"Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" fans, prepare to meet the man who helped shape Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) into a HYDRA traitor. Zap2it can exclusively reveal that viewers will be introduced to Sen. Maynard Ward, Grant's abusive older brother, in Season 2, episode 6, "A Fractured Rose." Better yet, the elder Ward will be played by "White Collar" star Tim Dekay.

  1. OH MY GOD. Maynard is an abusive ass who I'm sure hasn't changed, especially now that he's a senator, but I am excited.

Hopefully Ward will be able to stand up to him for once

  3. Why did I read the episode title as "A Fractured Nose", lol?

  4. Just WoW!!! I can't wait for this episode!!!

  5. Because that's probably going to happen at some time during the episode...

  6. Hopefully someone will break Maynard's nose.

  7. Gosh, I always hate abusive siblings in media, guess Maynard Ward and Klaus Mikaelson should grab coffee someday and get blown up by Grant then

  8. Great! A Ward episode! Hopefully it will shed more light on his home situation and now we know why Trip said his familly was like the Kennedys.

  9. hopefully Ward, I know he's like 'the most hated character' atm on AoS but good lord I'm rooting for him to strike back to Hydra and his brother...HARD

  11. AWESOME! I m so excited!

  12. Yes, same here! Maynard and Ward's parents broke him and then Garrett took advantage of that. Ward just needs to realize and come to terms with the fact that Garrett was also abusive. Garrett broke him completely, and I'm not surprised there are some mental health issues now.

  14. I love Tim but oh dear I can't see him as anyone other then Peter Burke or Jonesy.

  15. Uh oh, the person that changed Grant into the traitor that he is today. This is going to be interesting.

  18. would still be rooting for Ward though, every attempt to teach this little prick a lesson goes positive in my book

  19. Did I read that right? Ward's abusive older brother is a senator now? Man, that's one screwed up family.

  20. Trip did mention that "they were the cable version of the Kennedys" last season. Apparently money doesn't always bring happiness and has a dark side because of two abusive parents and a sibling. And then of course, Grant was kidnapped by a psychopath and abused some more!

Really hope the other two siblings got out and are fine but I doubt it.

  21. He's learning, slowly but surely.

  22. Excellent. I was wondering how they would make Ward sympathetic again, if they are going to try to make him sympathetic again - his crazy-eyed apology to Skye was not a great start - but I like this angle a lot. The best part is that an encounter with his brother could really push him either way, to start to find redemption or to decide he wants to stay dark side even without Garrett around. This is a very cool element to add in for Ward's story, and I like that he's having to face his demons, rather than just going good for Skye's sake or whatever.

Also, I love Dekay, and if Ward is the good son, the Senator should be a crazy fun, seriously evil villain. Definitely approve.

  23. I can see that happening lol

  27. peter burke the abusive son of a bitch that destroyed grant ward and is now a senator wow it's going to be hard to see him like that but then again i DID see him as a man trying to kill a little girl on chuck but still it's going to be hard, i hope ward stands up to him and he can get rid of that demon once and for all

  28. Hi, Just saw that Marvel is calling Ward's brother "Christian" not, Maynard.

  29. Random thought I just had: could the "Rose" in the title refer to Grant and Maynard's yet to be named sister? We know a bit about the Maynard/Grant/younger brother relationship, but the only thing we know about the sister is that she exists, perhaps this episode will shed some light on her.

  30. Tim DeKay is great, but I don't see how could you possibly put these two next to each other and pretend they are biologically related o_O
