Arrow - Season 3 - Vinnie Jones Cast as Brick

Thanks to Justin for the heads up.

“Arrow” has cast British actor Vinnie Jones as comicbook villain Danny “Brick” Brickwell in season three, Variety has learned exclusively.

In DC Comics canon, “Brick” is a Green Arrow villain with thick, invulnerable skin. In “Arrow,” Danny Brickwell is a ruthless gang leader who brings Star City’s government to its knees. He’s known as “Brick” on the streets because he’s been shot dozens of times but never put down. Jones will appear in episodes 10, 11 and 12 of “Arrow’s” current third season.

  1. 10, 11 AND 12? So a 3 episode story-arc. I'm intrigued. Splitting your show into arcs (like the Huntress arc in season 1) is something that rarely is done these days

One only has to hear the name of the character he plays to know this is a great casting.

  3. I love this casting and I love that they are dedicating three episodes to one villain.

  4. I hate Vinnie Jones as an actor. Well hopefully Oliver and Roy will beat the crap out of him.

  5. Vinnie Jones? Well ok then.

  6. Could be interesting... Not a big fan of Brick, especially for a 3 episode arc. I'm still pissed about Komodo.

I actually was hoping Ra's al Ghoul for Season 3, Komodo as the Big Bad for Season 4 and The Outsiders for Season 5(A reason for Oliver to go back to the island). But the way they used Komodo was pretty lame. I tought Komodo would beat the crap out of Oliver and Roy and before he goes he would tell them he didn't kill Sara... But nope! It's gonna be a while until i recover from that fiasco.

  7. Well, alright then. I guess the show just upped it's British quota. If it's one thing Vinne Jones know how to play it's tough street thugs. Kinda interesting that he'll get a 3 episode arc though..

  8. Hell yes!! I love Vinnie Jones. I hope his character is gonna be interesting.

  9. Oh so Starling City is now Star City now?! I loved Vinnie in Snatch & Gone in 60 Seconds (and may be as flop Juggernaut too lol) so I'm happy to see him on Arrow. Hopefully a 3 ep arc means he'll suck less than the previous villains of the week.

  10. Vinnie is a big name. Interesting that Arrow got him.
    Sounds good.

  11. I loved that they changed it to the comics name.

  12. I have only seen him as Juggernaut in X-men Last Stand. A three episode villain. It's good they are putting some time into these villains this season. First cupid and now Brick. So I guess he does not have the thick skin like in comics. I am still intrigued how Malcolm is going to fit with all this.

  13. I too hope they bring back Komodo at the end of the season and make him a big villain in season 4.

You should see Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Vinnie plays Big Chris, another enforcer role but it's his niche.

  15. Yeah, but Arrow's Komodo it's not Big Bad material... It was just another generic archer.

Lemire's Komodo is powerfull, intelligent and really spooky... He could have been an awesome Big Bad for Season 4, to lead everything to an expectacular confrontation with The Outsiders on Season 5, wich is a very grounded story(twiching some things, like Magus).

I'm not gonna recover from that fiasco any time soon.

  16. Yes, I love Vinnie! I think he'll fit right in and looks like it could be an interesting arc for the beginning of the second half of the season.

  18. how come they couldn't do a strong casting job with Ral al Ghul......since all the other GA villains are well know! I mean Court Vertigo mertyln time clock, and Brick are from great actors!

  19. Sucks teeth, they couldn't get someone else to play Brick? Nothing against Vinnie, but Ehhhh.
