TVLine got a sneak peek at the season premiere, followed by a Q&A with executive producer Caroline Dries, and we’re sharing some teasers about Elena’s state, Damon and Bonnie’s whereabouts, Stefan’s new girl, Caroline’s bruised heart and much more. Read on to get the scoop:
* Damon’s death will reveal a dangerous new side of Elena.
* Stefan is far removed from Mystic Falls as he searches for a witch who can talk to the dead. He even adopts a different “life” with a new job — and a new girlfriend?! “We get to learn what his process is as a vampire, starting over and living a different identity,” Dries teases.
* If you sensed some tension/flirtation between Tyler and Liv in this sneak peek, you’re not crazy.
* The biggest struggle for resurrected Original vampire Alaric isn’t bloodlust — it’s his lack of game when it comes to the ladies. “One of the problems he’s going to be having is just how to go on a normal date and be a normal guy again,” Dries says. Elena’s pretty new doctor mentor Jo (played by Prison Break‘s Jodi Lynn O’Keefe) “is going to bring that side out of him.”

So Alaric's biggest problem is finding a date? God dammit.
ReplyDeleteLuk and Liv staying around is a really great mews. I knew they would appear but them getting a "role" is quite amusing. Just 8 days to go! ^_^
ReplyDeleteI think it's more about him feeling like a normal human and just date, find someone for eternity.
ReplyDeleteI have problem with him trying to adjust (as he should), but Julie Plec's obsession with love interests annoying.
ReplyDeleteI really was surprised when i found out that they both were in the premiere! I thought we will never see them again like april/meredith with no explanations whatsoever!
ReplyDeleteSame here. I hoped for Elena maxbe trying to kill them as Revenge for breaking the spell but them having mpact on the show is a positive surprise.
ReplyDeleteJP is quite shipper fixated, it follows her since her Dawson Creek days. In case of a CW show it does quite well but I think/hope Alaric's story will be a lot deeper.
ReplyDeleteWait she worked on Dawson's Creek? Why am I surprised.
ReplyDelete..and with bonnie gone for now, they would desperately need some witchy assistance!
ReplyDeleteSorry my mistake K. Williams was working on DC, Julie did Kyle XY. I mixed them up.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually glad they're sticking around. Part of me hopes they're being kept for a Witch spinoff after TVD ends.
ReplyDeleteI tolerate liv, kinda like luke.A witch spin-off-i'm totally in for that,if that happens.I heard they were thinking of making a alaric-enzo centric spin-off though.I would be okay either way!
ReplyDeleteJulie did infact work on Dawson's Creek she just wasn't credited for it since she had no official job title.
ReplyDeleteShe was friends with Kevin and helped the writers make some decisions (mainly involving the couples...surprise surprise). She also sat in with the writers since they had no females writing on the show past the 3rd season. But since she never actually wrote for or produced the show she wasn't credited. She talks about it in interviews sometimes though.
I'm interested in how they're going to talk about doppelgangers without using the D-word, and what Luke and Liv have to do with it. It's occurred to me before that doppelgangers might not have been completely created by Markos. They're very powerful creatures that even travelers need *help* from once in a while. I think doppelgangers might have started out as something else, something that probably came from above or maybe even created the earth. I'm not talking about anything religious. I doubt angels or anything like that will be on the show. Silas was a traveler and Amarra was part of the Petrova family, who also turned out to be travelers. Silas and Amarra could have started out as a traveler and a human carrying a traveler gene, or travelers in general could have a different supernatural species as their ancestor. Stefan and Elena's power might come from there. Maybe Markos took supernaturals that already existed and made them all carbon copies of Silas and Amarra so they would be easier to find. Luke and Liv would know the most about this because their coven is old enough to have a very long memory. They could still want to protect Stefan and Elena because Stefan and Elena are an endangered species that witches don't want to lose. The problem is why witches don't want to lose doppelgangers. I'm sure they're not protecting Stefan and Elena out of the kindness of their hearts.
ReplyDeleteSPOILER!!! I know the storylines of season 6:
ReplyDeleteElena can’t live without Damon. She’s crying all
they and all night. But one day so goes to college and meets a guy and
she releases he is the perfect guy for Caroline and sets them a date.
Caroline is ok with it, she has sex with the guy, but she’s thinking of
Stefan. She decides to meet him and she becomes super-angry when she
sees Stefan has a new girlfriend, Ivy. She judges her immediately and
calls her a whore. Stefan gets sad and heartbroken. Ivy is never
mentioned again.
At the same time Elena is high on drugs and
hallucinates sex with Damon. Damon tells her this is not right and she
should move on, but Elena doesn’t care and they continue to have sex.
Alaric sees Elena’s craze and he becomes desperate to help her. He asks
some random witches for information: They tell him that Elena’s Brain
must have been stolen by the Brain-eater. Alaric calls up Stefan,
Caroline, Jeremy, Matt and Tyler and tells them they have to go to the
Brain-eater’s castle in another world to get Elena’s brain back. They all
unite and promise they’ll do whatever it takes until they get Elena’s
brain, because she’s is their most selfless and caring friend they ever
had.
Caroline confesses Stefan that she’s in love with
him, but Stefan says that she is only his best friend and they could
never have what he had with Elena. Caroline is heartbroken for at least
an episode. By the way Jeremy drinks a lot of alcohol and goes to school
drunk, so he gets expelled for good, but no one really thinks it’s a
problem. Caroline gets a new love interest, they make out, but Tyler
kills him, so he becomes a werewolf again. Matt and Alaric also get some
new girlfriends, but those are both killed in like 3 episodes, so no
one cares. Elena is crying and trying to get off of drugs, and she’s
also crying because of her missing brain. Caroline and Enzo get
together, so Enzo joins the MFG.
Stefan gets to know that they can get to the
Brain-eater’s world if they kill a hundred innocents. For Elena’s sake,
the MFG decides to do that, but they call up Klaus to help them. He
comes, crossover happens and he has sex again with Caroline to please
Klaroline fans. He comes together with Davina who kisses drunk-Jeremy.
After this they go to the Brain-eater’s world, but they get in some huge
danger and need to be saved.
In every episode we see Damon and Bonnie, who find
out they are on the Other Other side. They argue and hug a lot. They
also talk about how much they love Elena. Damon has a lot of funny
one-liners. Once there is a way to get out, but only for one of them. By
this time they know the situation of Elena and the MFG, and Bonnie
tells Damon that he has to save the others, so he has to go back. He
goes back to the land of the living, quickly kills a hundred people,
gets to the others and save them. He and Elena have a one-episode-long
kiss scene the rain. After this Stefan and the others also greet Damon. He
tells them that Bonnie is dead for good as she sacrificed herself to save
them. Everyone is happy to see Damon, Jeremy confesses that he fell in
love with Davina and we see Bonnie smiling on the Other Other side,
because she’s happy that no one is hurt by her death. Enzo breaks up
with Caroline because he loves Damon more.
The MFG arrives to the Brain-eater’s castle and meet
the sexy bad boy guard Peter, who obviously has some great chemistry
with Caroline. He helps our heroes find Elena’s brain, and kill the very
evil and not sexy Brain-eater and his family. „Petroline” becomes a
worldwide trend on twitter, so Peter and Caroline share their first kiss
and get together. Elena get her brain put back in its place by the
Salvatore brothers, who agree that this is the right thing to do. After
this Stefan is sad and alone is his bed, and he listens to Damon and
Elena having sex. But after that Elena has a crazy thought: What if she
might still have romantic feelings for Stefan? What if he is her True
Love? Maybe she should get him back…
Oh okay.
ReplyDeleteThe VERY FIRST thing that popped out for me through this entire article was.....Stefan got a job?!?!?! Whoa! That's weird! Oh thank god! NO "D" word in the first 10 episodes...SHOULD'VE MADE IT THE ENTIRE 22 EPISODES!!! I'm really excited to see Matt's arc this season. And ughh (rolls eyes) You know when fans were angry about Tyler and Liv during that sneak peek i thought they were just being paranoid. Guess not. Smh As for Steroline, If my bestie ignored my calls for even more than once, it'd be a problem. Hahaha I hope they argue, I would really like to see them argue. I want Stefan to say something to her that's over the line. Let's bring this simmer to a boil!!
ReplyDeleteMaking Elena more dangerous could actually make her more interesting as long as their version of dangerous isn't also a) crazy b)whiny or c)Katherine-ish.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly ! Plus I'm kinda desperate to see the girl take some action again. She could be dancing on tables at the Uni, I'd be quite happy because the writers would have given me something new!
ReplyDeleteYep. Both Elena and Caroline are way too passive for vampires.
ReplyDeleteWell LOL :D !!
ReplyDeleteConsidering what season 5 gave us I find these storylines very plausible :D and I do believe it would for compelling TV! Plus even though I'm not much of a shipper I think I'll go down the Denzo road (lol I was in since the very beginning but I digress).
However, about the end : ugh they should have left Elena brainless :/ !
You're right and that's a shame. Let's hope the writers will do justice to these ladies. I'm kinda more hopeful for Caroline though ;) !
ReplyDelete-Alaric : Ok, so I'll be honest here, I just can't bring myself to care about Alaric's love life. His struggles as a Original Vampire are 100 times more interesting than him trying to find his True Luv or something. Quite frankly this thing is getting old. Have the writers nothing else up their sleeves? Sorry about the mini rant but it's getting tedious and repetitive. That being said, I'm probably overreacting because I'm not the sure she'll will make it to the midseason finale.
ReplyDelete-Caroline : Glad she's taking some action while others aren't.
-Stefan : Glad to know Stefan has tried something to bring Bamon back even if it didn't work out.
Also, he has a job? Why would he need to work when he can compel himself anything he wants? Perhaps it's his way of trying to move on and try to regain some normalcy in his life? Can't blame him. Plus the more I think of it, the more I think I'll like Ivy even though let's face it she might not last very long.
-Matt : I'm intrigued about Matt and what his SL might be.
-Enzo : Looks like Enzo and Stefan are gonna spend some time together. Good! Cause I'm all for an uneasy friendship that comes out of necessity! I love their banter.
-Doppelgangers : I hated this SL as much as the next person but I have a feeling it should be adressed at some point. I mean their blood was the key to destroy magic and they want to take the anti-magic dome down so I'm pretty this special ingredient will be a part of some witchy recipe.
