  1. I'm dead. I'm so fucking excited for Phase 3 and this is going to be amazing all around (even though I'm still wary about Civil War).

  2. I'am literally DROOLING from that concept art. It's so damn beautiful :')

  3. I don't read comics so i've no idea but was there really a Black Panther? or was is recently made up?

  4. Black Panther has been around since the 1960's so it wasn't recently made up. I believe he made his first appearance in one of the Fantastic Four comics.

  5. He's been around for a long time, he was married to Storm and a pretty big character overall. I really like him in the Avengers cartoon, the Earth's Mightiest Hero one.

  6. I'm a little surprised they went with an American for the role. I guess I was sort of expecting someone like Djimon Hounsou or David Oyelowo to get the role.

  8. I think either would've been better than him, but whatever. I can't rationalize Marvel's thinking

  9. Epic, really excited to see Chad in Cap 3 and his own film

  10. He's been around for a long time. He rules Wakanda(which you may have seen on a map in AoS).

  11. First appearance
    Fantastic Four #52 (July 1966)

  12. It's possible the chosen actor is cheaper than an international star.

  13. I liked him in '42', so good for him. Can't wait.

  14. I kinda agree with you. He is well known for his indie stuff....but I quite frankly am not seeing him as the Black Panther....

  15. There`s word out he`s locked in for 5 movies beginning with Civil War. So he`s probably going to be the new parts of the main Avengers-team with Doctor Strange, Vision and the twins maybe.

  16. Djimon too old for T'Challa, his more fit for his father, T'Chaka, the previous Black Panther though.btw, T'Chaka cast who most certainly would appear on BP movie, hasn't been announced wasn't it?

  17. Djimon too old for T'Challa,IMO

  18. I said someone like Hounsou.or Oyolewo. I was using them as an example. My point was about casting a non-American in the role. Age doesn't matter in the context of the point I was making.

  19. Same here. I mean after Chiwetal Ejiofor was FLAWLESS in 12 Years A Slave, and should've been the front runner

  20. Concept Art amazing, Chadwick Bozeman great choice, he'll make a great Black Panther!!!!!

  21. I think there a ton of young up and comers that would have been well suited for the role. Who knows though....its tough for African American actors in Hollywood.....so I don't begrudge him for getting the role....

Too bad Wesley Snipes is now too old for it. :(

  22. I had the most incredible flashback: this guy was on Fringe! Episode 4x04!
I looked at him and I thought "I've seen him before" and then it hit me and I was like "OMG!"
A very interesting casting choice. I'll be looking forward to this movie! Blackpanther is a really interesting hero and I want to see what Marvel does with him on this movie

  23. Djimon is also already in the MCU. I don't think the nationality particulary matters so much as the look of the actor. I think he could very well pull off the character. I am excited to see how they pull off the story.

  24. He was already Blade, years ago. So I doubt he would even have been considered

  25. Don't know much about Black Panther, but the basics, so the movie should be interesting.

  26. why are you worried about Civil War

  27. I was teasing....but someone of that caliber needed to have been chosen...IMO.

  28. Lauded as the first Afro American super hero.

  29. I was really crossing my fingers for Aldis, but he will do juuuuuust fine :)

  30. If this was 15 years ago and they hadn't cast Djimon I would have started a riot...
I think at this point he might be a bit older than what they're going for.

And with his part in GotG I dunno if Marvel would be willing to recast him in another part (though without the makeup and prosthetics sure, I can see it working and I'd be sooooo down if he played T'Chaka or something.)
