Original Article
Around 2 years ago the company that used to produce our SpoilerTV Android App went out of business and since then we've had to rely on our Mobile Site (m.spoilertv.com) to support Android Smartphone and tablet users. We've had a lot of feedback from users asking if we will ever have another one.
Well I'm pleased to announce that we've just released publically a new Android App for our SpoilerTV Readers.
I would like to thank our Beta Testers who helped lots of little bugs and make some great suggestions.
Here are some of the features of the app.
- Faster loading than the mobile app
- Ability to easily search for articles.
- Can star articles for later viewing
- Supports 3 different themes currently
- Supports List or Grid Mode
- Notifications of new articles
- You can easily view all articles from the last 24 hrs
- Quick access to some popular shows
- Ability to Hide Read Articles
- Ability to Mark All Read
- Sort by Articles by Date, Title, and read/unread
- View Movie Articles
- View Recent Reviews
- Quick links to key articles like Cancellation Table, Pilot Watch, Show Status, Premiere Calendar
- View Featured Articles
- View Trending Articles
- View BUZZ Articles
- View Fan Showcase
- View Recent Comments
- Ability to Submit Scoop from your Mobile
- Easily Share Articles on Social Media
- In-built Bug Reporting and Suggestion Form
- A What's New Page
- Contact Page
Here are some screenshots to give you an idea of what it look likes.
KNOWN ISSUES
Like with every first version, this is not perfect but we think it has enough features that most people will find useful.
Here are the current limitations. We hope that over time these issues and features will be fixed and added.
- Comments are not displayed within the app. You will need to click the View Comments link to view and leave comments. This is due to Disqus not having a mobile SDK available.
- Some articles which contain tables/spreadsheets that go off the screen cannot be correctly scrolled on some devices. At the end of a table there will be a link to open the full spreadsheet for most of the main charts.
- Search will only search for articles that have been downloaded to the app. As more content is downloaded to you app the more you can search. i.e Old posts that are available on the web site cannot be search for on the app.
- We hope in future releases to be able to give user the ability to select only the shows they want to have on their app.
If you have a bug to report or wish to make a suggestion that is NOT in the above list please use this form to send us your feedback. Note: You can also report bugs/feedback within the App itself.
Bug Reporting and Feedback Form
You can get the SpoilerTV APP here in the Google Play Store.

Awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt's a cracking app, very fast and easy to use and customise. I love it!
ReplyDeleteJust updated from the Beta version and it looks great.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to install and use it.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteDid it upgrade automatically ok?
ReplyDeleteThanks for helping with the testing.
ReplyDeleteThanks @Spindae2 and hopefully over time we can address some of the issues.
ReplyDeleteI guess you had auto upgrade turned off?
ReplyDeleteIt's very fast and easy to navigate! I haven't tried to watch videos and galleries as of yet, but everything else looks fantastic. A lot, a lot better than the mobile version.
ReplyDeleteNope, it's turned on. Then again, I have it turned on for all my apps, and I have 10 to update (only five of which need permission changes confirmed).
ReplyDeleteThanks @Alice Khromenko glad you're enjoying it so far
ReplyDeleteI love the app! It's very fast.
ReplyDeleteThe only issue I'm noticing is the comment section, but think you'll work it out. Continue with the great work.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's currently the biggest issue and until Disqus provide a SDK for Android apps there is not much we can do about that currently :(
ReplyDeleteThanks @m.war glad you like it.
ReplyDeleteBut again not a big deal. The app overview is really good and much better than the mobile version.
ReplyDeleteOne of my suggestions would be an option to choose favorite shows on the side bar to navigate easier.
Yep, we have that listed in the Known Issues section in the post :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite app already!!!
ReplyDeleteHa awesome !
ReplyDeleteFantastic *Q* Spoiler tv always with me lol
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it :)
ReplyDeleteSweet. Just ignore that tiny iPhone database lol.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I know what an iPhone Database is but hope you enjoy the app :)
ReplyDeleteHa, it's not exploded any other phones yet :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I've waiting for this a log time ago.
ReplyDeleteOur pleasure @Claudia Hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteMy phone is not Smart enough for the app LMAO.
ReplyDeleteI really hope an IOS app is in the works. Lucky Android users :) App looks very sleek and clean.
ReplyDeleteHi @Dan Nguyen I'm afraid there are no current plans for an iOS at this time. I don't have the technical knowledge, time or money to invest on an iOS one.
ReplyDeleteMaybe in the future if the Android ones proves very successful we might see what options we have.
Sorry about that ;)
ReplyDeleteI will install it when I can.......must suck for those who are not android user......
ReplyDeleteYep it should be in the app store for everyone by now
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for this one. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteIts really fast to load and easily navigated. I really wish the comment section could be integrated.
ReplyDeleteSo do we :)
ReplyDeleteIn which country of the App Store please? I could not find it on the US site of itunes but maybe I am just not smart enough to find it ....
ReplyDeleteIt's not in iTunes.
ReplyDeleteIt's in the Google Play Store.
Ok, any reason why it not available on itunes? Any plans for it to get there?
ReplyDeleteSorry for bugging you...
iTunes is for Apple.
ReplyDeleteThis is an Android App. Android Apps won't work on Apple devices, sorry.
Love the app!
ReplyDeleteJust wish you hadn't taken away the ability to just view all Polls... I enjoy completing those and sometimes don't want to wade through everything else. :-)
@irisheyes143 Glad you like it. Can you not click on the search icon and type Poll. That should display all the polls.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have not tried that! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis app should have the bookmark/favorite menu too. So,I will go to see the article of my favorite show directly.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, it should have a menu to list all tv series not just show a popular show.
Thanks for the feedback.
ReplyDeleteNever even knew there was an app! On a different note, how many USD do you get a day, if you know? Mine never seem to make it :(
ReplyDeleteIt ranges from about 10 - 20 on average per day. Last time I checked there were about 400 submissions that are in the system that have not been posted yet. We've posted around 700+ in total so far.
ReplyDeleteThanks
ReplyDeleteAhh very good, hope this helps keep my MB down. This app uses almost all 1 GB a month 😇
ReplyDeleteWow. Have you looked at the Sync settings so you only download images etc over wifi etc. That should help a lot with a large transfers/bandwidth usage
ReplyDeleteyeah it seems I was downloading a lot. But I do check out a lot while I am on the road so no wonder....
ReplyDeleteha lol
ReplyDeleteAd free? How did you manage that?
ReplyDeleteOne day I will buy a new android phone and get the app. Doesn't support my 2 year old android 2.3.4 phone.
Easy. Just deleted them ;)
