Teen Wolf - A Promise to the Dead

This is it guys, the final episode of season 4 for MTV’s Teen Wolf starts in an hour! The previous episode, “A Promise to the Dead” was written by Jeff Davis and Ian Stokes and directed by Tim Andrew.

This is a quick sum up what happens in the episode, we find out that there is a level under Eichen House that is full of different supernatural creatures we have ever seen. Dr. Deaton knows about it and wants to see one of the patients because he needs help.

Melissa finds the Hale money under Scott’s bed and asks him about it, he finally comes clean and tells her that with this money we can all pay for things we need, however, Melissa dismisses the idea of the taking the money and shows Scott the money with the blood on it. Scott listens to his mother about the money being blood money and gives it back to Derek to find out it only peter’s money.

The continued scenes with Liam shows that fighting with the berserker really affected him and he is scared of being alone. While playing lacrosse Brett, one of the wolves of Satomi’s pack, which is also one of the guys that he used to fight with, helps him out and tells him that he draws his strength from Scott because he is a true alpha and didn’t kill anyone to become it, he earned it.

While Kira and Scott are at Derek loft having fun, Kate and her berserker bursts in and takes Scott and Kira with her. While Malia is watching the lacrosse game Peter comes next to her and tells that he has found her mother and he will take her to her if she does him a favour, he wants he to kill Kate!!

The finale scene we see Kira locked in a cage and Scott being tied up to a stone bench with Kate telling him the myth of Artemis and Actaeon. The story goes like this, Artemis was a Goddess and Actaeon was a hunter, one day the hunter saw the Goddess bathing naked. Artemis got so angry she turned Actaeon into a deer and he was killed by his own hunting dogs. While Kate is telling Scott the story she grabs a mask of the berserker and telling Scott, “I’m not going to turn you into a deer, but I will turn you into something not recognisable to your friends, they won’t know what they are fighting or killing.” OMG SCOTT A BERSERKER :(

There are a lot of people that have been watching Teen Wolf recently with a lot of criticism saying that they didn’t like where this season was heading and that it had to real reason behind it all. They even said that finding out who the benefactor was was discovered too early in the season.

Sometimes the writers of Teen Wolf bring things up in episodes ago and then the audience gets confused about why they haven’t addressed that problem. For example the season 3 mid-season finale, ended with Peter yelling out to himself that he is the alpha and will always be the alpha. When the second part of season three started, it did not begin with Peter’s plan to become the alpha, however, now in the final episodes of season 4 four it got brought up again.

I think the fact that the writers didn’t address the Peter issue earlier makes sense, because everything we know about Peter character is that when there is trouble he disappears and when the waters are calm we see him again. Peter characters always steps back from the issue looks at the best possible outcome for himself and only himself. Peter has been slowly quietly planning how he can become the alpha and take it from Scott, which hopefully we will see his full plan for him to become alpha. Obviously we don’t want his plan to succeed Scott is our only alpha and we don’t want to see Peter be at full strength again!!

Another theme that has been going through this season is Scott’s fears that he will become a monster and losses control and hurts the people he loves. This theme wasn’t just through this season, even when Scott first became an alpha he was scare of losing control and that’s when he went for Derek for help.

Despite the negative feedback that some fans have, there a still over one million people that continue to tune in to watch Teen Wolf and that’s just in the US. Sometimes Jeff Davis does allow his TV show to get off the rails and take us somewhere that we thought the show wouldn’t go but near the end he jumps back on the rails and does a full circle and everything makes sense, usually.

With the finale of Teen Wolf starting very soon, I hope you enjoy the episode and I really hope no important characters die. Don’t kill Derek!!
