“I’ll Remember” – (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)
FRESH STARTS AND SECOND CHANCES — After spending the past four months coping with the loss of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) in an unconventional and potentially dangerous way, Elena (Nina Dobrev) has returned to Whitmore College for the start of sophomore year. Unable to move on, Caroline (Candice Accola) is desperate to find a way to reverse the anti-magic spell the Travelers have put over Mystic Falls and grows frustrated when her calls to Stefan (Paul Wesley) go unanswered. Tyler (Michael Trevino), who is human once again, has a run-in at a football tailgate that tests his ability to control his anger, while Matt (Zach Roerig) worries that Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is dealing with the loss of Bonnie (Kat Graham) in a self-destructive way. Alaric (Matt Davis), who is struggling to adjust to his new life as a vampire, finds himself in an awkward situation when he meets Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe), a beautiful doctor at the university hospital. Last, while everyone believes Stefan is off tracking a lead to get Damon and Bonnie back, Elena is shocked when she learns the truth of what he has really been up to. Jeffrey Hunt directed the episode written by Caroline Dries (#601).

Hope they don't draw out the Elena drug thing storyline. Tyler being human again refreshes his character.
ReplyDeleteI'M a sophomore in college. It's getting harder and harder to suspend my disbelief with this show...
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that sounds remotely interesting is what Stefan's been up to.
ReplyDeleteMe too, completely agree.
ReplyDeleteThe only characters that has got me excited for the new season is Alaric and Enzo.
ReplyDeleteNo mention of Enzo?
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't sound like Caroline will have much a storyline. She really wasn't that interest in what Stefan was up to at the start of the last season (when he was at the bottom of a quarry) so why does she suddenly care so much now?
She'll have storyline after the mid-season.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Bonnie and Damon will be in the first episode or they will appear in the second one.
ReplyDeleteWhat Stefan has been up to...Maybe that refers to his girlfriend.
Hmm. I got nothing.
ReplyDeleteWell, nothing new really... Too bad Enzo doesn't seem to appear in that one :( !
ReplyDeleteAs for Stefan, I'm pretty sure they're actually talking about Ivy.
Still wondering what's the point of Tyler being in MF (sorry, I've got nothing against him) but I don't see what his purpose is right now. Hopefully the writers will prove me wrong.
Tyler needs to go, such a stale character.
ReplyDeleteEveryone thinks Stefan is off trying to find leads on Damon and Bonnie while IMHO, he is the sane person who has moved to a different town and moved on from all events and started some kind of new life with Ivy.
ReplyDeleteHe is the SELFISH person, actually. His brother is dead and is he's cool with it.
ReplyDelete*** and he's cool with it.
ReplyDeletesomebody kill tyler please
ReplyDeleteAre you serious? With the facts and info at his hand, Stefan knows that what happened to Damon and Boonie is irreversible and they are never coming back. What is wrong in him accepting it and moving on with his life? Nothing. It doesn't make him selfish at all.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't anyone else but me think we should wait (impatiently, of course) for the new season and see what actually happens? Then criticisms or praise have a real basis. Everything right now is speculation, even with all the "spoilers". We've been mislead before!
ReplyDeleteElena is either going to find out about Stefan's girlfriend, or she's going to find out what his new job is. I think someone said it would be something surprising. Whatever's going on with Tyler looks like an extra storyline that will take up unnecessary screen time. If he can't be integrated with the rest of the characters in any way, then his character has outlived its usefulness. Thank goodness the contracts are expiring. I'm ignoring the rumors about the core three because the sources are unreliable. I honestly hope some bushes get pruned when it comes to some of the minor characters.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in how Jeremy is coping with losing Bonnie. No one has talked about that at all.
How can you say he is selfish?? You don't know what is going on. You don't know if he has moved on to deal with his grief, or using it as a coping mechanism. Even if he is not, it's been over 4 months since the finale, he has every right to move on with his life especially since they believe the loss is permanent.
ReplyDeleteThe 2 best things about this synopsis are:
ReplyDelete1 - Alaric is getting some screen time right away
2 - There is absolutely no mention of Enzo. I only wish it would stay that way (which it won't).
I'm a little surprised that Caroline is the one trying to get the Traveler spell lifted. Then again, with her track record of fixating on stuff maybe I shouldn't be.
I have felt that way since Klaus banished him from Mystic Falls. It was an acceptable and fitting exit for the character given the choices he made. That should have been the last of Tyler on TVD.
ReplyDeletethere's nothing that can be done to "refresh" Tyler.. they should have killed him off
ReplyDeleteBonnie and Damon the mysterious place their in is the only thing that's interesting to me
ReplyDeleteSo, he has no problem to move on when he knows that his brother died to bring him back. No guilt, no sadness.
ReplyDeleteThat's called "selfishness".
It's very interesting how Stefan is the only one able to move on after all that, despite the fact that was his brother who died to bring him back. Selfish is what he is.
ReplyDeleteAnd guess what? The loss won't be permanent.
ReplyDeleteSending him to New Orleans was the final nail in the coffin with him, and I would not notice if he just stopped appearing on the show for whatever reason. The description seems to paint him back in his same old pilot season self anyway.
ReplyDeleteMatt's sister Vicki died and he moved on with his life - he hasn't devoted himself to bring her back. Elena isn't out there trying to bring back Jenna and John from the dead. Tyler isn't trying to bring back his dead relatives, etc...
ReplyDeleteEvery character has lost someone on this show and they all move on and go forward with their lives - that's normal.
John Gilbert died to bring Elena back to life, yet she's never brought him back from the dead. So isn't Elena equally selfish then?
ReplyDeleteI like him
ReplyDeleteJohn was never supposed to come back, and he was just a human. There was no way to bring him back. It's completely different.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad that Caroline has a storyline that doesn't involve a ship. No one wanted her friendship with Stefan to be more than that, so she has a big project that'll probably take all season. I hope she stays single for a while, or plays the field if they have to show her with a guy. I don't think there will be a Klaroline reunion anytime soon. Considering that the crossover was filmed without anyone noticing, it's possible that it's something beneath most fans' radar and not involving a major character like Klaus. Charles MIchael Davis wanted to be on TVD so bad that the writers might have figured out a way to slip him in for a small, one-episode plot.
ReplyDeleteBut that is what I'm saying. Damon sacrificed himself for his brother, and his brother is cool with it. Is that normal? I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering how easy is for Stefan move on when is about Damon. As he spent 5 years without news of Damon, and never even asked himself what was going on.
I agree that after four months, it's healthy to move on. The problem is that Stefan is lying about it. He lied to Elena about what he did with Katherine, and now he's lying about this. There's really no reason for him to lie so much and it's hurtful. I can almost see how this series is going to end. Elena is going to almost get killed a couple more times, her friends will continue doing things that upset her (whether or not she has a right to be upset), and Elena will decide that she's had enough and she'll just walk away from all of them. I'm very surprised that Elena didn't talk to Caroline at all about what Caroline did with Klaus. Elena could be a ticking time-bomb of resentment right now.
ReplyDeleteyoure one of a very few people
ReplyDeletei think
ReplyDeleteThe actor seems to come and go a lot during the course of a season and his arcs feel irrelevant, unwanted and disjointed.
