This is our 7th and final season. Looking at the scripts now, it's so fun and such a great season!

ReplyDeleteWould've thought this type of announcement would've gone with renewal. Something changed. Guess they had no faith that the reboot was going to last or the financials absolutely won't work. Thought they'd wait to see how things played out for CBS in fall and where the show landed.
ReplyDeleteWell,at least it had 7 seasons and it will go out the way they want!
ReplyDeleteLet's hope so. With the way shows are going out nowadays, I have developed a deep mistrust for final seasons and finales.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise there, glad they're able to end it properly.
ReplyDeleteWould love for EVERY show to at least get a wrap up season (a man can dream)
yeah, even if they were 6 episode final seasons like Nikita, that would be fine for me; every show has its fanbase and they should all get a resolution
ReplyDeleteI think it's the right moment for this show to leave. As sad as it will be to say goodbye to the characters, they had a good run and now they get a chance to wrap everything up in a satisfying way. It's a good call.
ReplyDeleteNot a shocker, but I hope that, even though it doesn't seem Jane will have been in the FBI for two years so far, he gives the names of everyone working for Red John's group(kinda blank on the name).
ReplyDeleteBy the time a final season I usually know how bad a show has become, but they series finales have been disappointing lately. But i will always compare anything to Dexter's finale. In that respect, the others were not horribly executed(I just disliked them a lot).
ReplyDeleteNot really surprised but am VERY glad the show has plenty of time for a proper wrap up rather than leaving a cliffhanger for a season 8 that'll never happen... that disrespects the show, it's cast and crew, and the fans.
ReplyDeleteI wish every show could get a wrap up season. And having this be the final season feels right. I love the show but with CBI gone it hasn't felt quite the same since.
ReplyDeleteI'm both happy and sad. Love watching the show and the cast are amazing, but yeah...I think it's time to say goodbye. It's good that they announced the final season first rather than wait for the CBS to cancel the show with an unresolved final episode. I think The Mentalist just made it (they were lucky) to get the renewal for the 7th season. But I'm glad the show has time to conclude the series and maybe we'll get a better ending (unlike HIMYM).
ReplyDeleteAn amazing effort for this show to do 7 seasons. It's going to be hard to say goodbye.
got to hand it to theCW: they may not reel in big numbers but certainly have some heart for the fans.
ReplyDeleteA 6 episode conclusion for each of their shows sounds about perfect to me
We have had a bad run on finales lately, haven't we
ReplyDeleteI dont think the level of the stories have been quite right since the Red John Show plot ended. They brought in a new detective to shake things up (who is apparently not in this season anyway). I guess it did shake things up , but not the way they wanted.
ReplyDeleteshould have finished last season
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can understand what you're saying. I think the point of the last half of Season 6 and Season 7 is to wrap up the show and to show fans what Jane would be like after getting his revenge/killing Red John. I keep reading around about Post Red John, some like it, some don't. Just depends on the person.
ReplyDeleteI think they have definetly had some interesting stories but now i dont know. The show built its back on Jane and his interactions with devotees/servants of Red John... killing the false Red John and so on. The Red John storyline WAS the Mentalist storyline for so long. I understand that eventually that storyline had to end, but then I felt that is where the Mentalist storyline should end also.
ReplyDeleteCan't deny that RJ storyline was the leading one, but for me it wasn't "all-embracing". I'm watching the show mainly for Jane's character (RJ was part of it), he's very complicated and funny at the same time and the whole show is a perfect mixture of drama and comedy. Have no doubt about s7 success)
ReplyDeleteRealizing that the show should come to its end I'm still very sad about that and I'm gonna miss it very much:( The best show for me yet.
Hello, my name is Miss faith, I'm from UK. I want to inform you all that there is a spell caster that is genuine and real. I never really believed in any of these things but when I was losing Garvin, I needed help and somewhere to turn badly. I found consultant.odia spells and i ordered a LOVE SPELL. Several days later, my phone rang. Garvin was his old self again and wanted to come back to me! Not only come back, the spell caster opened him up to how much I loved and needed him. Spell Casting isn't brainwashing, but they opened his eyes to how much we have to share together. I recommend anyone who is in my old situation to try it. i'm glad that CBS is givign them an oppertunity to make a Final Seasons. I don't watch it anymore, but i hated how the CSI-Shows were cancelled without a final season although i never watched the shows. But i think a show which is on the air for so long deserves this.
ReplyDeleteI'm still mad at CBS for cancelling Ghost Whisperer without an real ending...
The Blake Association. It would be great if they could wrap this story up. The last we've seen, Jane still hasn't been able to break the code and decipher the list of members that was his bargaining chip with the FBI (he told the FBI that he cracked it, but later admitted to Lisbon that he was bluffing).
ReplyDeleteI knew that Season 7 would probably be the last season after they ended the Red John storyline and finally brought Jane and Lisbon together. While I'm interested to see how they are going to handle Jane and Lisbon as a couple, I still believe the show could have gone out on a stronger note if it had ended with Season 3 with Jane's confrontation with who I consider to be the real Red John.
ReplyDeleteAhh, thanks. I kept trying to remember the name after I posted my comment but still couldn't remember it, lol. And while Jane admitted that to Lisbon, I just hope he has been able to decipher it, because without that bargaining chip, Jane's done for, imo.
ReplyDeleteSuch sad news:( loved this show every week!
ReplyDeleteKinda glad about this...
ReplyDeleteI think it's time...
With both "The Mentalist" and "White Collar" bowing after this year, I am hoping for some freshman shows capable of replacing them in my viewing schedule. So far, Scorpion has impressed me and NCIS: NO has looked like a steaming pile. Hope to find at least one more winner this year.
