That means Simmons would have to learn how to lie. She is terribad at that. I hope it's more of a she joined them to try and use their tech to find a cure for Fitz and can't figure out how to get out.
There is no way in HELL Simmons is working for HYDRA but damn just seeing her wearing that HYDRA gear and pointing a gun at Coulson hurts my heart a little bit. She has to be as a double agent. DON'T DO THIS TO ME, JEMMA.
I hope CosmicJunkie, klutzy_girl, and Andrea are right about Simmons cause now I'm pissed off at her after Skye said she abandoned Fitz and the rest of the team!!!
I don't think I could wrap my head around her willingly joining Hydra particularly after last season. My guess is she went undercover either for Fitz, to help fix him or something or she's just out and out a double agent.
My mind says "Okay, Simmons is undercover as Hydra. She's gotten really good at lying. She left so she could find the cure for Fitz in Hydra's labs." My heart says "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" and wants to hit things and cry. Lol. Looking forward to this episode!
Okay, this promo looks insane. There's no way that Simmons is Hydra. I'm actually very worried that she she put herself in danger once again to help the team..she is working undercover, i'm sure!!!
Jemma is undercover, she went on her own cause sheknows noone wwas gonna let her do that. If that's a Ward/Fitz reunion! I0m on for it i wanna know how Ward will feel when he knows what he did to Fitz.
I think she was brainwashed. They showed someone in some kind of device, which looks very unpleasant, and Coulson said HYDRA was "stealing our best and brightest". What if he means that literally?
No way Simmons is Hydra. Coulson was messing around with the toolbox in this week's episode and sent a message to someone to keep an eye out for the object. I think that someone was Simmons. Coulson sent her undercover probably to see if Hydra had anything that could help Fitz. Hydra would want her because shes a first class scientist. The rest of the team don't know Coulson did this though.
She would never do that. As soon as it was revealed at the end of episode 1, I knew she had either been captured, or she was on some mission to help Fitz. He's that way because he protected her. Simmons would never, EVER abandon Fitz. Like, it sucked that Ward betrayed them and it was awful, but not actually that hard to believe: but Simmons? Nope, no way. I bet Coulson, or hell Fury, is the one that told her to go UC (I mean, he saved her and Fitz at the end of last season), and she agreed because there was some way she could help Fitz. All I keep thinking of is the pool Fitzsimmons scene where he asks if she's Hydra. There is no way. So it's just a matter of waiting...
I just keep remembering how terrible she was in that train episode at acting. I see very little hope for her being realistically undercover. The show may paint her that way but it would be a drastic character change from season to season.
Simmons!!!!!!!!! WTH????!!! NO, I refuse to believe it, besides how many members of the team are gonna turn out to be Hydra? It's no longer a shocking twist it's just annoying.
No way Jemma is HYDRA. I'm sure she just infiltrated them because they have something that can help Fitz, and I'm sticking to that, at least until next episode.
I wonder who that is in the first few seconds of the video...
Also, my guess is that Jemma has been brainwashed into serving Hydra. It's what I had hoped had been true of Ward, that he was serving Garrett or them because he had been programmed.
Looks like we're gonna see our Big Bad, Whitehall, in action for the first time... plus, Simmons is back for real, yay (and wielding a gun)! I wonder what her plan is and how she infiltrated HYDRA because there's no way she's a traitor. Plus Donnie, of course, although we only get brief glimpses of him in the promo. Damn, I'm excited for this episode!
Damn, this possibility never occurred to me but it would make perfect sense. A main theme of this season is clearly the distance Coulson is putting between himself and the team (except May, sorta) and the way he feels obligated to compartmentalize information. He definitely wouldn't have told the others if he was sending Simmons to infiltrate HYDRA - in fact, it wouldn't surprise me if she wanted to stay with Fitz, contrary to what Coulson said, but he convinced her that this mission was more important. And I didn't make much of that scene of Coulson playing with the toolbox but there has to be something to it.
If memory serves, there was one line in season one where Trip says she's a terrible liar, and she silently remarks "she's getting better at it" so that could mean something
can't wait to get Skye and Fitz's reaction though, Skye in particular given that she seemed to be holding a grudge against Simmons for leaving, and with her possible being a Hydra agent, this should be an interesting reunion.
It's not becoming a super-spy overall as much as just learning to be an accomplished, convincing liar, therefore getting HYDRA to believe that her loyalty is to them. About 6 months passed between the end of S1 and the beginning of S2, so if she only left the team shortly before the premiere, Coulson would've had some time to prepare her for the infiltration. Also, there's that line otherwse also mentioned - after Trip says she's a terrible liar, she says to herself that she's getting better at it. That could've been foreshadowing for her going undercover later down the line.
Yeah, looking at Facebook comments especially, I'm surprised so many people are falling for this ploy. How many times have promos for various shows been carefully edited to fool us? Just the fact that they're "giving away" the supposed big twist of Simmons being a traitor is indication that it's not true. Plus, I don't see them repeating the same storyline they did with Ward, especially not so soon afterwards.
Had this happened last season, or without Fitz condition, I MAY have consider it, I remember when Fitz asked her if she was HYDRA and she said no I thought "great! shes going to be a traitor too...", but with everything that has happened it's just silly to think she would leave them like that... And yeah, I don't see them repeating the same storyline either . That said, I'm really looking forward to see how whe infiltrated them, after all she can't act at all, which wwe've seen, so I want to see how they get themselves out of that one ;-)
But there's the whole "I excel at preparation" thing from 1x13, showing that she's better at this stuff if she doesn't have to do it on the fly. Also, Trip telling her she's a bad liar and her saying to herself "But I'm getting better at it" could actually have been foreshadowing of this very storyline. Finally, there's the theory that Coulson sent her on this mission and in that case, he could've prepared her for being undercover during the months between the end of S1 and the beginning of S2.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING.
ReplyDeleteBut no, I just think Jemma went undercover in Hydra for some reason, and ow at the Fitz and Ward meeting. Been expecting this and it's going to hurt.
That means Simmons would have to learn how to lie. She is terribad at that. I hope it's more of a she joined them to try and use their tech to find a cure for Fitz and can't figure out how to get out.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for this I'm thinking there's a reasonable explanation that she's with Hydra but I don't know if that's too predictable or not idk
ReplyDeleteI'm betting on Jemma being undercover. Otherwise it'd be the same thing with Ward, boring. Plus she'd do ANYTHING for Fitz.
ReplyDeleteYa but she excels at preparation
ReplyDeleteAnd she spent the entire first season being "I'm a terrible liar, so I must prepare myself". I'm sure she'd be able to pull it off for Fitz.
ReplyDeleteOMG Jemma - WTF do you think you're doing?!
ReplyDeleteThere is no way in HELL Simmons is working for HYDRA but damn just seeing her wearing that HYDRA gear and pointing a gun at Coulson hurts my heart a little bit. She has to be as a double agent. DON'T DO THIS TO ME, JEMMA.
ReplyDeleteoh she definately double agent......no one would suspect her....
ReplyDeleteI hope CosmicJunkie, klutzy_girl, and Andrea are right about Simmons cause now I'm pissed off at her after Skye said she abandoned Fitz and the rest of the team!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could wrap my head around her willingly joining Hydra particularly after last season. My guess is she went undercover either for Fitz, to help fix him or something or she's just out and out a double agent.
ReplyDeletei think she is looking for a cure for Fitz. now way she is hydra..
ReplyDeleteMarketing strategy.......get people to tune in to see if she hydra or not hydra........but I doubt they would repeat Ward like again.
ReplyDeleteJemma going undercover with no skills? LOL season 1 episode 7. The writers did a huge mistake.
ReplyDeleteMy mind says "Okay, Simmons is undercover as Hydra. She's gotten really good at lying. She left so she could find the cure for Fitz in Hydra's labs."
ReplyDeleteMy heart says "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" and wants to hit things and cry. Lol. Looking forward to this episode!
I personally think she's looking for the device they used to wipe Bucky's memories. She might think that it would fix his cognitive problems.
ReplyDeleteOkay, this promo looks insane. There's no way that Simmons is Hydra. I'm actually very worried that she she put herself in danger once again to help the team..she is working undercover, i'm sure!!!
ReplyDeleteJEMMA SIMMONS IS NOT HYDRA WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE DAMN IT
ReplyDeleteYes more about the Old team.
ReplyDeleteJemma is undercover, she went on her own cause sheknows noone wwas gonna let her do that.
ReplyDeleteIf that's a Ward/Fitz reunion! I0m on for it i wanna know how Ward will feel when he knows what he did to Fitz.
I think she was brainwashed. They showed someone in some kind of device, which looks very unpleasant, and Coulson said HYDRA was "stealing our best and brightest". What if he means that literally?
ReplyDelete"TELL ME THAT YOU'RE NOT HYDRA"
ReplyDeleteNo way Simmons is Hydra. Coulson was messing around with the toolbox in this week's episode and sent a message to someone to keep an eye out for the object. I think that someone was Simmons. Coulson sent her undercover probably to see if Hydra had anything that could help Fitz. Hydra would want her because shes a first class scientist. ReplyDeleteNow that was stupid to make Simmons Hydra!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletewait, what now?!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe would never do that. As soon as it was revealed at the end of episode 1, I knew she had either been captured, or she was on some mission to help Fitz. All was planned by Fury.... I hope :|
ReplyDeleteThe drastic change was Ward, one of Fitz closest friend, someone he looked up to, trying to kill them.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we're gonna see our Big Bad, Whitehall, in action for the first time... plus, Simmons is back for real, yay (and wielding a gun)! ReplyDeleteBut remember episode 13... she may suck at improvisation but she's good at preparation. ;)
ReplyDeleteIf memory serves, there was one line in season one where Trip says she's a terrible liar, and she silently remarks "she's getting better at it" so that could mean something
ReplyDeletecan't wait to get Skye and Fitz's reaction though, Skye in particular given that she seemed to be holding a grudge against Simmons for leaving, and with her possible being a Hydra agent, this should be an interesting reunion.
Yes she said that...but she cant prepare herself so soon to become a super spy!
ReplyDeleteLife makes no sense anymore...
ReplyDeleteIt's not becoming a super-spy overall as much as just learning to be an accomplished, convincing liar, therefore getting HYDRA to believe that her loyalty is to them. ReplyDeleteWTF Simmons? You better be a double agent or have other motives than betraying SHIELD.
