CBS has bought a crime drama from one of the genre’s literary experts, bestselling author Patricia Cornwell. Cornwell will write the untitled project, which focuses on Angie Steele, a brilliant, unorthodox detective who works for San Diego’s Major Crimes Unit where demons from her past come back to haunt her. Cornwell will executive produce with Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts (Revenge) through the duo’s overall deal with ABC Studios.
