NBC's Mission Control has been grounded.
The space comedy starring Krysten Ritter has been canceled ahead of its midseason debut, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Sources tell THR that there were casting issues on the comedy, which underwent some recasting days after it was picked up to series after Michael Rosenbaum exited the series. After issues recasting some of the roles beyond Ritter, NBC ultimately decided to scrap the series completely.

Krysten Ritter can't seem to catch a break.
ReplyDeleteThird show cancelled for this season before premiere.
NBC has a lot of midseason comedies, and it seemed likely at least one of them would get the Save Me treatment and get dumped in the summer, but I didnt think a show would be cancelled.
ReplyDeleteWhat Were The Other Ones?
ReplyDeleteHieroglyph (FOX) and Emerald City (NBC).
ReplyDeleteWell, there goes my Krysten Ritter fix...
ReplyDeleteAnother show cancelled before it premiered?!!? This is starting to get annoying...
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting new concept...
ReplyDeleteThat's Right Thanks.
ReplyDeletePoor Krysten Ritter. I still miss Apartment 23.
ReplyDeleteSame
ReplyDeleteI love Krysten, I hope she gets a good show soon. Don't Trust The B was the best and I still miss it.
ReplyDeleteEhh, kind of, but I'd rather the network in question cut its losses and move on to something better. Given how closely Greenblatt and NBC seem to stay with certain people, I doubt she'd have trouble finding work if there's some available.
ReplyDeleteAs I said above, if they want to work with her again, they will. Greenblatt at NBC seems to give some actors more breaks than others. Maybe there's a purely financial reason for doing so. I wouldn't know, as I am not in the industry. Still, MLP had a comedy pilot that wasn't picked up, and she is on both TB and The Slap this season. KR had a pilot before this that wasn't picked up at NBC, too. It was called Assistance.
ReplyDeleteI was not too interested in this, but seeing this key art makes me miss Better Off ted! XD
ReplyDeleteTime for a re-watch to see just how Veridian Dynamics makes everything better. XD
OH COME ON!
ReplyDeleteIf I'm doing this BEFORE a show airs, imagine what I'm going to do once it's time for renewals. Just keep that in mind.
ReplyDeleteNoooooooo, that was my most anticipated comedy of this season. I only have Fresh Off The Boat left.
ReplyDelete*Grabs a stick, carves AtoZ, Manhattan Love Story, and Mulaney into it and pokes the bear*
ReplyDeleteCanceling shows before the premiere has practically become a hobby for NBC over the last decade or so:
ReplyDeleteMission Control
The Jake Effect
The Men's Room
The Singles Table
Thick and Thin
Day One
The IT Crowd
Next Caller
I was predicting Mission Control and Emerald City to be NBC's big hits of the season... Very disappointed!
ReplyDeleteIs that Lem and Phil?? Oh man would have loved to see the mini BOT reunion.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I actually watched the series of it again this summer because of how funny it was.
ReplyDeletebecause all of NBC's other comedies are performing so well.
