The brilliant Person of Interest gets my vote today.
ReplyDeleteOkay, wow that was hard but I went with Outlander even though I love Bones.
ReplyDeleteSorry Bones ! but I MUST go with Outlander!
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest obviously and Outlander.
ReplyDeleteOutlander is still on my dvrd which still needs to be watched so i went with Bones.
ReplyDeleteSorry Legends in like you but i love Person Of Interest!!
Longevity wins out for me today. Unless I am voting against a show, I can't vote for one that hasn't even completed their first season. Legends and Outlander would have had only what, 3-4 episodes aired when nominations closed. It is crazy to me that they even got into the competition for favorite show ever.
ReplyDeleteJust Person Of Interest.
ReplyDeleteBoth Outlander and Legends had aired four episodes when nominations closed.
ReplyDeleteFor the 1st poll-outlander.Tried watching bones, couldn't.For the second poll,POI-based on the only season i've watched so far!I'm catching up as fast as possible.
ReplyDeleteOutlander (sorry Bones) and Person of Interest!
ReplyDeleteJust Bones for me. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't rush POI. You'll be disappointed when you catch up to the rest of us because you only get one new ep per week, when you'll want about 20.
ReplyDeleteJust one question, does the show get more serialized in terms of storyline as we move forward?I like highly serialized shows!
ReplyDeleteYep.
ReplyDeleteLooks like this one i have to cherish slowly!LOL!
ReplyDeleteHow can anyone in good conscience vote for a show that has aired a handful of episodes over a show that has aired almost 200 if you actually watch both? It seems almost vindictive and cruel to me. I guess I will never understand tv viewers.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but you won't want to. Once you get to the latter half of season 2 you'll wanna just clear a block of time and binge-watch the remaining episodes.
ReplyDeleteOutlander and Person of Interest.
ReplyDeleteOutlander for the win!
ReplyDeleteJust Person of Interest
ReplyDeleteBones and Person of Interest (I´ve never seen the other 2, but anyway I like Bones and even more POI):)
ReplyDeleteBones and POI! Sorry for Legends though.
ReplyDeleteNothing for me today. I'm a little surprised at the amount of new shows that made it into this tourney.
ReplyDeleteEasy some people just prefer one show over the other! Different strokes for different folks.
ReplyDeleteI quit Bones a long time ago and don't know Legends, so Outlander (one of my two fav shows ever) and POI for me.
ReplyDeleteThat just seems crazy to me. I know shows currently airing have great advantage over those that are not. Still I personally never know if a show is going to be great or not by its 4th episode. I might be hooked by then like I was with Supernatural and make it appointment TV but that just means I am cautiously optimistic that it won't take a right turn into suckage and that I will still care about the characters by season's end.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand voting for them today, especially if you don't like the other shows they are running against. I am just baffled by how shows that had so few episodes made it past the nomination stage. I had the same puzzlement when Dominion had so many nominations in the Character Cup. I guess people just want to get the word out about new shows and increase the chance that they will be renewed.
Person of Interest and Outlander :)
ReplyDeleteWell I haven't watched Bones and I have watched Outlander, but Outlander is on its penultimate episode tonight for what will be the first season and it's been fantastic--even the book readers seem pretty pleases with the adaptation so far--which might be another factor in why some people would also vote for it, because they can see that show has been sticking to what they feel it should...Outlander is also visually very stunning, which could again be another reason why someone may choose it.
ReplyDeleteOutlander has been renewed right after the first episode aired, if I remember correctly. So, in this particular case it's not the reason for nominating/voting for this show. It's more the fact that most of the fans were hooked immediately, both "old" fans of the book(s) and the "new" ones.
ReplyDeleteOutlander and Legends both shows are getting really good
ReplyDeleteDon't watch Outlander, not into procedurals so I don't watch Bones, but my love for Boreanaz has got me voting for the latter.
ReplyDeletePOI for the second poll, do I need to explain? How Legends make it into this poll, didn't think it was that popular.
Outlander was in the top eight nominated current shows.
ReplyDeleteJust POI for me today (she says as she frantically tries to get caught up)
ReplyDeleteBones, of course and Person of Interest both of these shows for the win!!
ReplyDeleteOutlander was an easy vote. Choosing between Person of Interest and Legends was more difficult, but I ultimately chose the underdog, Legends. Sorry to Harold and Bear. I love you, but I know that you will win, and Legends needs more attention.
ReplyDeletelove outlander but love bones 1000 more and poi i love my chicks kickin ass never tried legends its on my will see
ReplyDeleteBones and POI for me today
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest. I know, how very shocking.
ReplyDeletePOI.
ReplyDeleteYou could always re-watch the first season as soon as you’re
ReplyDeletedone with the third. And yes, that’s what I did; it was *that* good.
Just Outlander for me
ReplyDeleteNothing this round for me. I don't watch any of these shows.
ReplyDeleteSorry Bones, but I have to go with Outlander!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I enjoy Bones... I have to vote for Outlander. My other pick is Person of Interest
ReplyDeleteI hope Outlander can beat Bones.
ReplyDeletePOI is my only vote today, gave up on Bones many years ago and don't watch Outlander. Enjoy Legends, but can't beat POI for me.
ReplyDeleteOutlander by default and Person of Interest.
ReplyDeleteNo I totally get that. What I can't fathom is the commentators who claim to enjoy both but have chosen the one that has had no time to grow/overcome problems etc. Anyway what do I know LOL!!
ReplyDeleteYou actually make a great point!
ReplyDeleteJust Person of Interest for me today.
ReplyDeleteOutlander for me, though I think it is up against tough opposition unfortunately. Don't watch either of the others I'm afraid.
ReplyDeletePoI of course and I hope Outlander can win the other. I have nothing against Bones, but IMHO Outlander is exceptionally good, it's very rare that a TV adaptation tops the original book, makes the story much more enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteJust one correction - penultimate episode of the first half of the first season. In January (or February, not fixed yet) Outlander comes back with another 8 episodes.
ReplyDeleteThis show has probably the most complex storyline on the present TV roster, cable shows including, maybe Game of Thrones has so many intertwining story arcs. In S3 there were maybe only one or two episodes which - despite the seemingly COTW structure - were not connected to at least one of the main arcs.
ReplyDeleteIt's about now, not about the future. Without voting down on any other show, Outlander (what was presented till now, and yesterday was the 7th episode) looks like an excellently crafted series. After a solid pilot they managed to keep the level of quality and IMHO four episode is quite enough to decide whether somebody wants to follow a show or not. (People who quit usually cancel till the 3rd episode.)
ReplyDeleteCan it go wrong later? Of course. If it happens, I won't vote it. But here and now it is one of the shows which makes me waiting a certain day of the week and it's very rare in my case.
I am remaining faithful to Bones
ReplyDeleteIs season 2 COTW formatted?
ReplyDeletePractically all seasons are COTW formatted. The trick is that somewhere, somehow most of the - at first glance - simple "save the day" cases are connecting to a greater scheme.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of recurring guests, who at first were only "cases" then they play important roles in another one, but I wouldn't want to tell more, because one of the best parts are the "what the hell, I never thought about it" moments.
To me it's still a hiatus that splits it in half--so it works as if it is a first season, because I do have to wait to see the next part. (Just not as long as normal).
ReplyDeleteBecause the books are in my top 3 favourites of ALL time, the series has stuck to the spirit of the books & almost completely the actual dialog/major scenes. It is about history, psychology, politics, *a billion times better than the '50 shades' version of* sex, travel & wit (as opposed to 'humour') when the opposition is interesting &, I'm sure, factual....
ReplyDeleteHey wait..which series are you talking about? Because if it happened to be NCIS vs Mentalist...Then I do watch & love them both!
Thanks for the info. It's just that CBS procedurals are not my cup of tea except H50,so i was contemplating to continue watching it or drop it.
ReplyDeleteOne thing is sure - PoI is as far from a run of the mill CBS procedural as possible.
ReplyDeleteI like Outlander a lot, but i wouldn't consider it a favorite yet. I don't watch Bones. Legends is good, but Person of Interest is #4 on my current series favorites list.
ReplyDeleteMy votes:
Maybe I missunderstand, but the show got a 16 episode order right from the start. Ron Moore said he could choose what he thought was best to cover the first book in one season, 13, 16 or even 18 episodes. He tried and came to the conclusion 16 would fit best. Why the hiatus? I don't know. For next season (second book) they got a 13 episode order, but I read somewhere this isn't fixed, it's "just" a minimum order (in this case I may be wrong, though).
ReplyDeleteI love Outlander, I do and if it was going against a different show I would've voted for it, but I have to go with Bones for keeping my interest for so long. And for the second poll Person of Interest, there wasn't another possibility ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove Outlander, sorry Bones. POI over Legends, sorry Sean Bean!
ReplyDeleteTough choice for me between Bones and Outlander. I chose Outlander because it is a new show based on my favourite books that I've been reading for a very long time. I hope that the series will continue for a number of (at least 8) years to cover all the books that Diana Gabaldon has written so far. She is currently writing the 9th. There's lots of material for Ron D. Moore to work with for future seasons.
ReplyDeleteBut favorite show EVER? Nah...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I did after watching just Season 1!
ReplyDeleteHeck yes--favorite EVER! Outlander is great, but not yet to the favorite ever status.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. Both are excellent, but Bones has been amazing for TEN seasons! Outlander hasn't earned it's place on my all time list yet, though I like it very much.
