In a competitive situation, CBS has landed The Things They Left Behind, a supernatural procedural drama based on Stephen King’s short story, from Seth Grahame-Smith, and Greg Berlanti.
Written by Grahame-Smith, The Things They Left Behind centers on an unlikely pair of investigators carrying out the unfinished business of the dead.
The project, produced by Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti’s studio-based Berlanti Prods., has received a put pilot from the network, which has had success with another drama adaptation of a work by King, summer series Under The Dome.
Grahame-Smith and his producing partner David Katzenberg will executive produce through their KatzSmith banner, along with Berlanti Prods.’ Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.

A couple of years ago if you had told me that CBS would have two high-profile sci-fi shows on their summer schedule, had picked up a third, and was developing a fourth (for some reason I assume this would be a midseason or summer launch) I would have said you were on acid.
ReplyDeleteI generally hate CBS as a rule but I really hope they can make some true sci-fi/fantasy hits, they've never known what to do with them or how to promote them but they've made some nice progress.
I think I need to read this Stephen King story now because I haven't (I still need to start/finish two of them, though).
ReplyDeleteSo they want to fill the hole that they themselves left after cancelling Ghost Whisperer...
