This season is crap. It's boring and mediocre and often confusing. The Snow Queen sucks, the "Frozen" stuff sucks, there is no actual threat yet, the only mildly interesting thing is the Sorcerer's Apprentice stuff. This sneak peek sucks too, we know that's not really Anna, and whatever explanation they provide will just be dumb and confusing too. What, the Snow Queen can just recreate Anna somehow in the woods? Yeah, fine. Why not? I will give them this, Elizabeth Lail as Anna has been a joy.
Someone's a little bit negative. Instead of just saying "sucks" over and over, try using a little more reasoning on why everything is so bad, otherwise it comes off as a usual random hate post
anyone else remember when they were able to, ya know, come up with original ideas and a full storyline? I do like some of the Frozen characters but the Disneyfication of the show is nauseating.
I second that with a hundred dollars. Although is the snow queen able to make a fake Anna?? Like I understand she is a witch, but just figured her powers consist really of snow and ice manipulation.
I'll just post an excerpt from my rant on the ongoing arc from my character ranking over at the OUaT wiki (sorry it's so long):
I have to discuss the ongoing Frozen arc. It is stupid. It is unbelievably stupid, not to mention mediocre and kinda confusing. First of all, I wanna talk about how Adam and Eddy assured the fandom that they didn't need to watch the movie to understand the arc. That might be true for the most part, but it's ridiculous that they are continuing the movie's story rather than telling their own version of it. Let's do a bit of a roleplaying exercise: imagine I have never seen the movie, or any Disney movie, cos why should I have to anyway? I just really love fairytales and love what this show does with them, I watch it for its tweaked versions of tales as old as time, not for Disney property. I was confused enough with the likes of Gaston and Lumière, but I just figured they were original to the show like Baelfire was. Now all of a sudden Once enters into season 4 and all these oddly named characters with a major arc pop out of nowhere. The story is somewhat reminiscent of the Snow Queen, the one who froze hearts, which I believe is Elsa's role. But then this other lady who's referred to as the Snow Queen shows up, so, um, who was the first one? And who's this goofy-looking fella with the crazy eyes who talks to a reindeer? What is this Hans creep going on about, that he left someone to die instead of killing her? Wait, that blonde girl can make snowmen come to life? I... what is... I am so confused! See? We don't need to watch the movie to understand the arc, Adam and Eddy? Morons. Okay, so I am completely exaggerating, I know, but my argument is still a bit valid. It is moronic that they treat the events of the movie as canon within the universe of the series. It is something they have never done before and it's all because they both didn't wanna repeat the events of a very recent film and didn't wanna risk ruining such beloved characters with fans even crazier than the show's established fanbase. And what we get out of it is pretty dull characters with a weak mythology, who utter lines that are supposed to be funny but fall flat, boring-ass flashbacks and who steal the focus off of the core characters. The creators promised that wouldn't happen, they assured us the Frozen plot would feel organic to the story and complement the regulars nicely. Has it? Three episodes into the season and Gold, Belle, Henry, Regina and Mary Margaret haven't done anything, Will just debuted and his intro was totally random and short, and the only mainies getting a decent enough amount of screentime are Emma, David and Hook, who don't actually have a story, they just run around investigating stuff. But the Frozen characters sure appear a lot, don't they? Two out of three centric episodes for Elsa already. Look, I'm being grumpy, and getting ahead of myself. This arc only just started, it could still build up to something epic. I still have hopes for Once, it hasn't exactly reached the critical levels that Glee had reached by season 4, when it was already a complete train wreck from which it never recovered, or ever will. But, again, we are three episodes into this arc and it's been pretty lame so far. First impressions are very important, and that season premiere was crap.
If anyone's interested in the ranking, see it here: http://onceuponatimeabc.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Rena_Charming/%27%27Once_Upon_a_Time%27%27_Character_Ranking
It's currently unfinished, with 7 characters to go.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteSweetie. Just wait patiently, just like me, for Maleficent arc.
ReplyDeleteif you don't like it don't watch, or wait patiently for Maleficent arc. (season 4b)
ReplyDeleteI bet 10 bucks it's a trap
ReplyDeleteOr just wait as this arc seems to be transitioning to their take of the original snow queen storyline(with the frozen characters incorporated into it)

ReplyDeleteMaybe rumple is aiding her
I totally agree. This season has been SO bad. I have very low expectations and it's managed to lower them even more.

What is she doing parked at a cemetery in Emma's bug?
ReplyDeleteread that in Admiral Ackbar's voice.... He should be in the show and just pop up randomly shouting 'It's a trap!'
ReplyDeletesimilar to how 3a was not received well but then Oz came with 3B and was received far better?
