The SpoilerTV Readers' Pilot Ratings Table - 2014/2015

Last Updated: 18th April 2015 (The Messengers added)

With fall season in a full swing, we thought it would be good time to post the Readers' Pilot Ratings Table, just like we did last year. If you are not aware, these ratings are based on the "What did you think of...?" polls for the pilot episode.

We rate the episode by giving each rating a point i.e. Awesome = 5, Great = 4, Good = 3, OK = 2, Poor = 1 and Awful = 0. We then work out the average rating.

This table will be updated as each new pilot airs.

Cancelled shows will be marked as red and renewed shows will be marked green.

Here is the link to last year's table, if you are interested: The SpoilerTV Readers' Pilot Ratings Table - 2013/2014

  1. Interesting... it would be nice to have a viewers table to compare... I think this is kind of the opposite of how the shows did in terms of viewers.
Considering only network TV, the highest rated pilots (TMOL and Black-ish) are the ones with the lowest scores here. And the lowest rated have the highest scores here (RBS and Forever).

  2. It's sad to see Red Band Society at first place knowing that it will be cancelled soon...

  3. Ah thanks! I was just looking them up at stvplus ;)

  4. I think that the mysteries of laura should be up the list a little high like on a 3 at least I thought that it was funny better then some of the new shows that were on this year

  5. Thanks for the awesome list, I feel so good about the list all the shows, I'm digging are ranked very high which is very
Very good, I'm really surprised by Laura Mars is doing so well, could I have been so wrong, have to wait and see:)

  6. Wow, Mulaney has hit a new low.
In comparison, last year's lowest rated shoew was Dads (also on FOX), with a 1.53 average rating.

  7. Wow people really hated Mulaney. I didn't even bother sampling it to be honest.

  8. So far I liked How to get away with murder and Gracepoint the best. I´ll give Gotham and Stalker a few more episodes aswell. I didn´t watch the affair yet, did it air?

    ReplyDelete
  9. It's funny that Stalker which has 17/100 on Metacritic was voted as nearly "great" and Z Nation which has 48/100 was voted as "ok".

  10. LOL at mulaney.I'm a bit surprised at gracepoint's rating!It was like a bad version of broadchurch & scene-to-scene copy-paste job!

    ReplyDelete
  11. All the critic-bashing of Stalker is really unwarranted.

    ReplyDelete
  12. The pilot is available to watch in the US.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Maybe the majority of people who had already seen Broadchurch didn't even check the remake. I personally don't see the point in watching remakes if you can watch original.

  14. Agreed.
It is completely not my type of show and I am not a Debra Messing fan, but I thought the Mysteries of Laura pilot was one of the better pilots this season.

Plus, it was refreshing to see the lead character (especially a female lead) who is not necessarily a superstar/ best at what she does, but more of a real person dealing with real problems.

  15. My two new favorite shows in the first and second place, The Flash and HTGAWM.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You forgot to mark Z Nation green.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Benched was hilarious and is the #1 comedy this season for me.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think Cristela's pilot was better than Selfie's.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Haven't watched it myself, but it's the but the readers gave it the highest rating among the comedies.

    ReplyDelete
  20. A to Z and Bad Judge should be marked red

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeah, that came after my daily update.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hmm I wouldn't rate Forever above Gotham or Scorpion above State of Affairs, but whatever. Most of these shows will be cancelled by May anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wow people didn't really like State of Affairs around here.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It was dry and dull.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I have yet to watch it.

  26. Are you guys maintaining the same ranking now that we have half a season under the belt or has it changed? Right now, I would probably rank the new drama shows that I've watched like this:

    Dramas
    1. How to Get Away with Murder (ABC)
    2. The Flash (CW)
    3. The Affair (Showtime)
    4. Madam Secretary (CBS)
    5. Scorpion (CBS)
    6. Gotham (FOX)
    7. Forever (ABC) (dropped it after 3 or 4 episodes)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Pretty good for agent carter

    ReplyDelete
  28. Showtime is premium cable, so live viewers don't matter to them much. And they renewed The Affair, so it's clear that it is doing well for them.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Those are my 2 favorite shows too. The flash never has a bad episode a and HTGAWM is always jaw droppong and entertaining

    ReplyDelete
  30. I agree, but I think Scorpian should be last. Although it is a really good show

    ReplyDelete
  31. I agree with 1 and 2. I don't watch The Affair, Gotham and Forever, but I do watch Madam Secretary and Scorpion. I would swap the two of them though, as Scorpion is a bit better than Madam Secretary. My ranking would be like this:

    1. How To Get Away With Murder (ABC)
    2. The Flash (CW)
    3. Scorpion (CBS)
    4. Madam Secretary (CBS)
    5. Stalker (CBS)
    6. NCIS: New Orleans (CBS)
    7. State of Affairs (NBC)

    ReplyDelete
  32. The ranking is based on the polls results from the "What did you think polls" for the pilot episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh sorry, I know that. The question wasn't actually directed to you, it was more a general question asking people if their opinions had changed ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Overall I prefer Madam Secretary. Scorpion has some incredible episodes (the fall finale was amazing, as was the pilot and the Christmas episode) but it has had some inconsistent, slightly boring episodes to me too. Madam Secretary has been consistently good to me after the pilot. And I think I simply like the type of show that MS is (a political thing, even with procedural elements) than Scorpion (a crime procedural). But I really like both anyway ;)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well I prefer Scorpion to Gotham personally so far. But that can change, we shall see ;) Gotham has a lot of potential, it's just not "there there" for me yet.

  36. black-ish lower than The McCarthys is moronic.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Both pilots weren't good. But I liked McCarthys a little better because of Laurie Metcalf.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love Laurie Metcalf too but I wish she had a more watchable show.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Not surprised that I don't watch anything from current top 10.

    ReplyDelete
  40. So? What point are you trying to make?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I wouldn't watch or not watch a show based on this.

    ReplyDelete
  42. This is squite a large list. Why do I not see Outlander on it? Season returned on 4th April. Did it miss the cut off time? Coz it trended on Twitter that night. Just saying...

    ReplyDelete
  43. This is just for Pilot episodes. Outlander premiered back in August 2014

    ReplyDelete
  44. People fairly liked The Messengers; crossing my fingers so it did well!

    ReplyDelete
  45. What does the N/A column mean?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't understand. Why would a column be called Not Available?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Not applicable. Those shows air in the UK.

    ReplyDelete
  48. It was a mistake. Fixed now.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Mulaney should be marked in red since it's been cancelled for awhile now.
