love them ..
ReplyDeleteI don't have sound on this computer but Skyeward scene. Yay! And from what I've heard from my friends, sounds like Ward's still transferring his dependence on Garrett to a dependence on Skye. That's not healthy at all. And once again, he's confirming that he was loyal to Garrett (his kidnapper and abuser) not Hydra. Nice to feel vindicated again!
ReplyDeleteCoulson better be getting Ward and Fitz the medical attention they clearly need.
Good on Skye diverting away from Ward's BS.
ReplyDeleteyou can have a main character be evil but you CAN'T have a main character be a nazi, I totally get why they made Ward loyal to Garrett only.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I kinda want Bill Paxton back, he was a pretty fantastic constant bad guy. Reed Diamond is okay as well but Paxton was pretty charismatic
I love Bill Paxton so much (have since Twister) and if Ward sees Garrett again and fights back against him for the first time in his life? That would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteWTF it's wrong with Skye? She cant listen what Ward have to say about her family for second time!
ReplyDeleteHA! Well worded.
ReplyDeleteShe didn't hear the first time. She put up some soundproof anti-Ward wall right before he mentioned it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously Skye? I get you hate him, rightly so, and you pobably think everything he told you was a lie, but using it against him it's low...
ReplyDeleteit's nice that she has a chair now, maybe the next time there are snacks and refreshments
ReplyDeleteI really doubt he was lying about her family.
ReplyDeleteWell Hydra aren't really Nazis.
ReplyDeleteAh Ward. He's really the only reason I watch this show.
ReplyDeleteHYDRA is basically a parasite that operates within other groups, working towards their own goals.
ReplyDeleteYes that's exactly it.
ReplyDeleteExcept it wasn't bullshit. We saw his brother abusing him on screen so that's real. No matter how "respected" they are, they're still abusive.
ReplyDeleteI love you, Skye, and I completely understand why, but you not believing the abuse victim pisses me off. You don't think the rich, well-respected political family didn't have the means to hide their dark side, the abuse going on?
ReplyDeletethis new dynamic between skye and ward is causing me to not like skye. It is pretty mean to use a truth he told her in confidence against him like a weapon. no matter the evil she thinks he is, it doesnt mean it is ok for her to use the same tactics. Also i am missing the first season team. there is just brokenness everywhere this season.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't saying that bit was bullshit but Ward trying to distract Skye by mentioning her family was bullshit.
ReplyDeleteHe may not be lying but he is manipulating her with the info he has
ReplyDeleteWell, he keeps trying to tell her - it's information Skye should know - and she keeps shutting him down. Pretty sure that's going to come back in bite them in their asses soon.
ReplyDeleteWell actually they are. Everything they represent including their history, philosophy and methods are inextricably associated with the Nazis. This is also supported by the fact that their leaders and influencers were all Nazis: The Red Skull, Baron Zemo, Baron Von Strucker just to name a few.
ReplyDeleteHydra are Nazis. They're fascists that want to rule the world and impose their world order on society. A society that would have been much smaller had "Project Insight" succeeded in Captain America: The Winter Soldier if the helecarriers succeeded in using Zola's algorithm to scratch off the threats to Hydra as Sitwell put it "a few million at a time".
But he is most likely trying to tell her because he wants a hold over her, wants to make her feel indebted to him in some way. He isn't doing it out of the kindness of his heart.
ReplyDeleteloved Bill Pax but lm happy that door is closed.Season 2 new beginnings.
ReplyDeleteWell he's not exactly mentally stable right now (as evidenced by the suicide attempts and the fact that he still doesn't realize Garrett kidnapped and abused him).
ReplyDeleteWard was dependent on Garrett in an unhealthy way and he's transferred that over to Skye. He needs a therapist as soon as possible.
He and Fitz should be getting help and I'm worried they aren't.
See I'd agree if it weren't for the fact they're not. One they don't believe in an Aryan race. Two they're not anti-Semitic, anti-gay, black, or any one non white. Three they don't share the same ideology of state control while maintaining privatization. Four being associated with Nazis does not make one a Nazi, it merely demonstrates that Hydra saw an opportunity to use them. Five, during WW2 Scmidt and Hydra repeatedly defied and betrayed the Nazis.
ReplyDeleteTheir only similarity is a desire for control over the world.
ReplyDeleteI think at the moment he replace Garret with Skye...which means that he would do everything for her. Whatever he tries to tell her is important. I don't think that he really has it in him to be manipulative. Think of him as a drone...he used to do Garret's bidding, now he does Skye's. Even if there is something she just has to know for her own good, he will obey her and shut up, because obedience comes before everything else for him. (He is really fucked up).
ReplyDeleteI have still issues with Skye's role in the show, but I totally get that. For Skye, family is everything, it's what she wanted to have her whole life. And at this point, she doesn't believe anything Ward tells her because she feels that he played a role all along, and that he is just trying to manipulate her. I totally get her not wanting to get invested in him emotionally.
ReplyDeleteWell it doesn't get more fantastic than that. I love that she couldn't help but "slip" and slide into talking with him, and I love that he hasn't changed his tune about Garrett. I know that sounds bad, but IMO, to Ward, Garrett DID do right by him. He can't see the manipulation that took place, he can only see that he saved him. (plus, Garrett had a winning personality, lol) The best part though, is that they have Skye doubting his claims of family abuse. Really, why would she think that it was real and not just another con to go along with all the other cons? She has no reason to trust him with anything at this starting point. I just read that they cast Maynard, and so yeah, when the truth comes out and she knows, that will be so epic. This show is killing it this season. Love it, LOVE THEM, and can't wait to see how this plays out. WOOT
ReplyDeleteThey do believe in superiority...they just don't connect it to a certain race or religion (maybe...so far all Hydra members were white, if I remember correctly) but instead to being part of Hydra. Everyone not-Hydra (and even some who are if they are in the lower ranks) are considered expendable. They also believe in absolute power and in brainwashing people into believing their ideology. And in reigning through terror.
ReplyDeleteWhich means they're similar at best.
ReplyDeleteSeriously can't stop watching this clip.
ReplyDeleteso finally they said that ward said that he was never loyal to HYDRA but garrett, i get that skye can't trust ward right now but she needs to listen what ward knows about her father but i think it's because the show wants that storyline kept on the backburner for now lol and i keep getting scared the way they're talking about HYDRA and SHIELD, SHIELD can;t become HYDRA what's the point of taking them down if they're just going to become them, they're supposed to be better than them
ReplyDeleteWard said that Garrett build him up the way (Garrett) wants..so Ward understand that Garrett was manipulated him. But Ward try to tell Skye that his family was worst than Garrett!
ReplyDeletehow does HYDRA even find gifteds though, i want to know how many gifteds do they have anyway
ReplyDeleteYeah, I still don't feel sorry for Ward.
ReplyDeleteI love they are going this route with this two, but I'm also smelling the scent of a new twist.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but I think that he still cares about the man regardless of starting to understand a bit, and that despite knowing, he still sees him as "saving" him from a hell. Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteit very similar to Hannibal/Clairce relationship
ReplyDeleteBy your logic fascism under Mussolini was the same as Nazism. They're similar, that's all. So, no I'm not wrong. Schmidt never at all demonstrated views in line with the Nazi ideology of an ideal race or any anti-semitism, nor has any other Hydra member ever. The closest he ever came was in his own superiority due to his having the super soldier formula in him.
ReplyDeleteHe literally killed Nazi party members, he obviously didn't give a damn about it's beliefs if he openly defied Hitler so he could use the cube for his own plans.
ReplyDeleteYup, I'm a sucker for homages =)
ReplyDeleteThis. It's just as possible, and sometimes easier, to manipulate someone with the truth. If you're being honest (and the other person realizes that), it can mask your manipulative intention.
ReplyDeleteCompletely superficial comment: Brett Dalton looks good with a beard.
ReplyDeleteHere's the superpowered individuals we have seen working for HYDRA in the MCU so far:
ReplyDeleteRed Skull (super soldier serum prototype)
Deathlok (super soldier serum variant in addition to cybernetic enhancements)
Absorbing Man
Winter Soldier (super soldier serum variant in addition to metal arm)
Scarlet Witch (we will see in AOU; volunteer for HYDRA experiments)
Quicksilver (we will see in AOU; volunteer for HYDRA experiments)
John Garrett (sort of became a super soldier with the combined Extremis/GH-325 injection)
Daniel Whitehall (high-ranking HYDRA leader; does not seem to have aged since 1945, which we still don't know how he managed to accomplish. I presume he has some kind of special abilities)
Wolfgang Von Strucker (leader of HYDRA; does not seem to have aged since fighting Captain America in WWII; like Whitehall, it is unknown how Strucker maintains his youth, and we don't know if the Death Spore exists in the MCU)
Blackout (freed from the Fridge by Garrett and Ward and encouraged to "follow [his] dreams," which is how he was sort of subtlely manipulated to distract Coulson's team)
Those are the individuals in HYDRA that we know of so far who have special abilities. It's interesting how a lot of them are super soldiers.
