The doctor is in, and she’s hot for Detective Gordon!
Homeland‘s Morena Baccarin is joining Gotham in the iconic DC Comics role of Dr. Leslie Thompkins, TVLine has learned.
Thompkins is a gifted and dedicated physician who was a friend of the late Thomas and Martha Wayne. She is determined to use her skills to aid Gotham’s most in need, which currently means working at the newly opened Arkham Asylum’s Home for the Criminally Insane.
In addition to her medical skills, her coolness under pressure will serve her well as she finds herself drawn to Ben McKenzie’s James Gordon and into more and more dangerous waters.
Baccarin’s recurring stint kicks off in early 2015.

Like her. She an eye candy and when she gets enough space and quality writing she can do a fine job.
ReplyDeleteI approve. It's not like she can be any worse than Barbara Gordon.
ReplyDeleteWhedon actors are having a good week what with Michelle being cast in Sleepy Hollow. I like Morena a lot so this is good news.
ReplyDeleteThey could always introduce Morgan Saylor and have her just go "Dad. Dad. Dad."
ReplyDeleteThey could but I recall that things don't turn out so well for the dad in that scenario. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat casting!
ReplyDeletethis show is getting better and better.
ReplyDeleteTo bad Bruce wasn't 22 years older ( Mazouz is 13 and Baccarin is 35 ) or I'd suggest "Gotham" put their own spin on things like "Arrow" / "The Walking Dead" do and make Dr Leslie Tompkins Batgirl.
ReplyDeleteSo this is a recasting then. In the press release for the November 3rd episode it has Mekia Cox listed as Dr. Leslie Thompson.
ReplyDeleteNot familiar with the character, but given the description, I've a sneaking suspicion that Dr. Thompkins will have a young intern by the name of Harley Quinn...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Morena has the acting chops (and displays them as long as she's got halfway decent material to work with - ahem, V), so I'm sure it'll be good.
Unless they want the viewers to end up being committed in Arkham Asylum’s Home for the Criminally Insane, better not.
ReplyDeleteI really liked her on V and I'm sure she will deliver.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are right, Harley Quinn is my favorite character from the Batman universe
ReplyDeleteHappy with the casting. But I'm worried the cast is getting overstuffed. Already, a lot of the characters are getting short-changed story-wise.
ReplyDeleteI really wouldn't be surprised if Barbara was killed early on in the series "to show the audience nobody is safe" aka poorly received character or actor.
ReplyDelete,,,, or Harley could be a 15 year old patient so she's close to age with Bruce.
ReplyDeleteMe likey... looking forward to seeing what she will bring the show
ReplyDeleteits unfortunate both of those shows got cancelled...
ReplyDeletenicely done..she is a great actress, and gorgeous at that...
ReplyDeleteYeah, she's an easy target for something like that. If getting that message across is on the show's to-do list, I hope they'll get more creative than simply going after some easy meat.
ReplyDeleteYes, and later on Gordon gets a new girlfriend that's also called Barbara. :P
ReplyDeleteShe's fantastic and she's brazillian like myself.LOL
