I agree. Sara was cool, but (and I know there's a lot of hate for her) Laurel is supposed to become the Canary and killing Sara is exactly what she (Laurel) needs to push her towards her "destiny". They said this season deals a lot with "Who Am I?" For Oliver, it's "Can I be the Arrow and Oliver Queen?" For Thea, I imagine it's "Am I a Merlyn or a Queen?". Diggle "Am I soldier or a father?" and for Laurel I think it's has to be something of "Who am I?" altogether. Her story changes so much from Oliver to Tommy back to Oliver and then grieving about Tommy; from working at the DA to drug addict/alcoholic back to working for the DA that the character really needs some ground work of deciding who she is.
I'm still pissed!! It's 2:33am, and i'm still thinking about it, and i'm sooo angry. (I drank the rest of my bottle for her. R.I.P. Sara) But on another note...This extended trailer is freaking awesome!!! It's gonna be epic, and i'm sooo upset Sara has to miss the fight!! = ( My heart is aching.
I'm so pissed. they will get their revenge. These guys are going down. God! Long sigh...Sara. smmfh. My heart is shattered. But the action is full throttle, i can't wait.
Well the smiles and happiness lasted long. Whoever wanted dark season is getting their wish. I am still pissed about Sara. She should have given a chance to go rogue and be bad. I wanted her to become white canary. She would have made a good villain.
Smh. 4:12am still thinking about. I can't sleep if I'm not relaxed. I mean in the premiere though, really??? Freaking A. I wanted to see the PIT, before this, but now I want to see it more than ever, and idt it'll happen.
If they're looking to twist the knife a bit further there's always the Lazarus Pits (remember the green vial Malcom had around his neck?) and havng a twisted insane Sara back that Team Arrow will have to put down.
I would love it if they do that. If Laurel has to put down Sara my God that would be awesome. The way she died was so unceremonious. Her two previous deaths were so dramatic and more imapctful. If they are not bringing her back using Lazarus pit I don't get why they didn't kill her last season.
The show sooooo dropped the ball. Killing Sara in order to prop up Laurel. Wow such lazy writing. It has become obvious they did not know what to do with Laurel, which resulted in half-baked crappy addiction story lines and semi skitzo behavior from Laurel. Apparently Laurel's character was in such a shitty state, that they felt they had to kill off Sara in order to help her along.
I guess this was their solution to parts of the fanbase that has been wondering how they could make Laurel the BC with Sara hanging around, having so many traits of the BC and being much better at it than Laurel the token damsel in distress on this show. I did not care if Laurel would become the BC. My main concern was it would be done in a good believable way and the person who got the name, actually encompasses what the BC is, but this is just lazy shody cheap shock effect writing. Laurel is still far from having the core traits of the BC as well. It seems like the writers did not know how to get her there in a believable way so now they will just try to fast track it with going "omg someone killed ur sister u better become strong and take up her mantle now fast so u can avenge her" ugh. Also seriously the lack of originality here...
Sara's just a much better character. The killed off the wrong Lance sister tbh. I consider the actress for Sara to have a warmth and her portrayal to be more sympathetic compared to Laurel that seems almost bratty/snotty and got mad mood swings and bursts of being super selfish like when he dad was trying to help her with her drinking problems or Sara came back. The actress for Laurel is also pretty weak and leaves me cold.
Killing off Sara moves the entire story along. Seriously some people are just so bias. But let's hate on Laurel cause you just need a reason to hate her.
When Sara first appeared my problem was always with her actress. Something about her bugged me but she improved and I think Sara was such a valuable character to the show. I'm not sure why they left it until now to kill her instead of the finale, it seems a bit pointless, but at least her death is going to push the show forward a little bit. I just hope they make Laurel develop in a sensible, believable way instead of throwing her right into things. They first have to make her more likeable towards the audience.
God damn it sucks being Oliver, his parents are dead, his sister's off with her deranged psychopathic father/his nemesis, his ex-girlfriend and friend is dead, he's poor and homeless, lost his family's company, and he intentionally cock/relationship blocked himself. He can never catch a break.
so he is pretty much cursed......everyone around him dies or leaves and I thinking he will refuse to work with other beside maybe Roy like batman did after Jason Todd death. I wonder if his my name is OQ speech will be like
I enjoy how you refer to someone having a different opinion than you as "bias", as if your opinion is somehow more objective or respectable than theirs is.
I really think Oliver needs to get over everything being about him. Let Diggle, Roy and Felicity help catch whoever did this. All this brooding and ego is getting old.
Kidnapping Sara would have moved the story along too. Nyssa and the LoA could have arrived to help find her. Then the Sara flashbacks would have made sense. Right now, who cares, the character is dead.
But then Laurel couldn't have taken Sara's mask to become the Black Canary. And that's what the EPs really want.
I too am sad that Sarah is gone. I am not a huge Laurel fan, but I do agree that this event allows her to come into her own as the canary. I can also see that she can assume the role and most folks will think that it is Sarah, giving her a bit of protection.
I think the show's mistake was the romance btw Oliver and Sarah. I too had the same problem with her bobseh.....but she grew on me, unlike Laurel. I loved Laurel in the beginning of the show and the acting turned me off of the character....I hope that the show's writers do something to revive her for me.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
extended promo look even better!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how Sara's death is going to impact the rest of the season.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I really like Sara but she had to die.

ReplyDeletethis is likely the darkest season yet
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a powerful story for Laurel. I can feel it. Becoming the BC to honor your baby sister and avenge her murder!
ReplyDeleteIt will probably be one of the best of the series, too.
ReplyDeleteI like Sara, and I will miss her. Will she still be in flashbacks?

ReplyDeleteSara is going to be back but she won't be the same.
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe Sara is dead! Amazing game changer. This will be a hell of a season.

ReplyDeletepromo looks great .
ReplyDeletenice way to set up season 3
She's not really dead, she'll be back.

ReplyDeleteIts obviously Thea.
ReplyDeleteyes she will be. at least in 2, 3 episodes right now.
ReplyDeletehmmm... why? so far it was good.

ReplyDelete"Everybody is looking to me to lead, if I grieve nobody else gets to". Dark, delicous angst. This season is going to be awesome
ReplyDeletejust maybe the writer will pull a Jason Todd with Sara and bring her back as a different character
ReplyDeleteso he is pretty much cursed......everyone around him dies or leaves and I thinking he will refuse to work with other beside maybe Roy like batman did after Jason Todd death. I wonder if his my name is OQ speech will be like

ReplyDeleteOh Oliver, get over yourself. It's not all about your manpain.
ReplyDeleteLaurel honey, remember how you threw a glass at the door because Sara wasn't dead after all. Well now she is.
I really think Oliver needs to get over everything being about him. Let Diggle, Roy and Felicity help catch whoever did this. All this brooding and ego is getting old.

The producers say she really is dead.
ReplyDeleteSara will only be back in flashbacks. Blame Laurel.
...wow
