I am not sure why Lost, Angel, The Sopranos and The Shield are on this list. They had brilliant finales, especially Angel and Lost. From the other shows on the list, Dexter and True Blood had the worst finales/final seasons.
I used to belong to a board where the finale was a bitter argument between fans. Split 50/50. Those who hated it and those who loved it. I was neutral. I liked it. I liked the ending. It meant my favorite characters lived on to fight and if possible, a movie could be made. (At the time, it was the hope. A Buffy/Angel reunion movie. Fighting the good fight)
I wasn't crazy how Prison Break ended,after all they went through and i hated how Heroes ended. Actually Heroes sucked after the first season...well okay after the second season..
HIMYM, I don't expect it and it's not canon the other show is LOST. I liked Prison Break's finale but I don't remember too much of it must watch the series again cause I loved that show.
For me the all time unclosed chapters was the Sopranos and X-files, honorable or dishonorable would be Flash Forward, I know they cancelled it, but what happened I hate not having closure!!!
How I met your Mother BY FAR!! FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR... The last season was ok, but the last episode sucked horribly (don't get me started)... But I also don't accept the fact that Sarah ended up the series not remembering Chuck, on Chuck. It's sad...
out of the selections that I watched: True Blood finale season was very disappointing and got my vote, I liked Angel, Lost. I gave up on Heroes and Prison Break before the finale seasons.
I didn't have a problem with the True Blood Finale, nor Sopranos back in the day. HIMYM gets the booby prize, hands down. Dexter was bad, but nothing comes close to the awful ending of HIMYM. "Dishonorable" mention to St. Elsewhere's imaginiation-of-an-austic-child ending though.
It has to be True Blood for me. I went from being kinda enthusiastic about the whole thing until episode 4 which was really good for me to be honest, to being completely bored, then pissed at the finale. Personally, I loved the X Files conclusion. I thought it was tragic but really great. I can't really talk about Dexter since I gave up on season 6 and I've never really watched HIMYM (yes those people do exist lol!) but given the general response to the ending, it looks like I never will. Funny Angel had to make it to the poll though, I felt like the finale was frustrating yes but it was truly epic and I guess that's all you from a show like this... or from any show for that matter, to be honest. And yes, True Blood this one's for you!
From these shows I only watched till the end, three: True Blood (which was ridiculous how bad it was, but considering the latest seasons, not that surprising), HIMYM (who I couldn't really care either way) and Angel (that I absolutely hated when it aired, but thinking back now, it was actually pretty epic). All the others I dropped along the way.
I'll love Charmed with all my heart till the day I die but that whole final season got F-ed up in those last couple of episodes. And that final battle against Billie and Kristy, awful. They had so much space but really didn't explore it. The conclusion to the show was nicely done, with everyone writing in the BoS and glimpses of their future but everything till those last couple of minutes was painful to watch.
I've never watched half the shows on that list. As for as I am concerned Lost was the biggest let down of a show ever and with the worst ending ever. It got too complicated and out of hand for them to tie everything together in the end I believe.
Heroes was a mess long before it ended, so there's no point. Prison break, after 2 stellar seasons and how things went with the third season, I believe it was a pretty ok ending, all things considered. Didn't really mind the ending of Dexter. Other than the fact Dex was a huge idiot in the end. I understand why he did what he did. But personally I wouldn't let that hottie get away under any circumstances. Never cared about TB, even though I have watched it, and I still haven't got around to watch the final season, but it wouldn't make much difference since I am completely indifferent.
it's gotta be himym and chuck don't get me started with himym but with chuck it's not just they made her lose her memory it's also they destroyed 5 years of character development not just with her relationship with chuck but also with his family and her family also with casey she gained a best friend with him, a sister in ellie, an aunt to baby clara a friend to morgan, she also renconciled with her old teammate zondra and was thinking of having a family with chuck and quitting being a spy to live a normal life, and they only gave us sarah very slowly gaining her memories instead they could've given us a flash-forward to her having her memories back running around their dream house with chuck and their kids and maybe having a small mission but not too dangerous to show a hint that they'll always have little spy in them but no instead a show that the creators themselves said would never hurt us did exactly that, it actually made regret seeing it, as much as i loved it i can't stop feeling that way
Gilmore Girls is my favorite show ever and Lauren Graham is the best... but when Amy Sherman-Palladino left the show and butchered up the Java Junkie perfection (out of spite?), the last season didn't get back to it's feet. The actors saved the day, but the storylines...
The Borgias it has Cliffhanger ending! What's worse than reading 3/4's of suspense novel only to have last chapters ripped out! We were promised 4 Seasons only got 3!
HIMYM! I tried to watch reruns a few days ago, and i just can't! That finale really ruined all the show! The worst finale ever, for a show that once was so great..
The Borgias I feel like titanic passenger out in middle of ocean waiting to be rescued, Write a biography of 3/4 of a persons life? Why? Want the rest of their history!
I was surprised to find that people actually liked it. My dad loved the show and got me into it and we both felt like it went against what the show/Vic was about and it ruined the show for us, unfortunately.
For me it comes down to endings for the major players. -Vic got exactly what he deserved: Purgatory. He has to live with Lem's and Shane's death being mostly his fault, Ronnie unwillingly taking the fall for actions he wasn't always aware of, his justification for his dark deeds (providing for his family) running away from him to Witness Protection, and his blue family seeing him as nothing more than another cop killer. -Claudette's ending is she's a metaphor that fighting corruption will take it's toll and some times you have to accept half a victory. -Dutch in the end stays true to real nature, being loyal and like Claudette a symbol about the hardships of fighting corruption. -Acevada is the symbol of acceptable corruption. As dark as Vic was, Acevada was neck deep in allowing Vic to become a monster. And yet he gets to become mayor.
I think i'm the only one who liked the HIMYM finale. I figured the mother is dead in an episode in Season 7 so i was ready for this. The only thing i didn't like with the finale is that Barney got a random girl pregnant. It would have been so amazing if he got back together with Nora (i always wanted them to end up together)
Season 8 of Dexter was a clusterfuck of horribleness. The Brain Surgeon villain was pretty good, but everything else was horrible. That finale needs to burn in hell.

Angels final season was pretty good.

ReplyDeleteThe ones on the left are the ones I liked best. But I thought Heroes ended fairly well. Season 4 was WAY better than Seasons 2 and 3.
