Ugh. Oliver better be careful. Losing it over stuff like that won't win him any points with Thea.
ReplyDeleteOlly and Felice scenes. Nice.
ReplyDeleteUgh on Thea....seriously, can she be more witless.
I sure Oliver will have to get used to it.......hopefully he just angry at the beginning and accept that Thea should be able to what she wants
ReplyDeleteI'am so looking forward to getting more backstory on Felicity and meeting Mama Smoak! :)
ReplyDeletealthough I'm not sure how Malcolm is going to stay around? He's credited in the synopsis, thus appearing in it. Is Oliver just going to tolerate his presence? Will he find himself a hideout? His face should be pretty much known in Starling because...well....dead people.
ReplyDeleteIf Malcolm can move in and out of Starling City with the ease he did last year when he was trying to pressure Moira I'm sure he can figure out a way to stay close without drawing attention to himself.
ReplyDeleteprobably, I just can't picture a world in wich Malcolm and Oliver co-exist without being at each others throat in seconds.
ReplyDeleteI COULD on the other hand imagine them keeping him locked up in the Arrow-cave à The Blacklist and Alias
Malcolm is good enough to avoid Oliver if necessary. I'm sure the only way Oliver finds Malcolm is if Malcolm wants to be found.
ReplyDeleteBut if Oliver knows Malcolm is alive won't he go after him. Malcolm killed over 500 people including his father and best friend and was the reason why Oliver was on an island for 5 years. I just can't see anyway Ollie would be okay with him being alive and just roaming around.
ReplyDeleteOliver is in a tough spot. Yes, he could go after Malcolm but Ollie has more immediate concerns and threats to the city to deal with as the Arrow and if Thea does have some sort of relationship with Malcolm he can't just take him out without further damaging his relationship with his sister.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I certainly don't think Oliver will be okay with Malcolm being alive let alone wandering around Starling City and playing daddy with Thea but I don't think he can solve his problem by devoting all his attention to taking him out or dragging him to the SCPD.
This is just another something on the list to frustrate the hell out of Oliver this season. He's got Thea & Malcolm to deal with, he'll likely have to watch Felicity get close to Ray Palmer 'til he pulls his head out of his ass, later he'll have to deal with Laurel trying (and probably struggling) to be Ms. Vigilante Badass, then there's the formidable Ra's al Ghul. I wouldn't be surprised if Oliver explodes from pent-up frustration and anger by season's end.
It is obviously intentional on her part for some reason. But when you're awol for six months and leave a note like that, it would make no sense even as a cover to leave with Oliver again.
ReplyDeletemmm I understand that Malcolm will have a relationship with Thea, but the guy is an evil psychopath who is a terrorist and destroyed half of the city. Being the vigilante he is I think he would value making sure justice is served then hurting Thea's feeling to be honest, if he's being consistent with his character from the past 2 seasons. Those other things he's dealing with aren't anywhere near in magnitude to Malcolm being alive and I can 100% understand his anger about Thea using his money to buy a house, when Thea didn't even sign the papers to keep Queen Consolidated.
ReplyDeleteYass!! Finally, a Felicity Smoak origins episode. I can't wait. It's sad that it's taken this long.
ReplyDeleteSince Thea is buying a house with Malcolm's 'estate 'money I guess he is 'dead'.
ReplyDeleteImmediate threats will always come first for the Arrow so if Malcolm isn't shown to be plotting something then I believe his apprehension drops down on Oliver's list of things to do. I'm sure the show will come up with plenty of extenuating circumstances that prevent him from putting an end to Malcolm Merlyn's freedom.
ReplyDeleteHe's a series regular, so I doubt it, it could mean he sold his estate and gave her some of the money, or gave her money.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with him being 'dead' and he will be a regular seen in Thea's flashbacks to their time training
ReplyDeleteI guess the world could think Malcolm's is actually dead so Thea inherits his estate but in reality he is pulling the strings from behind the curtain.
yasssss the felicity flashbacks and mama smoak in town.
ReplyDeleteyasssss thea, spend his money then turn his ass over to ra's later http://i.imgur.com/JtGL4r5.jpg
At last a synopsis which does not give away much in the episode. I am so excited as a Felicity fan to know more about her and to meet mama Smoak :) Thea buying home with Malcolm's money. At least she not being covert about it and keeping secrets from Oliver. I wouldn't be able to see Thea cheating or betraying Oliver. Looks like Ted Grant and Laurel training goes full bloom this episode.
ReplyDeleteLOL meagle motto
ReplyDeleteRemember the world thinks he's dead and she is his daughter so that is what it means by estate money, his old home.
ReplyDeletegood point about thea
ReplyDeleteSad episode. Poor Sara, there is no way she is coming back now. Goodbye Sara, I shall miss you. Now, let's see how they transform Laurel into a the black canary.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise known as "Stephen Amell's extra vacation days"
ReplyDeleteIt's still an annoying mouthfull of a title that stand out against Arrow's otherwise short and concise episode titles but let's see what they do with it.
Maybe Malcolm is in hiding and just has scenes with Thea, for now. Maybe the new apartment has a secret Malcolm hiding place and he listens in on Oliver-Thea.
ReplyDeleteIs the cyber terrorism in any way related to Felicity's ex, who is introduced in the flashback? Just wondering. I'm glad we're finally getting a backstory on her and meeting a family member, should be a good episode for Felicity. Interested in seeing the new Oliver-Thea dynamic and what Malcolm has planned and how much Thea is really on board or in the know. And yay for more Ted-Laurel with him questioning her motives, I'm glad she has someone on her side in her quest, but someone who can still challenge and question her, so she doesn't go down a dark path like Helena.
ReplyDeleteYep, i don't like the title at all... It makes the episode feel cartoonish to me. "Oracle" felt more fitting for both Felicity and Arrow as a show.
ReplyDeleteBecause Thea just doing whatever the hell she wants is going to be one fun bitchy goodness huh? Or that it's the most normal thing in the world to buy an apartment with the most literal blood money in the world? Yeah, sure it's really unreasonable for Oliver to get infuriated about that, because again, it's not the start of her being a complete hypocrite or anything...
ReplyDeleteHe should be pissed, I don't get why people think Thea is so well off with Malcolm, or how even people are thinking Malcolm is so much better for her than being around her frigging brother >.<
Besides, she's already going to do whatever the hell she wants, she's most likely going to lie her ass of against him, completely ruin their brother-sister bond in the process, and then end up with some 12 year old looking love interest, just 'cause they have to prove how they will never make Thea an actual likeable character, and that the only thing they want for her is to become Mini-Merlyn.
Again, I doubt it, I'm actually personally waiting for a couple of episodes of bad writing... Which I wouldn't say easily, but in this case it's true.
ReplyDeleteThey're desperate, at least it has felt that way since making Thea go down this path and made Malcolm a series regular for almost every episode, and to do anything they can to make sure people no longer expect Thea to become who people hope she'll become, putting it probably in a situation where no one will even WANT her to become that anymore.
So, chances are that there's going to be quite the few completely unbelievable reasons for them not going after Malcolm, while Thea just keeps drinking from his Kool-aid.
The reasons they're gonna bring up for Malcolm sticking around and Oliver just accepting that have to be REALLY good, 'cause in ep before this, they already should have had a battle.
I mean, at this point, including a lot of the fans that comment here, apparently Oliver is already starting to become the only one that actually remembers, and cares, about the horrible things Malcolm has done.
LOL, I'm pretty sure even after five months, it would make WAY more sense to go back with him, specially if it was real as a sister to a brother, than it EVER did in the frist place to make her go with Malcolm, so yeah xD
ReplyDeleteI'm just hoping Malcolm is going to be the one playing her and hurting her soon enough, instead of her playing Oliver and hurting him.
Can I just get off my chest that "estate money" is such a blatant lie, even she should know that and it's probably also Ollie's point... Every bit of money that Malcolm had at the end, is pure disgusting blood money, and she just accepts that and uses it? I guess Malcolm must have done away with a huge chunk, if not completely, her conscience.
ReplyDeleteThat's right, Thea - Treat yo self!
ReplyDeleteThis episode better be filled with Felicity scenes from begining to end. I waited two years for a Felicity centric episode!!!
ReplyDeleteAs am I. But I understand why she wouldn't want to spend time with Oliver. Hell I hope she becomes Speedy at the end of the season.
ReplyDeleteI'm really excided for this episode, can't wait for the background/ character development for Felicity with this episode. Who knows maybe afterwards more people will warm to her. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Oliver gets to meet Felicity's mom, I think that would be cool.
I also hope Felicity doesn't get too comfortable with Ray, I just don't trust that guy and the thought of him stilling her from Oliver just rubs me the wrong way.
Is Thea buying herself an apartment or Oliver an apartment? If she bought herself one I don't think he'd be quite so upset, however if she used the money to buy him a place I could see him be more upset. After all Malcom didn't just kill 500+ people he also tried to kill Oliver twice. So using his enemy's money for him may not go over very well. However Thea using the money for herself is more a daughter using daddy's money for herself which doesn't deliver the punch that using the money for Oliver would.
ReplyDeleteHm... I still actually really can't. She never gave Oliver even the slightest chance to tell her that he barely found out about the secret of Malcolm being her father, that he barely had any time to proces it himself, and again he was just trying to protect her... And apart fromthat, I just don't get it, it's not like Oliver has actually lied much more than that to her, apart from being the Arrow, but I'm still convinced that Thea believes in what the Arrow stands for. She's been pissed at the Arrow a few times, but italways came back to her also looking up to him.
ReplyDeleteSo no, I don't get why she would want to spend five months with her horrid father, call him "dad" and then have a problemw ith spending time with her brother that cares more about her than anyone.
And so do I, although I'd like to edit that I seriously hope she becomes Speedy at the halfway point, Roy was way too stretched out too last season, so I just hope they don't milk it out too much with Thea, even though chances are high they probably will...
Milking something refers to overplaying something. Like a joke. She was constantly lied to by everyone and was sick of it, as well as was sick of not controlling her life. And she felt like there was nothing left for her there. I get why she went with Malcolm. That dad thing, it's odd but they obviously bonded over the months,.
