I love the promo, except one thing. "Sometimes the best man to do the job is a woman" - really?? Was that needed? Why every show whose lead character is a woman needs to say something like that in a promo. Especially since we already know that Peggy is a woman (suprise, suprise) who returns after the war where she was a bloody hero and is pushed on the side for being a woman. Forgive my rant, that annoyed me.
This looks amazing yes!! Go Peggy when CA 1 ended I mourned the fact that we might never see Peggy in the MCU again but I was dead wrong she has been in the movies, one shot and her on TV show now!.
When I first heard about the show I wasn't convinced, since we know Peggy will end up (if you have seen Captain America 2). Now, Im so hyped about it, the journey is what counts, but I hope they don't do a lot of death cliffhangers. That will get old quickly.
This looks great and I'm really looking forward to it.
Somewhat off topic: I would love to know if and when we'll finally see Chris Evans as Captain America on Agents of SHIELD.
It would tie the Marvel Cinematic Universe together very nicely. The reason being is everything in the MCU resonates with the events of Captain America The First Avenger. Although it wasn't the first move produced, it really is where everything in the MCU originates.
It is where the Tesseract makes its first meaningful appearance in the larger narrative and as we know: The Tesseract is an Infinity Stone that will be of central importance in Avengers Infinity War Parts 1 and 2.
Captain America The First Avenger is where Dr. Erskine's Super Soldier Serum is first used which has also resonated throughout the MCU. The Abomination from The Incredible Hulk is a direct result of trying to replicate the serum and its effects. The experiments by Centipede in season 1 of Agents of SHIELD also were intrinsically related to replicating the formula.
Then of course there is the creation of SHIELD itself and the initial defeat of HYDRA which so importantly effect the MCU today.
Agent Carter will be a direct continuation of The First Avenger absent of course Captain America himself but I'm sure his presence or lack of it will loom large in the story.
So what are bosses waiting for? Get Chris Evans on the show already!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Whoa, Peggy is badass and this looks awesome. At least we only have to wait a few more months!
ReplyDeleteI so hope this show gets its groove faster than Shield so viewers stick!

I hate to say it, but that voice-over line was cheesy to the point of physical pain.
