Hey all,
Day fifteen was an interesting one. When I checked the polls at about 9am UK time (10 hours into the poll), Bones had about 300 votes to Outlander's 200. 14 hours later, Bones had gained 100 votes, while Outlander had gained well over 1,000 to send it flying into the next round. That's quite a dramatic turnaround in a poll that could have been quite close. Person of Interest however, never looked in any doubt of beating Legends, and did so quite comfortably.
The final day of the first round sees The Borgias take on M*A*S*H, while Desperate Housewives takes on House.
Reminder of the rules:

Only Desperate Housewives for me today. Never watched any of the 1st, and never really got into House.

House MD... how I loved that show! Until they eff-ed everything up in S7. Such a shame. Still gets my vote though. When it was good, it was GREAT.
ReplyDeleteThe Borgias/MASH is kind of an unfair pairing. MASH is a classic while The Borgias had such a (relatively) small audience. I personally loved it, too bad they didn't get the fourth season they originally planned for the show.
House, forgetting some parts of the lats 2 season but overall a great show.

ReplyDeleteM*A*S*H and House for me! MASH is the first time I learned that a comedy could be a dramedy and break your heart too. House because it was amazing in the first few seasons and I despised everything about Desperate Housewives. Plus, House and Wilson make me smile.

ReplyDeleteWhy does everyone keep pitting The Borgias against completely different genre'ed shows? Can't you websites get it right for once? It was a historical drama. M*A*S*H...wasn't. Pit it against something more similar/make it harder for people to choose (this reminds me of the poll that pit The Borgias against Firefly...are you kidding me?). It's like everyone hates The Borgias/WANTS them to fail.

ReplyDeleteOh I did not by any means mean to imply this was done on purpose or anything of the sort. I don't think that at all, nor do I think anyone has anything against the show (Borgias). It was just an observation of the draw-results. And actually, I'm quite surprised by the fact it's actually winning the vote! I was sure the veteran MASH would be miles ahead all the way. It's a nice surprise.

ReplyDeleteI'm actually going to get the boxset soon because it's cheap and I can't wait to start watching House. But still, Desperate Housewives is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThere is no conspiracy. The shows were randomly matched up. E.g. FRIENDS v Walking Dead aren't exactly similar shows. We don't match them up based on the show, we match them up based on them coming out of the hat.
