A little-known new zombie series from cable network Syfy came out of nowhere Friday to emerge as a big global piracy draw over the weekend, according to new data from piracy tracking firm Excipio.
The premiere episode of “Z Nation” was devoured by approximately 300,000 unique IP addresses in the first 24 hours since its U.S. TV debut. While that may be far from record-holders like HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” which saw over 1 million individuals illegally downloading its season 4 premiere, it’s also well in excess of other well-known series like Netflix hits “Orange is the New Black” or “House of Cards,” which attracted sub-six-figure sums.

this only proofs that people have a very bad taste, because the show is awful and nowhere near any netflix show or the walking deaad.
ReplyDeleteSeriously ? The pilot was one of the worst i ever seen ....it's like watching sharknado lol
ReplyDeleteAsylum must be delighted ... at least.
ReplyDeleteSharknado effect.
ReplyDeleteIt seems really weird to compare it against streaming only shows like Orange and House of Cards which are consumed in a completely different way. Compare it to another Sy Fy pilot or show on a similar network.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's because Netflix is international and OITNB and HOC also get released internationally at the same time as the states, so there's less need to pirate them in other countries as those countries have a way to watch them legally (unlike znation). The comparison of znation and Netflix makes no sense.
ReplyDeletecan they release the ratings of that ep..??
ReplyDeleteits gonna be a show which we love to hate it
but still i m gonna watch nxt ep
It's a good indication that neither networks or most entertainment outlets really get why Netflix is so popular...
ReplyDeleteLet's see how many pirate the next episode... Now that I get that it's supposed to be "blackly funny," I want to tune in to the next episode to see if it embraces that more successfully...
ReplyDeleteHow would people know it is a bad episode without seeing it?
ReplyDeleteI watched the trailer and teaser and that already kind of gave it away but still I watched the first five minutes and that was all I needed to confirm how bad it was.
ReplyDeleteAnd other way to know how bad it was without seeing is just knowing the fact that this show is produced by "The asylum" (the same people who brought us crap like Sharknado, Almighty thor and a long list of awful movies)
Well, it was produced by Asylum...
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeletewell yeah, like I told you: it's bad, on purpose
ReplyDeleteBut it's more enjoyable than "the walking deaad" (wich I suppose is a show about goats? I've never seen it but you seem to do well with judging shows you haven't even seen fully so there's that)
