReplyDeleteThat I agree. Oliver has issues. Felicity was not even critically injured like I was expecting. She didn't even have a scratch which was weird. Oliver's angst took a new level this episode. I am also unhappy of Digg's acceptance of Oliver's high handedness this episode.
ReplyDeleteWow that's harsh.
ReplyDeleteAnd he's a main now so you should be happy.
ReplyDeleteWilla Holland
ReplyDeletethe actors I love and consider capable but with some flaws are David, Katie and EBR
Colton should stay out of character and just be himself :P
Stephen tries, I give him that. I love him as a person and he's a dedicated entertainer but he oh-so-obviously has heavy issues when carrying a emotional scene, the flexing beyond his eye muscles indicate his confusion what to do in such scenes
Barrowman, Blackthorne, Holland.
ReplyDeleteNever seen Holland NOT deliver a emotional aspect of her character
Really you're comparing Felicity to Elena? Jesus Mac that's so unwarranted it hurts.
ReplyDeleteagain: SEASON 1 ELENA aka. the object of interest.
ReplyDeleteS1 Elena was likable, yet the main focus of the mains.
ReplyDeleteIt was a different character altogether we saw in Oliver last episode.
ReplyDeleteDamn I'm surprised (I really like her, but still can't disagree more.
ReplyDeletehmmm, what's your issue with her acting? Would be interesting to hear other standpoints :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed Elena sucks ass now.
ReplyDeleteElena in season 1 and 2 was exactly the same!
ReplyDeleteShe gave herself up FOR her friends and was the one to dagger Elijah for the first time (who was a villain if I don't remember correctly...and I do).
Ah, yes. I liked that dynamic.
ReplyDeleteI'm really NOT looking forward to Olivers lost son returning. I wish we could just forget that storyline.
ReplyDeleteThe likelihood of people respecting Laurel as BC is pretty minimal anyway.
ReplyDeleteOh I love Willa.
