Awesome action scene! Although I'm one of the few that really liked Gabel's portrayal of the Count last season, I'm really looking forward to Stormare's portrayal of the new version of the Count. He plays a villain so damn well.
It feels like lately the CW are getting some better actors, even if most of them are only guest starring. Perhaps they're moving up in the world slightly? (or throwing more money at people)
I'd argue that someone in theCWs casting departement is a giant Prison Break fan, Robert Knepper, Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller and Peter Stormare?
Now if we could get Sarah Michelle Gellar as the new female lead (badass vampire hunter) on The Originals that'd be great
That was AWESONE and also a little confusing for a second there I was rooting for Oliver to win the fight then I remembered that I should be rooting for The Arrow (that was a really weird sentence lol) and I love that Lance was the one who came to the rescue but how does he keep finding Oliver did he plant a tracker chip on him or something? Lol maybe Felicity or Laurel called him because they knew Oliver wasn't thinking straight and injured from the explosion (I'm assuming this fight happens after the date that's why Vertigo is upset Oliver is still alive ) and he's in danger.
It would be a great cliffhanger (not for Olicity fans obviously lol) and it will certainly make people restless for the next episode but I don't think that's what is gonna happen in the hallucition he is wearing the same suit he was wearing on the date so whatever happens on the date and afterwards is going to make him think that he is real danger to everyone around him.
uuhhh, Fichtner sounds great. Maybe as The Question or Arrows version of Rick Flagg? I wouldn't mind Sara Wayne Callis in a likable role for once, maybe as Oracle.
I'll be honest though: I'd totally welcome the twist in wich it'd turn out that Stormares new 'Count' is actually Ra's Al Guhl
Oh I enjoy Seth Gabel in almost everything he's in but his version of the Count was so Joker-y that I really questioned the point of the character being called 'The Count' instead of just having him be a new villain (because with that portrayal he could very well have been)
Mmmhmmm. I'm hoping the villains from Season Zero and Season 2.5 are incorporated into the shows. Season Zero already has introduced 2 villains (with a 3rd on the way) while Season 2.5 has recast a past villain.
lol funny you mention that Seths Count was Jokery: Seth did an interview where he said:
"A lot of it was influenced by what they had initially told me, which was that he was very much like Heath Ledger's Joker in Batman. I tried to tap into whatever realm of energy he had tapped into. Then try to find my own version of that." Something that helped him get into character was figuring out how to hold a gun. "If a character's holding a gun really loosely, and is haphazardly kind of tossing their hand around, that's really scary," shares Gabel. "That became the basis for the character. At any moment something terrible can happen, but he either wants it to, or it's an accident. But it doesn't matter because he doesn't care."
That was Sooo Sexy!! (I've always loved seeing Oliver fighting in regular clothing then his suit yes I know it's an hallucination, doesn't matter) OMG!!!! Let's get this shit started already!!! 4 days is like 100!! That was exciting as hell, i'm ready!!!
I tried really hard not to watch this but in the end I lost the fight and watched it anyway. lol Loved it and now I really really can't wait tell Wednesday. :) At lest still 4 days to go. :(
so i had to go back to the CC trailer and check bc i remember a man being arrowed on the roof by either oliver or roy. i mean just bc the arrow went thru him, it doesn't really mean he's dead right? :( http://youtu.be/5t1jcQjEsaw?t=2m14s
Maybe it's more Arrow and Flash's connection to DC or the showrunners themselves than the CW network that's bringing in these actors. CW needs to think bigger show runners who have to chops and connections in the industry to produce more shows like Arrow.
I don't know why TVD does better (I get the teen faction) when Arrow is far superior. Maybe because it's been on longer?
Any Gotham fans here? Anyone notice how similar Fish Mooney's accent is to Seth Gabel's Count Vertigo's accent? Being of the same DC universe (in a larger sense), maybe they grew up in the same town.... hmmmm, anyone?
I thought the same thing when they made the announcement, but after this sneak peek, I believe they brought him back solely for exposition. Instead of the played-out "disaster makes me think everything normal in my life" comic-trope... being high on Vertigo will probably give Oliver an unwanted glimpse into his damaged self and make him face certain things he has left buried --- tying back to his time in Hong Kong.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
yeah an action scene
ReplyDeleteoh yeeeessssss!!!
ReplyDeletethis looks badass! The new Count totally sells, better than the old one
Love Peter Stormare.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't working for me. Anyone have another link?
ReplyDeleteso excited that they actually got him :D
ReplyDeletenever thought that he would do a CW show
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kajxGlMRe9E
ReplyDeletelol it actually started working, but thanks! Such a good scene.
ReplyDeletelol yw :). I must say Stephens smile while Oliver is fighting the Arrow does things to me.
ReplyDeleteWhy did they release this scene? Ugh it's awesome but even I have my spoiler limits...save the really awesome stuff for the show!
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome, though
Holy. Shit. That was amazing. Peter Stormare should be on more often. Just sayin'
ReplyDeleteIf he dies in this episode, I will be extremely pissed.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, that would be SUCH a waste!
ReplyDeleteDecided not to watch any SPs this season. They spoil waaaay too much in the press release, anyways.
ReplyDeleteawsome!!!!! And Quentin saves the Arrow another awsome!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome action scene! Although I'm one of the few that really liked Gabel's portrayal of the Count last season, I'm really looking forward to Stormare's portrayal of the new version of the Count. He plays a villain so damn well.
ReplyDeleteGreat scene. I'm finally excited about the premiere.
ReplyDeleteIt feels like lately the CW are getting some better actors, even if most of them are only guest starring. Perhaps they're moving up in the world slightly? (or throwing more money at people)
ReplyDeleteI wanna see more I wanna see more I wanna see more. Is Wednesday here yet??
ReplyDeletehe totally should,
ReplyDeletethey need to build their villains gallery up
Die die or Arrow die?
ReplyDeleteCount die
ReplyDeleteWorking fine.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so tired of the Vertigo arc, anyways.
ReplyDeleteYeah but if Oliver says it, it usually means they will show up alive in Starling City in a matter of weeks.
ReplyDeleteI'd argue that someone in theCWs casting departement is a giant Prison Break fan, Robert Knepper, Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller and Peter Stormare?
ReplyDeleteNow if we could get Sarah Michelle Gellar as the new female lead (badass vampire hunter) on The Originals that'd be great
they might refresh the storyarc
ReplyDeleteI was tired of The Count's take on it. Too much Seth Gabel crazy imo. Was fun at first but after a while it was a bit annoying.
ReplyDeleteEspecially if he shoots them in the eye with an Arrow...lol
ReplyDeleteEh, that doesn't get me particularly excited. Just when I though it was finished, they bring it back again.
ReplyDeletehaha true
ReplyDeletethe first one is not really Vertigo.........this is the real one and probably closer to the comics
ReplyDeleteThis comment made me laugh a lot, I share your pain lol
ReplyDeletedamn, I really don't want the old Count to return
ReplyDeleteThat was AWESONE and also a little confusing for a second there I was rooting for Oliver to win the fight then I remembered that I should be rooting for The Arrow (that was a really weird sentence lol) and I love that Lance was the one who came to the rescue but how does he keep finding Oliver did he plant a tracker chip on him or something? ReplyDeleteAgreed, I would like to see him recur throughout the season :D
ReplyDeleteI actually want the date+explosion to be the episodes cliffhanger
ReplyDeleteYou can't make a better cliffhanger than that. Happiness+BOOM=shock
would also be great if there waas an episode of the new count and clock king team up...i mean my Prison Break feels right now ...
ReplyDeleteIt would be a great cliffhanger (not for Olicity fans obviously lol) and it will certainly make people restless for the next episode but I don't think that's what is gonna happen in the hallucition he is wearing the same suit he was wearing on the date so whatever happens on the date and afterwards is going to make him think that he is real danger to everyone around him.
ReplyDeletei also loved seth gabel but i think peter stormare will make the count even more serious threatening!
ReplyDeleteI dont think old Count is alive. Though i liked Seth Gabel. Just dead on this show doesnt always mean dead.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch Prison Break but who should be the next prison break star to show up? William Fetcher?
ReplyDeletegood analysis of the scene, you're probably right but it would be a damn good cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteuuhhh, Fichtner sounds great. Maybe as The Question or Arrows version of Rick Flagg?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind Sara Wayne Callis in a likable role for once, maybe as Oracle.

ReplyDeleteReminds me: whatever happened to Cyrus Vanche?
not to mention that Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are guest starring on the Flash and are thus in the same universe :D
ReplyDeleteMmmhmmm.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the villains from Season Zero and Season 2.5 are incorporated into the shows. Season Zero already has introduced 2 villains (with a 3rd on the way) while Season 2.5 has recast a past villain.

ReplyDeleteI sighed at her comment and my heart dropped. = (
ReplyDeleteAgree with u on all of it. I too liked Seth, and am very much looking forward to Peter. Absolutely loved him in Constantine. (And other roles).
ReplyDeleteI tried really hard not to watch this but in the end I lost the fight and watched it anyway. lol Loved it and now I really really can't wait tell Wednesday. :) At lest still 4 days to go. :(
ReplyDeleteBerlin surelly hates everyone! first Red now Oliver D:
ReplyDeleteohhhhhhhhhhhh that was so awesome and i love peter so much (sup abruzzi)! thank god he wasn't cartoony like seth gabel.
ReplyDeleteso i had to go back to the CC trailer and check bc i remember a man being arrowed on the roof by either oliver or roy. i mean just bc the arrow went thru him, it doesn't really mean he's dead right? :( http://youtu.be/5t1jcQjEsaw?t=2m14s
ReplyDeleteI liked him too so...anyway this was awesome sneak peek. Now I wish I hadn't seen it, having to wait till Weds just got a lot worse.
ReplyDeleteOf yes! But for me any fight out of his arrow suit us great for me. ; )

ReplyDeleteI'm running bets...

ReplyDeleteWow, a compliment from mac! I should have that comment framed lol
ReplyDeleteWhy did you have to say that now I'm sad :(
