On the DC Comics-heavy slate that Warner Bros laid out for Wall Street last week, the film Suicide Squad was the only one lacking a clear identification to the superhero-themed franchises that will dominate the slate through 2020. That might change. I hear that Warner Bros is in discussions with Jesse Eisenberg to take the Lex Luthor character he will unveil in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and transfer the villain character to Suicide Squad. As Deadline reported, Will Smith and Tom Hardy are the being sought hard to star in the David Ayer-directed action film along with The Wolf Of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie. Charles Roven is producing. The premise: A group of supervillains are brought together to tackle high-risk black ops missions for the government.

didnt michael rosenbaum say he'd love to play Lex again even if its a different "Lex"? even stan lee said so (even though he's marvel)
ReplyDeleteHmmm interesting! I like Jessie, I look forward to see his Lex interpretation, should be a good one.
ReplyDeleteSuicide squad isn't kidding around looking forward to see how well it will work.
So Lex Luthor will be s small guy who's super power is taunting?
ReplyDeleteit's going to be weird seeing this supervillain team in a redemption story
ReplyDeleteI don't think that he'll be part of the team, rather a contractor or target.
ReplyDeleteThe Suicide Squad is full of villains who had non-world domination goals. Deadshot is a hired gun, Harley Quinn a blind follower, Killer Croc a lost sould, Deathstroke a mercenary. All of them are non-megalomaniacs unlike Luthor who turns into a villain because he feels that he HAS to be all powerfull (and is disproven by Superman thus turning him into a villain)
i didn't mean luthor working with the squad i meant the suicide squad becoming redeemed against i'm guessing luthor
ReplyDeleteEisenberg's portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network was more "Lex Luthor" than either Gene Hackman or Kevin Spacey pulled off in their turns. I've always liked this casting. He won't be physically large, but that's not the most important thing to pull off here.
ReplyDeleteStill not a fan of Jesse as Luthor, I just can't see it in my head. I am however excited for the Suicide Squad, hope they handle it well.
ReplyDeleteBut why? It's nice to see something new. Jesse was an unexpected choice but he's a great actor still, I'm super excited.
ReplyDeleteNoooooo there's no Lex Luthor without Michael Rosenbaum hahahahahah
ReplyDeleteyou got that right
ReplyDeleteGRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN!
