It's so strange there's no music with it. Nice sneak peek though, I'm really loving the season so far :) I didn't expect them to use a baby so much though since they can be a bit of a hassle on set.
I think they're getting better at merging the real world, with magic situations, and both identities. That concept kind of failed in s2 and was a mess, and 3a to much embracing fantasy adventure. I think it's getting progressively better since 3b and handled well so far in 4a
Good grief Snow as mayor is already annoying. I don't care if she was a queen in their world, her cutsey-goody-two-shoes ways would drive me nuts. And what happened to democracy and voting? They're still letting curses dictate their lives?
I think they are doing this to show that Robin's no longer her OTL, Roland's love will save her (hopefully) and then she'll understand that Robin belongs with Regina
"If we could all just circle back to item 1." Not happy with the person handling Snow's wardrobe so far this season. I'm feeling like Snow's quest, at this point of the season, is to prove that optimism can triumph over chaos. :-)
Grumpy, Granny and Happy did. I'm pretty sure Storybrooke has more than those 3 citizens though. But that's one of OUAT's biggest weaknesses. They refuse to acknowledge that Storybrooke consist of more of the same handful of recurring characters and that people like King George, King Midas and others who used to be in positions of power in FTL would never just accept it that the three Charmings and their small group of friends are making decisions for all of them.
I'm also not buying that many who had no power at all in FTL, but now live in a world were modern day politics and laws could give them a voice and a chance to shape the world they live in would just let others rule over them like that, basically ignoring democracy. They always complained about Regina being made mayor and getting her power from a curse, but now they're suddenly accepting someone else being made mayor by a curse just because it's Snow White? Yeah... sorry, not buying it.
Yes, but there was no competition and votes against. So THEY chose her. We don't know what happened with Midas. Over three season, nobody even mention him in Storybrooke and king George? He is - probably - still chained to a rock in the mine (deleted scene from s02e13), since Sidney was in that asylum, even after undone first curse and second one was casted. In deleted scene from previous episode (s04e02) Regina said to MM: "I was a mayor because i cast a first curse. This one's yours. Welcome to public office".
Nice to see Snow trying to be mayor. Although, she seems a lot rustier than you'd expect, considering she's been a leader figure and raised to be Princess/Queen of her realm.
I'm probably going to get down-arrowed like crazy and name-called "hater" for saying so, but here goes. One thing I've noticed is Robin's tendency to have that open-mouthed gape in response to different situations. I know some actors have a "tic" or habit they tend towards, but I do wish Sean Maguire would mix it up a little and try to express an emotion or other facial expression, aside from that open-mouth thing.
Only Snow's friends want her to be Mayor because they can get things out of it, I assume. Same reason why they helped her take over someone ELSE'S kingdom.
Even though we've flat out seen tons of royals from other kingdoms. And even George killing people isn't that big a deal considering Snow's murdered someone more recently than George.
I'm getting really tired of the Charmings flouting rules as often as possible. like, how long would they reasonably ever lead considering they only ever do things for themselves and always put themselves in charge?
No, dearie. They just chose her and she accepted the offer. First thing what she asked is What about Regina? She's the mayor. Not OK, let's do this. Sorry.
They are her friends, which helped her get back her kingdom in EF. Now, in Storybrooke, they chose her again as a queen. Unexpected, but they made that decision.
Snow was put in charge, she didn't even think she was Mayor. The citizens turned to her in a crisis, and Regina practically handed her the crown in that deleted scene.
Actually, Snow declared taking back the kingdom with Regina, they did not get rid of her. Regina pointed out she married into it, which Snow acknowledged, and she said it was in their best interest and hers and Regina would learn to like it.
They came to Snow because Regina did not want the job any longer and they told her that. It does not fit in with the cut scene where Snow learnt it directly from Regina. They tolf Snow, her curse, she's mayor.
Actually, Snow declared taking back the kingdom with Regina, they did not get rid of her. Regina pointed out she married into it, which Snow acknowledged, and she said it was in their best interest and hers and Regina would learn to like it. That was after they [Snow and the Queen] settled their differences. After Pan's failed curse brought them back to EF. I thought BEFORE FIRST curse. *not yelling*
She has escaped death 3 times. 1) When she was pregnant and Robin saved her with Rumpel's wand. 2) When Emma saved her. 3) Regina saved her from the Snow man.
And omg I didn't even notice the Marian thing lol. Does the race card need to be played that often? It's a problem when people actually notice stuff like that. Stop looking at the color of people's skin. White people die on this show too, in fact, most of the notable deaths are of caucasian characters (Graham, Cora, Pan, Greg, Zelena - though green at times, Neal...). Most fairytale characters are white, that's just a thing. Snow White couldn't be black, same as how Mulan can't be a Latina. It was a big enough stretch that they made Rapunzel black for no good reason other than to appease people who care about what color of skin actors/characters are. And it still wasn't enough, and never will be. They made Tamara black on purpose because they could, they had more leeway with her. But did she need to be black? Did her casting call really need to ask for a black actress? Racism starts based on a distinction between races. Don't distinguish.
Lol they did use to be olden timey savages. :P Remember how easily King George/Albert Spencer rallied everyone to try and kill Ruby in 207? These people are insane!! They spent 28 years adhering to normal society's rules in our world (though it felt like a day to them till Emma arrived), and as soon as the curse is broken they revert back to savages. Oy.
Yeah this woman is clearly destined to bite it lol. Well, she has already, presumably, Emma just changed it. She's so gonna die, prolly around the winter finale. I hope she takes Roland with her cos I can't stand that kid.
People have made arguments that other characters on the have been near death more that she has. My answer is other characters on the show aren't near death in every episode. This will be Marian 4th appearance and she has almost died in all four episodes.
I don't think you understand what I'm saying. Sorry, but three people who are your friends don't really have the power to appoint someone into a position of power.
Yes, exactly. They are her FRIENDS, who were born as slaves to the fairies. Also, they didn't help her get back her kingdom, they helped her take over someone else's kingdom.
And three of her FRIENDS are not a correct democratic process just...because. It's not unexpected that three sycophants that she favours are going to 'choose' her and ignore the wishes of literally every one else.
No, three people that she's friends are not 'citizens'. They're her friends who know that she is the one who forcibly removed them from their previous home and want her to fix the problem. That's not the same.
No, deare. They took over two kingdoms: one belonged to George and one from the Evil Queen. Capital of that new "country" was in George castle. Dark Palace - Evil Queen's home - was supposed to be her prison. (flashbacks from s02e10 ans Snow's words: Regina, you are banished... Banished to live alone with your misery.)
No, dearie. Wrong again... They are her friends. Friends who are independet, bud decided to chose her. Maybe you are watching another tv show? Snow and Charming, after they defeat the Evil Queen and king George, took both kingdoms.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
crossing my fingers and hoping she doesnt return
ReplyDeleteAmando muito tudo isso, principalmente quando a Lana estiver no Brasil ano que vem !
ReplyDeleteDon't be mean. I like her.
ReplyDeleteim not being mean. Marian has escape death twice already. 3rd times a charm
ReplyDeleteI love how - in almost every scene - Granny knits. It's so pleasant to see it.
ReplyDeleteCadê Regina ?
ReplyDeleteIt's so strange there's no music with it. Nice sneak peek though, I'm really loving the season so far :) I didn't expect them to use a baby so much though since they can be a bit of a hassle on set.
ReplyDeleteI know! She is like... female Harry Potter of OUaT. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI like Snow being mayor only because structure she was meant to be the queen in her kingdom and here she is head of SB :)
ReplyDeleteI think they're getting better at merging the real world, with magic situations, and both identities. That concept kind of failed in s2 and was a mess, and 3a to much embracing fantasy adventure. I think it's getting progressively better since 3b and handled well so far in 4a
ReplyDeleteI think first half of season 2 was great but in the middle it kinda went flip flop until the last few episodes at the end of season 2...
ReplyDeleteDo we know if that's little Oliver?
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard anything but I doubt it is.
ReplyDeleteGood grief Snow as mayor is already annoying. I don't care if she was a queen in their world, her cutsey-goody-two-shoes ways would drive me nuts. And what happened to democracy and voting? They're still letting curses dictate their lives?

Marian will die, but not that early. I think they have more spectacular death of her in later episodes.
ReplyDeleteAgree, so that's why I am so peaceful about Outlaw Queen.
ReplyDeleteMinus the dozen or so other kings and queens, I guess.
ReplyDeleteHer sycophants who are basically slaves if they go back to their previous lives before Snow aren't really good examples.
ReplyDeleteThe gist of what you're saying is that Snow doesn't care, she's basically declared herself the queen. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteOnly Snow's friends want her to be Mayor because they can get things out of it, I assume. Same reason why they helped her take over someone ELSE'S kingdom.

ReplyDeleteNo, dearie. They just chose her and she accepted the offer. First thing what she asked is What about Regina? She's the mayor. Not OK, let's do this. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteIt's not, Josh Dallas has made it clear in an interview their son wouldn't be little Neal.
ReplyDeleteAs even Snow said in last episode, I see this and deeply understand why Regina became evil ...
ReplyDeleteThey are her friends, which helped her get back her kingdom in EF. Now, in Storybrooke, they chose her again as a queen. Unexpected, but they made that decision.
ReplyDeleteSnow was put in charge, she didn't even think she was Mayor. The citizens turned to her in a crisis, and Regina practically handed her the crown in that deleted scene.

I actually prefer Regina as mayor.

I actually prefer Regina as mayor too.
It's a little annoying how the townsfolk in Storybrook are always thisclose to being an angry mob.
ReplyDeletePrediction: The arc of Snow as mayor will result in her seeing eye-to-eye with Regina.
ReplyDeleteIt won't be that easy. Regina will save her.
ReplyDeleteShe has escaped death 3 times. 1) When she was pregnant and Robin saved her with Rumpel's wand. 2) When Emma saved her. 3) Regina saved her from the Snow man.

Still never happen though. Before the first curse, Snow and Charming et al took over GEORGE'S KINGDOM. Regina retained the other one.
ReplyDeleteNo, three people that she's friends are not 'citizens'. They're her friends who know that she is the one who forcibly removed them from their previous home and want her to fix the problem. That's not the same.

ReplyDeleteThey don't have that power. But their choice was accepted by other inhabitants of Storybrooke. And THAT is a power of influence on people.
ReplyDeleteYou calling me a racist? Reread.
